A king with a crown of thorns, a heart of stone, and evil in his soul. He hides it well though, under a beautiful smile and eyes that ravage your heart. But Stoneview Prep’s golden boy has always had a dark aura around him. Like a well-guarded secret. A blackness that he never lets anyone see.
"Curiosity killed the cat, Jamie." My mom always tells me.
She never said it would get me in more trouble than I could handle. She never said it would throw me into the dark world of Jake White. And when I not-so-accidentally find out part of Jake’s past, I finally learn the consequences of mischievous nosiness.
Curiosity doesn’t kill this cat. It turns it into a mouse to be played with.
At least that’s what Jake decided.
Jake
Three years. That’s how much my twin and I got of freedom before our past caught up with us.
We were doing well, we were being good, we were keeping out of trouble. Most of all, I was in control. But trouble always finds a reason to make its way back to us. And when it does, Jamie Williams is here to witness it. In the morning I learned of her existence, in the afternoon she was spying on me like a fangirl.
This girl is desperate to find out what’s behind the golden boy’s facade I was kind enough to put on.
So be it.
I have time on my hands, darkness on my mind, and a hundred ways to make Jamie Williams bend to my will.

STORY:
I felt so discombobulated. I felt like my head exploded, and I am a mess emotionally. What in the soap opera universe did I just read?
First, the prologue, 60% of the time, they don’t get me excited, but this one wet that appetite for what was to come. Now, this book had so many components and things going on. I had positives and negatives, and I felt as though the positives out weigh the negatives for me on this one. The beginning was a slow burn and I have a love hate relationship with that. I don’t think certain scenes were needed, but I always say it’s like a double edge sword because I see what the author was doing establishing certain things and key moments. This is hard for me as well because you feel like you are drifting away from the story, however, I got sucked back in and could not stop reading.
Jamie seems a bit naïve, but that’s a part of the allure for me in this book. The prefect daughter and student is beginning to unravel. Her emotions are all over the place and I think she too felt discombobulated. Jake was intense. I have to be honest though, I resented the author (not in a serious way) for putting these other guys in my path because it fully prevented me from giving 100% focus to Jake. I don’t know what’s to come with this series but why am I liking Chris and Nathan so much, this is why I am discombobulated! Amongst other things, Jamie is trying to figure a mysterious with her family, so this should be interesting what things unfold.
CHEMISTRY: So sexually, this wasn’t an all the way thing, but I was massively teased and was kept engaged by the characters. I like this build up and I’m anxious. Who will it be?
SECONDARY CHARACTERS: There are so many characters. At first, I felt a little overwhelmed, however, once I started getting to know everyone I became comfortable.
Chris - I really like him, but he is Mr. Mix signals. Want to know what’s up with him.
Nathan - Sexy bravado. I hope I won’t regret saying that with book 2.
Rose -Jake’s sister. She’s like a walking nympho.
Emily- Jamie’s best friend. Questionable. Gets a new boyfriend and you don’t exist. But I have a feeling her bubble is about to burst.
Mean Girls - More like jealous girls.
OVERALL, not a fan of the slow burn here, but I still appreciate the storyline and the direction the story is taking me. Not sure if it will be for everyone, but stay the course patiently as it gets better as the storyline progresses. It’s a cliffy, and I don’t fancy those most of the times but I am invested and need to know what happens.
