We are thrust right back into the world of The Devil's Knights in the second installment The Devil I Crave. Alex, Lucas and Marcello are once again front and center. Alex continues to be pulled between the two brothers, a choice must be made. She must marry into the family and me made The Queen but who is the right choice. She also knows that she must stay and make that choice to finally find out the truth about her brother Aidan. One man is distant, infuriating, cruel and makes her crave him like no other! While the younger brother is protective, soothing, and calms her from her night terrors. She wants both but may only choose one. The enemy is continuing to circle and they will do whatever it takes to capture her. This is not a typical love story. It is filled with lust, love, lies, it is twisted and crazy but it leaves you craving more and wanting to know the secrets and truths. Sit down, buckle up and get ready for a wild sexually charged ride with the king, the knights and their queen !! ~~Michele McMullen ~~
This was a great continuation! I felt so bad for poor Alex. She is torn but she has to make a choice. She doesn’t know who to trust and what to believe. I have to say that I have a soft spot for Marcello. He is my favorite and I cannot wait to see where the story will take our heroes. This is such an addictive series and I am so glad I discovered this author. Cannot wait for more.
The devil I crave by Jillian Quinn is book 2 in the Devil Knights series and I'm still not sure I really care where it's going or what's happening?? All I do know is it's frustrating and addictive and I need to know more, and I really want Alex to pick Luca. I know Luca is twisted and buckled but I'm 100% sure Alex's heart is only going to beat fully for him. It's full of lies and twists and secrets and more moments of really what the HELL!!!!! I'm definitely recommending this series so far 📖
I have mixed feelings about this book. I was looking forward to it because of the way the previous one ended, now that I have read The Devil I Hate I am worse, haha. Drea has spent 10 years of her life in love with Luca Salvatore. Ten years in which she feels that Luca has not valued her and even feels that her love is unrequited, that he has been manipulating her to the point of losing her sanity. Fed up with Luca's mind games, she rebels and seeks her voice. Being an important piece of the Devil’s Knights, she has the power to decide who to marry: Luca, the next to take command of the Knights, the Devil and her first love. Or Marcello, Luca's younger brother, her friend and confidant for whom she cannot help but feel a great attraction.
Drea has given Luca an ultimatum and now she has the power to choose, something that has been denied her entire life. However, she cannot help feeling confused, and now she remembers certain passages in her life that were previously gaps and, having the complete picture, she wonders about what will be the best decision. Luca is a hard, mysterious man, he is incapable of showing any emotion and even less showing feelings. He has lived under his father's orders, even when he resents him, he does his best to please him. Duty is first, protecting his Queen is his priority but love means nothing to him... or is what he tries to tell himself for not wanting to look weak. Marcello is completely the opposite of Luca and from the beginning creates a unique bond with Drea, which Luca sees as a threat because the reality is that Luca has strong feelings for Drea.
As I mentioned before, love triangles are not my thing, however I make an exception for this one because it was necessary for the main characters to open their eyes and work to win each other's affections. Now, intrigues and betrayals are the order of the day. Third parties seek to separate Drea and Luca and a revelation in the final chapter again threatens to change the entire order that had been achieved. Obviously it ends in Cliffhanger and we will have to wait a bit to read the conclusion of this story.
Review : Things are getting more and more complicated now. All Alex wants is to find her brother and to get herself out from between another two brothers who are hell bent on claiming her and using her for their own personal rivalries.
Luca is not making any sense but she knows that he is the devil because that's all he will ever be. And this time, she is not going to fall in his trap. He is going to fall in hers.
I won't say much at the risk of giving away any major spoiler but I can tell you guys how much this book drove me crazy! I want the next one now because that ending was one huge punch to the gut! None of you are prepared for that I hope that you survive it 🤣💕
3.5 Stars The enemies had become braver. Attacking the Devil's Knight on home soil and injuring Marcello in the crossfire. Alex showed her concern for Marcello's well-being and Luca became jealous. A rivalry started to brew between the two brothers. But Luca is adamant that Alex will marry him. Alex started to have feelings for both brothers and feels torn. In the midst of all the chaos, she was still searching for clues about her brother’s whereabouts. Her nightmares had become more vivid and the knights were hoping for her to remember. Time was ticking, and they needed her to choose her King, except now there were two suitors. Luca played a game that he landed up regretting, and the knights started to panic when they realized what was at risk? Alex seemed to hold more power than she realized, but what was she not remembering? On the whole, I have enjoyed the story, but found the smexy scenes at times a bit too much and came across as filler. I would have preferred more backstory and more rivalry between the brothers. But, the story does keep you in suspense and the mystery keeps building. I am looking forward to the next instalment when all will be revealed.
