1.A mismanaged and chaotic situation 2.A complexly muddled mess 3.A disordered and hectic condition 4.Misty Hansen’s life
Lonely. Alone. By herself.
The top three ways Misty had to describe herself—and it was no coincidence they all meant the same thing. She was single, almost pathetically so. It had been so long since she’d been with a man, she wasn’t sure she could even remember what it was like.
Hell, dust might float out if she took off her pants in the presence of the opposite sex.
She was also well aware that she was lucky to have a place to live, a great brother, and awesome friends. She should just be content.
But then she crashed into Chance—literally crashed—into the gorgeous man’s SUV, totaling it, and managing to cause damage to her brother’s house, all in one fell swoop.

5 Star Review Clusterf*@k (Life Sucks #4) by Elise Faber
I was hooked on the story that Elise Faber wove from the first chapter. Poor Misty, to say her life is off the rails is an understatement. No matter how hard she tries things always seem to go wrong. The latest is crashing into Chance's SUV and damaging her brother’s house at the same time.
I loved Misty and Chance both separately and together. From the moment they met the sparks flew and the chemistry between them intensifies each time. There was a good combination of humor, suspense, romance and heat and I was riveted to the story.
I really liked Misty, she stands up for what she believes in and isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. Chance was totally swoon worthy and I love how protective he was of Misty. There were moments which had me laughing out loud as well as shaking my head and the twists and turns sprinkled throughout (some of which I wasn’t expecting) added and additional layer to my reading pleasure.
This was a great addition to the series and one I happily recommend.
Misty is feeling a bit blue - jealous of her brother and sister-in-law's happiness (Rob and Sophie from Dumpster Fire), even while she's happy for them - when she rushes out of their house and backs her car into an incoming SUV. Sigh...now what is she going to do? She just paid off her car, and so cannot afford to pay for a new SUV to replace the one she just totaled AND her brother's garage door, the door her newly crashed car ran into after the accident, because she forgot to put her car into park after the wreck. Yep, her life is a cluster. But, one good thing came of it. The guy she crashed into just happens to be the most gorgeous man she's ever seen, and seems to be intent on getting her to go on a date with him. She can't though, because Chance is her new sister-in-law's brother, and she's not about to complicate her like that. Or is she?
Chance is mesmerized by the beauty who just crashed into him. He will get her into his life, even if he has to call her out in front of both their families to do it. But, he doesn't do love or relationships, he's all about fun, f-ing, and friendship and Misty is nothing if not the forever kind of woman. Can he convince her to just do fun ending in friendship? Or will his heart soon realize he cannot do without her, and tell him not to be so scared of commitment?
Elise's stories and characters always draw me in, so I'm not surprised I ended up liking Misty and Chance (and his brothers and parents) so much. She's sweet, independent, and strong, and I was so excited for her to capture that elusive happiness she was envying of her brother's. Chance, though he may have been against commitment at the beginning, couldn't have fallen harder or faster, but he was so sweet and swoon-worthy with Misty that I couldn't have held it against him for long. This series has been such a great one so far, and Cluster just made it all the better. Now I'm really excited for Misty's friend Maggie's story (Fubar) with Chance's brother, Carter.
Clusterf*@k is the 4th book in the Life Sucks series and can be read as a standalone. Misty and Chance are on a collision course to romance as soon as she literally totals his car with hers while backing out of her brother’s drive way.
Misty is a girl that just can’t seem to catch a break - especially in the romance department. Everyone around her is finding their happily ever after and she just can’t seem to find the one. This book was a super sweet romance with lots of emotional angst, mostly stemming from wanting different things (in the beginning) and misunderstandings. I found it to be a little slow, but it was well written and had a sweet HEA.
Simple, sweet, with tons of heat, a hot alpha male, and a bit of drama. This book has everything I love. It has everything that keeps me turning page after page.
Chance and Misty meet when she crashes into him after feeling sorry for herself. It was a meet cute with an epic crash. Well worth it in Chance's book. I adored these two because even after everything they still held true to each other. They were there when the other needed them. They fell in love and weren't afraid to hide it.
