3,8. Thank you Sansa Rayne for the ARC.
This book was very complex, full of angst, but great. I thought too much information and unnecessary issues.
But... it’s worth the reading.

Reckless was so well written, the plot and characters were spectacular! A wonderful twist on Master's and courtesans made this a compelling read.
Although the story was slow to start it picked up momentum and didn't let up until the last page.
Kate is a journalist, she is tenacious and goes after a story with the zeal of a pit bull. But sadly that puts her in the sights of the Masters, an elite group of men who manipulate the world from behind the scenes. Particularly Ingram is tasked with fetching her and bringing her back to the islands.
This story was completely riveting and gripping.

Sansa Rayne has a new story out,and it’s not just any story.....
This is a trilogy, filled to the brim with suspense. Not only that,it also has a dark side that has Sansa’s signature written all over it,and i love it!
She even has a prequel called Wild, that’s free.
It shows you what happens before Kate and Ingram meet and adds even more to your reading experience.
Download it here, and read it before you start Reckless.

In Reckless,Kate Atwood meets Ingram Dent for the first time.
As a reporter known for doing whatever she needs to do to expose corrupt businessmen,it’s impossible resist the bait he dangles in front of her.
Being forced to take a break after her latest attempt to confront one nearly got her killed isn’t something she’s happy about.
So getting the scoop on another businessman is just too good to pass....right?
Only this time her reckless behaviour has consequences that will change her life forever.
Because she ends up being Ingram’s captive, and is taken to the Enclave, the island where the Masters reside.

Ingram was ordered to kill Kate after her stunt with Victor.
But he’s got trouble of his own and what he needs,is someone with a fresh eye, someone smart enough to see whatever he’s missing.
And Kate is not only reckless and tenacious, she is also very intelligent....
They manage to strike a deal, but once on the island,Ingram finds things are not as they should be.
Kate may to have to keep him close by if she wants to survive the trouble brewing...

Is there anyone Kate can trust?
She has a click with Ingram, and he seems to feel the same.
He may have gotten her out of harm’s way a few times, but is he really the one to keep her from getting killed?

Reckless was a rollercoaster ride, straight into danger, with hot and steamy moments that had me running towards a cold shower more than once.
It ended with a cliffhanger that has me in a desperate need for Disciplined.
Good thing i won’t have to wait tóó long.....

Well, Kate was most definitely Reckless, putting herself in an incredibly dangerous situation with Ingram and the Masters. However Sansa Rayne cleverly crafted her character, as well as giving us the necessary insight, so as to make those choices believable. Sometimes I feel as though the kidnapped/captive trope is a little overdone but the author polished this tired idea up, spinning it in an intriguing and enjoyable new direction. Overall I didn't feel that this was an incredibly dark read, since the sex was purely consensual. However the punishment scenes definitely ventured into dub-con/non-con territory.

I found myself very much liking Kate, despite the fact that she was quite a closed off person, so focused on her work that she had few friends and no time for a relationship. However her strength, determination and moral fortitude had me enamoured with her even quicker than Ingram was. Talking of Ingram, he was everything you would want in an anti-hero. He was as morally corrupt as Kate was honest, he was bad through to the bone and for purely selfish reasons. But he worshipped the ground she walked on and would raze the world to ashes to protect her.

The only negative, which was small, was this is a little bit too insta-love for me. I could have lived without the declaration of feelings in this book, given that it is part of a trilogy. It felt rushed and too soon. Without a shadow of a doubt I totally believed in their attraction for one another and in the emergence of some feelings, but love felt a little bit too much at this point. However the fast paced action, the intrigue, the third pov and the constant reminders (each time one got comfortable) that Kate is very much NOT safe had me not wanting to put this down until I had finished it.