I may be in the minority, but this book did not work for me. I gave it 3 stars solely for the mysterious edge to the book. I was very confused.. I mean in the first one I understood the love triangle, Alex needed to figure out what she wanted/ who she wanted/ if she wanted to deal with Luca's insanity. This book, sort of threw me for a loop, that love triangle.. became a love octagon with all the side characters being obsessed with "their queen, It was beyond confusing! I get it, they all loved her and something scandalous happened that Alex is trying to remember.. BUT GOOD LORD! This book felt very reverse haram to me, and that's a genre that I'm not really okay with.. so that kind of ruined the book. I will say some positives were the writing was amazing, we got more Luca, we got to know Luca more, and that was where it ended.. I saw the ending cliffy happening the entire time and I was just annoyed with Marcello! I enjoyed him in the first book but this book left a bad taste in my mouth whenever he was around.
Will I read the final book? Yes, I am not a quitter! But this book left me so disappointed.
What a cliffhanger! If you love a good dark romance, then you are going to have to read this. It's just amazing! It was so intense and so dark. I didn't know it could get any better than the first book, but this one was even better than the first one. But that cliffhanger definitely left me hanging though. I can't wait for the continuation of Alex and Luca's story.
Alex is basically in a tug of war between Lucas and Marcello but she has to choose one and she doesn’t know who to choose. She needs to get the answers she craves about her brother while keeping her self safe too. She feels like a pawn but knows she has choice
The Devil I Crave is the second book in The Devil's Knights series. We met Alex and Luca in the first book The Devil I Hate. We were left with a ton of questions and very few answers. We also knew that Alex has some major medical/mental issues that Luca doesn't want to really take into consideration at all. He is a very stubborn, selfish, and heartless man. This is one of the few books I have ever read where I actually hate the H. He doesn't seem to have any redeemable qualities at all. But there is something about this story that keeps you reading. I HAVE to know what the Knights are all about. What Alex is missing in her memory. Why Luca is so hell-bent on making Alex remembering certain things. I need to know these things.
So on to the next book. BTW the sexual tension between Alex and the brothers is unbelievable. That is another thing I need to know. Who will Alex end up with?
Omg this is so addicting. Another phenomenal read that had me absolutely hooked. I absolutely love Luca & Alex and this book will definitely have you rooting for the devil. Everyone must one click ASAP. The twists are insane and definitely will have you reading nonstop.
I’m probably in the minority here. I really tried with the second part of this story, but it just wasn’t for me and I gave up at 56%. I’m not a fan of secret society books anyway and the whole ‘queen’ thing really grated on my nerves along with the the expression ‘baby girl’. I just came to the conclusion that the characters were just a lot of mixed up loonies!
Oh man, this book is like a rollercoaster on my emotions. These two just kept giving me whiplash after whiplash keeping me loving and hating them with each chapter.
The story starts exactly where book 1 ends, with Marcello shot and everyone hanging on by a bare thread waiting to see if he will make it. I was on the fence, I love Marcello don't get me wrong, but he is the 'other guy' in the story. Was I scared (and hopefully and scared ) that Alex will choose him based on what happened in book 1? YES. I wanted her to choose him because frankly, he is good for her, but Luca needed to up his game!
And he did! Well mostly. We finally get more Luca in this book. The present Luca, and his internal battle with his emotions for Alex. His upbringing, his mental health, his personality, Alex, all made him into the man he is today. Is he an idiot, blinded fool when it comes to Alex and his responsibility? YES. And the shit he pulled on his birthday gave me a coronary! I wanted to hit him soo hard! But I guess ' it needed to happen to give them both (side-eyeing Luca) a jolt to realise their truths. And it gave us (me) a release of the tension that has been building up from book 1.
The whole story - the Founder's society, the Devil's Knight, legare , Alex's mental block - is still a big mystery. And as you keep on reading, things are revealed, but also become more confusing. And honestly, I am here for it! I need book 3 like yesterday because I need the conclusion to the hate story that is Alex and Luca.
OK. I think that I've read one of the best book in this month. With „The Devil I Crave” Jillian Quinn destroyed me! This book is a one big suprise!
Alex has a really hard time. Luca and Marcello are occupying her life and mind too. She must decides, but these two mens don't make this decision easy. Alex knows that she must find the truth about her brother. She must put herself first. Both, Luca and Marcello want her in their wreid ways. Alex feels like a pawn, but is that true? She isn't a pawn, she is a queen in this game.
„The Devil I Crave” is a second installment in the „Devils Knight's” trilogy. I this book we are thrown into deep water at the beginning of this story. But you must read the first book in this series before you take „The Devil I Crave”.
I am really curious how Jillian Quinn wants to end this story. I really like all heroes in this books and I really need answers! I have so much questions about this story and now I must wait to the third book. OMG, how bad.
