Riley Morgan went to the lake to ride out his heat alone, but due to his unusually high level of horniness, he sleeps with Endre, an exceedingly handsome, random guy he meets. When Endre’s knot begins to form, he realizes they aren’t just having sex, they’re mating.
Endre has a problem. He glossed over the obvious signs that Riley is an omega and ends up locked inside him. There’d be major repercussions if the world found out the Prince of Andolva was an alpha and impregnated an omega, so he has to bid him farewell. But after they part ways, he knows he made the wrong decision.
Now they can’t seem to find each other, and if Endre can’t locate Riley soon, they might never see each other again because The Omega Relocation Unit, a branch of the government that hunts down omegas and traps them in preserves, has been on patrol in Riley’s neighborhood. One misstep from him, and he’s taken away forever.
THIS BOOK ENDS ON A CLIFFHANGER BECAUSE THE STORY CONTINUES IN BOOK TWO.

This story is very different from the others I have read by this author but I enjoyed it just as much. Poor Riley (and all omegas really), he has had to hide his whole life and the one time he lets his guard he finds his perfect alpha but they can't be together. I hated that he was really the one who had to live with the consequences of their time together. Endre has done so much for the omegas and alphas in his country but still has to hide who he is due to people's fear. He can’t stop thinking about Riley and searching for him. This is just the beginning of their story and I can't wait to see what happens now that Endre has found Riley.
I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review
Alright, well I finished that and it was just ho hum, okay.
Riley is an Omega who is 23 yrs old. Formerly worked in an art gallery who lives in Virginia. Endre is an Alpha who is 26 year old (turns 27 during the story) Prince of Andolva (fake foreign country). The meet in California, I think, this detail was fuzzy.
Obviously, (see title) Riley gets pregnant during this book and Endre is the "Royal" so no spoiler there.
The description in the prologue of how reproduction happens was a tad confusing and I am not sure it was even really necessary to through that information in there. I didn't get a DNF feeling from this book, but I didn't feel any connection to the story or characters. There isn't really any details you learn about them that makes you want to root for them to be together.
I disliked that Riley believed he was lied to. It technically a lie Endre told, but at the same time they didn't want to share details of themselves. This was a pretty contrived conflict to me and felt it was lame.
There is a cliffhanger, as should be expected because hello the book title is First Trimester. I am pretty sure when I was pregnant there were three trimesters so pretty much you have to read all three books in the series to get through the whole pregnancy to find out how things play out for these two. Also the descriptions for book 2 and 3 mentions only Riley and Endre. So 1+1=continuing storyline with cliffhangers for books 1 and 2, conclusion in 3. I could be wrong, I wasn't a math major.
I will not be reading books 2 or 3 in this series. There wasn't enough detail, connection, or anything to keep me going and wanting to find out what happens with these two and the pregnancy.
Overall, okay read but there are probably better mpreg/Alpha and Omega/mating stories out there. That's disappointing because I love a good royal story.
this was my way waiting for the shania twain uk presale, and it wasn't a very good one. My ocd still making me read the whole series, so see you there😩
Riley Morgan needed a break, so he headed to the lake where he could relax and get through his heat alone. He watched a handsome guy out by the lake, but when he looked back again, the guy was gone. It was the July 4th weekend. Riley had also been hiding out from the Omega Relocation Unit who captured the Omegas and took them away.
Riley was hungry so went to the little store. He ate his sandwich but carried a blue slushy back toward his cabin. Unfortunately, watching the drink instead of his path, he ran right into a tall man, the guy he had seen by the lake earlier. Endre introduced himself and told Riley to follow him to the outdoor shower to hose off the blue. But seeing him rub his chest like that was driving Riley crazy. Endre asked him to have dinner with him, and after that, they met often for meals.
When Riley came into his full heat, and Endre who had never mated before didn’t recognize the signs, they ended up breeding. They didn’t exchange names or numbers, and each knew they would be going their separate ways. Riley went to pack and leave, Endre tried to stay away. But he couldn’t and ran to Riley’s cabin, only to see him drive away. He had no way to contact him. Would he ever see his mate again? Would Riley ever know the Prince of Andolva had fathered his children? Or would the ORU finally capture Riley and lock him away?
This was such an intense story. That’s the bad part of agreeing not to contact each other. Because when they need to, they can’t. What will happen to them both now, being separated and, for Riley, being in danger? And this is only the beginning . . .
This is a simply written mpreg story. While it doesn't have much depth, details, or descriptions, it's still an entertaining read with plenty of sexy times to keep the heat level high.
Be warned, it does get ridiculous at times: "I'm knotting you. It's my knot. Oh, my god, I am breeding you. It's getting so big." 🤣
The story is interesting in that the betas are in control, and alphas and omegas aren’t treated well (this is especially true for the omegas). Poor Riley has to give up his art and independence, hiding out with his mom and brother. Thankfully, he has a loving family to support him.
Riley decides to spend time alone at a cabin by the lake to get through his heat, where he meets Endre, a prince—though Riley doesn't know it at the time. They go through the heat together, resulting in Riley’s pregnancy. They part ways, but it's only a matter of time before they're reunited.
I have mixed feelings about the prince. He seemed weak and irresponsible for wanting to get Riley pregnant, knowing he would leave him behind and never see his children grow up. That’s not how I expected a prince to act. He also seemed overly concerned about what his parents would think. He eventually grows a backbone and returns to find Riley, but I hope he's a stronger alpha in book 2.
I'm glad the story continues, as it's far from over. I felt like I didn’t get to know either of the MCs. I'll read the next book to learn more and see what happens next.
Edited to Add: Book 2 was better than book 1. However, book 3 was a DNF. There were a ridiculous number of babies. 😬
A splendid Omegaverse / MPreg story with a new take.
This story is told from two points of views. It is important to remember that this is the first book out of 3 in the series. A HUGE part of the story is dedicated to the pair mating. This story takes a different take on the Alpha/Omega universe (Omegaverse) - Beta's are in charged and in the States as well as many other places, Omegas are discriminated on. In the States, Omegas are captured forcefully by the government. The story ends with a heavily pregnant Riley being reunited with Endre. There's a lot more to go - The pair has many other challenges to overcome, not just in the States but also in Endre's home country - Alpha's can't rule.
The story was highly enjoyable and easy to read. I was not able to put it down once I started. If you are interested in Omegaverse and MPreg, I would certainly recommend you to give this book a shot as the author has done a splendid job.