TRIGGERS: Bullying and violence
****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.
This book was a hot mess. There were too many players and the h seemed want any and every guy she comes across.. The shit she was doing with the "H" (don't really know if he's the MC). There was too much going on with no backstory. There a lot of plot holes.. please fill them XD lol
The dumb things: -H had a gun to the h's head and threaten to kill her but that didn't seem to bother her. -There was physical abuse, dub-con, body betraying. -Having a bf that's not the H, oh and the dude is 21 but is completely okay with dating a 17yr old. -The H does a ton of shit to her but yet he says he loves her. -The H still banging his gf/exgf even after the h comes into the picture. -There's gangs and the h pictures herself a detective :/
Hard Pass. Sorry to the author for giving her such a bad review :(

I can see how this was “maybe” Lola’s first book?!?!? 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t really know if it was but it sure looks like. The other books she has are impeccable, the North Shore series will be forever one of my ABSOLUTELY FAVORITE dark romance series, but this one was a mess. I was reading this literally to get details since I know the whole story because I’ve read her books out of order. I LOVE bully romance, I LOVE dark romance, but there is a way of doing and you win some and lose some…. Let’s start with Jamie the FMC, she is supposedly super smart, amazing, good, mature and her only focus is go to a good College and find out what happened to her brother. She is this girl who “supposedly” doesn’t allow anyone to step on her and allows no man to do whatever they want. WELL NEWS FLASH she is the complete opposite. She irked me to no end, she is dumb as fuck. Everyone and their mothers do whatever they want to her. It feels like she’s in heat, she likes every guy that looks her way. Bitch go find out what happened to your brother, yes lie, cheat and take over whatever is needed BUT BE FUCKING SMART. She is stupider than stupid and she does everything that lands her in trouble in the most stupid ways. I am sick and tired of spineless FMC’s, that’s another reason her other books are amazing specially the North Shore series, cause every female there are BAD BITCHES ! The highlight of this book to me was seem NATHAN WHITE. 🔥 Now let’s talk about Jake the MMC . Let’s say he has NOTHING on the guys from the North Shore series, yes he is mean, violent and dangerous, but his character is a big miss from Lola. I am glad she perfected after this because I can’t express enough how much I love her other books. Jake got on my nerves….. 😡😡😡 he is so inconsistent, immature, troubled and above all INSUFFERABLE. What a miserable character. He doesn’t know what he wants. A tonnnnnnnnnnnn of other woman drama, oh also other man drama by Jamie’s part. I felt like I was reading a book designed for 13/14 years old but not at all for this age due to the X Rate scenes. I felt like it was too immature. In conclusion, I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS. Won’t be finishing this series. Thank goodness I don’t need to learn anything from it because I already know. Bye ✌🏼
oh boy where do i start with this one… every time i jump into a bully romance with the exception of aidenelsa/rina kent (lmaoo ik pls don’t judge) i get reminded of why this trope itself put me in over a year long reading slump
i’m sorry but the writing and everything about this book felt like a badly executed wattpad book. rather than us getting to know the characters and understand the world, we get told every little detail and characteristic in excessively long paragraphs by the fmc. there was just so much telling as opposed to showing which in this book felt draining. trust me, i don’t need to read paragraphs filled with the fmc’s “not like other girls” inner monologue 😭
the fmc… guys i’m so sorry but jamie’s character is diabolical. initially, i thought i’d feel bad for her but not even two chapters in and this girl is attracted to every guy she interacts with?? she spends this book torn between her crush on chris, her attraction to jake (mmc) who terrorizes her half the book, and her love (?) + attraction for nathan, her boyfriend… who spoiler, is jake’s older brother lmaoo there’s this scene where after trying to kiss her longtime crush, chris and getting rejected, she gets jealous upon seeing jake with his girlfriend. babes did we not just try to go for another guy? she’s also unbelievably nosy. every time she sees anyone having a private conversation she simply has to know so she’ll spy on the whole interaction. it’s a quirk of hers that she’s curious and can’t help it?? 😭
jake, the mmc is despicable. i don’t think i’ve read a book where i hated both the main characters so much 😭 but it takes a special kind of person to make me hate the fmc more than the mmc. his whole thing was getting back at her for all the nonstop spying and stealing his sister’s burner phone to be even more nosy. he feels drawn to her and while it took a bit of time, he does break up with his girlfriend for the fmc. this is far more than the fmc could do considering she knows she’s attracted to jake but still stays with nathan while fucking around with jake around the 80% mark (?) he becomes pretty sweet with her and i did enjoy that!
lmaooo now to the star of the show, the person who made this worth reading for me. nathan white 🫶🏽 is he a psychopath, maybe? did he lie to her, also maybe? but i’m sorry i loved him. he calls her beautiful and he’s so sweet with her :( he posted her on his instagram with beautiful in italian as the caption 🥹 beat up and threatened this guy for trying to hurt her 🙂↕️ he deserves better. the fmc played them both so bad 😭 it took the fmc until 97% to tell the mmc that she was dating someone…
cliffhanger ending which i already knew about since i knew of this character from another series with his book so that wasnt crazy exciting but i can see how it’d be entertaining for someone who went into this universe blind. i genuinely don’t think i would ever recommend this book to someone other than for the sole purpose of being introduced to some major characters you’ll get other books for! idk if i even addressed everything i wanted to since i’m writing these after finishing the series but whatever 😭
I expected sophisticated + classy and well executed writing, but instead I just got a shitty porn version of a wattpad book. The writing is really, really horrible. I came here for the smut but there are only maybe 2 steamy scenes.
