Exes should remain exes for a reason, right? But when I see Xavier with another girl, I can't help feeling like I made a mistake. Why can't I get my ex-boyfriend out of my mind? And those looks he keeps giving me...I wonder if he feels it too. Maybe it's time we both stopped lying to ourselves and faced the truth. A lot can change in a week.

This was a lovely second chance short story!!! To say that I wasn't curious about Imogen and Xavier's story, I would be blatantly lie to you!!! And finally we took a glimpse into this couple's story and we learned more or them....
Imogen and Xavier were a couple for a long time until they decided that they had to live separately, but the heart wants what she wants and even though the mind is leading you in another way, your heart's strings are demanding to lead you wherever she wants... And that wasn't an exception on this couple's story!!!
I really liked Imogen and Xavier, even though I wanted to slap some sense to both of them, especially on Immy... Girl, what is wrong with you, ugh??? LOL!!! This was a really nice short story, but I wish I got more of them!!! Still I enjoyed it and I was happy that i saw favorite people from Alcove high for once again!!!
P.S. This story is a part of the "Hot Summer School Nights" anthology!!!
Becca Steele is taking us back to Alstone High in this short story and it's one of my favorite places to be!
The push and pull began these two characters was equally sweet and incredibly frustrating. The feelings and emotions Becca had pouring off the pages had me feeling like I was right back in high school!
I loved seeing my other favorite Alstone characters while Xavier and Imogen tried to figure out what they really wanted.
Second chance romances are my absolute favorite so I really enjoyed reading In a Week, which is a short story that’s part of the Hot Summer School Nights anthology!
I’ve been missing the characters from Alstone High and I’m happy that Becca Steele wrote this short story. It was sweet and also had moments that made me feel for the characters. Although it was short, I liked getting to know a bit more about Imogen and Xavier. Both characters whose feelings are so strong that they always find a way back to each other.
One of the things I like about second chance romances is the reason why both characters decided to break it off in the beginning or how they reunite and form a stronger love, and the author did really well in capturing those moments. Above all, Imogen and Xavier have their stubborn moments but the chemistry they have is everything. It was also nice to have the side characters as well and it brought so much nostalgia.
Becca Steele takes us back to Alstone High with this short sweet little novella! The push and pull between Imogen and Xavier is sweet as it is frustrating the chemistry between these two is intense I absolutely love these characters! I loved the emotions Becca had pouring off the pages the drama had me feeling like I was back in high school I couldn’t get enough of this couple ! Another definite must read from this author!
Becca Steele takes up back to the world of Alstone High with this short and sweet tale of Xavier and Imogen. They both decided a year ago that they needed to break up, a year later they are both still longing for each other and it's only a matter of time before they give in and admit to their feelings.
Loved everything about this short story, I only wish it was longer!
This short story is a second chance romance and it was super sweet and left the reader wanting more of this couple who can't keep their hands off each other despite their decisions. They have a connection that works and their short time apart definitely cemented their romantic relationship.
A nice little addition to the Alstone books and to see a few familiar names in Xavier & Imogens story.
In a Week is a second chance romance that takes us back to Alstone High with Imogen and Xavier. Imogen & Xavier thought they were doing the right thing by breaking up since everyone thought they were too young to settle down, but denying each other proved harder than they thought. Their chemistry is undeniable, but these two are stubborn. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to throw my phone because of how frustrating these two can be, but Becca left me wanting more. I recommend this for sure!!!
In A Week by Becca Steele, is a short story that release today as part of the Hot Summer School Nights anthology.
We are back in Alstone High with Imogen and Xavier and I’m so happy because I’ve wanted their story ever since I’ve read their back and forth in Trick Me Twice.
There were times where I just wanted to smack them both upside the head and be like just kiss already but their sexual tension was just off the charts and I was here for it!
If you loved the Alstone High Characters in Trick Me Twice and Cross The Line then you NEED to pick up this anthology!
