We met in the midst of a revenge plot. Dakota Wells saved me after I made a complete fool of myself. And despite meeting me in absolute shambles, he thought I was worth getting to know. But, I've quit dating guys on the football team. We can't be anything more than friends. Because no matter how kind, smart, or hot he is, I've sworn off all risks for the foreseeable future.... Unfortunately, Dakota's good at making me rethink everything. He knows exactly what to say, what to do, and how to touch me in ways I've only dreamed. He's persistent and focused on giving me any and everything I want. Falling for someone again is terrifying. Especially when the man you're falling for is keeping something hidden. He was a part of something big last year. Our pasts intersect in ways I never thought possible. I soon learn he's more than just a sweet guy. Dakota carries a secret that could break him. A secret that could split us if he doesn't face it. ____
Just Fall For Me is a college sports romance featuring a curvy heroine and a football player with a heart of gold. This is book two of the Westbrooke Angels series.
There are so many reasons why I love this book. One is that I feel seen without the author going into physical description for the heroine. I could relate to the heroine in so many ways. Another reason I love it is because the story is so original. There was no been there, done that moments. Forewarning, this is a slow burn. But worth it in so many ways. I've found another author to love.
I have figured out why this series and this author won't reach four stars from me any time soon. I've read three of books from her, and I always come away with the mentality of sooo close to being decent. Now, I know that I must think of her books in these terms in order for me to be content with them. They aren't romance books. I don't know what you would classify them as, but not romance. The singular POV of the female lead just absolutely cripples the story for a romance genre. Now if I read it in the perspective of this is solely about a female lead finding herself and dealing with all that comes with it, you'll enjoy Ms. Grey's books. Do not go in, I REPEAT, do not go in thinking you're going to read a panty dropping, steamy romance or heck even a romance that makes your heart melt and a smile stay plastered on your face. These stories about the development of women (mentally, physically, emotionally point blank period) the entanglements with the men are kind of meh...just there. Which at the end of it all could be a nice break from whatever romance genre you're reading.
The story was about Emmy starting over and figuring out things for herself. Dakota was not what she expected from a jock, as he showed over and over by sticking around even if it was as a friend. I always love when the charcters start out as friends first. I like how the author made their background part of the story by giving the characters life outside of each other. Like there were other people to read about too.T he story touched on some of the darker parts of campus life, while building the romance respectively. Both of the main characters had experienced trauma in different ways, but it didn't keep them from each other.
I'm usually a fast reader but this book took me several weeks to read. I bought both books at the same time last year. I realize that this was the second book in Westbrooke Angels series, and I should have read Book 1 first. I don't know why I read this one first. Even for a standalone, there were some things that puzzled me and I kept repeating to see if I missed anything.
I loved Emmy and Dakota for each other. I forgot her name was really Emelia which fits her. The name Emmy doesn't fit her and bothered me the entire book and I finally re-read enough to know her name was Emelia.
I usually don't keep reading a book if I have to re-read so much to follow it. I really liked the book, but there was too much missing because of me reading them out of order. I'm going to read the first book, quickly reread this one so that I can do a better job of reviewing it.
I loved Dakota and Emmy's love story. I would have rated it 5 stars but I had to give it 4 stars.
I liked the chemistry between the two MCs and especially the banter. Plus a round of applause for a romance book without a third act breakup. *Chef's kiss for that*
I wish Ms Grey dived deeper into Dakota's story instead of touching on the subject of his SA after the documentary screening. Secondly, I left the book without an in depth description of Emmy's sign. Lastly, our Heroine has a low cut hairstyle in the book but on the cover, mid back hair.
Other than that, I would definitely recommend this book.
P.S. Ms Grey, if you come across this review and plan on doing another book in this Westbrooke Angels series, can we get the next book with POV from both MCs?
Thanks in advance.

I did not care for this book, but this book wasn’t written for me as the audience. I say it’s one step beyond YA because of the sex and some of the subject matter. However, even with the subject matter, the storytelling is juvenile. Deep issues are handled tritely meanwhile teenage problems (like popularity and who’s going to be team captain) are given lengthy coverage. I honestly skipped through a lot of the book just to get through it, I read the first in the series and should have stopped there. College age students may enjoy it, though.
If you haven't read book one just please me you won' know the plot to this story. This book is a page Turner it's a good read the characters are great got a lot of ups and downs but at the end you will have a happy ending .
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Liked the characters and how they seemed made for one another despite the secret between them. I haven't read the first book, but after a bit of confusion in the beginning, things made sense. Will probably read the series.

😭😭😭 I just love the communication in this book. Thank God, no third act break up ❤️. Emmy rediscovering her passions and reach out to other people 😩 I love it so much. I really wished I got Dakota’s point of view with everything that he was going through. I am glad he became comfortable enough to share with Emmy and he was just a sweetheart in his book.

The story was actually really interesting and the backstory or build up story is also very fitting. Each character is unique and interesting in their own way and the story definitely grabs your attention and keeps you wanting more.
2.5 stars: read very similarly to the other book by this author I read. The characters felt young to me and a little bit of "not like other girls" syndrome, but I did appreciate that it tried to address some serious issues on college campuses.
A little long winded for me. I skipped quite a bit. It could be because I'm not a big fan of teen or college romances. But gave this one a try. Not too bad.
Wellllll 🤦♀️🤷♀️ I still prefer Weston and Covee!!!!
Welll it wasn’t too bad except that I was truly hoping that Dakota gets a better story, something even more exciting than Weston because I thought Dakota was a better person all over. In any case this group of guys are all so cute and good. I didn’t think that Emmy was compatible to Fakota and it actually felt like a friendship relationship than an amorous relationship…. Now let’s see who will be next!
