Short review: you'd be better off handing two action figures to your 2 year old nephew, watch him smash them repeatedly against each other for an hour, then hear that his favourite was the winner.

Longer review: the same, but this time overhearing the conversation of two primary schoolers pretending to be superheroes:
(stars are place holder for semi-spoiler, revealed at the end)

-I attack you with a billion attacks, tearing you to shreds
*
-Well I drink a healing potion, healing instantly and powering up, and take advantage of your surprise to land an unavoidable lethal blow
**
-I dodge back, barely avoiding the attack, and retaliate by summoning 1 million dragons, which surround you and dragonbreath from all directions at once
***
-I dodge the blast (which wipes out 3 mountains behind me) and I also have minions, 100 of them but each as strong as a million. With each attach they kill 1 billion dragons. Then I retaliate with an attack strong enough to wipe out the universe
****
-The universe is wiped out, but I use magic to make my skin be as hard as steel so am fine. Then I pick up a boulder and throw it at you
*****
-I expected that, and made my armour to be boulder proof. And with each of my minions making 100 attacks a second, you only have a third of your dragons remaining, they'll will be wiped out in no time
******
*******
********

*(semi-spoiler: Goes super-saiyan 4 - which is only possible for a short time as it goes past all my limits, and the stress will rip my body apart limb from limb)
**Goes super saiyan 5
***Goes super saiyan 6
****Goes super saiyan 7
*****Goes super saiyan 8
******Goes super saiyan 9
*******Goes super saiyan 10. Wins

I love this series and this novel is some of the best writing the author has done. Each fight scene contains a story's climax that has been in the making since the beginning. Yet there is one more story to finish and I recommend reading Auriferta Zero in the meantime to get even more joy and world-building for this series.

A whole book of nothing

150 pages of a fight between side characters. 120 pages of a fight between main characters that were NOT the MC. 2 pages of a lead up to the main fight in an EPILOGUE. Huge disappointment. Sure, we resolved a few of the characters arcs failed well. That could have easily been achieved in 20 pages or so. 50 if I want to be generous. This book felt VERY much like a Bait & Switch, and I'm hugely mad about it.

Technically, the book is well translated and edited, and the story does flow. But the battles felt like filler. I'll HAVE to get the next one to see how this whole thing finally resolves, but if it doesn't open on page one with Hajami fighting Ehit, I'm gonna ask for my money back. This was just...wasted time. I wound up skipping the last 30 pages of the Shea/Tio arc just to get to the end. I didn't even care anymore. I'm sure the authors don't read these, but if you were wondering if this book resolves the HUGE cliffhanger of Hajami going to get Yue back, the answer is NO.

Battle between OP characters!

Is really hard for an author to depict battles between OP characters, but the author does a great job in the battles narrated in this volume. Hajime's party has grown a lot since the first volume and is nice to see them at their full potential here. In fact, this series reminds me of epic TRPG adventures, where the adventures grow from lvl 1 to godly levels. A well paced story, great characters and an awesome plot.

A few battles before the final ones, some more interesting than others. Suzu VS Eri got me more invested, while Shea had the more boring one (the power up graphs were pretty lame, there were so many other, better ways to write this?) Kaori the cover girl wasn't there for the whole novel and only got an extra chapter, welp at least she got one in this form before the series ends. Let's end this soon!

It is nearly non-stop battle in this book. Which makes for a lot of action. Then you realize there is NO way in the world that Shirakome-sensei is going to wrap this thing up in this book. So your 18 months of waiting are only slight sated before we jump back on the wait wagon.

I think Inigo Montoya says it best, "I hate waiting."

Primarily focused on the side characters, and while good for both character development and backstory, pads what everyone is waiting for out even further.
I liked it, but the wait for 12 and 13 to be translated and for a resolution is gonna be forever

An entire book based off of 3 fights. In web novel it makes sense. In light novel a bit much

I couldn't put.the book down

As soon as I picked up my tablet when I woke up and saw this book was finally here I read the whole thing. It was a really long roller coaster that I didn't want to get off of. Hurry up with book 13 and I also hope for a return series.

A great read

I have been looking forward to this book for quite a while, and it was absolutely worth the wait. I can hardly wait for the next and possibly one of the last books in the series.