„The Devil I Crave” is a really good story! I was in this book from the first page and I didn't put this book down until I finished it. If you want a really good triangle romance „The Devil I Hate” is for You and then „The Devil I Crave”. If you read the first book in this trilogy... I really don't know what are you doing here. Go and read the second book!
The Devil I Crave is book 2 of a dark romance series and cannot be read as a standalone. You must read The Devil I Hate first to enjoy the story.
This is more of a love triangle, but, it seems that whoever Drea chooses will suffer. Alex (Drea) has spent 10 years of her life in love with Luca Salvatore. Ten years in which she feels that Luca has not valued her and even feels that her love is unrequited. Luca has been manipulating her to the point of losing her sanity. Part of the reason for her memory laps is from Luca playing these mind games on her.
Since Luca forces her to spend so much time with his brother, Marcello, will she finally turn to Marcello and not look back at Luca? Luca has played with her head and heart for 10 yrs, 7 of those years she made him wait until she was ready. Drea's grandfather told her she just needed to choose one of the Salvator brothers, he never said she had to choose Luca over Marcello, just one of them.
Will Luca realize that he does in fact love Drea? Will he finally allow those feelings to surface? Marcello seems to be the better brother. He's a friend, someone she can lean on. But, is that too much?
Will those who are after Alex finally get to her? Or will Luca and his Army of men protect their Queen?
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
I'll tell you one thing that I know with absolute certainty; once this dark and twisty trilogy has you in each clutches there is no escape. This is book two, of The Devil's Knights and you must read book one, The Devil I Hate before diving into this book. As with most dark reads, this book is not for all readers but if you enjoy your reads with a sharp edge and like having your boundaries pushed this book and series is for you. There's a lot going on as the gripping storyline unfolds. This book/series offers up a whirlpool of intense emotions, danger, betrayal, shocking twists and stunning revelations. This is the type of tale that is constantly challenging your thoughts and feelings about it, the story being told and the players. I have to admit that there are a few things going on here that are not really my favorites and that has presented a challenge here and there for me. In spite of this though I find myself firmly captivated and consumed and eagerly awaiting the third book to see what the fallout is from the major cliffy that we are left on and how everything wraps up in the end. This is my unbiased, unsolicited review.
The Devil I Crave is the second book in The Devil's Knights so there's no way around this fact, YOU MUST READ The Devil I Hate (Book 1) FIRST! This series is really messing with my head since I don't know my a** from a hole in the ground as all the questions I have are getting out of control. Alex has quite the situation going as there are a ton secrets swirling around her so the twists are coming in hot all over again. She's supposed to choose between Luca (who she's had a thing for in the past), and his brother, Marcello, who treats her better. Luca has made some serious missteps when it comes to making her their Queen, which is why she now has the choice so he's sweating it out a bit now. That doesn't mean that he treats her any better because he doesn't, and he really made the biggest misstep of all about keeping something very important from her that had her going rogue which leads to an even bigger cliffhanger which has me dying inside. I find myself so anxious as I NEED the conclusion NOW since I'm so far into this world it's not even funny. Anyway that's enough out of me, just hit those one click buttons & buckle up for a wild ride! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
The Devil I Hate was slightly difficult for me to read, the timeline was a bit confusing but I was still intrigued so I continued. Best decision ever. The Devil I Crave blew me away.
Picking up where we left off with in the last book, things are going down. And it was kinda a nail-biter I was freaking out. Especially because I was really team Marcello. But there was a chapter in this book that really changed my mind. From there on out, I was team Luca.
Luca is so complex and blind to his emotions, some people are just like that. They need to be a little something to shake things up.
Alex, girllll. She was so wish-washy. She just wants her cake and to eat it too. Not that I blame her because i would do THE EXACT SAME.
This book was a total love triangle and my heart had some moments it couldn't take. I would put the book down walk away and RUN right back to it.
Ummmmm what just happened?!?!?! MIND BLOWN! This intense push and pull between Alex and Luca is INSANE! While Alex likes to experiment and test the boundaries with Luca, she cannot help having some sort of feelings for his brother. It gets really emotional and insane throughout this book. It picks up right where the first book left off and I was literally gripping my ereader while I read it. The depth of the story, with twists and turns and insane secrets, I was dying to get answers. Of course being a trilogy, you are left with more questions than answers and that ended was quite a bang! As I am reading this series, I am so in love with the concept and the uniqueness of the Knights. Quinn gives us grit and passion, sizzle and sass but a lot of raw emotions. They really intensify though this book as Alex is looking for answers. Bring on book three because I neeeeeeed to know how it all plays out!
A solid 3.5 stars, I’m enjoying this series but jeez Alex gives me whiplash. Honestly girl make up your damn mind and actually use common sense. The way Luca is makes sense to Alex yet she seemed to punish the way he was or treated her repeatedly. And am I the only one who thinks Marcello is a bit of a creep? I get he had feeling for Alex for a long time and felt he owed his brother. Yet that doesn’t stop him trying things with Alex ? No loyalty I’m sorry. I get the whole Knights things but there is such a thing as loyalty within family no?
