The Light Brigade: For the light bringers
In The Light Brigade, Rebecca Cooper dives headfirst into the difficulties of living in the light. This collection of powerful essays explores what it really means to be compassionate, empathetic, and brazen - all at the same time. This one is for the dreamers - for the dig down deep believers. For the two a.m. thinkers, and the never stop fighting achievers. This is for the deep, deep, dark, all-night survivors, and for the looking at the bottom of the barrels still-want-to-be-alivers. For the ones that know how to live and die by promises; for the ones that still know how to cross their hearts and hope the legend of their lives never die. This is for the torchbearers, the light-bringers, and the broad-shouldered warriors that show up to the arena early. For the ones that don’t keep count because the count doesn’t matter, and for the ones that search the horizon and ignore all of the pointless chatter. This is for the tenacious, audacious girls that don’t need your dull crown because they brought their own, and this is for the ones that bear their chest scars like a holy battle cry to the forlorn. You're going to make it, they whisper. You're going to make it, they whisper. You're going to make it, they whisper, because we did, too. This is for the Light Brigade.

About the author
Rebecca Cooper
46 books18 followersRebecca Cooper leads a small town life in Alberta, Canada, with her husband Randal and their three children Emily, Carson and Addie.
She has always been a scrapbooker at heart, but the 'obsession' she now has with her hobby began officially in 2002 when she first became a mom. Since that time, scrapbooking has inched its way into her heart, changed her everyday perspective, and almost completely taken over the small office in her home.
Rebecca is a photographer and serves as a contributing editor for Simple Scrapbooks magazine. She is an avid reader, loves chocolate (a lot!), and is always game for a long afternoon nap.

Random thoughts and short essays compiled into a book of poetry that you can pick up and read and set back down at leisure. I'm not actually sure that I have read the entire book as I finding myself picking it up and reading random selections that appeal to me. Definitely a book I will keep out to continue doing the same for a long time.
