The Dragon has awakened, and he will claim his bride.
As the Vanguard’s top analyst, Tabitha discovers a secret message which could allow them to deal a severe blow to the Kryptids. The last thing she expects during that mission is to run into the ‘enemy’ who haunts her dreams. After getting her heart crushed years ago, Tabitha has sworn off genetically engineered warriors. Yet, she cannot resist her attraction to the dark and mysterious hybrid named Bane. As they prepare for a bloody war against the Kryptids, she realizes there can only be a future for them if she can bring Bane and his people to the Vanguard’s side.
His hearts have ached for Tabitha from the moment he set eyes on her. And yet, time after time, he has let his fierce and fearless Queen walk away. It had been both for her safety and out of duty to those under his protection. However, the tide has finally turned. He and his people may be the monstrous creations of the Kryptid General but, for the first time, freedom is within their grasp. Now that he has a chance at a future with his Queen, and at safety for his people, nothing and no one will stand in his way.
----------------------- Due to the recent addition of the full-novel Doom (Xian Warriors 1), the entire series has been renumbered to respect the chronology of events. The proper reading order is therefore as follows:
USA Today bestselling author Regine Abel is a fantasy, paranormal, and sci-fi junkie. Anything with a bit of magic, a touch of the unusual, and a lot of romance will have her jumping for joy. She loves writing hot alien warriors meeting no-nonsense, kick-ass heroines. Her novels are steamy, action-packed, and with the twists and turns you never saw coming.
Before devoting herself as a full-time writer, Regine had surrendered to her other passions: music and video games! After a decade working as a Sound Engineer in movie dubbing and live concerts, Regine became a professional Game Designer and Creative Director, a career that has led her from her home in Canada to the US and various countries in Europe and Asia.
From the Xian Warriors POV, Bane is the bad guy! His father? That horrible creature who started and leading these long wars. His mum? I’m not telling you, read this series in order to give you the full enjoyment! 😘
But, there’s more than meets the eye with Bane ❤️. Full with stars fight and Tabitha is one fabulous kickass heroine too! These two are perfect for each other 😘.
Note from me: This series is not an Erotica Aliens wanted his Earth women to mate! LOL. You will be a little bit disappointed if that’s what you wanted 😬. While still quite steamy, the main storyline is about those Planets/Stars Big Wars. The romances and the relationships is a wonderful part of the story, not a side story, mind you, but you need to really love SciFi or Stars Wars type of story/movie to be really enjoys this series fully 😘.
☆ 4.5 ☆ Antes que nada... Tabitha y Ayana, mis reinas 👑💕✨
Tenía expectativas, nada en específico, pero mantenía la convicción de que este libro tenía todo para gustarme y no dejar de fangirlear... ¡No me equivoqué! 🖤
This is the third thrilling instalment in The Xian Warriors series. If you have not read the first two books you won't have a clue what's going on and will have missed so much story telling and fantastic reading! In this book we learn so much more about the mysterious hybrid Bane. As the eldest son and living experiment of the Kryptid/Gomenzi dragon and vanguard human mother, Bane has the weight of a thousand lives on his shoulders and an almost insurmountable mission of freeing his people and fellow experiments from General Khutu aka 'the big bad'. This book was fantastic, action packed with lots of well written arse kicking. Character building that showed depth and development of cast members from the previous books which will hopefully turn into next in series reads 💯🙌🏻♥️ The rollercoaster ride of emotions in this book were wonderfully constructed, no emotion has been left out. Be warned your gonna need tissues!! The relationships found in this book were beautiful and believable. Between the brothers, the warriors and their human vanguard partners. Bane and Tabitha had fantastic chemistry, connection and interactions. I adore this series I cannot wait to see what happens next.
This was an excellent book. I enjoyed this story the most. Finally Bane and Tabitha together. What a wonderful couple they were and how deeply they truly loved each other. No drama issues between them just a truly unique and wonderful story. The world building was outstanding and the supporting characters were well thought out. I can't wait to read the next in this series. I would highly recommend this book and this series.
Oh, boy. As the oldest of the Kryptid General's offspring/experiments, Bane is in a tough situation. He's making plans to save himself, his brothers, and the human women who have been forced to become breeders for the next generation of Kryptids, but things aren't going quite as smoothly as they need to be.
