The NPCs in This Sim Game Must Be Real! Light Novel #2

The NPCs in this Village Sim Game Must Be Real! (Light Novel) Vol. 2

Rate this book
Invited to play a secretive, strangely realistic video game, one man develops a deep connection with its characters, who seem almost human. (And don't miss the original light novels, also from Seven Seas!)

Yoshio is 30 years old, with no job and a shut-in lifestyle. His mundane days and nights are suddenly interrupted when he receives a copy of "The Village of Fate," an experimental game with graphics like nothing he's ever seen before. In the game, he takes on the role of a guardian deity who watches over the people of a new village...but he finds that the game characters are so intelligent, reactive, and human that he starts wondering if they could be real people somehow. Through his connection to their strangely vivid lives, Yoshio begins to discover the brightness that had been missing from his own existence.

What the utter EFFING MESSED UP GARBAGE WAS THAT ENDING?!? I bought the next volume, so I’ll read it but THERE IS NO REDEEMING THAT ENDING.

1, I HATED THAT ENDING SO HARD, stars.

Wow, this was certainly action packed.

Volume 2 picks up two important plot lines from volume 1 while expanding upon Yoshio’s past and his transition into a NEET. There’s a lot of wholesome character work and Destiny is totally best girl.

Ends on a cliffhanger that’ll make you intrigued for more.

Another great addition to the series, with much higher stakes as things start to click in the main characters mind.

Had to leave this rating/review until after I'd read the next volume because the cliffhanger in this was crazy! I'm glad I didn't let it deter me but it's a doozy.

amazing! you can really see it turning from a small story about a guy learning how to live his life to a real deep story. It was really not what I expected and the ending was amazing.

As the game begins to spill out into the real world, things start getting real indeed! Really looking forward to seeing where things go from here in the final volume!

Much like in volume 1, Yoshio keeps "playing" the game while slowly but surely improving his life in the real world. Things quickly appear to be a bit more complicated with a great twist at the end. While the story itself is somewhat slow paced, the game not much of a game, it is the parts set in the RL that make the story interesting and intriguing. The story certainly steps away from the tropes, and I am intrigued by the mystery of the nature of the game. Looking forward to the next part.
