i finished it so fast. it’s easy to read, light, but full of lessons. i relate a lot to both azariah and jadon. i’m kinda like jadon who doesn’t really know what the future holds, not sure what i’ll be doing years from now, but just focusing more on the present. but i’m also like azariah—struggling to study and do better, not because my parents are strict, but because i can’t bear the thought of disappointing them. i get both of their points and feelings so much.

i really love how jadon tries to do better for azariah. that’s such a major green flag. they fill in each other’s gaps and make up for what the other lacks. it’s just so touching how jadon waited for her, how they just went on without labels but only with a promise—that he’ll wait for her after she graduates. that’s rare. i wonder if there are still a lot of guys like that out there. i’m sure there are, and i hope i find mine too.

war had begun isn’t just about romance, it’s about patience, growth, and loving someone enough to give them the time and space they need. it’s the kind of story that makes you believe in quiet but deep love.