For one thing, his father knows a little too much about Bane's actions which puts all Bane's brothers in danger. For another, Bane's attraction to Tabitha (if you consider the call of a soulmate mere attraction), puts her in a bit of danger. Because Tabitha's not the type to sit quietly in the background when those around her are in danger.
As for Tabitha, she's...mellowed since we first met her. Or maybe it's better to say she's finally come to terms with her bruised heart and found herself again. Her union with Bane opens up a lot of avenues for the future for both his hybrids and for the Vanguard soldiers.
Things aren't necessarily smooth for these two, but their relationship changes so much for so many. There might still be danger on the horizon, but things are looking up for the Vanguard in their war against the Kryptid general and his morally reprehensible experiments.
Tabitha has sworn off any romantic relationships after being hurt. She is working with the Vanguard to help in the war against the Kryptids. Bane is a hybrid of a Vanguard mother and Kryptid father. His father is the General behind the imprisonment of women and hybrid children that are Bane's brothers. Tabitha discovers something that may be able to change the course of the war and is on a mission. Bane has been attracted to Tabitha since seeing her for the first time. His brothers and other responsibilities have kept him from pursuing her. Now that things are resolved he will let nothing stop him from claiming Tabitha, his soulmate.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It was heartfelt and fun. I hope for more books. I literally went 48 hours without sleep because I would work during the day and only had time to read at night so I didn't sleep because I read all three books in 3+ says 😄, I just couldn't seem to put them down. Anyway please continue the series because sleep is overrated 😂
I’m usually soo long winded I’m my reviews, either going on endlessly about what I love or hate, afraid my voice isn’t going to be heard o acknowledged, but not this time... I had a good time w/aBane and Tabitha ..
While the threads of equality ,of being multiracial as hybrids and of tolerance and acceptance is still a huge motivating factors in all of Ms.Abel’s stories, it didn’t feel like quite the slap upside the head as it did in the stories in this series and especially the last book in her “Veredian” book 5 .... Now while I whole heartily agree equality racial, gender and otherwise needs to be addressed in which ever and as many ways as we can,I’ve often walked away feeling Dr.Suess and hid Star Bellied “Sneeches” had a lighter and more defter approach, the Sneeches w/stars think they were better then other Sneeches simply because they didn’t have a star 🌟,making the ones w/out feel less than because they have no star. Sometimes things need to be a slap upside the head to get your attention and other times a more subtle approach can get your attention and keep it when violence or the slap makes you want to turn away .. All that said I love 💕 just how creative and inventive Ms.Abel’s imagination is and I was grateful for another chance to be in her world 🌍. I loved Bane soo dearly, he was everything I had hoped he’d be and more in the glimpses we’d been given of him in the last two books.. Even though his almost desperate use of “My Queen” and “My mate”, felt like he’d forgotten her name at times, I did understood his fears of rejection after all he’d been thru, since ,well birth . I enjoyed his time w/and around Tabitha more when he was self assured and confident w/her and showed more of the alpha qualities he showed with others. Tabitha, I liked her a lot, I liked how confident and self-assured and intelligent and capable she was but Yeah always a but, but her dithering with Bane got on my nerves we all know her history w/Rage. I get that, after losing someone you loved like this would have left it’s mark. Full stop. End of story. But ( again) ( different this this time) when it comes to finding your “ mate” ,it’s completely different. And while Bane was a little dense in his thinking that just calling her his “Queen”, was supposed to be the end all ,be all, in explaining what she was to him, it wasn't and I cringed inwardly knowing it that.I was equally frustrated that even when he did finally explain, Tabitha was still dithering and unsure, seemingly scared of another “Rage” repeat . I wanted to shake her til her teeth rattled at that,”Hello, idiot, that can’t happen!!!! He’s YOUR MATE!!!! As a Dragon 🐉 he CAN’T want anyone else you fool! That and the near constant belly flips and goose bumps and other such related things ,that made sense at first with Tabitha but after being used soo many times she started to sound like a virginal teenage girl, which we knew she was not . Those my friends I think at the moment are the end of my complaints. While it was sad how things went with Bane’s mother and the others, I felt it was handled beautifully and imaginatively. I wish we could have had a description of what Bane and Tabitha’s child looked like and what exactly happened to all the babies and toddlers and young ones Bane and his brothers arrived with,( I’d like to think all those child hungry couples w/soo much paternal love 💕 needing to be given and shared and babies needing that and a mother’s care were all happily paired off,I still would have loved to have seen that to in Bane’s wonderful epilogue... And last but not really least : the cover . Why is Bane’s cover soo different from Legion’s and Raven’s ? Both of theirs show both H and h,why doesn’t this one ? While Bane isn’t my idea of gorgeous, I do enjoy looking at him,if all things are to be truly equal between them now. He. Should. Have. His . Heroine! By his side just like his brothers . I won’t make any guess as to why he doesn’t . but it just doesn't seem right. Sorry ,I was kinda long winded after all but as I’m sure you all know sometimes you don’t know how you really feel or what you really think til you start writing and then before you know it the ideas and feelings just don’t stop. Thank Ms. Abel, I had a good time.