Kudos to the author for having Kate doubt the veracity of her feelings for Ingram, to question the hows and whys of her emotions. I loved that even though she held a powerful attraction for (and to) him, Kate wasn't prepared to compromise her beliefs and her "self". I was also pleased that Ingram didn't have a sudden change of personality either. He is an assassin, he isn't a good man despite the fact that he is good to Kate. When the story ends he still retains his "bad man" mindset, he isn't looking for ways for him to "go straight" and disappear with Kate. In fact he still seems to harbour some hopes that she will choose to work alongside him.

So the TL;DR version of this is that I very much enjoyed it, really liked both MC's, have no idea what will happen next and can't wait for book #2!

Sensual, dark & delicious

WOW!! I need five minutes to pick my mouth up off the floor and gather my thoughts. Sansa Rayne's RECKLESS was unlike any book I had read before. Ms. Rayne's addictive words made it an impossibility to put it down. It was gripping, erotic, edgy, mysterious, sensual, and deliciously dark ... just how I love my books. Although RECKLESS is the first instalment in her trilogy The Masters, Ms. Rayne does have a short prequel, Wild, available. I would recommend reading it as it gives a little bit of background to both Kate and Ingram. (link available at the end of this review)

Kate Atwood is an investigative journalist chasing the biggest story of her career, only to have it blow up in her face. She meets Ingram Dent, an International Operative, hired to kill her. Instead, he gives her an offer that is too good to refuse ... or is it? He takes her away to The Enclave, an island owned by a group of men, The Masters, where everything is not as it seems. The island is a dark place of debauchery, a place where women are treated as second class citizens, it is definitely a place where men do the ruling.

Kate is such a strong character; she has her beliefs and is continually trying to live up to them. Her upbringing and career have given her a very pointed view ... it's either black or white, there are no grey areas ... however, her time on the island and with Ingram is forcing her to see different perspectives. She is a woman who knows how to stand up for herself, although Ingram does test all of her thinking. Their connection is instant, their chemistry is mindblowing and their sensual escapades are explosive ... but is it enough to allow a trust to develop between them?

RECKLESS is a dark read, full of greed, lust, betrayal, abuse and men determined to get what they want no matter the cost. Can Kate survive the Enclave and live to tell her story? Will Ingram defend the woman who has begun to destroy his barriers, or will he give her to the wolves? Not for those with a weak heart (or stomach), RECKLESS will throw the reader into a world beyond their imagination. Disciplined is up next, and I cannot wait to see what Sansa Rayne has in store for Kate and Ingram.

An absolute MUST READ for lovers of suspense and dark romance ... A top ten read for 2021.

This is the first of Sansa Rayne’s books I’ve read and have really enjoyed it even though it’s left me hanging!!!!

It’s got a dark element to it, certainly not for the feint hearted. The archaic society at the centre of this is somewhat patriarchal, women are abused, used and humiliated....you have been warned!

I would highly recommend reading Wild which is a prequel novella for this series, as this gives you some insight into Kate and one other major character in this book.

Kate is a very high profile reporter, who’s gotten herself noticed by the wrong people after trying to take down a major player.

Ingram....well he’s pretty much an assassin, but he’s also a major player in the bigger game that Kates about to be thrown into, wether she wants to be or not. Once you’re in there’s only one way to leave......!!!

This ends on a cliffhanger for sure and I want Disciplined....NOW 😏

This was my first Sansa Rayne's book and definitely won't be my last. This is the first book in The Masters Trilogy, an amazingly DARK romantic suspense. I recommend to read the prequel, Wild, before this one. Kate and Ingram's story is suspenseful, dark, raw, and captivating, filled with mystery, secrets, intrigue, BDSM scenes, danger, and twists and turns. Kate, an investigative reporter, is definitely reckless. Ingram, an assassin, is dark, dominant, and enigmatic. They share a sizzling chemistry. The cast of supporting characters is impressive, and the characters are well developed, and intriguing. This isn't a story for the faint of heart. The world building is complex, and enthralling. I enjoyed it, and I can't wait for the next book in the series. If you like DARK romantic suspense, with BDSM elements, this one is for you. I just found another favorite author!