I'm loving the Jackson family (though there are 3 brothers I know absolutely nothing about) and am looking forward to Carter's book.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
When Misty Hansen crashed her car into Chance Jackson, she has no idea that her life is about to change. Chance might be her sister in laws brother but he knows that he wants Misty. Can he convince her to take a chance on him? Will Misty act on the chemistry between them? This was a read that entertained me from start to finish. The instant attraction and chemistry between them was hot. Throw in some incidents to test their relationship and you've got a read that is all rounded with great characters and a needed HEA
When life gives you lemons love can make lemonade. Faber tells it like it is with some sage advice, some spicy heartache and an ever evolving romance. You can't help but give your heart over to Clusterf*@k.
CLUSTERF*@K is the fourth book in the Life Sucks series and is another winner from Elise Faber.
Misty is feeling lonesome and, maybe, just a tad jealous at seeing her brother and sister-in-law so happy. Although she has lots to be grateful for, a relationship isn't one of them. So when she reverses into Chance's car and he states his interest in front of everyone, Misty's world is about to turn upside-down.
You know, if you are lucky enough, you will happen along an author that just ticks every box. Elise Faber is one of those for me. I found Ms Faber through her Phoenix series, a superb paranormal romance set, but since then, every book I've read I have thoroughly enjoyed. I don't usually 'do' contemporary romance. MM Contemporary? Yep. Romantic Suspense? Absolutely. But for some reason, 'normal' contemporary romance doesn't seem to work UNLESS I'm reading a Faber book. There is something about her writing style, how the story is character-driven, that draws me in and certainly doesn't leave me wanting.
Misty and Chance have their disagreements, and yes, Chance messed up to begin with, but both of these are straight shooters. They don't play games, they don't act coy. What they want, they let you know about. This made their story worth reading. And not only that, but I now need to know the stories for Raven, Frankie, and Maggie! (Psst, Maggie is the next one!)
Full of humour, steam, family moments, and a warmth that seeped through my Kindle, Clusterf*@k was a fantastic read that I have no hesitation in recommending. Absolutely brilliant.

The top three ways Misty had to describe herself—and it was no coincidence they all meant the same thing. She was single, almost pathetically so. It had been so long since she’d been with a man, she wasn’t sure she could even remember what it was like. But then she crashed into Chance—literally crashed—into the gorgeous man’s SUV, totaling it, and managing to cause damage to her brother’s house, all in one fell swoop. It was a total clusterf*@k. Because then the man ended up totaling her heart.
Misty is a small business owner who has watched several people close to her find love an happiness. While she is is happy for them, part of her is jealous because she feel both lonely and alone. After attempting to flee a party at her brothers house she crashes into Chance her brother in law. There is an instant attraction, but she is embarrassed because of the accident. Chance asks her out, but Misty refuses because of the family connection. She does not want things to become awkward if things do not work out between them.
Chance is a for FBI agent and certified bachelor. He believe in fun and friendships. He sleeps with women, has fun with them but always leaves them as friends. His life does not leave rom for anything else. After Misty runs into his truck he can help but want to have fun with her. But after their first date he knew things with Misty would be different. She makes him want something he never wanted before.
This was a good book. The other pulled you into the story immediately. There was an instant connect between Chance and Misty that made you want to see them both happy. There were some misunderstandings and some unexpected events. But they were able to communicate and work through them. The only reason this didn't get five stars from me is all of the side notes or comments in parentheses. Many of the did no feel like they added to the story and some work long enough that they could have been just added to story. I found myself wanting to skip over them.
Overall the book was a good read and had an HEA. This book can be read as a stand a lone but I will go back ad read the others. I cant wait for Carter and Maggie's story.
The female lead of "Clusterf*@k," yarn store owner Misty Hansen, was introduced in the previous book of the series, and she was one of the highlights of that story for me. I was really looking forward to getting to know her better in this book. Early on, I found her stubbornness to be somewhat bothersome; while I totally understood and empathized with her desire to fix (and pay for) her own mistakes, there was something about the way Misty kept refusing her family's help that seemed rude to me. Once I got past that, however, I really appreciated her strength, determination, and kindness. She wore her heart on her sleeve, and it was quickly captured by swoon-worthy private investigator Chance Jackson.
I really liked Chance and Misty as a couple, though in some ways it felt like everything came together a bit too easily for them after they started dating. Their one true conflict, when Chance disappeared for two weeks after their first date without telling Misty that he'd be away for work, was resolved quickly, and after that their only "fights" were over silly things like how to split bills after moving in together. Fortunately, there were some unexpected plot twists to keep things interesting, and I enjoyed the way Misty and Chance handled them together.