In A Week by Becca Steele is a short second chance high school romance. The book is set in the Alstone High world and can be read as a standalone. This book is part of the Hot Summer School Nights Anthology.
I love Becca's books! She does a great job pulling me into the story and making me feel what the characters are feeling. I was so excited to finally get Xavier and Imogen's story.
If you loved this story, I would highly recommend reading Trick Me Twice and Cross The Line since the stories are interconnected.
I would recommend this book if you're looking for a short second chance romance.
This is a short story that will feature in the Hot Summer School Nights anthology, It is a second chance standalone high school romance.
I have read all of the Alstone high books so it was nice to go back and read about Xavier and Imogen. The chemistry between the two was obvious so it was hard to see them both not recognise this and not being able to make their minds up about what they want. Overall this s a sweet short story that left you wanting more of this couple.
In a week by Becca Steele was such a fun and hot second chance romance.
This book is set in the Alstone High world and most certainly can be read as a stand-alone. Although I do suggest you reading the previous books because you’ll love them just as much as I did.
Becca does such an phenomenal job at full length novels but I’ve been loving all her short stories that she’s been throwing at us. This book pulled me in like no other and I loved the connection and the chemistry that these two shared.
I loved seeing all the other characters and loved watching these characters navigate their real feelings and come to terms with what they really want.
Hands down a great short story and if your new to this author, an even better introduction.
In a Week by Becca Steele- I’ve caught bits and pieces of Imogen and Xavier in the other Alstone High books but I loved reading their novella. So much push and pull. Their chemistry is off the charts.
Juvenile MF plot line and overly dramatic teenage characters. The narrative was the same badly written scene, with minor changes, over and over. Thought this might be a cute quick read. I’m definitely not the audience for it. In the immortal words of Murtaugh in ‘Lethal Weapon’, “I’m too old for this s**t.”
“You’re a fucking liar, baby. Don’t tell me you don’t feel anything when you kiss me like that.”
I didn’t really like this book. They both made a mutual decision and then were so stubborn they wouldn’t admit they made a mistake. Then he decides it’s her fault because of it.
Becca Steele is a force of nature. She sweeps you up into these glorious and magical worlds and makes you feel as you are one of them. In this short story, she takes us back to Alstone High (I loved this group). In a Week is about Imogen and Xavier at Alstone High. It is a second chance short story that revolves around their romance. There was a mass amount of sexual tension between these two, yet they make me want to smack them upside the head with their inability to see it. In any case, I recommend this story if you love second chance romance.
This anthology is all about enemies to lovers and bullies romances, which is my top favorite to read. This included the very talented authors:
L A Cotton Siobhan Davis Ashley Jade Piper Lawson Tracy Lorraine Michelle Mankin Daniela Romero Ginger Scott Ivy Smoak Becca Steele Shantel Tessier
You just need to get this one, you will be helping The Smith Family, a children's charity and you get to read the top authors of this trope.
This story is from Alston High, the short novella about Imogen and Xavier's story, with lots of school drama and intensity. There are a lot of chemistry, frustration, and emotions. This is a great way for you to discover Becca Steele and if you already know her is a must-read.
I was excited to return to Alstone High where we get the story of the final King of Alstone, Xavier and his girl Imogen. Xavier and Imogen were a couple to be reckoned with but everyone told them that they were too young and needed to experience other things so they thought it would be the right thing to do. Once they return to school and are around each other all the time, their pull may prove to be too much. I got so frustrated with Xavier and Imogen how they could not see how much they were meant to be with each other and attempted to fill their voids. I was glad that the other Kings were in the book and now all of our Kings have their HEA's. My biggest complaint is that I wanted more. Possible spoiler content: This is Xavier and Imogens story and its my least favourite of the series. Xavier wasn't how I'd expected him to be after reading Trick Me Twice. I'd got the impression that he was pining after Imogen and chasing her in TMT, he isn't like that in this book, if anything he's constantly pushing her away. Every time Imogen tried to talk to him he pushes her away by saying things like: this is what we agreed, this is what we both want, a fresh start, then flirts with other girls in front of her to make her jealous. Xaviers reasoning behind this is because he wants her to admit that she wants him, she wants to tell him but is scared of being rejected by him as he's moved on with these other girls. I actually felt bad for Imogen and didn't really like Xavier in this book.
