I have been dying to get my hands on Jo and Dex's story since I first noticed the attraction between them in the CARMEL COVE SERIES, so yes it's been a while and thankfully Dr. Rebecca Sharp didn't make us wait any longer. This story has all the feels!
Dex Covington has been ignoring his attraction to former child star Laura "Jo" Benson for a while now, as long as he isn't in the same room with her he can almost pull it off. But now that Jo finds herself in need of his help it's just a matter of time before his self control flies out the window.
This was an edge of your seat read that will have you reaching for a glass of ice water for all the right reasons. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys Steamy Romantic Suspense and Small Town Romances.

Well Hot dang I’m head over heels in love with Dex Covington! No one and I mean NO ONE up to this point has had me drooling like he did! Yes he’s fictional but please can he just walk of the pages! My goodness there was more to the man behind the computer! It’s always the silent ones let me tell you!
Jo and Dex are total opposites but Jo makes her attraction known! She’s had a thing for the hot nerd and enjoys pushing his buttons! Right when she decides that maybe it’s time to leave him be the world has other plans and these two are forced together! With close proximity these two can no longer hide their attraction and as the saying goes “be careful what you wish for”! Jo as well as us the readers are in for a big surprise because lying under all the cool, calm, collective-ness was a dormant beast!
I was very much entranced by this story not just because of the characters but because of the story line itself! It was new and unexpected! I didn’t piece the dots together till the end and I love when a reader become part of the story! I was trying to solve the mystery for them and was shocked by how it all played out! Another emotional and very seductive read from Sharp! A definite top read for me of hers!

Jo Benson has crushed on Dex Covington since she moved to Carmel Cove. However, he’s always done his best to avoid her or brush her off, even though she sometimes sees a spark of something in his eyes when he looks at her. No matter what, she can’t help being attracted to the taciturn, growly beast of a guy. When her identity is stolen, she has no choice but to go to him for help.

Honest to God, Dex Covington is one hella hot alpha! He’s a total beast in the sack! *fans self* I adored his possessiveness, his protectiveness and his complete possession of Jo. She gradually broke through his thick walls with her sassiness, her beauty and her vulnerability. Her confidence and sunny nature were hard to fight against but, when her life was in danger, it forced him to wake up to what he could have rather than what he thought he wasn’t allowed to have. This was a fab read with a great, suspenseful plot, and fantastic characters. Loved it!

I love the Covington Security guys and everything Carmel Cove but I’m not gonna lie ....I have been desperately waiting to read Dex’s story.
I wasn’t disappointed!
This story is perfect and Dex is everything I hoped he would be.... unapologetically beastly with a heart so large and solely focused on Jo.
I’ve enjoyed reading Jo throughout all the other books and really love her tenacity and spirit. Despite everything she has gone through she has battled on, determined to bring herself back from desperate times and finally get herself back on solid ground. All the while she has kept her spirits high and brought her own special joy to those around her.
Then just as she is about to take a monumental step she finds herself a victim once again.
With the help of her reluctant hero, Something she never thought would happen..... she is welcomed into Dex’s security, all be it somewhat grudgingly!!
For the first time she has someone helping her and from there she gets a true glimpse and understanding of Dex’s vulnerabilities and the gentle man within the quiet reclusive computer expert.
Wow!! These two are the definition of smoking hot chemistry!!
I loved Dex and Jo, I loved the fact that he didn’t change, or become a complete sap, he remained his stoic, reserved self but just made room for Jo and her sunny personality.... the perfect combination!

This was so good, i loved dex and jo they are both amazing characters who went through so much and i was so happy that they get their happy ending 🥺 i loved their relationship and dex's possessiveness, also the friendship between dex and rocco was everything and it had me cackling. I'm also happy that we got to see a bit more of roman and reed in this book, i kind of expected the plot twist at the end so it just didn't shock me,it also felt very rushed towards the end. I loved the smut in this one it was really good but overall i just really loved this book and had a great time.