The characters are flat, one-dimensional. There is a lot of telling, as in the writer relies explicitly on saying what the characters are (ie Jamie- omg I am so hardworking and all i want is to get into a good university uwu // Jake- I am a badass because i am so animalisitic growl i am so manly everyone back off).
The lines are so horrible!! The sheer amount of times Jamie is boasting about how much of a pick-me girl she is. She also shames the popular girls , skinny shaming them for being basic bitches? While patting herself on her back about how special she is not to be like other girls. "She dances, cheers, runs, gyms...anything that has to do with being fit, developing your muscle and looking the opposite of those poor starved girls on a juice cleanse that parade during the debutante balls."
"I'm 'work hard, then work harder'. I'm top of the school, ready for college, and captain of the team. I need to meet the conditions for my scholarship to UPenn. I want to become a surgeon, not Miss America.".
AAAAAAnd she continues to repeat this througout the whole book, just in case the reader has not absorbed the fact how special and non-basic and admirable she is compared to all the other high school SKANKs.
She keeps bragging about how much she is not a hoe/slut but she literally cheats on her boyfriend and when she admitted" it to him she only said they kissed but in real life they had a fucking threesome and that hoe loved it.... girl I AM here for the smut and I am a hoe too, so if you gonna be a hoe then own it, don't act like an angel it's so revolting and pretensive, selfish, self-absorbed, delusional.
And like.... she "mewls" during seggs? What the fuck is mewl? Like a fucking cat? Seriously the author uses this word so much.. five times. That is a lot for like 2 sexual scenes.
Don't even get me started on how revolting Jake is as a character. I get that he is supposed to be toxic and un-redeeming. We are all here for kinky toxic doms. I know. but it is the execution that sucks. I mean seriously. He goes on and on about how wild and animalistic and dark he is. He is smirking left and right all the time. Throws out absolutely ridiculous lines like:
"This is my territory, baby, you're just a little sheep that walked right into the wolf's den".
Giving in absolutely amazing debut by Lola King! It is a perfectly executed bully romance that had me hooked from the first page!
This is the first book in the Stoneview series that focuses on Jake and Jamie. Jamie is innocent and slightly naive goody two shoes. As a captain of the lacrosse team, her main focus is to stay on top of the school so she can get a college scholarship. Unfortunately, she’s also too curious for her own good and can’t help but be intrigued and drawn to Jake.
Jake seems like the school’s golden boy but Jamie is determined to find out secrets he hides behind his facade. When Jamie sees something she wasn’t supposed to, she just continues to dig herself deeper by trying to figure out Jake’s demons. And Jake is all too happy to turn her life into living hell.
Wow, these two were definitely something else together! The bullying was top notch and no matter how much Jake threatened and intimidated Jamie she just wouldn’t go down without a fight! And boy did things turn dark fast!! This book has it all; cold, dark, bully anti-hero, mystery and suspense, high school drama, slow burn enemies to lovers with hot and intense chemistry, and a loose love triangle. I won’t say anything else about the second guy because I’m one hundred percent team Jake!
It’s been a while since I’ve read such an amazingly written dark bully romance and, with just the first book in this trilogy, Giving In is already on top of my all time favorites list!
Omg I’m gonna need a minute to recover from this book and THAT ENDING!!!! I LOVED this, it was daaaaark! Like seriously dark. Jake is such an alphahole but you still root for him for some strange reason. And Jamie is so brave and strong after the things she’s been through. But HOLY MOLY that ending just about killed me!!! I cannot wait for the next one! What an incredible debut novel, it had me completely hooked for page one right until the end, I need to know what’s going to happen next 😭 Lola this is an amazing book, you should be so proud! 😍
Ah ah…
Jake…
Guys, I don't know if I am allowed to curse in my reviews.. But holy sheet (I typed the actual word and then edited it, lol i can't do it) guys this book blew my mind. If you all don't like dark bullying romances, you will not like this book and don't even bother to read it. The heroine in this story is Jamie aka Me Williams. She is the daughter of slang town sheriff and still living mother. We get flash backs of Ja. mie's night terrors and see what happened to her, her father and brother. Throughout her schooling she has had a crush on her friend Chris Murray. But, he doesn't like her like that and was always nice to her and friendly. But Chris's parents took guardianship of twins Jake and Rose White, beautiful, arrogant, cold to those they don't know or like. And then there is Luke, carsmatistic, known player. Anyways, Jamie has a best friend named Emily who is her right hand girl, a girl who has her hands in a lot of sports, such as cheerleading, track, etc. But not Lacross, which is Jamie's sport of interest. Ok, so the characters have been introduced, setting the scene, Jamie gets to curious or as the saying goes "Curiosity killed the cat". Which throughout this effing book ( say this with love) that these 4 friends are a dark side, but they do have their hard limits. But it seems that when Jamie is curious about finding out the truth about her family she crosses the line with this group especially Jake White. He's take personal interest in hurting Jamie and humilatin her. The student to be considered to be a goody too shoes, but is finding out what she likes. She doesn't want to admit she is attracted to Jake and likes what he does to her. But alias there is a new character introduced Nathan. Nathan is much older that Jamie, but he makes her feel comfortable, safe.