I need a moment to dry my eyes Don't fret they are happy tears - for now I, like the rest of the Vanguard, know this war is far from over but we need to make the most of the small victories, the quiet moments, the precious memories.
Since the series began I have been in awe of the universe Abel created. Each new episode has only drawn me deeper into the story line. Endeared me more to the cast.
I knew Bane's story would be special. From the beginning, he stood out. And to pair him with Tabitha (not a spoiler it's on the blurb!) They are a perfect match. Bane carries the weight of the universe on his shoulders, walking a very sharp blade attempting to balance appeasing his "father" with protecting his family. And to find that the one soul that compliments his, that was made for him, that truly completes him - can never be his?
Tabitha has been the b! Tch queen from the beginning. It has taken her years to come to terms with her feelings, to mend her broken heart. She has come so far since the first episode. We get a chance to see the true Tabitha here. The one who once laughed and loved wholeheartedly. It is a big 360 form the vicious little ankle-biter she has been. Sorry Tabs.
It's hard to review without spoilers all that happens in this episode. I do not want to decrease any OMG factors or Awww moments that you may encounter. You can expect quite a few " Oh he ll No" scenes interlaced with a few that may have you yelling " turn around!" or other various explicit s out loud I shed a few tears both happy and sad - experienced some chuckles and I smiled - a lot! Best of all I was there to witness and feel each moment I think for me that is what makes this series so captivating Abel transports her readers into the story You don't just read it You experience it Until the next battle - to the little victories 🥂
BANE'S STORY WAS A TEARJERKER, IT MADE ME WANT TO CRY BECAUSE IT WAS SO GODDAMNED BEAUTIFUL. TO BE FRANK, THIS SERIES HAD A REPETITIVE VIBE AND I WOULD HAVE DROPPED IT IF THE AUTHOR DIDN'T CREATE A BONDING CAMARADERIE BETWEEN THE CHARACTERS THAT MADE ME FEEL PART OF THEM AND I'M HOOKED ON THE WAR OF VANGUARDS VS KRYPTIDS.
BANE is the hybrid son of the General Khutu and Soulcatcher mother. The hybrids were beautiful to me because they were all so lovingly heartbroken, wanting love but only being known as abominations - a cruel product of the General's multiple rapes on the abducted females. Bane is the First Son and he takes it seriously to be able to provide his hundreds of siblings a home without the fear of being killed by their Sire. I liked Bane ever since he first saved Ayana's life in LEGION's story. He was the ANTIHERO, the one who was going to change the balance of power in the Vanguard-Kryptid war. Not surprising, Bane's mate happens to be TABITHA - the kickass Vanguard female who had her heart broken before and turned her bitter. Well, after meeting Bane a few times, she knows that he's the one and finally lets go of her past to embrace the future. Both characters were great. While it seemed a bit starry-eyed, the whole story was emotionally moving, the best part being how the Hybrids and Scelks joined forces with the Vanguard and become ONE BIG FAMILY that will face the General in the next war. The cutest hybrid I fell in love with was Little Arrow, Bane's young baby brother.
OVERALL I can't wait to read what's coming up next for the Vanguard, and who is the next couple that will have their story! Oh and you'll be glad to know thanks to Bane + Tabitha's mating, they finally solved the Xian's problem of difficult child conceiving. So now, even Raven will be having a baby brother!
