Angie, her best friend, texted her that she was on her way to the bar to meet her and celebrate. She needs to get away from all this, a vacation perhaps, a chance to get over it without seeing memories everywhere she looks.
So her friend offers her a solution. She can stay at her brother’s house in Washington, in the middle of nowhere, and unwind. All it would cost her was a plane ticket. She hadn’t realize that Angie’s brother would still be there, however, but Angie assured her he was quiet. And Alex Olsen was actually as broken as Chloe. He had agreed with his sister’s request, but had wanted nothing to do with Chloe. But face-to-face and soaking wet in the pouring rain, there was something drawing both of them closer. How could he possibly turn her away now? And maybe having that quiet connection was what they both needed to heal.

Alex was an amazing story of new beginnings. Nyla Lily has written another 5 star read. After being dumped by her husband, Chloe needed an escape so she agrees to stay at her friend's childhood home in the mountains. The only condition is that her friend's brother, Alex is living there. Alex is dealing with his own loss and is surprised at the connection he feels to Chloe. Could Alex and Chloe find happiness again with each other? Loved this story and I definitely recommend it!
This was a pretty good story. Moved fairly quickly, not much backstory and felt like it ended with a HFN rather than hea... I'm just going to assume it's a hea because I want to! I really think the author should have at least had him say I love you back at the end, I would have liked that much better but overall this was a good quick read.
Story was good, I just wish it had more backstory because there is almost none given. Needs a small amount of editing. I totally like the main characters—two people having to deal with pain.
When her divorce in final, Chloe knows that she needs to get away from all the memories haunting her. Her best friend, Angie, sends her up to the home of her brother, Alex. He has his own heartache but when Chloe first arrives, he is drawn to her against his will. They become friends but as they spend more time together, maybe they can help each other heal.

Not as good as the other ones like “Luke” and “Henry” due to too many typos (see yellow highlighted notes). Hard to read if you’re a grammar perfectionist although imperfect. If I wasn’t sure what was meant, I just put question marks ⁉️ [However, I loved Luke and Henry as I recall, great characters!]
