I met the author of this book years ago in Harlem. He signed one of his earlier novels and was very chill and pleasant. He's a great author. I've tried to get my hands on a copy of this book for years. The ending of the prequel had me in suspense. I wasn't aware of how much time had passed until there was mention of a Blackberry while I was reading.
I can't lie and say I remembered anything. But it was good reading about these characters (and a few new ones) again.
On one hand the gaps in time through the different POV's were great. Sometimes you don't have to know the characters every move. But at the end? There were some loose ends. Roscoe went away with the nurse. But there wasn't any closure.
Also, Camille and Cream. It was irritating to read her say "I'm not in the mood for this." to him every time he called. A lot of women would read a man that cheated on them the riot act after he had the audacity to cheat, possibly get another woman pregnant AND get jealous of her dating someone else herself?
Their conversations didn't ring true.
Nonetheless, that (and the typos and errors) aside... It's a good satisfying read. 3.5 stars

Good storyline but hard to read

I enjoyed the sequel but the grammatical errors and mixing up the names made it hard to read at times.

So good! I'm so glad I finally got to read the sequel & get closure with the characters I fell in love with in the first one! Plus we're introduced to quite a few new characters but it all relates & is connected! Just as good & exciting as the first one & I absolutely loved it like I love all of his books. My favorite author in the world!
