girl and boy likes each other.
guy approached girl when they were 16.
girl and boy were having a moment when the girl’s father who’s been beating her and threatened boy’s existence if she ever dare hang out w/ him again came outta the house and sees them.
girl called boy the handyman (by them having a moment i meant almost making out).
guy got offended (girl’s rich guy’s not), thinking its bcs the girl considered herself as above him.
boy hated girl but boy’s also obsessed & in love w/ girl at the same time so boy can’t let her go yada yada yada boy became girl’s bully for 2 years.
thank g it was not extreme, just tame taunting words coz that makes more sense.
i guess that was spoiler-ish.
oh who am i kidding that was basically the whole book. but if u're even interested in this author, it doesnt matter at all what it was about / whether u know the story or not. dunno bout u but when i clicked this author, it's 100% clear im here for the smut. only few of JK's book work for me and this one did

this honestly reminded me of Hefty (i think i even liked it more), w/ the whole innocent clueless high school virgins who pines badly for each other. so i think this is as ‘slow burn’ as JK get (although they almost did anal the first night they were together), coz theyve known each other since they were 14 and now theyre 18. but we dont really see any development (as expected), so i still considered this an insta love. but novellas w/ the characters that have known each other for years are what works for me

Well, this was my first time reading this author and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last. I wasn't expecting anything at all, but since I've seen a lot of great reviews from my GR friends; I wanted to read it and see if it was that good. And what a surprise! I ENJOYED IT SO MUCH 🥴
The instalove? F*ck it because that didn't bothered me at all and it felt so right -if that makes sense-, they clearly had feelings for each other despite the bullying aspect. Tbh, lately I've been putting off reading bully romances because I'm afraid that I might not like them, but this one? Omg, yesss! These two had chemistry af 🖤
The H gave me some "YOU" vibes tho and I was here for it! Sick and twisted, but awesome at the same time. He was clearly obssesed yet I liked him.
And the h? She was so screwed up. Such an awesome couple, I won't lie🥵
Highly recommend it if you want something short and steamy!

I love how sometimes JK has her H’s save themselves for the girl. So many times we see girls do it for guys, usually for ones that aren’t worthy.
This is a pretty common script. Boy likes girl, boy thinks girl doesn’t reciprocate. Boy bullies girl and any other boy who approaches. Because if he can’t have her, no one can.
REMORSE. That’s the ugly “four” letter word that encompasses this story.
For the first time reading a JK story I’m not hit over the head with instalove. Something must be in the water because these romance writers are changing it up and I’m sure not complaining.
His desperation is both endearing and aggravating. But I will say it’s nice to have an h who isn’t hopelessly naive.
While I applaud JK for changing it up I can’t help but admit that I missed original formula.

Does no woman ever get sore in Jessa Kane’s books?
Lol just like all her books this was equal parts hot and fucked up. We follow Allie, the virgin rich girl who is being bullied by Moore, the poor nobody who thinks that Allie rejected him because of his status. He saves her one day from her father, takes her to his family cabin, and they fuck. Again. And again. And again.

Mutual pinning. Grovelling. Worshiping.

His threats force Allie to ignore Moore who sees this as a betrayal and as her acting like a rich brat. Two years of bullying follows until things finally comes to a head and Moore realises the truth of Allie's situation

1) To me this is what I want in a "bully" romance. It's disgusting to ME when the H bullies the h and we don't see or feel his remorse or regret. To make matters worst "bully romances" love to have the H sleeping with others and flaunting it in the h's face. Not here! I can get behind some bullying in this form, nothing too OTT or physically harmful or publicly humiliating but it's clear the h is hurt to. In this case I believe Moore lashed out because he was hurt too and boy oh boy when he found out the truth he was wrecked. Even better is the fact that he never even wanted another girl after seeing the h.
2) Even though I enjoyed this bully romances on the whole leave me uncomfortable
3)I honestly cannot think of another author who does sexual tension and steam like this author. I read this constantly checking over my shoulder to make sure !y daughter wasn't stealth reading 😂
4) The separations really worked, the last five months in particular because the h needed some space
5) I really wanted to see her dad punished
6) I did think the timing of the first sex was off though
7) I really wish this was longer

This was a nice, fast-paced, quick, and dirty read, about two souls finding each other after a complicated situation that finally solved itself.
I just loved these two 🖤.
There was enough bullying, remorseful feelings, obsessive behavior on both sides, healing and hotness, packed in 70 pages, with a satisfying epilogue. I would have loved an extra one as well to cover maybe the next 20 years or more, haha, but we can assume where they would be. 🥹🖤
So read this one if you like a quick and dirty read about two young people finding everything in each other 😉🤍.