Holy can oodles guys, this book is definitely dark and twisted with 4 friends who have dark thoughts but are hold loyality sacred. There is a lot to be said about this book, but i'm afraid I'll spoil it. I don't want to do that, but I can't wait to read what happens next. Also, in the beginning of this book the author did mention there is a cliffhanger and boy did she leave us hanging. Shaking imaginary fits in the air...
And to think, I was going to pass this by. Jamie story has lots of drama, dark bullying and a seriously messed up situations with characters who are more twisted than a candy cane. But will give you the same rush for those who are fans of intense and flawed/broken characters.
This one is too good to spoil. Go in blind but beware that mighty cliff is going to floor you and you will start hoping for time to move quicker to get to the bottom of that bombshell. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
It was 3am when I finished this book after reading it in 1 sitting, and even when the Author tried to warn us about the ending, I wasn't prepared for that cliffhanger! Like OMG! I need to know NOW!...
After my short ranting It's time for my serious review, first off I have to say I love gorgeous covers and this one is one of my favorites ever!
The story was absolutely intriguing, I couldn't put the book down, it got me totally wrapped. The characters are very interesting, even though our heroine is not the strongest and our hero is not a hero, he is a real bully borderline abuser maybe?, deeply conflicted, dark, super hard to read, his vision of right and wrong is so blurry, that even made me feel uncomfortable at times, and thats not common at all, even though I had to keep reading. It was totally addictive!
I laughed and I cried, I got mad at the book, then I forgave it lol, all in a very enjoyable reading experience.
I do not recommend this book to anyone looking for a HEA, rainbows and unicorns, this book is dark!
I really liked it, the only reason why I gave it 4.5 stars is because Im (was?) Team Nathan cause Jake made me so mad! and I cant say anything else without spoiling it.
If you love real dark romances you will love this book, if you are hesitating be brave!, go in blind expecting the unexpected!
Now that is how you write a book! Wow, what an ending! This book is phenomenal! Absolutely amazing! Lola writes a character like no other. I felt like I was in the story right along with each character. Her writing is detailed, organized and entertaining!
Jamie what have you gotten yourself into?! Jamie is a quiet, smart girl who is just trying to survive. But when the popular guy, Jake notices her, all bets are off! The steaminess that came from this book flew off the pages. I didn’t want the story to end! And speaking of the ending, oh my gosh! I kept being like nooo, I need more!
There are so many great characters in this book. Jamie and Jake may be the main focus but Chris and Rose bring the fun to the story too. With these characters you feel their happiness and their struggles. The story takes you on a rollercoaster ride that is so fun. Jake has so many different sides to his personality. He is dark and a bully, yet his feelings for Jamie are beautiful and entertaining. I literally was on the edge of my seat trying to see where the story would go.
This might be Lola’s first book but it won’t be her last! Her writing is original, entertaining and pulls you in. You feel like you can’t read fast enough, as you want to know what will happen next! Yet, you want to soak up all her awesomeness! This is an awesome must read amazing book!
Firstly, how is this even @lolakingahthor debut?! This novel reads perfectly, the flow, the tempo, the language, the style, the plot, character development - Flawless!
Secondly, I had to actively avoid the street team HQ because I was so consumed by this novel that I couldn't even bare the thought of peeping a spoiler, because I had literally no idea where the story would lead. Oh BTW, that ending was CRIMINAL, LOLA! The wait for book two is going to be painful!
Thirdly, this was *does my little excited shoulder shimmy* deliciously dark!! I mean good grief, I love a dark bully romance, and I got a dark bully romance!
Jamie is the epitome of scarred but not broken, this girl has been through the ringer but damn is she a fighter. We stan a strong female and she was a total warrior!