Another fabulous book by author Sansa Rayne!

Reckless is the first book in a new dark trilogy called The Masters. It tells the story of Kate Atwood, a well-known journalist for the LPN news channel. Her father was a famous Pulitzer prize-winning journalist, and Kate strives to be one as well. However, she often takes risks, and she recently went a little too far.

Ingram Dent, one of the most powerful men in a group called The Masters, is tasked with capturing Kate and ensuring her silence. Once Ingram secures Kate, he brings her to The Master's remote island called Enclave. Can Kate find a way off the island before it’s too late?

Reckless was a deliciously dark story, and I loved every minute of it! I about died during the last chapter, and now I’m dying to read the next book in the series!

I recommend adding Reckless to your TBR list!

When reporter Kate Atwood gets entangled in a dangerous story she might regret looking for answers. Taking down a powerful man named Victor Sovereign leads her into the grasp of a secret society or cabal called The Masters and their assassin Ingram Dent. He is suppose to dispose of her but not trusting the Masters himself, he takes her captive instead. Will Kate be able to escape the Enclave Islands or will it be too late for her freedom? Can Ingram find who betrayed him within his group? Maybe he can use Kate to uncover what he needs. This is a twisted, captive, romantic suspense that will have you wanting more. Beware as it ends on a cliffhanger. Contains Slave/Master, BDSM and is not for the faint at heart. Told in dual POV

Thank You Sansa for allowing us the opportunity to become a part of your ARC team and reaching out to us.

So let me first start off with a little warning. For those of you that are not into BDSM Punishments or a bit of Rough BDSM then don't read this book but if you want a little enlightenment and enjoy any sort of BDSM Novels then you need to read this. There you go the party pooper has now left the building 😜!

Where to start with this book, Ingram is a man you would not want to mess with or come across, as you know what your fate is if you do. He is tall, dark, muscular rough and has an awesome Killer instinct (he will have your thighs shaking that is for sure). He is high up in the rankings of the enclave an unknown entity of the world that holds more power than anyone is even aware of.

Kate is a news reporter and one who pushes the limit not caring for the consequences as long as she uncovers the true nature of the story and the evil and bad in the world. She is strong, Stubborn and tough as nails. she has no problem standing up and announcing how she feels there is a need. So she has no fear when Ingram a known killer and dangerous man phones her demanding she put a bomb on around her neck and get in the waiting limo, that is until she realises what that means for her or what she thinks it means.

The enclave is an island that men rule, the women are all slaves to the men and are treated so. some women sleep in cages, some don't but the women all know their place and what it is they are there for and that is to please any man who wants it. When Ingram brings Kate back to the enclave he doesn't realise just how smitten he is to become of her and she is definitely not ready for the feelings Ingram evokes in her and for what she is about to witness and also have to do. The women all wear only a thong bikini and all have leashes. The BDSM and the scenes in this will literally have you gripped. The story takes on many levels that some may be uncomfortable with however I seriously enjoyed reading this book.

Just so you all know it ends on a slight cliffhanger and Now I just need book 2 so that I can get some answers.

Compelled to devour this captivating series beginning
Reckless (The Master’s Series Book1) by Sansa Rayne is amazingly compelling. While I had not read anything by this author before this book, I had no idea what I was getting into! I found that I was hooked almost immediately to the exclusion of nearly all else. Completely captivated by the characters, storyline and the author’s writing, I loved every minute of reading Ingram and Kate’s beginning. There is so much more to this story than a simple dark romance! Many dark elements abound throughout Reckless, making it an absolute page turning, nail biting, gut wrenching, heartbreaking, pulse pounding, breath stealing, and sometimes sadistically, but more often sensual thrill. The scenes through both Ingram and Kate’s POV give a range of emotions and feelings; rage, relief, purpose, hope, despair, determination, protectiveness, possession and even tentative happiness.
The plots are engaging and grab you by the throat. The premise of this group of powerful men and their kinky, sadistic free-for-all, no safe word BDSM proclivities as well as an all encompassing lust for power, make this an uncomfortable read but in a steamy way with emotional depth that keeps the reader engrossed and on edge. Additionally, the antagonist (who) is made evident through a third POV, but the exact reason is not entirely made clear which creates suspense and mystery on top of everything else.
Overall, this BDSM with a strong emphasis on the S, is a compelling read that was very hard to put down. This author created amazing characters that are very well developed and extremely interesting that have me clamoring for more. Ingram and Kate find their way, with great difficulty, to a promising happy for now as well as a guarantee there is more excitement on the way. I loved, loved, loved! the to be continued style ending!
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.