It just gets better and better.
This was by far my favourite so far.
They say it's always the quiet ones that are the freakiest, right?
Well, this is certainly true for Dexter Covington.
What's that other tagline?
A girl wants a gentleman in the streets, but a beast in the sheets? Jo definitely got that, and then some!
The steam in this book is next level. I'm still overheating just thinking about the stuff that happened in this book. SCORCHING 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Getting to see his caring, protective Covington side come out was like witnessing night and day.
His alpha male, caveman/neanderthal tendencies weren't really a surprise, considering who his brother is *cough* ACE *cough*.
His kinks? WOW
I knew it would be an intense book, but NOTHING prepared me for the twists and turns, the angst, the suspense. My heart was tripping over itself the entire time I was reading.
Jo is such a strong character.
Caring, understanding, vivacious, beautiful - inside and out.
But, her weakness lies with her feelings for Dex, there is no denying that.
He could be thinking of saying jump and she would already be in the air.
Although, I guess it's a positive trait to have, hope.
Gah, the epilogue. I OFFICIALLY melted.
A big explosion of warmth in my chest - happiness.
That's all I want to say. I don't want to ruin it for anyone.

Whoa this was not what I was expecting from Dex and Jo's story.
wow,wow,wowser !!..They are explosive,hotness and steam galore the chemistry and sexual tension is cranked up to the max.
Beguiled is another fantastic book by Rebecca Sharp and an Amazing edition in this series.
It is so well thought out and plotted with the ideal amount of romance,steam,suspense and emotion which had me twisted up in knots.
Dex and Jo are like opposite sides of a coin but when they are together nothing else matters and they are a perfect fit.
Jo has made no secret about how much she "likes" Dex and she needs him to solve a crime against her.
Dex is sexy nerd personified,no wonder Jo is besotted with him the strong silent type with a hidden beast inside,I Loved him.
This book had me spellbound and it is truly an addictive read,it keeps you on your toes and guessing how everything will work out right until the very end.
I absolutely adored this story Rebecca's words always leave me wanting more.

Hahaha, Dex is on another level! His possessiveness and intensity, combined with his cybercrime skills, make him the perfect mix of dangerous and protective. The balance between suspense and romance in this book had me completely hooked!
And the spicy parts? Wow. The spanking scenes were something else! And the positions—some were so intense but also unexpectedly funny! I even tried demonstrating a few with my husband, and he just looked at me and said, "stop reading books!" Hahaha!
But beyond all that steam, the story itself was so well-written. The suspense kept me on edge, and the romance had just the right amount of tension and passion. Now I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the Covington Securit series!

Dex is the computer geek of Covington security gorgeous and broody.
Jo has wanted the broody Dex since moving into Blooms.
Unfortunately he's never taken her up on her flirting but having her identity stolen and credit rating interfered with she desperately needs his help.
I've loved Jo's personality since she was mentioned in previous books her zest for life and living.
Dex has always come across as protective of those he cares for I enjoyed learning more about him.

What a book! Dex and Jo’s story keeps you on your toes. Your heart aches as one bad thing after another tries to break Jo, but she still stays strong and tries to keep moving on with her life despite all the obstacles she keeps facing. And no matter how hard Dex tries to run away from her, he’ll stop at nothing to help her. Can’t wait to read the next one in this series. Beguiled will not disappoint you!

Humor/witty banter.
And a mystery storyline that was so well plotted and written, I was so excited when I finally figured out how all the puzzle pieces fit together.
This book checked ALL my boxes.
Dex and Jo are both plagued by past decisions -- But Dex is still punishing himself while Jo is trying desperately to move on. The frustration these two feel creates a lot of tension -- sexual and otherwise -- that propels their story forward toward its inevitable conclusion... When Dex finally realizes that he needs to live for the future and not the past, Jo finally gets everything she ever wanted, and Dex gets everything he deserves.

Funny, sexy and suspenseful. I laughed so hard at some of the scenes in this book and others were panty-melting. The dynamic between Jo and Dex was so good. This is a definite must read!!!

Beguiled is HOTNESS overload!! You'll want nothing more than to add Mr. Dex Covington into your harem of book boyfriends. He has already been inducted in my BBF harem.

Love this series and these interconnected characters. This book, while good, was not my favorite. I struggled connecting with the story and making a connection with how it all was linked. It happened late in the book and felt rushed in my opinion. That being said, it was still a good story, just not my favorite.

Holy hotness!! Dex has been my favorite since the start of this series and his and Jo’s story is off the charts. I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put it down. He takes the alpha and sexual tension to the next level and you feel everything and want the best. Plus the author adds that level of suspense and has you gasping at turns of events. Just when you think one thing, you are in for a shock. It’s my favorite of the series and I didn’t want it to end. Make sure you one click this read.

