I absolutely adored this book. Deja and August are two people that are unlikely to get together, but form a beautiful union when they do.
Deja who is devastated due to four failed relationships in one year just wants to take a break from men. The last one hurt her so badly and it involved her losing a close friend as well who betrayed her. So she decides to go out with her friends and get piss drunk, which resulted her to dance on a car. That car happened to be August’s car.
August is immediately intrigued by Deja but is jaded when it comes to women. He goes through them like they are his underwear. His company means the world to him, but some bad decisions cost his employees to be laid off. Due to this they lost their homes, jobs and much more. Desperate to close a merger with another company to fix his mistake, he is in a hurry to get to a meeting but Deja captured his attention. When his driver accidentally hits Deja with his car he takes her home. He has to attend a meeting in his house to discuss the merger but somehow Deja ends up crashing his meeting.
After Deja accidentally crashes August’s meeting, the two find themselves in an unlikely fake relationship. Their fake arrangement is the key to the merger happening. As the relationship progresses it turns into a engagement, but feelings develop on both sides. Something that started off as an arrangement turned out to something that neither bargained for... love. But the question is will they get an happily ever after or will people from their past ruin it all?

Loved it
August is an alpha male that appeared to be quite cold in the very beginning. After meeting Deja, August started showing signs of life. August was caring, considerate, honest and vulnerable and literally made me fall in love with him. August hid his caring and considerate side from everyone, but was unable to hide it from Deja. Deja shook up August's life for the better and vice versa. Deja was a smart, charismatic woman who was dealt a bad hand in her search for love. Deja was dealing with grief and trauma when she met August but was willing to explore what was between them. August and Deja's chemistry jumped off the pages and had me hooked from beginning to end. They both decided to trust each other regardless of their past and experience each other's first and forever. I absolutely loved Deja and August and the family and friends. This book was funny, emotional and full of sexiness that I have to commend Jasmine Garner on such a good job in writing. This book will definitely be in my reread carousel.