Flipping fritters fred! Sparks ignite as this action packed, hard hitting, heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping, jaw dropping, block buster detonates and blows wide, putting our characters through their paces, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Shattered perimeters and busted boundaries engage as limitations and restrictions are forced and tested merging with the riveting drama, gripping intrigue, underlying threats, duplicitous deeds, devious schemes, brutal tactics, cruel attrocities, vicious iniquity, spiraling danger, escalating suspense and spine tingling situations ensue in epic proportions, revelations are unearthed and promises pledged, cognizant of the perilous twists and pivotal turns unfolding, launching this bad boy to life spectacularly. “A king of kings, a player moving his pawns across the chessboard. The world is his game — he’s been winning it for more than a decade. All I could do was watch, until today. Now I’m the one moving pieces. Making moves. Playing both sides. It’s my turn.”

Sansa never disappoints me, her books are deliciously twisted, have elements of suspense, with ruthless men and the steam has the kettle whistling. Initially I was trying to figure out which direction this story was taking us and then it all came together. Unable to take my eyes away until I read the words “The End.” If you want your female characters to be fearless and strong willed, you’ll love Kate Atwood as much as I did. Whilst she’s only a piece being strategically moved by the Masters, ultimately she controls her own destiny. Who would of imagined a woman could bring the Masters to their knees, scared of the power she wields, they want her executed. Ingram wants to use her mind for his own gain, his forward thinking has him wanting her to be the first woman given the same power as the masters. This puts their lives in further danger and keeping your friends close and your enemies closer becomes imperative. Who is this man who beguiles his equals, but has a mysterious past? I can’t wait for the next book in the trilogy Discipline.

The novella introduced us to Kate and Ingram and gave us a tiny hint at who they each are…now begins the journey of the two in the first book of the trilogy…Reckless describes Kate to a tee~ She is highly intelligent, ruthless, and provocative when needed to get answers, loyal, honest, stubborn to a fault, with morals that many believe she does not possess. Then there is Ingram…powerful, dangerous, killer, businessman, secretive, ruthless with no morals. He is perverse with his needs and Kate shall soon discover she is as well~ A group of the most powerful men in the world from all walks of life calls themselves the Masters. Kate attacked the wrong one in Wild…Victor~ All the others voted for her death, but Ingram wants her beyond anything else…will it be his undoing? Or will she give him even more? He takes her from her world into his…it will be painful, humiliating, arousing, awakening…but most of all…it will make her crave vengeance, justice, and HIM~ Find out just how far they will go to save one another against common enemies they cannot show weakness in front of…so many secrets, so many hands in the pot…what will happen to whom? I received an ARC copy of this book and voluntarily left a review and it is that good...this is a book that has many triggers in it~

This is the first time I have read a book by Sansa Raine and I enjoyed it. Although the beginning is slow slowly it gets as much advice as the dark book should be.
In this book, we meet Kate an investigative journalist, a strong independent missionary who knows what she wants and does not give up who gets caught in a chain reaction that leads to her abduction. And who if not the undisputed man of the hour - Ingram. The man who will decide whether Kate will be alive or die.
Kate and Ingram's world collide with each other, two powerful characters who know what they want and connect in such a way that to stay alive they must work together.
This book has secrets, betrayal, chemistry, and hot steamy scenes. Some twists and turns leave you wanting to know more. There is a dark element to this, certainly not for the faint of heart. The archaic society in this center is somewhat patriarchal, women are abused, abused, and humiliated ... See you were warned!
In order not to do spoilers I highly recommend reading Wild which is a preview novel for this series, as it gives you some insights about Kate and another major character in this book.
There's indeed a sequel and it ends in Cliffhanger but it's worth reading and what's more fun than trying a new writer and entering a new world of darkness.