This is a decent book but I don't think you can say the same for its source - read in KU
This book starts off a little slow but the last half is good. The "Dexy" times between Dex and Jo are hot.
Unfortunately, this will be the last book I read by this author. Her sister in law, another KU author, has accused her of plagiarism. While it isn't what I would typically refer to as plagiarism, there really isn't another word to use to describe it. It would appear, according to the allegations and some pretty compelling evidence, Dr. Sharp, who is a dentist in every day life, has been copying lot lines, character names, phrases, and descriptions from that author. She copies her social media posts, as well. As far as plot lines, it isn't as if any of the plot lines are original, so I can get past that, if that were the only thing, but it is just a drop in the bucket.
What is a real shame is Dr. Sharp is the far better author. I put the other author onmjy do not read again list because the one book I read from her was bad in so very many ways. The main female character was TSTL. The character had a job that would not come close to making enough money for her to live on but she doesn't have any money troubles. Her boyfriend, who co-owns a security company thinks his top notch security system at his home is enough to keep her safe. The FMC is immature. She has a career as a musician but only sings an occasional show at small night clubs. She does work on writing songs but that doesn't take up all her time. She refuses to learn anything about social media and instead relies on her best friend to be her manager and publicist. As if she shouldn't have been able and willing to do that herself. And there was no chemistry and the steamy scenes weren't steamy.
All in all, you will find a much better book here, but can you let yourself support an author that is actively plagiarizing and stalking another author? She even uses the other author's youngest son's (this author's nephew) name in a book. Otherwise, I probably would have given the book a 3.5, rounded to a 4.

This book starts off a little slow but the last half is good. The "Dexy" times between Dex and Jo are hot.
Unfortunately, this will be the last book I read by this author. Her sister in law, another KU author, has accused her of plagiarism. While it isn't what I would typically refer to as plagiarism, there really isn't another word to use to describe it. It would appear, according to the allegations and some pretty compelling evidence, Dr. Sharp, who is a dentist in every day life, has been copying lot lines, character names, phrases, and descriptions from that author. She copies her social media posts, as well. As far as plot lines, it isn't as if any of the plot lines are original, so I can get past that, if that were the only thing, but it is just a drop in the bucket.
What is a real shame is Dr. Sharp is the far better author. I put the other author onmjy do not read again list because the one book I read from her was bad in so very many ways. The main female character was TSTL. The character had a job that would not come close to making enough money for her to live on but she doesn't have any money troubles. Her boyfriend, who co-owns a security company thinks his top notch security system at his home is enough to keep her safe. At this point, I think I'm just hate-reading this series. The story and characters kept me interested. But the penises are still angry going off the descriptions and the men are still Neanderthals. Why so much grunting? And the jealousy in all these books is something else. They should just pee a circle around the women to mark their territory.

I’m absolutely loving this series. Actually, I’m absolutely loving every single moment I spend in Carmel Cove whether it be reading this series, which focuses on the guys at Covington Security, or reading Rebecca Sharp’s Carmel Cove series which tells the stories of the residents of this fabulous town. I loved Betrayed and Bribed, but I must admit that Beguiled is most certainly my favourite book in the Covington Security series… so far!
Dex Covington…. what a man!! He’s got everything a woman would fall for – a brilliant mind, a physique to die for and the biggest heart. However, he lives in solitude and feels he shouldn’t be allowed to enjoy his life because of something that happened in his past and this actually broke my heart. I hated the thought of Dex punishing himself, and when I learned of the reason why he does this, my heart broke a little more.
Jo is an incredible person who has not had an easy life. I absolutely love her and everything about her – especially her strength and determination. It’s been no secret that she has had her sights set on Dex for a very long time, and I was rooting for her to succeed in making him see that he deserves to be happy and that they would be perfect together.
One of the highlights of this story are the interactions between Jo and Dex. I laughed out loud many times throughout the book, but I particularly adored witnessing just how much Dex cared about Jo and how he would do anything for her. He is the epitome of an alpha male and I loved seeing him in action! Another highlight is the sizzling chemistry between the characters, and I enjoyed watching Jo bring Dex to his knees!
Beguiled has a fabulous storyline that kept me hooked from the very first chapter and also guessing as to how the story would unfold. I had my suspicions as to the outcome of the case the Covington team were working on, and was pleasantly surprised when it didn’t conclude quite as I expected. I do love a book that has twists and turns and Beguiled definitely ticked that box!
I highly recommend that you read Beguiled. It can be read as a standalone story, but as with all book series I do suggest that you read the novels in release order so not to have any spoilers of the previous storylines. Plus, they are incredible reads too!!
Five fabulous must-read stars is what I award Beguiled. I’m already excited for Burned which releases in November 2021 as it is Roc’s story and I anticipate this will be an addictive read too.