While the previous book of the series remains my favorite, I enjoyed and would recommend "Clusterf*@k" for all fans of contemporary romance, romantic comedy, and even light romantic suspense. I look forward to the next book in the series.

I loved this read by Elise it had everything from laughs, romance along with suspense and thrill. Misty meets Chance by accident as in hitting his car when leaving her brother's house. Not only that while getting out to exchange details with Chance she forgets to put the handbrake on in her car. Now she finds her car speeding down the hilly driveway crashing into her brother's house. It was one big clusterf**k writing off Chance's car and damaging her brother's house. Chance asks her out on a date and even that goes wrong with misunderstandings between the two. Elise owns her own wool shop and Chace is an undercover P.I. Therefore things don't always go to plan with Chance's work calling him away at short notice. Chance is very protective of Misty and loves spending as much time with her as he can even helping her out in her shop when he can. I received an arc for my honest review for NNBB. If you love a hot romance with an alpha male who meets his match in Misty with some twists and turns. Life never seems to run smoothly for Misty at times will she end up with her happy ever after.
Fantastic read! Misty really captured my heart from the first few paragraphs having been in the miserable place where you are around happy couples having (or recently have had) a baby and you feel left out and alone. Then life gives her another couple hits when she crashes her car into Carter, totaling his SUV and then crashing into her brother’s garage door of his brand new house. Oy!
Chance has never been interested in more than easy, flirty fun hooks ups and then moving on, but Misty catches his attention and makes him strongly consider wanting more.
These two are fantastic together and the moments in between that car crash and the final chapter are so fun to read about. Their are unexpected moments, misunderstandings, chances to grow and many moments of laughter, steamy times and love.
Seeing more of Rob (Misty’s brother) and Sophie (Chance’s sister) along with her girlfriends was an added bonus. I’ve enjoyed all the characters in this series and love getting to see them involved in additional books. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series - FUBAR with Carter and Maggie.
I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Misty is happy for her brother and sil and their pregnancy announcement but she’s also feeling sorry for herself and is just jealous! She wants that too. Happy that she has her own business, a house and a paid off car but she wants more. So feeling bummed she rushes out of her brother’s house, gets in her car, backs out and crunch. She runs into a big suv and now it has lots of smoke coming from it but out gets this really good looking guy. To add insult to injury her car rolls into her brother’s garage door. Chance is Sophia’s (her sil) brother and isn’t concerned about his suv telling her not to worry either but she does. Her paid off car is now damaged, Chance’s is totaled and her brother’s garage is damaged. It's just too much to handle. Lol Chance is smitten by Misty and is there every time she turns around. Chance is just a great guy and soon Misty is seeing that too. Their story is sweet, but there’s also some twists and heart pounding you don’t expect.
Misty has a business she loves, is surrounded by closed friends and due to her past is very close to her brother however what she would really like is a man to share her future with. While visiting her brother and sister in-law she has a night she will never forget as not only does she bump into her brother in-law’s car, but she forgets to put the car in park and damages her brother’s house as well.
Chance isn’t looking for love, but he is enchanted by Misty and when she won’t go out with him, he has her brother and his family convince her. When a misunderstanding occurs after their date Chance realizes how special she is and that he wants much more than a night with her but first they have some obstacles to overcome.
Romance and danger combine as Misty’s feisty personality is a perfect match for the protector in Chance as they prove the lengths that they would go to for each other and to be together.
Oh Misty. She's over the moon happy that her brother found love after the tragic loss of his first wife, and she LOVES his new bride...but she's struggling to find her own happy. In no mood for socializing, she sneaks out of her brothers beach party. And promptly backs her car straight into Chance's SUV.
Late showing up for his sister's party, Chance finds himself completely captivated by the woman who backed into his car. The two have an instant chemistry that you can feel throughout the entire book. Chance has never wanted someone serious in his life because of the danger in his job, but he absolutely cannot resist the pull he feels towards Misty.
And despite an early misunderstanding, the two are virtually inseparable from the moment they connect. Chance is protective and absolutely adores everything about Misty, but she proves to be incredibly strong and resourceful. This couple definitely deserve their happy ending.... and I can not WAIT to see where this series will go.