'Reckless' is the first book in Sansa Rayne's "The Masters" series, a dark, sometimes twisted, romance. We meet Kate, daughter of a highly successful journalist, with her own reputation as an investigative journalist that has put her job, reputation, and life on the line. Yep, she's that good and has made that may enemies by being so successful. Ingram is a businessman who is part of a group who manipulate countries, governments, politics, economies, and of course, medias. The group has unanimously voted she must die after having one of the group proven to be active in criminal activity. Ingram, on the other hand needs her to live. Someone is trying to kill him and has put out several contracts on his life up to now. Thankfully, for him, each has failed. That's why he's kidnapped Kate and brought her to the Masters Enclave island. He wants her to help him discover who is in charge of the plot against him. There are so many twists and turns, secrets that will blew my mind, and a mystery that kept me on edge throughout the entire story. I can hardly wait for book two, it's that good.

Ends on a cliffhanger...

Kate Atwood is at the top of her game as an investigative reporter – well-respected, with an ability to connect the dots to see the big picture. She’s also very intelligent, clever and tenacious in the pursuit of a story. Which is exactly how she falls into the hands of Ingram Dent, an assassin for a cabal of the world’s most powerful men – the Masters.

I liked that Kate refused to accept her incarceration as a done deal, and was constantly plotting her escape. Ingram was a reserved, dominant, and dangerous man with few regrets for his past actions on behalf of the Masters. I enjoyed how both were changed because of the other’s influence. Together, they make one formidable team, and I look forward to the fallout from their ambitious planning.

I loved this story! It’s a well written, dark romance that doesn’t shy away from humiliation, public degradation, punishment and torture. There’s plenty of intrigue, anguish, suspense, secrets, deception and a few twists, along with dirty talk and several explicit encounters, featuring elements of BDSM. I’m eagerly awaiting the continuation of this riveting tale in the next book, ‘Disciplined’.

I appreciate receiving an ARC of this story!

Kate Atwood is persuaded to join Ingram Dent to find out who has a target pinned to his back. Kate had to agree to certain terms upon entering the Enclave where the Masters, including Ingram, stay at. Alot of big shots are there, and in the time Kate is there, crazy events take place. Ingram longs to drag out the person who is trying to take him down, all while trying to take over the leaders seat. At first, Kate wasn’t too fond of Ingram, and somewhere along the way, she sees that there is more to Ingram than what his reputation gives of him.

I did not give five stars because I felt the character development was a bit hot and cold, and hard to follow through. It seemed that Ingram was a broody, no nonsense dom. He treated Kate in a pet like manner, then later shows affection toward her and didn’t seem to go with his personality. Just as with Kate where she pretty much hates his guts, is disgusted with him, then all over him the next moment. It was hard to follow with that. The story line was pretty good with the who-dunnit suspense.
Also, I think the choice words for the good ‘parts’ was a tad bit cringeworthy. To me it kinda takes the hotness out of it. Just me though!

