USA Today and Amazon best-selling author, Tess Summers is a former business woman and teacher who always loved writing but never seemed to have time to sit down and write a short story, let alone a novel. Now battling MS, her life changed dramatically, and she has finally slowed down enough to start writing all the stories she'd been wanting to tell, including the fun and sexy ones! Married over twenty-five years with three grown children, Tess is a former dog foster mom who ended up failing and adopting them instead. She and her husband (and their six dogs) split their time between the desert of Arizona and the lakes of Michigan, so she's always in a climate that's not too hot and not too cold, but just right!

This is the first time I have read a book written by this author & I was really impressed at how well this intriguing mafia romance was written. The plot is interesting & has some intense situations that are well-described. It was interesting to see how the relationship developed between the two main characters (a rather shy but quite strong-willed young woman, Sophia) & (a hot alpha male, Ramon Guzman). The secondary characters play significant roles & offered good support throughout the storyline.
It is about: a young woman (Sophia Castle) trying to cope with her boyfriend’s (Kevin) betrayal with another woman decides to go on vacation to Ensenada where she comes into contact with a powerful man (Ramon) with some devious plans in store for her naturally Sophia has a few surprises in store for him including a stray dog (Daisy)
There is: a mafia cartel (Guzman), crime syndicates, CIA, friendship, comradery, humour, twists & turns, intrigue, secrets, deceit, betrayal, danger, threats, abduction, suspicions, strange attractions, disagreements, memories, betrayal, misunderstandings, manipulations, anger, frustration, determination, verbal conflict, complications, unpleasant surprises, vengeful feelings, compromises, some steam scenes, love, contentment & a well-earned delightful epilogue. I look forward to future books from this author & would recommend this mafia romance

Fiery!
I love a good “alpha falls in love with a sweet innocent” romance! This pushed all my pleasure buttons! Fiery hot, suspenseful, and romantic! Ramon Guzman has met his match with the naïve Sophia Castle!

A bit too innocent for my liking

Would’ve enjoyed better sex scenes and a bit more danger since this is a mafia type story. Did however love that you didn’t make him kidnap her like most mafia romances out there. I also like that she is strong.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! By the time you’ve figured out who is who and who to like and dislike, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
Can’t say I didn’t warn you.
(Believe me when I say you won’t put it down until the last page is read…you will find yourself getting upset cause someone called, texted or bothered you while reading this one, you will find yourself up at ungodly hours just to finish it knowing you have to be at work early (like 3am early) the very next day) YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
This is the 4th book in the Agents of Ensenada since then I have bought the other books in this series so again heed the warning because you won’t put it down until the last page is turned. Sophia is strong, feisty, sweet, kind, shy, a little nerdish and broken up over her ex. cheating on her so she heads to Mexico on a spar of the moment trip to Ensenada on an invite from friends. Ramon a sexy as all get out, dangerous, doesn’t play fair and usually will do anything/everything to get what he wants right now that is Sophia. The two are introduced to each other at this party the chemistry is instant between the two however, she is there trying to take her mind off her breakup with her ex and him well he just wants her. Ramon is used to women throwing themselves at but his Sophia no so she pretty much ignore him which thus makes his interest in her more intense. His first thought are they (CIA) sent in a beautiful distraction to trap him since he is one of the most powerful men in Ensenada but after his investigation of her proves she said is truthful and the chase is on and he always get what he wants. Sophia has trust issues of course especially after going through what she is going through bring thus putting herself on his radar so when he approaches, she turns him down flat and this really interest him… he must have her. So, Ramon puts into motion a plan where she is tricked into marring him oh and she is none to happy about it and she may be a nerd, but she gives as good as she gets but where will it all lead? Will she hate him when it is all done and said or will the two of them find happiness despite how they came together?

Good Story but lagged some in places. Great characters. Ending a bit rushed!

This was a pretty good story although it had some ups and downs. For the most part, it was a captivating love story and held your interest, but there were a few places were it dragged a little. Fortunately those were far and few between. If I have any real complaints, it's that after all the build-up...the ending seemed a little rushed. Would have liked more.