I really enjoy this series and it was no different with this fourth book in it. I really liked Chance and Misty. I can tell you I would so be friends with her in a heartbeat. I love the color purple, I knit, I love yarn, and I like to bake. Misty is a stand out character for me. I knew I was going to like this one based on how Misty and Chance met. It's quite memorable. Some twists in this one that had me gasping that's for sure. This book has plenty of heart and humor, but the chemistry between Misty and Chance is off the charts hot! They have such a great connection those moments are beautiful as well. This was such a great addition to the series. Man does the tease for the next book have me wanting it now! It's going to be a good one. I would recommend this book because the characters are going to pull you in. Plus we get to see how some of the previous characters in the series are enjoying their HEAs.
ClusterF*@ck is such an amazing read. I loved this one so much. You have so much heat and sparks flying off of Misty and Chance the moment they meet. You will love every moment of what Elise Faber brings with Misty and Chance. They are so hot together you will be fanning yourself over and over again. There are plenty of giggle moments to go with those fanning moments and of course a little suspense to keep you on your toes. Chance is so swoon worthy in every way. I love how he cares for Misty and is not afraid to show it. Misty is just this ball of energy who is not afraid to speak her mind even when it comes down to Chance. This is one of those instant at first sight lust filled falls in love that you will just be sucked into. I could not get enough of Misty and Chance. They have to be my favorite couple so far in the Life Sucks series. I cannot wait for Carter's book.
Such a fun, honest-about-my-feelings kind of story! Sometimes you really want a story where the MC’s are just upfront and unpretentious with one another. Sometimes you just want two genuine people with lives you can relate to. (With a little excitement thrown in.). And maybe in this COVID time, that’s something that we all crave; a story that reflects some semblance of normalcy with some awesome chemistry, great supporting characters and a wonderful small-town setting thrown in.
Yes, far out fantasy (paranormal, aliens, etc.) can be entertaining but so is a thoroughly heartwarming story with characters you can definitely identify with!
So...grab this one, make yourself some tea/coffee/drink of your choice, and ENJOY!
Clusterf*@k is book four in the Life Sucks Series but it can certainly be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone, this is Misty and Chance’s story. Their story starts with a bang and I mean literally because Misty drive’s into the back of Chance’s SUV and what follows is a wonderful, entertaining journey. Misty can’t believe how many things are going wrong in her life and running into the back of this SUV is the final straw but from the moment she meets the man who car she has damaged sparks fly, the attraction is instant snd the chemistry is sizzling but what takes this book to another level is the mystery and suspense that Elise Faber has woven into this story. This book ticked all my boxes, it’s steamy, it has a swoon worthy hero and a strong, sassy heroine, it’s witty, it’s full of love and when you add in the suspense you get a perfect read so I guess all I need to say is I highly recommend this gem of a read and it’s a great addition to the series.
I swear Elise Faber is turning into one of my favorite authors. Each time I see her book on my kindle I feel like a kid in candy shop.
I fell in love with Misty right from the get go. She might seem like shy and someone who needs protection but she was also strong, kind and intuitive. Chance took a like to her right from the get go. He knew she was special and wouldn't take no for an answer. The attraction and chemistry was spot on and it brought me so much joy to see them getting the HEA that for a second seemed lost.
Now I'm going to lose my mind before next book in the series comes out because I have a feeling we haven't seen nothing yet.

This is the fourth book in this amazing series and is Chance and Misty’s story. Misty is alone and feeling a tad jealous of her brothers’ happiness, and nothing seems to be going right for her at the moment, and when she manages to smash into Chance’s SUV wrecking it, she also crashes and damages her brothers’ house. Sparks fly between Chance and Misty and the chemistry between them is combustible and undeniable. This is a well written story which is filled with family, friendships, humor, romance, suspense, twists & turns, and a tad drama, which all leads to an entertaining and all-consuming addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I always highly recommend.
light romance with a mixture of humor, angst and suspense.
Chance likes his relationships fun, friendly and f*king. When Misty literally ran into him, he was immediately taken with her. Then he realized that this would not work. She was the sister of his sister’s husband. And he wasn’t going to do anything to mess up that relationship
Misty’s life was a mess. And to top it all off she just backed into the SUV of her brother’s brother-in-law. While dumbstruck by his looks and the situation, she forgot to put her car in park. Now her brother’s garage is looking worse for where. Things could only get better, right?
