We know lil of Merrick from the seal book but now it's his turn he has a mission and he was spotted by Audrey who seen his face and talked to him. Now he has to kidnap her for 2 reasons to keep her safe and because he's already sprung for her and it's alil hard when her friend family and hubs are seals or ex seals. But that doesnt stop him from carrying out what he has to do.
The tension is high between them at the house has Aubrey showing her claws for 2.5 seconds before purring and boy that snark and sassyiness changed.. I do wish she would have tried to escape more then once on that plane.. just to see her tempted and tease her.

Merrick is an ex Navy Seal turned hitman for Ruthless Corp, working for Rogue. As a favor he goes to check out a missing girl’s dorm room, there he runs into Audrey in the hall. She has been worried about her neighbor going missing and no one is taking it seriously. As a rule Merrick always remains in the shadows and is unseen, but he stopped and talked to Aubrey, she can identify him so he takes her. He does have to drug her to get her away quietly. Their banter is funny, she’s sassy and strong willed but their attraction makes her a docile kitten. Their sexy times are hot, she’s a virgin, no manwhore. She even doesn’t mind his career as long as he stays safe. He chooses to leave being a hitman to be her husband and baby daddy. Epilogues with her giving birth to their son and years later with their daughter going to prom. It was fun seeing characters from other books integrated into the story.

Loved by the Hitman is the second book in the Black Ops series, where Alpha hotties instantly fall in love and fight the bad guys for their love.
Fiona Davenport delivers quick tales of unrealistic intsa love. BUT if you read them for what they are, they can be a bit of fun even if there are bad guys, to give you the break you need for just a few hours.
There is some drama, some fun, and sexy times ahead.
A lustfest intertwining with a plot. Merrick is an assassin, once he knew he was going to kidnap Audrey, he didn’t waste any time; less than a week later, he executed the perfect plan to abduct her from a crowded church during her best friend’s Grace’s wedding.
Audrey Cantrell is suspicious when her friend Stacey went mysteriously missing from campus. Initially, Stacey went to the police a month before because this bloke was harassing her, unwilling to offer any details to Audrey because she said Audrey would be in grave danger if she knew too much. Rumours around campus were that Paul Barrington, her would be assailant was either pressuring her into selling drugs or something worse.
He selects isolated women, pretending an interest in his victims by telling them whatever is necessary to lure them.
The police were indifferent saying that she’s an adult; they filed the obligatory missing person’s report and promptly moved it to the bottom of the pile.
Paul Barrington was twisted, involved in drugs, trafficking—weapons and women—he owned a dungeon and sex clubs. Speculation was that some people who went in left bruised, bloody, and broken. Others didn’t survive. Yet he’d never been convicted of a crime, not even a speeding ticket, courtesy of his corrupt father, a politician who collected secrets and favours.
Merrick’s job was typically getting in and out, with a talent for disappearing into the shadows—his job description had come with an in-person reconnaissance for the missing girl. They figured he could do it without being detected...instead he stopped and spoke with Audrey dispelling that notion…so, he abducts her.
She’s been kidnapped, drugged, flown across the country—spanked, and brought to a place she had very little hope of escaping, judging by the security measures she’d noted.
Merrick was part of the Navy SEALs but his team was betrayed after their last mission. They were running a black op but their identities were compromised to a terrorist organisation. As the members of his team scrambled to get their families to safety, he began relentlessly hunting the traitor who betrayed them.
Her best friend, Grace’s father, Jonah hired him to avoid risking the job being traced back to him. He wasn’t hired to find her friend. His job was eliminating the threat of Barrington. Looking into her friend’s disappearance was strictly a favour from his employer to Jonah.
The intimidation tactics applied during the Epilogue as his sixteen year-old daughter goes on her first date was over-the-top absurdity.

