Mystery, Mayhem and Mischievous Mutts!

Dorset Hills is famous for being the most dog-friendly place in the world. In "Dog Town," the furry rascals and rescues are at the center of every love story, every mystery and every small-town scandal. This heartwarming and hilarious series is perfect for lovers of cozy mysteries... although in this series, despite page-turning suspense, no one ever dies! If you appreciate all the quirky characters and twisty mysteries of cozies but can do with the murder, the first three books of this series are a breath of fresh country air.

Bitter and Sweet in Dog Town – Remi Malone has conquered lifelong shyness with help from Leo, her beloved beagle. The promotion she craves is finally within reach. When Tiller Iverson returns 12 years after their high school heartbreak, old wounds open and trouble ensues. Leave it to beagle Leo to sniff out mysterious secrets and second chances. In Dorset Hills, where there’s a dog, there’s a way.

A Match Made in Dog – Bridget Linsmore is Dog Town’s resident matchmaker – a local legend who pairs trained dogs with new owners at her Thanksgiving Rescue Dog Pageant. This year, she’ll need to rescue her pageant, her home and her lovable pack from a mysterious threat. Could the enemy next door possibly be the man of her dreams?

Lost and Found in Dog Town – A mischievous mutt goes missing at Christmas. Is it a prank, or something more nefarious? Mim Gardiner and a bold band of rescuers join forces to solve the riddle and bring home her beloved pup for the big day.

Overall I enjoyed these

First, let me say I read the Bought The Farm series first, which may have raised my expectations unfairly. Riggs did an awesome job on that series! This series' opening trilogy, while overall really good, wasn't quite up to that par. In the first story the romance just wasn't believable to me, though the rest of the story was good. The second and third stories were much better, the romances were much more believable even though by the third one it was obvious from the start what the romantic interest would turn out to be. There were a few typos as well, mostly wrong word usage (one was repeated: ally is a friend, alley is a narrow side street) but the most glaring error was from either the writer or editor simply not caring about continuity. Cori's faithful Border Collie buddy is named Clem, not Clint. It's a small thing to some, but I'm someone who gets annoyed when an established character's name is arbitrarily changed between books, especially the dog. The tl;dr is that these are three good stories with non-lethal mysteries woven in amongst dogs and a budding relationship, but they're not up to the admittedly high standard set by the author's Bought The Farm mysteries.

Bitter and Sweet in Dog Town
Remi and Tiller were the best of friends, until a misunderstanding about what happened on prom night. When Tiller returns to town, Remi is faced with some difficult choices. Will they work things out or will she end up alone? No spoilers, but I wasn’t expecting what happened to cause the fallout.

A Match Made in Dog Town
This is my absolute favorite of Sandy Rideout’s books. This book had me flipping the pages to see what obstacle was going to be thrown at Bridget next to overcome. She is known as the matchmaker to the dogs in Dorset Hills and sometimes she even matches humans, lol. This book is a suspenseful read that will have you trying to guess who the culprit is. Grab your copy and see if you guess right, like I did. If you’re not a fan of rescue dogs, you will be after reading this amazing book. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Lost and Found in Dog Town
WOW, what another beautifully written addition to the Dog Town series. Mim is a wonderful heroine that gives her all as a nurse. She has a son, Kyle, that seems to be distancing himself more and more. When their dog, George, is dognapped, it brings them closer together. The dognapper is trying to place the blame on Carver, the neighbor that Mim has issues with. Is he guilty? No. I loved his reason for putting up the spotlight, lol. This story kept me reading until the very end. I just love the way the town came together to help during this trying time and how they showed their support, when Mim was doubting their feelings about her as a person. I highly recommend all of these books. You will finish with a smile on your face. I just can’t get enough of these wonderful characters that Sandy Rideout has created for us. I’m looking forward to reading the next book.

I love the Dog Town series! It's amazing!
"Bitter and Sweet in Dog Town" is a sweet romantic story about a second chance at love. Remi and Tiller were in love in high school but a misunderstanding at prom broke them up. Now, over a decade later, they have a second chance, if they are both willing to try. The stars of the story were the dogs though. Their antics were so funny.
"A Match Made in Dog Town" is the second book in the Dog Town series. The rescue brigade are an awesome group of women. I hope they all get their HEAs!
Bridget is the kind of woman I hope to be. Rescuing dogs is her passion and her life. Who cares about makeup and dog drool? Bridget is busy getting ready for her yearly fundraiser when she finds her perfect house. Too bad the evil and handsome developer wants it too. Attraction forms between her and her neighbor and unknown enemy tries to ruin her home and her livelihood. Good thing her friends are there for support and laughter and of course the dogs have their own funny antics.
:Lost and Found in Dog Town" was a wonderful story! Mim was a great character and her adventures were hilarious. I especially liked the fence scene. But now that I think about it, there were two fence scenes and I can’t pick which one I laughed harder over!
I loved that we got to catch up with Remi and Leo. Of course, The Rescue Mafia were there as well, and their antics always make me laugh.
Ms. Rideout is a great author and I’m looking forward to more of her books and more of Dog Town.

Bitter and Sweet in Dog Town is a most enjoyable story. I love the idea that there is a Dog Town. The characters are well developed. I loved Remi, Arden, Hannah, James and Tiller. The dogs, particularly Leo and Roxy each have their own personalities, behaviors and strengths. I read both this story and the second one this afternoon. I could not get enough of Dog Town!
In A Match Made in Dog Town, Bridget's life was very busy - especially leading up to her annual Thanksgiving pageant. Suddenly she has to play nice on the political front since the new mayor does not seem keen on continuing many town traditions - including the pageant to match her rescue dogs with their forever person. In addition someone seems determined to sabotage her efforts to open a kennel so she can rescue more dogs. If you like dogs, romance and some suspense, you should enjoy this book.
In Lost and Found in Dog Town, a lowlife steals Mim's dog just before Christmas! Come along as Mim, Kyle, Arianna, various neighbors and The Rescue Mafia search for George. Sandy Rideout's characters feel like my neighbors. A well written mystery. I could not put it down.
In Tried and True in Dog Town we need to run the mayor out of town!
Don't miss this wonderful series.

I loved reading this series. Some of the characters from my favorite series overlap, love that. I can’t say much without spoilers but you will enjoy these books as much as her other series. I have read everything she has written and can’t wait for more. You must love mystery, murder and animals, if you want to read these nice clean cozy books.

Mischief in Dogtown

I really wish I had found these books first! They are good books, quick & easy to read, quite enjoyable. However, I found the Bought The Farm books first &, well, I enjoy them even more! I am learning a bit more about the members of the Rescue Mafia though & I see that as a good thing. Learning about Dog Town itself, isn't such a good thing though. I never have been a fan of politics.
