After almost a decade in prison masquerading as ‘re-education’, she found herself stuffed in a shipping container and dropped on an alien world. She’ll need all her powers to survive. Including the forbidden ones, the ones which landed her in prison in the first place.
Lucky for her there are aliens on the planet.
When a dominant feral alien male saves her life, Linda has to come to terms with her power, the power she hasn’t been able to use for over ten years. The power that has the potential to save the alien’s entire clan.
The only problem is that the girl that betrayed her is now a woman.
And that woman is on the planet with her.
What is more important - love, or revenge?
This is a dark-ish HEA scifi full length novel with serious adult themes, a slow burn romance and some graphic violence. It can be read as a stand alone novel but will be more enjoyable to read in sequence with the first book in the series, Unspoken.
I'm just a lady with a foul mouth who really likes writing titillating stories about characters who go through experiences we don't have here on earth.
I like tea.
Yoga is life, meditation is therapy, and a birdfeeder right outside the window is the meaning to life, the universe, and everything.
This story was definitely different to anything I have read previously, paranormal v’s alien v’s jarassic park lol. But it was good enough to keep my interest the whole way through. Most conversations are held telepathically, as that is what the series is based around. This is the second book, I missed that there was a book before this one, and it might have helped give more insight into the series to read no 1 first, but you can still enjoy this one without doing so. The third book sounds intriguing, so it will be going into my TBR file
2.5 stars So the world building is intriguing and there's the kernel of a good story here but it felt like the author wasn't sure what they wanted to do with the female lead's trauma so a lot of it didn't quite land for me. Also, this book desperately needs to have someone with actual formatting skills to take it in hand and the author needs to hire an editor. That said, even with the flaws and fizzled ending, I didn't actually hate this.
Over a month ago, Linda was injected and woke up in a shipping container of some kind. When she was getting low on food, she rationed it out as best she could and became aware that it had a suppressant which was given to telepaths and those capable of telekinetic abilities. But she didn’t want to starve herself to defeat the drug. Then her container was moved, loaded onto something, and a voice said she wanted her to live. She wore a collar that completely blocked her abilities, not just dulled them like the drugs. That way they could read her thoughts and she could not defend herself. More movement and her container was hurled out. When it crashed, the door opened and she fell to the ground! Then she heard a growl and saw a leather boot next to her as a man stood there holding an axe.
Daerk saw an object move through the sky and crash. Her terrible smell would lead the A’adak to them, so he told her to take off her coverings. She did not seem to understand, so ripped the clothing off and had Shadow Eyes, a daot, drag the bundle over the ground and lay a false scent trail. They didn’t have much time to escape. He picked her up and ran through the forest, leaped down a cliff, and hid them both in a huge flower. The A’adak followed trying to find them. He held his hand over the woman’s mouth to keep her absolutely quiet. He heard her thoughts but could not get his through to her for some reason. He hoped she understood to remain perfectly still. The beast was right near their hiding place. One sound would have it tearing them from the flower. Then suddenly the beast gave a horrible roar. Would it attack? Would Daerk have to fight to protect them?
This story line was fabulous, riveting, and captured the reader’s full attention. The fast action never let up from Daerk’s rescuing her from the shipping container to the pursuit by the deadly beast. If you crave action and adventure, you will definitely want to grab this book! I enjoyed it even more than Book 1, which is also excellent. You won’t want to miss this one! There is so much more here!
This author is new to me but I have to say that I realy enjoyed it and could not put this book down. Linda has been trapped and controlled all her life because of her abilities. Shipped here and there at the whim of others so she doesn't realise that anything is different when she is bundled into her latest crate. This time it appears that she has crash landed on a rather primitive planet but then she meets Daerk. He removes her collar and for the first time is a very long time she is able to have control of herself and also her freedom. A misunderstanding at the first means that she thinks she has just moved from one prison to another but it turns out not to be the case. Daerk cannot quite understand the feelings that this woman fallen from the stars pulls from him but he knows that he needs her. Will she feel the same for him or just stay because she knows nothing different. The planet, animals and characters in this book are wonderful and really grip you. I am looking forwrad to the next one!

This book picked up where the first left off, although it definitely seems to have a lot more romance and steamy scenes than science fiction this go round. Linda did not go through the hazing rituals that Keira did in the first book, and that, in my mind at least, helped make this a better book. Seeing just how badly the Alliance treats telepaths and telekinetics made me feel sorry for Linda. While Keira had been through some stuff, it was nothing compared to what the torture that Linda had survived. Seeing what Linda could do in this book, after having rejected the Alliance’s teachings her whole life, makes me wonder what an untortured and undrugged person with those abilities would actually be capable of.
I’m definitely looking forward to Slayer’s book. It will be entertaining to see her get a bit of comeuppance. Her attitude over the first two books has been annoying to say the least.

The female lead in this story has been literally locked in a cage for years so, though she is chronologically an adult, she is functionally a teen, learning to function in society and, additionally, is now in an alien location and needing to learn their culture. The male lead is confused and doing the best he can with a female “star woman” who he has no idea how to help integrate into his society but desperately wants to keep.
The story was heartwrenching in places, especially as the female lead tries to work out who she was and her place in the world. The male lead’s patience and determination to have her consent before allowing the relationship to progress was admirable.
The story is dual POV, well written, and stands alone - I haven’t read the first one in the series, though I probably will now.