Elise Faber has crafted a light romance with a mixture of humor, angst and suspense.
This was an attention-grabbing book from the beginning. The tension between Chance and Misty was instantaneous with a slow-burn romance. Chance was a love em and leave em type of guy, but Misty made him want more. His fear of dying and leaving a family behind didn’t seem as important any longer as compared to his fear of living without Misty. Misty was cautious and wary of Chance and his attention. She did not want any conflict between their family and friends if their relationship went bad. From the beginning, I was cheering Misty on. She was so upset because all her friends had found their forever afters and she was still looking. I was so glad to see Misty and Chance get theirs. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Misty has it all. A successful business, a great brother and sister in law. Wonderful friends. Yet she feels incomplete. Chance has a loving family and a job that takes over his entire purpose. Until he has a chance encounter with Misty. Both of them are instantly drawn together, yet aware of the challenges and walls between them. Watching the story unfold was very entertaining. The author has created characters that I laughed, cried and scolded as I read. Great storyline. Fun read.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Honestly, I wish I had read the previous books in this series and will likely go back. This was a hit.
Loving these books and they just get better and better
Misty is just having a rough day, and when she crashes into Chance Jackson's SUV while leaving her brother's house it can't get much worse, can it? Chance is her sister-in-law's brother and is drop dead gorgeous. He's also a big flirt and totally not into dating. Chance has his three Fs rule but something about Misty is changing that for him. When she is in danger will Chance realize there is more to life than the three Fs and will Misty open herself up to having it all with him?
Their banter is absolutley hilarious and makes the book that much better.
Misty literally crashed her car into Chase's and this is where the story starts. Misty while happy for her brother is also feeling sorry for herself. Chase can't help his attraction to her but doesn't want anything serious...and yet once he starts he can't stop the feelings.
Chase and Misty are two fun characters on their own, but even better together. I have not read any other books in this series and yet I felt comfortable with this one and not like I missed out on anything. (I didn't even know it was a further book until reading some other reviews).... told in dual POV...which is my favorite because you really get inside both of their heads.
This is book 4 in the life sucks series, but it can be read as a standalone. I do highly recommend reading the previous 3 so you can meet the other amazing characters and get their back stories. This book is about Misty and Chance. Misty is Rob's sister from Dumpster fire and Chance is Soph's brother from. The same book. Misty is feeling lonely and jealous of the happiness Rob has with Soph until she literally (like with a car literally) runs into Chance. I love how realistic and clutzy Misty is, Elise makes it so easy to relate to her characters. Elise also creates an amazing setting with the town of Stoneybrook. This one is a must read for romance fans.
This book delivered the perfect blend of swoon worthy romance, melt your heart feels and laugh-out-loud moments to put a smile on my face and some much needed joy in my heart. I have to say that I'm really enjoying this series. Its sarcastic take on life highly appeals to me and I think most people will truly be able to relate. There's plenty of sparks and sizzle between Misty and Chance and I fell hard for them. The storyline was fun, cute and filled with heart and emotions. This was a really excellent book that was a treat to read. I am posting a candid, freely posted review.
This is the first read for me from this series, it can be read as a stand alone and I don't feel like I missed anything. I did enjoy the read so much that I will go back and start at the beginning of the series and keep going to the next. This book had some shake your head, laugh out loud moments. I found myself smiling through a lot of this book. There were a lot of twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. I loved the chemistry between Chase and Misty. The side characters were amazing as well. Really great read!!
This was such a sweet story full of heart, comedy, suspense and the perfect amount of spice! I love how the story was woven and how we got to know the characters before diving into the spice. I also love how they fought against outside forces and were there for each other when they needed it. I truly ley love this book/series.
This is not the first book in the series but it can be read as a complete stand alone. You will just know more of the secondary characters if you have read the other books. One you read this book though you will want to go read all of the other ones.
Clusterf*@k may start of with a bang, but it really is a sweet, heartwarming love story with a twist of humor and a touch of danger and I enjoyed every bit of it. Chance has never been willing to risk his heart, but when Misty came into his life she completely broke down all those walls. She is sweet, sassy, independent and everything he never thought he needed or wanted and together they have that special something that can’t be explained or denied. “When it was the right woman, a man didn’t have a choice to not get in deep” - Chance’s realization