Let me regale you with the super-awesomeness that is BANE! Bane is a tool of the Kryptid General Khutu. He's a hybrid born of a stolen Vanguard mother and Kryptid father. He and his brothers are the secret allies of the Xian Warriors. Tabitha is the queen who haunts Bane's dreams. When Tabitha, an analyst and shell for the Vanguard, discovers a trail of breadcrumbs that could possibly give them an advantage in the war against Khutu, she embarks on a dangerous mission with a full complement of her sisters and Xian Warriors. Its a trap and the Hybrids join the forces the Xian Warriors to save the victims that Bane is protecting. Tabitha is drawn to Bane. But will she be able to keep him? Bane is the leader of his people. Tabitha would like nothing more than Bane joining her on Khepri. Much is at risk. Will the Xian race welcome Bane and the other Hybrids designed to be their enemies into their ranks permanently? Read and find out!
As you guessed I LOVED this book! Bane is one, hot warrior! (:::fans self:::) And I love all of the battle scenes and strategy that come to play in this story, as well as the steamy stuff. This book is not really a stand-alone. I recommend you read Legion and Raven first! 5 stars for this fantastic addition to the Xian Warriors series!

Bane is the third book in the Xian Warriors series written by author Regine Abel. Each book in the series tells the story of a different couple, but I suggest that you read the books in order. By doing this, it will help you to understand and appreciate the background story that continues throughout the books. In this story, Tabitha thinks she’s discovered some sort of signal or message and the Xian Warriors decide to check it out. They do not expect to find Bane, the Kryptid General’s first genetically engineered son. As the General’s “firstborn,” Bane has to tread carefully to please his father and to also protect his siblings. While Bane is following one of his father’s missions, he decides it’s time to come up with a new strategy. Although, he soon learns that there’s danger ahead when Tabitha, one of the Xian Warriors and the woman he’s longed for, contacts him.
As soon as I opened Bane, I was hooked and could not put it down. It was well written and deliciously hot! I just loved every minute of it, and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!!
Nonstop action! I have great admiration for Bane. He’s lived an incredibly difficult existence, yet always remaining loyal to his mother and her people. His care for his brothers and all those created by General Khutu is admirable. His hatred for his father - justifiable. His devotion to Tabitha is heartwarming. Tabitha is an amazing woman. Her analytical skills more often than not lead her to discoveries no others have found. She’s also a highly skilled soulcatcher. I love the way she and Bane are together. He gives her time to learn to trust that he won’t desert her. The fires burn hot, indeed! Their story is vividly told, with awesome scenes of both battle and romantic times. I am not done with this world yet, so I’m hoping for more like this!
November 2021 I still love Bane! He's one of favorites! Although there's also Varnog...
November 2020 Bane's story is my favorite story of the Xian Warriors series so far. It was so so so good.
I don't want to tell too much about the story, as it would spoil all the fun of discovering who he is. Or better who his father is and who his mother was.
I simply loved his story; his struggles, his insecurity yet this determination to do good and fight for what is right and for his family. Also, his shock and wonder that another being could love him for who he is as a person. Great story. Emotional and action-packed.
I have to admit that I just love this series and this book is a great addition to it! I love how all the new characters expand what we know about the world that is building and all the species in it, yet it doesn't feel overwhelming. Bane is just, oh, my, he's lovely! I just love how the characters are written, they are so alive, so rounded and just bursting off the page. I thoroughly enjoyed it and could not put it down. I cannot wait for the next book! I'm busy guessing who it will be about...
Wow I have read the last two of the Xian warriors but I think Bane was more heartfelt. The misjudges the pain he has to go for just being different and finding that person that will love him with everything that he is was a heartfelt read. I just love the way this author has build this world I can't get enough of this characters it has so many that I what to know every single one of them. So I hope we will get more of them.
what a name. Bane lives up to his name: fierce warrior, leader, and gives it his all. I loved him! He was easily lovable! and He couldn’t have been paired with a better soul mate than Tabitha! Those two deserved each other and im so happy how well their romance blossomed. loved it!! i read this with my kindle unlimited 😘
Love a book that makes me cry and laugh at the same time. A story that has everything you want in a romance about aliens with enough action, adventure, family love, passion, and hot sexy scenes that sizzle with awesome characters. Hope to read more about the Xain Warriors and definitely a must buy series.
We have war against bugs and the rescuing of alien hybrids and Vanguard POWs. This is book 5 of an ongoing Alien series where the aliens actually look like aliens.
I have read all the books in the Xian Warriors series and this is my favourite. I love Bane, he is the best mix of bad boy and sensitive soul. I found the story exciting and intense and can't wait for the next book.
Favorite book thus far in the series. It has the perfect amount of action/adventure, continuation of the underlying story, romance, and sex. That’s a rare find these days.