This was a great story. Linda was a very strong telepathic and telekinetic abilities the alliance kept her in a non-metallic collar and taking meds that suppressed her abilities. She get put into a metal container and dropped on a planet. When the door swung open she fell out into the dirt and next to her stood a 7 foot alien holding an ax. He ends up saving her life by getting her away from an A'adak that eats people. His name is Daerk and he can speak to Linda telepathic. He tells her that she is safe, he will care for her and she can be adopted into his clan. Their relationship starts off slow and steady. Linda finally finds the courage to let Daerk know that she is attracted to him and wants to have his babies. She learns that the world that she's in she is FREE to do and be who she was always meant to be. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
"The strong must protect the weak, or everything crumbles and falls apart."
Daerk is in the midst of a very important hunt when something out of this world crashes in his territory.
Linda has experienced the worst humanity has to offer, from the ones who worked to convince her she would be a monster if not contained, but now that she's free, she's got a lot to discover.
This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read brings together two characters with remarkable inner strength and conviction who have stood on their own against greater power. After a lifetime of standing alone, turning to others isn't instinctive... but can that kind of trust be earned/given?
This story doubled down on the interesting world building with the native animals from the first book in the series, and I hope we will revisit the animals bonded with here.
This series just gets better and better. I love the premise of the telepaths that are controlled by the government, being freed and finding out that they are not the monsters that the government tries to indoctrinate them into believing. Linda, knew that they were being controlled and confided in her friend who betrayed her. There are so many layers to this story, there is the romance between Linda and Daerk, there's her escape from the Alliance and then there's the betrayal of her friend, that makes for a great story line full of action and adventure with great characters and awesome worldbuilding. A must read!

Read the first in this series last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. As soon as I got into this story I knew I recognized the premise for the female character. I loved Linda and her alien Daerk. He was a great guy and loved how he cared for her and taught her what she needed to know, helping rid her of that awful collar. Was fun to see her teach the child to hover, much to the surprise of her mother. Despite saving the little dragon type creature, she showed it could learn. It was good to catch up with the first books characters and knowing there would more.

This was a very well-written book 2 in The Haven for the Lost Book Series was intriguing as it has very well-thought out scenes, characters, and story. These wonderful characters have very strong wills and personalities and their interactions are believable. This story has the following: intrigue, twists, turns, adventure, action, love, steam and a HEA. It is a well-paced and will keep you engaged from start to finish. This book can be read as a stand alone novel but will be more enjoyable to read in sequence with the first book in the series, Unspoken.

Linda told a "friend" she was not taking the drug that suppressed her abilities. The result, she was forced fed the drug. But she was not like the others. Her talents didn't manifest until later. Her parents were normal, so she knew what it was to be loved . What it was to be free. The Alliance tried to force her to confirm like the other telepaths but deep down she just couldn't. So they put her in a cage depriving her of any contact whatsoever. Someone finally helps by sending her to another planet. It is a hostile world where anything can kill you if you don't what to look out for. Strange world but still fascinating.
Linda has been in a reconditioning centre for eight years. She is abducted and spends a month in a container. When Daerk opens the door she finds herself on a planet where everyone can communicate telepathically like her, she is frightened and confused and broadcasting her emotions. She will need to learn to trust others if she wants to have a future with Daerk.. This is a great series and I look forward to reading more by this author

This is the second book in the series and it has more romance than the first. Daerk, the warrior, is struggling to protect his clan due to an attack by an wild beast attack. He is trying to track this wild beast when the container falls from the sky. Daerk opens the container so the Linda can be freed. He immediately recognizes her as a Star woman like Kiera in the first book. From this place, both Daerk and Linda get to know each other and try to help each other prosper. Read on!
'Woke' in places but still enjoyable. Other than the thankfully scarce 'woke' bits of the story this is pretty enjoyable. I love the sound of the planet, its plants and creatures and how the people live in harmony with the planet. It does make you wonder if we'd really treat telepaths that way. Am pretty certain the answer is.... Yeah we definitely would. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really loved this book. In the beginning I wasn't to sure, but it gets quite good. I was led on a roller-coaster of emotions. From sadness, to pain, to happiness. Poor Linda, what she endured.... At least she finally found a place she can truly belong. My favorite part was with the 'dragon'....
I can't wait for the next book and the 'prima dona'.....

This book was able to grab me from the first page until the last. It is the second book I have read of hers and I enjoyed them both immensely I am looking forward to reading more. It is a stand alone romance with no cheating. There is a lot of action, heat, and conflict between these two. The story will grab you and have you feeling everything they do. Well worth having in your library.

I was totally disappointed in the second book the world building was cool but the story was just kind of bland. you can have world building but you need a story behind it or with it and I felt like there was the lack of a story other than what the world was like and it just wasn’t my cup of tea.
I'd give it more stars if the writers didn't dumb down their characters. I just can't stand stupidity to make a story work. Or woke crap added to a story either.
Une traduction littéralement pitoyable remet en question chaque livre écrit. Soit vous avez un bon livre dans votre langue d'origine soit vous demandez à vos lecteurs un coup de main. Là, c'est pire que Google translate... Ridicule :(