Kate Atwood is the take-charge daughter of an award-winning journalist and the woman who, as a journalist in her own right, isn't afraid of a fight and to take down anyone from a Senator to business tycoon for malfeasance...but she was trapped by Ingram Dent, a man who ran an intelligence gathering outfit who captured her...he is part of a secret organization called The Masters who hold a private Caribbean island call The Enclave. The group had voted to kill her for going after Victor Sovereign who supposedly died in a helicopter crash after she got him arrested and prosecuted...but he's on the island....The masters are all business or criminal masterminds and can manipulate the world from their island...if only she could escape the guards, patrol boats and the cage Ingram keeps her in...you will need to read this enticing story to see what happens between her and Ingram, the man who wants to tame her and the rest of these characters, on order to find who wants to kill Ingram as well as Kate...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely

I recommend reading the prequel to this gem, Wild, if at all possible before beginning Reckless as it helps put everything in context. Kate is a well-known journalist who is a force in her own right, but also desperate to emerge from her father’s shadow. Her tenacity and determination to expose corruption and shine the light of truth everywhere (even at her own peril) get her benched. She makes some powerful enemies who want her silenced permanently. She finds herself in an irresistible trap. The operative tasked with her elimination has other ideas. That’s where things get interesting. Thrust into a dangerous world at the mercy of the most powerful enemies she’s made, Kate fights for her life and her sanity, not to mention that inconvenient attraction to her captor. The world building is incredible, the writing is phenomenal, the plot is unpredictable and very engaging. This book is as delicious as it is dark, and I very much look forward to seeing how things continue to unfold in this trilogy.

Exciting and sensual story – book 1 of the Masters Series
This is the first of three books in the Masters Series, and ends with a cliff hanger. It is a terrific story – a dark, interesting plot, interesting characters, a lot of excitement, sex, and BDSM. I look forward to reading the next two books that complete the series. Kate is a wealthy young woman and well known investigative journalist, who has exposed a really bad man. It leads to her getting kidnapped by Ingram, who is part of the same organization as the man she exposed – the Masters. Living on a secluded island in the Bahamas, they have great wealth and control over businesses and influence government and other affairs – and live as masters on the island, with a lot of women who serve them. Kate finds herself among all of this – in danger of her life and at the same time falling passionately for Ingram. There is a lot of action as she endures punishments and humiliation, while her relationship with Ingram strengthens. Both Kate and Ingram are interesting, intelligent and likable – and there are a lot of other interesting characters and events which make the story an enjoyable, intense read. I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Reckless is the first book in The Masters series by Sansa Rayne.

Kate work LPN a Media Corporation as a journalist and reporter. She's always ready to risk everything to get a story and she even took down a powerful man. But now, his friends wants to make sure it will never happen again.

Ingram, lured her into a trap and kidnap her. Taking her to their island, he's gonna covered her disappearance, since she was supposed to take some time off anyway. In constant danger of being punished or even death if The Masters decide that, she have no chance of escaping on her own. But someone is also trying to get Ingram kills and he wants her help to find out who he is. But submiting to Ingram wakes some dark desires in Kate and she crave his dominance. Even if this one swears he will protect her from the other masters, no one is truely safe around them.

A great first book in a serie. Really love it. I have received an arc of this book from the author. Can't wait for the next one in the serie.

"Dark" romances can be a mixed bag. There are usually danger, suspense and some sort of suffering mixed in and, of course, a dark romance includes some form of romance. Some authors equate romance to sex so as long as there's sex they'll call it a romance. Often, I find dark romances to not have much hope. In the end, if the woman becomes content with her treatment, then all is forgiven and there is no hope for anything better. After all, if they come to accept their treatment then it can't get better than that, right?

This dark romance is different. Kate is strong and although she is smart enough to realize when things may not change, she is willing to still think that things could change. I don't want to include any spoilers so I will not go into any details about her actions or those of Ingram. I will say that in this cause there isn't blind acceptance.

This is part one of a three-part series and ends in a cliffhanger. It is compelling and includes quite a bit of intrigue, elements of torture, dismissal of the value of human life, and some truly evil men. It also has hot sex, intelligent characters, and real emotions. I had a hard time putting it down. I can't wait for the second book.