HOT DAMN! Jake and Nathan are very complex, very hot, and VERY different.
Jake is your all encompassing alpha a-hole, he's dark as hell, borderline scary, so intriguing, controlling and exactly what we want when we read a dark bully romance.
Nathan is equally intriguing and I kept thinking is this guy too good to be true, because quite frankly he is perfection! Sexy as sin, swoon worthy and adoring! 🤤
Lola, girl you've made your entrance and captured us all, consider us eating out the palm of your hand as we wait for more from the Stoneview series!
Starting this book came at a perfect time. Literally hours before starting the book I told a friend I needed suggestions for books with iffy consent. Well Giving In gave me exactly what I wanted and more.
I'll just start by saying I haven't finished a book in under 24 hours in a while. I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!
It took me just reading the Prologue to know it didn't matter who this Nathan character was Jake was it for me. He's dark, damaged, dominant (hmm, must have a thing for guys with D traits), but you can tell in the glimpses of restraint there is so much more to him. He's literally the creation of his upbringing, there's no doubt about it. And those short peeks into his heart is exactly what a girl needs.
The plot is intriguing enough to love the book for more than just the cat and mouse game and the fire between Jamie and Jake. The other characters make you want to know more—umm, hello Rose.
I love the constant struggle Jamie deals with about her feelings towards Jake. Questioning why his harsh ways turn her on more than the nurturing support from Nathan. Don't worry girl, I totally get that one! I wish I could say I didn't see the end coming. There were enough clues throughout the book for me to put two and two together. It was just a matter of time for the big reveal. It didn't make me enjoy it any less and I am still desperate to get my hands on book two ASAP!
Jamie is curious by nature. A fact that has gotten her in trouble more than once. Living in a town among the wealthy and famous, being a daughter of the former town Sheriff, Jamie is anything but. She feels an attraction to Jake, like every other girl in school. Though her common sense tells her, her friend Chris is the better choice. Her head got the memo, but her heart didn’t. Jamie, more or less, accidentally heard information she shouldn’t have and as more time passes she realizes too late, that she’s in too deep.
Jamie’s hasn’t been on Jakes radar at all, but now that she is, he doesn’t plan on letting her off it. He has a Jekyll/Mr. Hyde like personality, one of which seems reserved only for Jamie. Nothing is as it seems to be and things are constantly turned upside down. Ugly truths come out and people throw off their masks and show their true self!
I find it so hard to believe that this is Lola Kings debut. I asked her about it, she confirmed but honestly, I still can’t believe it. The twist and turns constantly surprised me. The second you think it’s going in one direction, the story flips 180 and goes a different direction. The story does end in a cliffhanger and trust me, you WANT to know what happens next!
I am speechless over the fact that this is Lola King’s debut novel. I am a sucker for a good bully romance, but this exceeds being just good - it’s fantastic! Giving In is one of the best bully romances I have read in awhile. I was pulled in wanting to know more about Jamie, the girl that no one saw. She has a heartbreaking past and has the scars to prove it, but she isn’t weak - this girl is smart and a survivor. Jake, the boy that has a golden appearance but is truly dark underneath - this young man has so many secrets and I want to know them all. Nathan is the tender heart that I question constantly - what is this young man hiding?! Don’t even get me started on Luke, Rose and Chris. Lola has woven such an intricate plot that I am left begging (with no shame) for the next book since this one does end in one helluva cliffhanger. I loved it - the mystery, the secrets I am dying to know, the suspense, the tension...Lola executed it all perfectly and I am truly roped in and ready for more.
Oh. My. Gosh. Talk about a book to get you hooked! Giving In is the first of a 3 book high school bully romance trilogy set at Stoneview Prep. Dark/bully romance isn't my go-to genre to be honest, but sometimes I find a book in that genre that just pulls me in. This is definitely one of those!
Jamie is a confused, fickle creature who can't quite get her mind and body on the same page. She has very different feelings for two very different guys, and is constantly at war with herself over it.
Jake is a very disturbing, very controlling arsehole. The bad boy you love to hate. He is so dark, he would probably blend right in with the shadows! He is also constantly at war with himself.. lose control.. don't lose control.. decisions, decisions.
Nathan. Oh Nathan! I swoon a bit for him every time we get to see him! 😍
This book sucked me strait in and I just couldn't put it down! That cliffhanger tho..! I may, or may not, have send a message to the author to express my feelings overall. 🙈😂.
