USA Today Bestselling author Trixie Silvertale grew up reading an endless supply of Lilian Jackson Braun, Hardy Boys, and Nancy Drew novels. She loves the amateur sleuths in cozy mysteries and and obsesses about all things paranormal. Those two passions unite in her Mitzy Moon Mysteries, and she's thrilled to write them and share them with you.
I have come to really love the characters of this series. Mitzy of course, with her tough-as-nails attitude but with her big heart. Ghost-ma who remains such a favorite of mine. Pyewacket, the caracal, who plays a very important role, and whose powers are developing. I just love Pye! Silas who becomes more and more dear to me. Twiggy with her cackles. And Odell - gotta love Odell; I love no-nonsense people. Oh and I almost forgot Dad! The ex-con, which makes some people automatically suspicious. This is a great series and I am so glad I discovered it.
My review per a-ma-zing book:
4 What a great book!
This one would work fine as a standalone; the mystery stands on its own perfectly and the personal details are well explained (but not too long for series-readers).
In this book, the first case Mitzy has to solve is a case of cheating at bingo. Bingo? Yes, bingo! Of course there’s more, way more. A big fire next door, an evacuation - but what about Grams?! She’s tied to the bookstore! A fast-paced, breathtakingly suspenseful, surprising mystery that was clever and full of humor. Mitzy still has so much to learn - like people skills lol. I was so immersed in the story, that I actually thought about how I’d still have to shovel snow - in the book there’s a lot of snow, but here none. None! That’s how real it felt! Great book!!!
5 Edge-of-my-seat good!!!
Away from her new home, Mitzy goes on a cross-country skiing trip. With a guy. And not one I particularly like…
What follows is a rollercoaster of happenings, one after the other, surprise after surprise. Interesting and captivating! Paranormal powers are growing, which I loved! And Silas was impressive! This story was full of twists and turns, things that I never expected, and it kept me on the edge of my seat. Another page-turner!
6 Ten stars!
The opening drew me in right away: it took me like two sentences and I was ba-a-ack! Oh how I love this series. And this was even better than the others, how that is even possible I don’t know. Ten stars from me! I kept on reading way past my bedtime. Just couldn’t put it down. So good. The book I started after I finished this one paled in comparison, even though that was pretty good too, but this one was so good it leaves other books behind by a mile!
Mitzy has matured! Well, only a bit, so don’t worry! And oh-my-ghost I love Ghost-ma! But oh Mitzy, Mitzy, what have you gotten yourself into this time! She has such a talent for gettin’ into trouble! You gotta read this, y’all! (I know we’re talking almost-Canada, so if you want to understand this Southern phrasing, just read the book!)
Sparks and Landmarks - Mitzy Moon is back with her next adventure. Things are going smoothly until Mitzy goes to bingo. She’s asked to watch as only one person seems to win. Mitzy sees something off but still has no idea what is happening. Later that night the vacant building is set fire. Mitzy and Silas manage to save the book store but her father is blamed for the dead person found in the building. So Mitzy and her crew are back on the job.
Charms and Firearms - Mitzy is back and ready for trouble. Rory has won a skiing trip and invited Mitzy for the weekend. On the way he gives her a lovely personalized charm bracelet. The glamorous ski resort looks run down and empty. As Mitzy and Rory go skiing, Mitzy loses control and skis into a dead body.
Bars and Boxcars - Jacob’s foundation for ex-convicts is kicking off. Unfortunately, at the same time, his railroad has major product thefts. Is it the ex-cons or is this just a coincidence? Mitzy of course becomes involved and picks up work in a dive bar to search for leads. I love this series. Great characters who are developing their talents. Great story line. What more could you ask for? Read it!
I adore these books and I can't ever get enough of Mitzy and all of the other characters that reside in Pin Cherry Harbor. Book four is Sparks and Landmarks. There is so much action going on. Mitzy's life is on the line in a big way as she tries to figure out who the murderer really is and what they have planned next while trying to keep her dad out of jail. Lots of great action and intrigue. Book five is Charms and Firearms. Mitzy is again risking her life trying to solve another mystery. Rory Bombay is featured prominently in this book. I love the fact that Mitzy is gaining more confidence in her gifts and special skills. Silas continues to surprise me with his capabilities. I was so happy to see the progress with Erick and Mitzy. I just love him! Pyewacket of course, is one of my favorite characters in this series. Book six is Bars and Boxcars. Mitzy is trying to figure out who is robbing the train on her dad's railroad. This book is full of adventure and intrigue! I love the fact that Mitzy and Erick are growing closer. Pyewacket should be an honorary deputy I think, just for the way he always helps out. Highly recommend this series!
Book4 - Sparks & Landmarks: Another awesome visit to Pin Cherry Harbor. Love this series and will always want more. The characters are awesome and the stories are great. I can’t wait for the next one.
Book5 - Charms & Firearms: Wish there were more stars. This has quickly become one of my favorite series. The stories are well written with fun unique characters. I enjoy each visit to Pin Cherry Harbor to see what Mitzi & the crazy cast of characters are up to. I can’t wait to see what happens with Rory. Looking forward to the next book!
Book6- Bars & Boxcars: LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! this series. Mitzy has quickly become one of my favorite mystery characters. I can't forget about Pye, Ghost-ma & the rest of the crew. They are awesome also! I am always sad when I'm finished with a book in this series, I can't get enough. Pin Cherry is a place that anyone would like to call home (minus the murders of course!). The characters, setting, & stories are well written. This one involves an old fashioned train robbery, with at Mitzy Moon spin of course. Pick up a copy to see how it all plays out.
Mitch Moon continues go trip into dangerous situations, develop her newly found "special set of skills", and save the day! On e you start this series, it is very difficult to put it down! I love the combination of amateur sleuth & developing fully gifted psychic. Mitch seems to be getting on track with her life, her skills and maybe even being more emotionally connected. I'm excited to see what she continues to bet I to with Grams, Dad, Silas, Pye (I have long loved that name for a feline - for obvious reasons ) Odell &, of course, Erick at her 6!
I think it's an awesome series. I love Mitzy's crazy antics to get herself involved in a dangerous situation and solve the crime with the help of her pet caracal and her Ghost Grandma. Her conversation with her grandmother is so hilarious especially when it comes to mind reading. Got addicted to Mitzy's adventures. Must read for a cozy mystery lover.
I lost slot of sleep on books 4-6. I couldn't seem to just finish a chapter and put it down. I kept reading into the wee hours. I do have one problem with the train robber story. When Misty was rescued and went home there was no reunion with Pye. She didn't even ask about him.
SPOILED for me by the author's abuse of Almighty GOD's Names and His word *Holy*. This is blasphemy and is NEVER acceptable. Minus 1 * That said, the story was otherwise brilliant❣️ I'm looking forward to reading future stories - without Blasphemy, please
In these three stories Mitzy with the help if her cohorts solve the mysteries that pop up in Pin Cherry Harbor. Will Mitzy and Sheriff to hot to handle get together? Read these awesome stories of and find out.
This series is unputtdownable. The series has quirky characters, touch of romance, positive messages, clean, laugh out loud, hang on to your seat, and a mystery. What more do you want in a cozy paranormal mystery?
Never a dull moment with Mitzi. She is really starting to enjoy her new lifestyle but she can’t seem to stay out of trouble. She has a lot to learn from her later, Silas. Fortunately she has realized that and has started to take Silas more serious when he works on different skills with her.
