SHE IS THE SUN: A Collection of Poetry

Rate this book
This collection of poetry is about power, resilience, overcoming hard times, and unleashing the chains we put on ourselves. These are stories of realizations, heartache, family trauma, healing, blooming love, and finding meaning. In my life I've learned that through the dark times, we must be our own source of light. We have to bring our own sunshine on a cloudy day. We must find ourselves and know our truth in order to learn our purpose. Stories of Heartache - These are the times when we feel broken. This shattering feeling comes from family trauma, bad relationships, mental illness, and the weight of the world on our shoulders. When we experience overwhelming sadness, it can feel like we are isolated in our emotions. Although it can seem lonely at times, we all go through hardships. No matter how different we may be. Stories of Hope - These are the moments where we feel like we’re healing. We are evolving and discovering our purpose and who we are supposed to be. These are the stories that bring hopefulness to the future as we mend our broken hearts and tend to our battle scars. Healing is a process. It is a bumpy road along the way, but it's a mission we will accomplish.Stories of Love - These are the stories that make our heart race. The moments in love where it gets intimate. The moments in love where it becomes serious, yet so simple. Those moments where we forget all the bad and the ugly in life. All because a love so beautiful swept you off your feet as if you've never been on the ground. Stories I Treasure the Most - These are the stories of resilience. These are the moments when my soul feels like it's been set free. I am powering through the dark times and I am creating the light I always needed. These are the stories where I saved myself. These are the stories that will forever remind me that I am the one who gets to define who I am. I hope you enjoy these poems as much as I enjoyed writing them.

3.5 - 3.75 Stars ***

At times this book was a bit cringey and cliche, but alot of times it had some AMZAING poems. And not only about just heartache or breakups and of that sort, but also about love for ourselves and love for our earth. I rlly enjoyed it and would recommend it <3

When I rate a book 2 stars it means I think the book was bad, but it had somethings in it that gave some type of redeeming quality. It didn’t make the book good, but the author achieved something at least.

DNF, which is incredibly rare for me. At first, I thought my review would end up something like “This just didn’t resonate with me the way other poetry collections have”. Then it changed into “This is awful and I can’t bare another minute trying to get to the end” yikes.

Review for She Is the Sun: A Collection of Poetry

She Is the Sun is a powerful and emotionally moving collection that speaks directly to the heart. Each poem carries honesty, vulnerability, and strength, creating a deeply personal yet universally relatable experience. Niccole Salm’s writing beautifully explores pain, healing, love, resilience, and self discovery. The poems reflect raw emotion while offering comfort, hope, and encouragement. There is a gentle wisdom throughout the collection that reminds readers of their inner strength and ability to rise above difficult moments.

What makes this collection truly special is its emotional authenticity. Every piece feels sincere and intentional, allowing readers to connect deeply with the words. The themes of self worth, healing, and growth are expressed with clarity and grace, making this book both comforting and empowering. This is a collection that stays with you long after you finish reading. It offers light during dark moments and reminds readers of their own resilience and power.

Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates poetry that heals, uplifts, and inspires.

I loved this book!

I gave it to my mother as a birthday gift because, while I feel like many of the poems that reminded me of her were probably more geared toward a romantic relationship, the love that the author exudes through her poetry can sometimes be twisted into something that could be familial or platonic and it really just reminded me of my mother.

I deeply enjoyed the poems, and I know that my mother did as well!

I think the author is brilliant. She pours her soul out on the pages. Beautifully written, well worded. I personally couldn’t connect with 80% of the poems, however I did mark a few! Not sure that I would reread only because I didn’t fine a common ground. However she is brilliant and I would definitely buy another book to try out!

I was so excited for this book but was met with pure disappointment. The poems try to hard and do not resonate in any way with me. The tittle is too grand for the content. Save your time and avoid this book

I enjoyed this collection very much. I liked that it was divided into different sections and as I went along I also got deeper into the pieces and connected with them. My favorite section was "Stories of Love".

i love the fact that i could feel every sentence she wrote, in my own head, heart, and body. what she had written down on these pages is exactly what i was already feeling. she’s an amazing author who cares so much for her readers, an absolute blessing to the book world.

It was cheesy poetry, the emotions were trying to be conveyed but not in a way that truly brought it to me.