Loved the characters...not just the H and h, but a few of the secondary characters as well, some of whom have or will have their own story. I particularly liked Francisco and Juan Diego, the very flamboyant, wealthy and popular gay couple! They were hilarious...especially Juan Diego! It is at their annual summer bash of the year where the h and H meet.

She initially doesn't know he runs a drug cartel. She believes he is just an extremely wealthy businessman. He does have some legitimate businesses, but 50% of his income is from his drug cartel. The story revolves around him trying to keep his cartel involvement from her and her trying to come to terms with it when she finally learns the truth...though she admits maybe she just didn't want to know the truth in the beginning, even when the signs were there.

Take your Cartel love story, add in a dirty CIA agent along with a female agent causing trouble in the bidding love affair, posing as the H's wife (without his knowledge or consent) to gain access to and trust of a Columbian cartel member, a rival Mexican cartel trying to encroach on the H's territory and kidnappings and you've got the works for a lot of intrigue and a few roadblocks to the HEA.

If you like the concept of knights in tarnished armor (bad boys who love hard and will do anything to prove to the ones they love), and strong outspoken women who are just a little vulnerable, this is for you.

What happens when his secrets come to light?

Flashpoint is the fourth book in the Agents of Ensenada series, but reads well as a stand alone. Sophia and Ramon meet at a party in Ensenada, and while he thinks she might be the latest CIA agent trying to trip him up, he’s completely captivated by her. Sophia is just escaping a bad breakup and is enthralled by Ramon, but when she’s tricked into a marriage, she can’t decide if it’s a good decision for her future. As their relationship grows and strengthens, what happens when his secrets come to light, and how can he keep her safe from all his enemies?

This book was a long read, but totally worth it! Sophia and Ramon were romantic and steamy and while neither were perfect, both felt real. While reading this book, I often felt like I was right there with the characters. Sophia is a bit of a nerd, a little insecure (especially after her breakup), but I loved that she stood up for herself. Her pride often got in her way, but I liked that she fought for what she thought was her best choice. Ramon is cocky and suave and very charming. I loved that he never apologized for who he was or what his power and position demanded. I was surprised at all of his secrets that he kept from Sophia, but I have to admit, I feel like they made an excellent couple. He helped bring her out of her shell while she helped keep him grounded and safe. They definitely had chemistry and passion between them, too. I thought at times this book moved a little slow, but I do like how in depth we got with the characters, I liked all of the action and drama and danger, and I liked that love wasn’t always quite enough. I enjoyed reading this book. There’s a lot that happens, a lot of side characters, and a lot of love that develops within these pages!

This is a 5+ stars book that keeps you entertained from page 1 to the last. Sophia is in Ensenada to get over her heartbreak after discovering her boyfriend cheating on her with a co-worker. After arriving at her destination, she meets Juan Diego and Francisco at the pool bar and they take her under their wing. Two flamboyant gay men that love her dearly. They insist she attend a party they are throwing and will introduce her to some handsome rich men. When Roman Guzman, the head of the Guzman cartel, sees Sophia enter the party, he can’t take his eyes off her. He always gets what he wants. When Juan Diego finally introduced Sophia to the Roman she is speechless. He asked her to dance and she says yes, but when he asks her to leave with him, she turns him down. No woman has ever turned him down. A very well written storyline with humor, fake marriage, suspense, danger, kidnapping, hot chemistry and a deep passion and love that develops between the two. Highly recommend this book, I loved it!

All she wanted was to nurse her broken heart....what she got was a whole lot more

Flashpoint is the fourth book in the Agents of Ensenada series and is the story of Sophia Castle and Ramon Guzman. This was an interesting story that is a bit different from a lot of Mafia/Cartel books. I also enjoyed Sophia as a character as she is sweet and somewhat naive but at the same time has some time she has strength and is able to stand up for what she wants. Ramon is the a wealthy businessman who is also the head of a drug cartel. He tries to hide his darker business from the beautiful Sophia as he is taken with her as soon as he sees her at a party in Ensenada. Sophia is not sure what the handsome, older, sophisticated, successful and sexy Ramon would want with her but she is not going to turn him away completely as he is good for her broken heart, caused by a cheating ex. So what happens when Sophia finds out the truth about Ramon and that she has not only been lied to but also "tricked"?