Ending had me smacking my head against a wall. Not because there was a cliffhanger, I expected that! Alex is brainless at times and I just want to throttle her, the girl can’t even make a decent decision half the times and with everything going on thought a trip out to settle her suspicions was a good idea. A solid 3.5 kindle unlimited read but please Alex use your brain!
This is book 2 in the series so if you haven't read book 1, the devil I hate, do that now!
The Devil I hate ends in a cliffhanger and The Devil I Crave picks up right in the middle of an amazing scene. Writing a review about this is hard because I don't want to give anything away.
I can tell you to clear 3-4 hours in your schedule, find somewhere comfy and where you won't be bothered by children, partners, pets or the outside world. Turn your phone off and dive into The Devil I Crave. I waited until the weekend to read when I knew I could give this book 100% of my attention as that's what it deserves!
This book also ends in a cliff hanger and if you don't enjoy them, wait until all 3 books are out and plan a weekend by yourself to enjoy reading and then the book hangover you will get from reading!
I'm going to take a nap and maybe re-read since it was so amazing!
The second book in a trilogy in my opinion doesn’t really give you any answers but mainly sets up the finale in the final book. I definitely found this the case with The Devil I Crave - but once again that cliffhanger has me all kinds of excited and wary at the same time. Lexie still has so many questions that needed answers and Luca only likes to give little snippets of information that doesn’t really satisfy her. There is one part of the book where he opens up to her and it was hands down my favorite part of the story. I am so excited to get my hands on the final book but at the same time I will be a bit a little bit heartbroken that it will be over. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
I was lucky enough to get an arc and let me tell you.... im in heaven. This is book 2 in the series so if you havent read book 1, the devil i hate, do that now. This book has it all, ** hot sex, mystery, great story thats not predictable and so many twists and turns you wont be able yo put it down. The story is becoming so much clearer now. Alex is sorting out her feeling toward the brothers and she has a better understanding of the knights and her role with them. They wedding day is getting closer and closer, but who will she choose? Can she find her brother? Is her life still in danger? Or can she escape it all? Download it now to find out. Eeep im so excited for you. Enjoy xx
"Torn between two Devils, I have to make an impossible choice. The monster who haunts my worst nightmares. Or the savage who invades my dirty dreams". When Alexandrea becomes the pawn of family and loyalty, her choices are limited. Does she choose the dark and devilish Luca with his mysterious manner and aggressive behaviour? Or does she choose his younger brother, Marcello, with his more caring demeanour but deadly secrets? Which one will become the King to her Queen? Book 2 in the trilogy and the danger explodes with attempted kidnappings, devious plots and dream revelations that only beg the question: who will survive?
Where oh where do I even begin... I will state this book is just as twisted and dark as the first book The Devil I hate. Luca and Alex's relationship is anything but conventional. I love how Alex has not lost her backbone and has stood her ground on certain topics. The twists and turns are just as depraved as they are delicious. Just when you think things are going to settle more gas gets thrown into the fire and the flames start to burn hotter with each page. I'm afraid to say much more as I am afraid I will give something away. Just know this book is a page turner and will leave you begging for more.
This is the second book in the Devil trilogy and this book begins with a life hanging in the balance and choices to be made. The Knights need a Queen but who will she choose?
This book was a riveting tale of love, hate, passion and betrayal. Again - ending with a cliffhanger! I can’t wait for the conclusion of this series as I am truly invested in the characters and the stories they have to tell.
If you love dark, broody romance you will love this trilogy!
I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
Wow just wow! The Devil I Crave picks up straight after that cliffhanger ending in The Devil I hate! This can not be read as a standalone.
I knew it was going to be intense and I was not disappointed! Alex and Luca's' story is one of intense passion, they both have a love/hate relationship. They both have to make tough choices! Choice's that don't just affect them!
This series is Romantic suspense at it's very best! I didn't want to put it down but as the same time I need to know what happened. I can't wait for the conclusion to this series. You have to read this!
It is so awesome we did not have to wait long for the second in this trilogy!
As intense as the first, I found myself entrenched with Alex, and her problems. I can tell you, my heart beat so fast I was wondering if I'd survive. I had to take several deep breaths multiple times throughout!
I can't believe this is the first time reading this author! When this trilogy completes, you bet I'll be checking this author's other work!
The second book picks up immediately following the end of book one. This book left me more confused than ever. I enjoy the premise of dark romance but this series has me going in so many different directions that I’m not entirely sure of what is even going on. Like what happens with the Knights & Alex? What did happen with them? Is she allowed to do what she pleases with them? I just have so many questions. That being said, the story kept me interested & I’m excited for the third one.