This novella broke my heart then made it whole again. How does a book with less than 100 pages invoke so much emotion? Moore and Allie went through so much but I'm really really and genuinely happy that they got their HEA. I didn't expect so much from this short story but I'm glad I got to read this. ❤️

4.5 stars - this was so much better than I was expecting! Really enjoyed it. For a short story it was packed and heavier than I thought it would be which was great. Loved it. It didn't have any of the waffling bullshit to fluff it out.

You guys. I finally found a bully romance that I actually liked.
My biggest complaint with bully romances is that these heroes NEVER grovel enough. I find their actions to be distractingly unforgivable, but omg the amount of groveling this hero does - the way he recognizes how awful he was to her the entire time was so satisfying. This is definitely a bully romance for people who don't like bully romances.

Let’s just say I promised I would calm it down on the stalker books for the evening I am here to announce that I lied. In typical JK fashion this novella has literally blown me away. I was nervous to read this one because I "HATE"bullies. The bully trope makes me want to literally runaway. 🏃♀️
However, Ms. Kane does it in a way that I can’t deny rocks my whole world 🌍. Allie is living an absolutely wretched life at home with her abusive father. Then one day the object of her desire finally sees her. Outside of her home in the rain 🌧they have a moment. That moment is short lived because her father is a savage who ruins everything. After that day her one true desire turns into an absolute nightmare.
For 2 years he bullies her, calls her awful names and she ignores until one day she can’t take it anymore.That’s all it takes for our AntiHero to get into action and save his girl.

The blurb pretty much lays out the entire plot… Moore is a poor handyman (in HS) and Allie is rich. They have a connection one night; she “rejects” him, and he makes her pay. After unfairly bullying her… he’ll sell his soul to win her back.
I didn’t mind this, I like to know where I’m headed… and we had less than 100 pages to get there. JK has her own style and following, and fans should/probably will be satisfied. For me, I thought it was Ok… but a little lacking in the smut and OTT shenanigans departments.
This author doesn’t dig deep, but I was disappointed that the parts that had the most potential for generating drama-llama goodness were brushed over. For example, the actual bullying all happens off-page (except for one scene) and it’s not hard-core bullying … like .
Bottom Line- Quick, fluffy, YA-ish read available on KU. I just needed more drama and smut.

I've been having a hard time with bully romances lately because I think I'm getting too old for the back and forth that usually happens in this trope. This was a nice break from that. It was short, steamy and straight to the point. Moore did give me a bit of stalker/Joe Goldberg from YOU vibes, but the book was so short that I was completely ok with it. I'll go ahead and excuse his craziness for love.

Bully romance is usually not my poison of choice… however, if they all were written like this one I might reconsider my gripes with the genre.
Was it unhinged? Yes.
Slightly unhealthy? That is to put it mildly.
Was I 100% invested? Yes.
I think it is due to the fact the reader got to see the hero’s remorse despite the meshuga rationale behind it.
Still, it wasn’t just the remorse- for me- it was the redemption he attempted (in his very messed up ways). I think that is where bully romances fail, or romances in general. The guy can grovel, but terrible awful OM can grovel too. The difference between an OM and a Hero is the redemption part.
Regret. Ownership. FREAKING GENUINE ACTION TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE = Redemption.
The hero of this story was all for it. Which made me say “get that girl and make sure she never doubts your character again.”

The Good Place:
▫️I enjoyed the hero but… bullying the girl who you wanted to love you….What was the logic behind it? 😂
Yet, given that this was a teenage boy, I could definitely see how his crazy plan would be logical in his hormone addled mind. 🙄
That and the fact the guy had some serious abandonment issues. Poor hero.
▫️There is a mirror scene in this 👀. I’m a sucker for mirror scenes.
▫️The heroine was actually strongish. I won’t say she was the STRONGEST, since she sort of had a bit of body betrayal syndrome, yet given the things the hero was saying… huh…. I don’t blame her 😂. She did leave know, given what happened with her father, she needed to know their relationship was not some codependent trap of toxicity- especially because she really cared about him and wanted for it to work. Additional points for the hero understanding that before she did and giving her the space (somewhat 😏).

▫️THE DOUBLE VIRGINS PART!! I wasn’t completely sold on the obsession until that came up. HE FREAKING WAITED?! WHEN HE ‘HATED’ HER? Geez. The scene where he confessed it too, it was so hot.
▫️Sexy times in the rain. Not something that I thought I would find appealing, yet here I was reading it and going: 👀. I love a good storm.