Keeping secrets never ends well. Endre is an Alpha Prince masquerading as a Beta. After the Beta uprising, Alphas and Omegas were put on the bottom of the hierarchy. Endre fights for Omega rights in his country, on the Omega Rights Council. He came to the states to try to lobby for Omega rights and was alarmed by how America treated it's Omegas. He took a quick time out undercover and met Riley. Riley is an Omega hiding his designation in fear of being sent to a preserve which basically abused Omegas. They started a short term vacation fling. Then Endre had to return home. Does Riley get pregnant? Does Endre really leave his mate? Does Riley get caught by the ORU? What do the King and Queen say? Nice story. Ends in a cliffhanger. I should have guessed by the title. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Omega Riley rents a cabin and ends up meeting his alpha by the lake. So much for taking time to relax. He ends up in the right place at the right time...perhaps.
Alpha Endre engages in conversation with Riley. After an an accident with a spilled drink, the two get cleaned u. With continued interaction, the two find they have a lot in common and suddenly, Riley's heat is triggered.
Riley ends up expecting. Despite all the fighting for the rights of alphas, and omegas, Endre has had to hid who he really is. Both end up going their separate ways, but Endre can't stop thinking about or looking for Riley.
What will happen when he finds his omega?

Short, sweet, friends to lovers, funny, omega/alpha dynamics. Great book by Sarah Haven. Riley is an omega and he's trying not to get caught. Endre is a prince and he's looking for his mate. The two have an instant attraction from the moment they meet. Their sexy times are hot and once I started reading the book I couldn't put it down. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