I'm not sure where the time line sits in comparison to the other stories. I thought that Xavier and Imogen were together by the end of TMT but I get the impression that this book runs after that, I could be wrong though. I feel like the cover is missing the LED light mask for this book, its on the previous two books but not this one.
My rating: 3/5 Hero: 2/5 Heroine: 3/5 POV: dual Angst level: 1/5 Steam level: 1/5 Genre: second chance romance, high school Trigger/Taboo: /
This is Imogen & Xavier’s story. After dating on & off for a couple years they decide to break up to be young & free. Their family & friends think they’re too young to settle down. While single they both realise they made a mistake but they’re too stubborn to confess this to each other. They tried avoiding each other but with their mutual friends this is way harder than they thought.
My opinion: It’s a short story but it didn’t add up to me tbh. They’ve been together for quite some time so they really know each other but after they break up they’re too scared to confess their feelings towards each other? Xavier’s doing his best to make Imogen jealous, which works but I just found it a little childish.
This was a very short story about Xavier and Imogen and I really wanted to know more about them. They were a couple since they were 15 but everyone around them told them they were too young to settle down so they decided to split up. A year later they’re on their last year of high school and they have the same circle of friends so they’re constantly seeing each other but without admitting that they still love each other.
Xavier tried to make Imogen jealous to admit her feelings for him, but she always thought he was over her so she never showed him how she really felt. They wanted each other and all of their friends knew but them so they went back and forth with their feelings until they finally admitted their love was still there.
It was an easy read and while it took them some time to acknowledge their love at the end everything worked out for them.
I LOVE second chance romances. Those romances that don't work out the first time but the love is still there and the second time its stronger than ever and happily ever after ensues. F Love them. I've not read the other stories in Alstone High yet so I did not previously know these characters. However, it was such a sweet short story. I love short stories and I hate them. I love the ease and quick read of it all but I'm always left wanting more after its done. Feeling like there could have been more time spent on this or that. Xavier was such a cool character. I really can't wait to read the other stories now. Imogen was such a fun h and their chemistry was amazing. Becca Steele brings it every time and I loved it.
Immy & Xave are typical high schoolers who’ve fallen in love but allow the people around them to decide their relationship. The felt pressured to break up in order to experience life by dating others. But they’ve never gotten over each other. So like typical teens, they play jealous games with each other and convince themselves that the other is happy & has moved on. At times, they allow their chemistry to overpower them with heated moments. It takes more influence from their friends to give in to their love.
Are they immature? Yes, absolutely. Is it realistic? Totally. Relatable? Yep. Frustrating? Again, yep. But enjoyable.
I enjoy Becca Steele’s writing, her voice, her storylines, pacing, and the heat of the push&pull.
In a Week is another Alstone High novella read as part of the Hot Summer School Nights Anthology.
The last of the Alstone Kings, Carter, Kian and Xavier, In a Week focuses on the story of Imogen and Xavier. Throughout the rest of the books there were hints dropped about what might have happened for these two, so I was very happy to finally get more of their story.
A sweet second chance, it reminded me how important communication is. I wanted to shake these characters. Becca writes them so well, but they just were not my favorite characters in the Alstone collection. Still, I found the story engaging and entertaining. It had multiple POV, and a sweet end. Another great story!
Xavier & Lang's short story as part of a anthology coming soon and boy Becca does not dissapoint! In a week has conpletely broke and put my heart back together.
Powerful, emotionally charged and full of lust & angst *𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬* my heart in 8 chapter's just reeled me in and left me dying for more. I absolutely adore the passioniate chemistry that laces the paged within.
"𝐀 𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤."
I love the dynamic pull they have yet they are both in denial. That ending left my heart racing and feeling my heart complete!