I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Wow, I went into this not knowing what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised. It takes the kidnapping trope in a whole different and intriguing direction. Kate is great as a heroine, since I hate pushovers. And Ingram is an ass beginning to end (lol), but he does still have a conscience. They work well together, though I feel that deeper feelings developed too quickly, especially for Kate. And I love BDSM elements, but the humiliation factor in this is high, though nothing I couldn't read through.

I love the intrigue that the third narrator brings into the story, and that I still have no idea why he hates Ingram. I'm invested in seeing how one couple can work around a network like the Masters, and take this outlying element down.

Bombs, intrigue, abduction, obsession, collars, cages, and Alphas, the first book in this series has it all.

As you read this book you will fall in love with the main characters like I did. First there is Kate, she is a well known journalist who can take on any challenge in this man dominated field; however, one story has her knee deep in danger and finding herself fighting for her life.

Then there is Ingram, he is a mercenary, not to mention very dangerous and drop dead gorgeous. His mission is to bring Kate to heel or he may be left with a decision that will not bode well for Kate.

There is a cliffhanger and I can’t wait for the second book of this series to come out. I would recommend this book in a heartbeat!

I have read this book as an ARC and this is my honest review!

Kate Atwood is a famous journalist well-known for her ability to expose white collar criminals despite the life threatening danger. Ingram Dent is an “international operative known for his ruthless intelligence gathering techniques.” Shortly after being required to take a sabbatical, Kate is contacted by Ingram to help infiltrate a dangerous arms dealer. Will she agree? How can she turn down this thrilling assignment?

Ingram takes her to his private jet where he takes her to the “Enclave.” This is a unique and extremely private island where a small group of men, called Masters, gather for relaxation and communication. It is from here where they can plan and decide how to control much of the world. Kate is Ingram’s captive. Much happens in this hideaway. It is filled with power, control, revenge, retribution, greed, punishment, and numerous women taught to eagerly submit.

A simply riveting read, great characters and plot
I started reading this book after first reading Wild so was looking forward to see what this book would be like and must say that as usual, I was totally blown away, the characters were simply wonderful and the actual storyline and plot were so beautifully written.
Although this was described as a dark romance, I must say that this was such a complex story that once you begin reading will hold you totally enthralled and I can one hundred percent guarantee that you will not be able to put this down until you read the very last sentence on the very last page, speaking for myself this led to an extremely late but very enjoyable night reading.
This story is written with BDSM elements and also some very kinky scenes that are simply wonderfully written and it was a lovely surprise to discover that there is another book to follow which if it is any where as enjoyable as this will be a simply riveting read filled with hours of great characters and very sexy happening and wonderful plot.
I highly recommend this read by this wonderful author.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

While this story started out a bit slow, just hang in there. Because once it takes off it really grabs you and it's hard to put down. Kate is a world known name as a reporter, which puts her in danger because she knows too much. She doesn't go for the easy stuff. No. She wants to take on all the major evil in the world. Guess what? The major evil doesn't like that at all. And that is when the story really takes off. I enjoyed having a heroine who looks out for herself and is basically brilliant. And she is going to need all her brains to out think everyone who wants her dead. This book has a lot of dark in it, so beware if you are sensitive to that. Sansa's mind must be an interesting place with all the punishments and torture scenes she came up with. Ends on a cliff hanger, and can't wait to see who "someone" is.

Kate is a famous journalist that has exposed a famous man. He is presumed dead, but he is one of the Masters, men that work together to control the world. The Masters vote to have Kate killed, but the man sent to kill her, Ingram Dent, wants her to help him figure out who is trying to kill him. So, he captures Kate and brings her to the island that is somewhere in the Caribbean. There are many women on the island, but they all are submissives who cannot leave. Once on the island, Kate is to help Ingram find who is trying to kill him. And, Kate being Kate, she gets herself in trouble that even Ingram has problems getting her out of. There are some intense punishment scenes that are pretty hard core. I enjoyed reading them, but beware of triggers. This book ends on a HFN, something that I don't usually read until I have all the books. But, this book catches you right away and you just have to finish.