After Jo had her identity stolen, she was looking to reclaim her life in different ways & she finally was able to crack this guy’s hard exterior & creating one hell of a passionate love story. Dex works very hard to stay out of Jo’s orbit. For Jo, she has never been so attracted to a man before so his cold shoulder routine isn’t going to stop her. For Dex, the worst situation happens that plants Jo into his life, her identity is stolen and now she is a client. So Dex, he is a tough character to get to know which made this story very rewarding as we get to learn all his secrets. As he begins the process of unraveling what happened to Jo’s identity, she also needs a place to stay. It’s so fun that he won’t let her stay at anyone else’s house. Being in close proximity to each other makes it very hard for Dex to keep his distance as Jo slowly works to breakdown his walls. For Jo, getting to know Dex and really understand why he behaves the way he does is a revelation. The chemistry they feel really can’t be stopped and you know at some point, Dex won’t be able to resist forever especially as Jo spots his weaknesses. The push and pull with this couple is fabulous to experience. The added twists and turns from Jo’s identity theft along with the case Dex is working on kept me guessing on what would happen next. It’s so true that Jo truly did beguile Dex! I enjoyed this book using Kindle Unlimited.

She left Hollywood and is starting over again at a Woman's Center called Blooms. She just found out that someone has stolen her identity and her friend suggests that they go and talk to Dex who is ex CIA and ex soldier who now works with his brothers at Covington Security. He works cyber crimes and could easily help Jo.
Jo has a crush on Dex and is uncomfortable asking for his help as he is always so gruff with her. But when they go to see him Dex jumps in with both feet and vows to help her. While there Dex gives her a burner phone also as this person also bought a new phone under her info and had hers turned off.
Things quickly continue to get worse for Jo and Dex demands that Jo move in with him so he can keep her safe. What Jo doesn't know is that Dex has sworn off any relationship with women because of something that happened to him while he was in the military.
Holy cow do things ever get good. Love the struggle these two have. Heart wrenching and addictive at the same time. This is a truly must read story. Enjoy!

Dex Covington has been this intriguing strong silent type since we first met him, and Jo has done everything in her power to show him she is interested but he isn’t having it. Dex and Jo both have been through a lot in their lives, and it has been traumatizing and lasted with them through the years so when Jo seems to be on the right path to get her life back someone is messing with her. With the help of Dex can they work together to get Jo’s situation under control or is the tension between them too for Dex to handle? They have an intense chemistry but Dex’s past hinders him from pursuing anything with Jo so for now he is just helping her then plans to send her on her way, yet Jo doesn’t give up easy and Dex’s possessive side won’t let her get too far. This series is always an adrenaline ride with amazing characters that keep you glued in until the very end. With so many twists and turns can they get things sorted or will they let fear deter what could be? I can’t wait for more!!

Rebecca Sharp is truly gifted. She never stops surprising me! This book was lovely and fresh and different, in the best of ways. So much of romance these days is formulaic, and while those books certainly have their place, this story did not feel recognizable or predictable in any way, yet still delivered all the feels and a completely satisfying ending. The characters are richly imagined and it was a delight to see our resident Covington bad boy let his softer side out. I was rooting for Dex and Jo and loved seeing both of them transform together and heal each other. The secondary characters grabbed at my heartstrings, too. The mystery was a surprise to me, and I can usually figure things out. And how can you not love it when Dex lets his wild side appear! Jo is no shrinking violet, either, as she goes toe to toe with him. I think this is, so far, my favorite book in this series and am looking forward to Rocco's story!

Dex has denied himself a life since making a mistake that cost innocent people their lives while he was working for the CIA. The harder he has pushed Jo away, the more determined she’s seemed. But when her identity is stolen and she doesn’t have anywhere to live, Dex steps up and demands she stay with him. Their close proximity does nothing to dull his desire for her and Dex finds himself crossing lines he promised himself he would never cross. And when Jo finds out the reason behind Dex’s solitude, she does everything she can to show him what he will be missing if he doesn’t take a risk.