A dominant alpha hero who wants the heroine so much he kidnaps her?!? YASSSSSSS, please!!!! Gimme, gimme, gimme!!!!! I want more of this trope!!
Safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned, but it comes off as if he’s celibate. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to the hero. No others, no cheating or abuse. HEA with epilogue years out.
Now, see, lines like this are how I know I'm severely deficient in 'FMC Energy'. I mean, I'd need at least 24 hours for the terror to subside and the Stockholm Syndrome to kick in. 🤣🤣
Meanwhile FMCs are out here like,
"He's a 10 but I'll probably wind up in his freezer." 🚩🤷♀️🥵🤸♀️🛏
Merrick & Audrey are almost too hot for your kindle! Just warning ya! ; )
Really fun, quick read. I love their interactions & the way he kidnaps her. IRL, I would not love that scenario, but in booklandia, knowing his thoughts, I was okay with it. And Audrey's reaction to learning they knew some of the same ppl was honestly hilarious to me!
Super short, super smexy instalove. Could've had a little more for the story. Basically, he's contacted to do a hit, she sees his face, he decides he wants to keep her rather than kill her... And lots of smexy ensues, lol. 🤷🏻♀️
4.4 stars. This was so good! I absolutely loved Merrick. He’s got that perfect combo of sweet and dominant that just makes me wanna swoon like some cliche southern belle. After getting that tease of a phone call with Huntley and Merrick in Saved by the SEAL I was super excited to see Merrick and Audrey’s HEA. And it did not disappoint.
A smutty good time was had by all.
There’s some spanking, a very lighthearted kidnapping, and heaps of insta love soulmate vibes.
Merrick is a shadow, until he is caught in Audrey's light
Merrick is dark, depraved and naughty in all the best ways, as Audrey finds out! Audrey is packed full of fire and sass, she is loud and independent, something she will never lose no matter how many times Merrick spanks her....not that she enjoys being spanked....honest! A great addition to the series, I love that Merrick finds his match, I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
A short, steamy, and exciting romance. I usually devour Fiona Davenport's stories and this was no different. Although I didn't feel the connection between Merrick and Audrey at first and I thought she gave in way too easily, the story is easy to read and moves quickly which I loved. I then couldn't stop because of the heat but loved seeing some of his other buddies enter the mix, especially Deacon. Then I couldn't stop laughing. I am so hoping Deacon's story is next.
-Hitman & virgin -dominate, possesive H -He kidnaps her -instalove (basically a overnight thing) -decent story line for a quick read -the writing is ok. Not the best I’ve read but it’s not horrible to where it’s choppy and makes no sense. -Steamy bedroom scenes
Loved the dirty dirty smexxxxy times. Wish the Insta live wasn't so Insta 😂🤷 merrick kidnaps her by drugging her if that's a trigger for readers but I loved it. The epilogue where his daughter is dating is hilarious
If you love your romance with insta love, over the top Alpha’s, steam that’ll have you blushing and reaching for a fan. Then stop. The awesomeness that is Fiona D deliver effortlessly.
No cheating, that a guaranteed happily ever after.
the classic kidnapper x kidnapee romance. one of my favorites. i enjoyed some aspects of the book, and it certainly started out great. what ruined it for me was how passive the heroine was. i know she "threw caution to the wind" but honestly she should've at least hesitated a bit before giving her virginity to the stranger who just abducted her. and she didn't try to get away from him at all. she even talked to her friend on the phone and she could've let her know what's happened but she just didn't. and of course when a kidnapper tells you he took you to keep you safe, you should immediately trust that he's telling the truth, right? that's what the heroine does, anyway. oh and i almost forgot that when he tells her that he's a hitman, she's not scared - she's WORRIED about him. im not even joking. this strange man who kidnapped her and says she's never getting away, tells her he kills people for a living and she's like "im worried about your victims killing you instead and also you don't need to stop contract killing for my sake, you can continue if that's what you want". she's SO DUMB. zero braincells. so super passive.

Fabulous, absolutely love this one. A nice quick short read.
Merrick meets Audrey when he's on an assignment, she lives in the dorm room next to the one he's investigating, she sees Merrick. He has no choice after he sees her but to kidnapper her and make her his. He finds everything out about her, and attends her best friends, Grace's wedding One Love. He sets off the fire alarm and while everyone is running out the front doors he grabs Audrey and takes her out the back door. He sedates her and takes her on a plane to LA. They arrive at his home, he shows her around ending in the bedroom. He begins to pleasure her, and then they get physical. Merrick gets a message from Rogue he has a job for him to do but because Audrey is in his home he doesn't want to leave her. He tells her she can come and go as she wants but she can't leave his home. He tells her it's for her safety. He wakes her up the next morning, and gets her into the bath to soak. He makes breakfast for her and tells her to come eat when she is done. Afterwords Merrick calls Rogue back about the job, he needs him on this, but Merrick doesn't want to leave Audrey. He finds out the target has a hostage, after he does a little digging he finds out one of his former teammate is waiting his target. Merrick calls him and makes him a deal, and he takes it. Audrey wakes up and head downstairs to hear Merrick on the phone with someone. After his phone call he know he needs to tell her what he does for a living. So he takes her into the living room and lets her asks her questions. She tells him she doesn't want him not to come home one day. He tells her he was planning on retiring after he found her. She tells him she loves him and he tells her he loves her too. He tells her they will be getting married, she tells him she'll marry him and he tells her she doesn't have a choice. They get married shortly after, nine months later Audrey give birth to a son then four years later a daughter.

I have a few books from this series and I loved them all (I’m reading out of order, not on purpose I just didn’t pay attention lol) but this book was a little hard for me to get into. I typically put myself into the heroines roll while I read. So I’m my head, it’s like the story is happening to me. That being said, I didn’t really care for the way Audrey just went along. Like Merrick freaking drugged her and she didn’t have a whole hell of a lot to say? He would’ve had to have killed me because I would’ve been tryin to fuck his world up. No matter his reasons that shit would NOT have flown. And situations like this happen throughout the story. She just accepts things. I am NOT kink shaming but if my bf spanked my ass so many times and so hard that it hurt to sit down the next day, I’d fuckin throat punch his ass. But all of this is simply my opinion and I realize that my brain is weird with how it functions lol. But I did finish this book and I’ll more than likely end up rereading it. It wasn’t horrible, I liked it. It was just hard for me to put my personality into Audrey’s character.