There's nothing more I can say other than I would very much like book 2 now please!!
I have started and restarted this review because I am having a hard time putting how much I loved this book into words. I cannot believe this is a debut book.
I love the high school, bully romance, enemies to lovers tropes. This story follows Jamie, or 'Me, the scholarship student who stays out of trouble and Jake, the resident bad boy of the school.
Jamie discovers a secret and Jake sets his sights on her. While Jamie may be innocent, she has some fight and fire to her when it comes to Jake trying to rule her.
There is suspense, drama, and angst throughout the book. Jamie and Jake are so magnetic, that it is impossible for them to stay apart. I cannot wait to see where their relationship leads.
Now onto the cliffhanger, like, what?!?! I knew something was coming, and I was trying to connect dots along the way to see if I could figure out what would happen at the end and I was blindsided. My heart was beating out of my chest at the end. I need book 2 asap 🤣🤣
Okay I can't tell you how long I have been waiting to scream about this book. Lola approached me to beta read this and after we discussed me having zero triggers I dived right in.
Ahhhhh I just loved it so much. This is the epitome of dark bully romance.
This story is set in a small and wealthy town filled with dark and twisted characters. We have the perfect enemies to lovers cocktail here with Jamie who lands herself on bad boy Jakes radar. She discovers a secret of his and he is willing to do anything and I mean anything to keep her quiet.
Jake is a psychotic alpha douche in all honestly and he refuses to leave Jamie alone. Jamie is trying to dig up what happened to her brother but she can't help but be sidetracked by Jake and his secrets.
There isn't really much more I can say without giving any spoilers and you really need to go in blind.
The cliffy will have you screaming and I honestly cannot wait to get my hands on the next one. I need answers!!
I didn't know what to expect when I signed up for Lola's ARC of her debut novel and let me tell you, Lola is going to be a great and successful indie author. How the fuck is this her debut?
The story is so well written and put together. I just can't wrap my head around this being her first ever book!
I absolutely love Jake. Sure, he's evil, but there's a lost and broken little boy underneath it all and I just want to reach in and hold him. Jamie is such a great character, she's strong, independent and just a fabulous heroine. Nathan... well, he's just dreamy! Each and every character is so well thought through and each one has a purpose to the plot.
And that twist at the end... Did not see that coming at all! Lola, you have outdone yourself. Simply incredible.
Okay dude... this book.... IT. IS. SO. FREAKIN’. GOOD!!!!
Like you need to read it. I read a LOT. As in I’ve read 120 books THIS year but it’s been a bit since I’ve read one that I couldn’t seem to put down. I even read through a migraine. I’ve been reading multiple books at once lately but couldn’t possibly focus on another until I was finished with this one.
I don’t know how to explain why I loved it so much. What made it so hard to put down. The characters and the plot just sucked me the heck in.
Favorite characters: Jaime, Jake, Nathan & Rose.
It’s a slow burn and there’s so much sexual tension. And you def can’t help but fall for the “villain”.
Amazing character development. Everything flows so nicely too.
It ends on a big cliff hanger and I’m so bitter about it.
Giving In. I was blown away by this book. I can't get over this being Kings first book - so talented and can't wait to read more. This book had me hooked from the beginning. I loved the characters (team Jake). Jake is the epitome of an alphahole but god did i love him. Jamie was such a great female lead, getting herself into trouble with her inquisitive ways. This book is a dark bully romance set with so much steam i needed a cold flannel in some spots. The cliffhanger made my jaw drop and i nearly ended up with a broken kindle, yep I'm needing book 2 NOW!!!
Overall Opinion : Jake and Jamie are here. I will admit that I picked this one up as a last resort because I knew it had cheating and that is not a trope I like reading that much. I was very intrigued about how all the characters came to meet each other and was especially curious about Nathan.
I completely read this one for Nathan because the main leads seemed pretty immature to me. The h was a horribly dumb lol and got played left and right and then she also deliberately cheated on the H with his brother. Somewhere in between all of this , Jake also cheated a lot on Jamie and then had the very balls to have trust issues. I detest that type of idiots who can’t take what they have been giving right from the start and I immediately lost interest in these two as a couple from that moment.
Nathan however was the highlight of this series for me. I believe he is at his most unhinged in this series and I loved highlighting his scenes because he made the best appearances! If you are a fan of the toxic couple trope with cheating, then feel free to go for this trilogy but don’t have any hopes for Grovel , redemption or even basic character development lol.