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

This is the 4th book in the Agents of Ensenada. This brings us Ramon Guzman and Sophia Castle. Sophia is on vacation to help ease a broken heart after she caught her ex with someone else. When she arrives in Ensenada, she meets Juan Diego and Francisco, and they become her "protectors and friends." They host a party where she meets Ramon who intrigues her with his good looks, but she doesn't know why he could see anything in her at all as she describes herself as a nerd. Ramon is a very powerful man in Ensenada. Ramon however, thinks she might be CIA, but can't stay away from her. When he has her investigated, he finds that she is what she says she is. Ramon gets whatever he wants, and that is Sophia. She is "tricked" into a marriage, very cleverly. Sophia was not by any means a push over and Ramon has his hands full with her. There are some twists and turns, but Ramon's love never dies. This was a great read and I highly recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

Loved these characters
Ramon Guzman HEADS THE Guzman Cartel. He’s all work and no relationships, fearful that a mate or having a family could be taken from him… UNTIL … Sophia Castle steps into his view. She is nothing like his usual dates. Sophia is a tech nerd from San Francisco, on a break from the drama of catching her cheating ex… cheating.
Her new friends, Juan Diego & Francisco Flores, “gay, fabulous & rich,” are partiers and sweet gossips in the mix of everything. I loved them! And they introduced her to Ramon.
Sophia is oblivious to who Ramon is and what he “really” does. They build a wonderful friendship and connection, but like most love stories, there is turmoil. Sophia doesn’t always take “orders” from Ramon; she just doesn’t know what trouble goes on around her. I loved this story and its Characters and the very happy ending. The entire AGENTS OF ENSENADA series is riveting, and I highly recommend it. Linda

They say the love of a good woman can really change a man! Well it may not change everything but it can certainly change and challenge him a lot!
This is the story of Ramon and Sophia. Let’s just say when hyper masculine meets super sweet innocence anything and everything does happen.
From the moment I started this book it hit all the marks for me. The steam level was amped way up but it was also because of the deep feelings that you could actually feel coming through this book.
Within this story we get to see many different sides and aspects of what we perceive as bad and what we normally think of as the good guys.
I enjoyed the secondary characters and glimpses into their lives as much as the main story.
I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I truly enjoyed it!

This is the 4th book in this amazing series and is Ramon and Sophia’s story. Sophia is sweet, shy, and strong willed, and when she takes a vacation after a breakup, she meets the sexy and powerful Ramon. Ramon is the head of the Guzman cartel and he is suspicious about who Sophia is, and after an investigation that she is who she said he manipulated the situation to get her to may him. The chemistry between these two is intense and undeniable, and she is no walkover, Ramon has his hands full with her as she gives as good as she gets. This is a well written story which has twists, danger, suspense, betrayal, witty banter, and is a steamy and entertaining page turner. I was totally enthralled throughout this tale and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Flashpoint by Tess Summers was a tempting, immersive story of Ramon and Sophia. Sophia is there to get over a broken relationship. The couple she meets become fast friends and invite her to a party….there, she meets Ramon. The chemistry is fast and furious and he decides to force events to work in his favor….regardless of the outcome…he wants her with him.

LOVED THIS STORY!!! It was full of tension, slow-building romance, danger, intrigue, deception, decadence…and full-on LOVE!! This is the first story I’ve read from this author…and I can guarantee, I see more in my future!!!! Excellent read!!!!

Flashpoint: Agents of Ensenada book 4 by Tess Summers is a 5 ⭐️ read.
Ramon Guzman is the head of the Guzman cartel, he’s back home in Ensenada for a short time and while attending a party he meets Sophia and he wants her more than anyone he’s ever met, but he needs to make sure she is who she says she is before he does whatever it takes to make her his.
Sophia found her boyfriend of 3 years cheating on her so she decided to take an impromptu vacation, she headed to Mexico and got an invite to a party where she met Ramon, when he kissed her she felt something she’s never felt before, but she doesn’t know who he really is.
This is book 4 in the series and I feel it’s a standalone, I loved this book and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I would highly recommend this book.

