I discovered this book on Etsy, and was immediately drawn to the appearance of it; it looked like a sweet, vintage children's book, and this is exactly what it delivered.

Originally published in 1989, this story tells the story of Crumbling Castle, and the wizard Zebulum, who makes it his home. The story is by Sarah Hayes, with illustrations throughout by Helen Craig. Zeb the wizard shares the castle with Jason - a crow who insists that he is a raven - but he also comes across other characters who are trying to make the castle their home.

This really is a sweet book. The illustrations are truly beautiful, and the story is one which developing younger readers would be able to lose themselves in. This is one book which will keep its place on my bookshelves.

This is a simple picture book but absolutely charming! Wizard Zeb and his familiar crow, Jason, have moved into a crumbling castle so Zeb can work on his spells in peace. However, peace is hard to come by with a crow who won't stop talking, a ghost, and many other inhabitants of the castle. Such fun!

Dexter (7yo) read out loud for reading time in school.

It's an okay story about a wizard and his crow Jason (who would like to believe he's a raven) and the adventures they have when they move into a ramshackle castle.