I really liked this Mafia lite romance story. It was entertaining and enjoyable with just enough drama and angst through the twists and turns to keep you invested. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Sophia was taking some time for herself after she discovered her boyfriend's betrayal when she met Ramon. Ramon was older, wiser, and had some serious business that Sophia was unaware of and Ramon wanted to keep it that way. They are drawn to each other instantly and the attraction is strong. I liked the way the story ended. I recommend reading this book.

Yes!

So much to say, and truthfully I don't care to type millions of superlatives!
Ms. Summers, yet again, boom, great book! Ramon truly needed humanizing, and who better than and accidental meet with someone who has absolutely nothing to do with cartels! Sophia is perfect for Ramon! She's real, doesn't care about money, prestige, etc, etc, she cares about being loved and loving Ramon...
But, from there is gets interesting, so read the book!

Ms. Summers,
NEXT ... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The more alpha the male, the harder they seem to fall when they meet the woman that is meant for them. Ramon is no exception to the rule. From the moment he first met Sophia, the attraction between them was undeniable. He has a playful nature that comes out in his dealings with Sophia and he is not willing to let her go. But how will his actions go over with Sophia? There were many interesting characters in the story but I loved Francisco and Juan Diego. The story has hot chemistry, wit, suspense, secret deals, and no much more.

This is the story of Ramon, who is the head of the Guzman cartel. From the moment he saw Sophia Castle, she grabbed his interest but was wary of her motives. Manipulating a situation for his own means, Sophia and Ramon spend time getting to know each other but will Sophia accept Ramon for all that he is? So much drama, suspense, betrayals, fabulous banter and hot attraction! Long awaited for and it does not disappoint!

What a great mafia romance and it won't take you long to fall in love with Ramon and Sophia. The book also has some great side characters. Ramon's about as alpha as you can get. He's mafia but he's trying to move his businesses into the light and make them legitimate. The chemistry between the two was immediate when they met at a party. An unlikely couple as she a little geeky and he's all alpha mafia. They're both great characters and this was a fun book to read. This was an exciting book full of twists and turns, drama and a lot of attraction. Ramon is the head of the Guzman cartel and even though he is very attracted to Sophia Castle he doesn’t quite trust her. After he has her investigated he realises he has to marry her. This book is really well written, like all Tess Summers books. It sucks you in and keeps you interested all the way through.

Super hot, steamy romantic story with suspense. You also have the cartel, humour, twists and turns, secrets, deceit, danger, threats, and steamy scenes. Ramon Guzman is someone who always gets what he wants and he wants Sophia. She has no idea why because she's the biggest nerd there is but she is no pushover. He tricks Sophia into getting married but finds that she has some tricks up her sleeves. First story I've read from this author and I plan on checking out her other books. There were some twists and turns, pain, desire, pleasure, lust and plenty more.

I enjoyed this story

I so enjoyed the humor parts in the story. The banter was a lot of fun. Her married male friends and their comments were so good. saving the dog was such a nice addition. I would have liked to have had her kick the agent in his dick or at least slap him because she really deserved to get back just a little. This story was probably my favorite in the series at this point. Other than he didn't tell her about the cartel and she kept pretending she wanted to leave so he would ask her to stay.

Ramon and Sophia have the most intense chemistry with his flashpoint being zero when it comes to her. Sophia describes herself as a nerd and her longtime boyfriend cheated on her. She goes to Mexico to get over him and encounters Ramon. Ramon doesn’t give her his full background and creates problems. Very good Mafia romance with strong memorable characters.

I typically don't cheer for the supposed bad guy but I really like Ramon. He is trying hard to move his cartel into a legitimate business. I really felt for Sophia when lies made her insecurities come pouring back in. I'm sure not everyone would cry with Sophia but I did. I loved seeing Ramon grovel a bit and I was definitely cheering for their happy ever after. I was also intrigued by some of the side characters and will absolutely be checking out more of Ms Summers stories.

This was the first book I’ve read from this author and I really enjoyed it! It had drama, suspense, romance and all the good things! My only cons were that there was maybe a little too much angst, not bad it just seemed a little drawn out. And the ending and epilogue were too short, I needed more! Other than that I thought it was great
