Okay here we go.
I have read lots of this author's work, some I have loved others not so much.
First of all I made the fatal mistake of starting the series before it is completed, I was in a huge book slump when book 1 came out and I loved the broken series by this author so I couldn't resist.
Book 1, I believe was out in July so by the time I started this book in October I had forgotten what was going on and sadly I wasn't invested enough in the series to reread.
And at the moment book 3 is listed but no date, alas the issues of reading a WIP.
This is a second chance story. The Hero had to leave the heroine behind with no explanation.
In the last book they were reunited, sort of, though pretending not to be together for safety reasons.
I found the book very frustrating, unfinished conversations, yes I have secrets but I'll tell you later constantly.
Very little is actually revealed.
The heroine escapes yet another risky situation but goes for a walk without a bodyguard.
I understand one instance as the Hero can't see the bodyguard is not a particularly good guy, doesn't have the heroine's best interests at heart but she goes for a walk, a ride etc on her own.... Why???
During the separation.
They have been apart I think it's 10 years.
The heroine says she has had 3 relationships, one was serious, he proposed.
The Hero, it is vague.
Someone in the know says he was never interested in anyone else, father's would introduce them to their daughter in hope but he wasn't interested.
He says he never brought another woman to his house, in his bed etc but this gives me the impression he has seen other people in some shape or form but it would be unrealistic for him to be celibate.
There is other woman drama.
This too is unclear at this point and not really cleared up.
She says he was hers. They were to marry.
He denies it, tells her to her face he never loved her. He says there is a difference between what he wanted and what others thought would happen.
But later when the heroine confronts him, the family, his family seem dumbfounded he hadn't told her and he is confiding in his family about the heroine being upset about it and they say obviously duh you should have told her!!!
Maybe this will be cleared up in book 3.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Maybe reading all 3 books together will make it less frustrating, talk to each other!!!!!
Also, I seem to remember even in the broken series the heroine was at times tstl.

There is some graphic violence.
Cliffhanger ending.

Sienna and Elio have me turned round and round…
I KNOW. I know this is the second book of three. I know. I know. I know. Doesn’t mean I have to like it. Not the story - I freakin’ LOVE this story! These two, their families, their choices, their circumstances. Yeah, pretty much everything was designed for me to fall in love….
That doesn’t mean I can’t be totally knocked over by the topsy turvy world they lived in. Where answers meant even more questions. Where truths were not always complete. When love that I KNOW is steadfast could be shaken. Where people I just knew would never waver, are now, somehow, shaky…
What is going on? What world have I entered? A world that has me completed, utterly captivated. One I don’t want to leave. I love the characters. Even the awful ones. They are so true to themselves. And the story…
Oh, and another cliffhanger. Don’t love that. Well, I kind of did. It had me, once again, going ‘What? What? What?’… I’m not even that upset. Of course, now that I’ve cooled down and started at the beginning again. I am looking to see what hints I may have missed because you know I will be beyond ready for book three…. Good lord - this is why I can't deal with trilogies, lol. Now I need to wait... again... for the conclusion of Elio and Sienna's story. Honestly, I never would have started the first book if I had known it was a trilogy, I read it by accident. But I would have missed out on this wonderful story, so I really can't regret it! I LOVE JL Drake's writing. I love this story and these characters... I'm dying waiting for their happily ever after. It's one of those written in the stars romances that It's just that every time they get close, some unknown specter from the past pops up and gets in the way. There are so many machinations going on below the surface, it's not real clear who at the bottom of all their troubles until the pot has been stirred to overflowing and all the damage has been done. Even with all my angst about the, well, angst... still totally give this five stars! I cannot wait for the conclusion - it can't come fast enough!

WOW, Drake didn't disappoint me!
She has a twisted mind and I'm in love with "Her" version of Mafia.
What you think you know, isn't always as it seems.
Just when you think you know something down to your very soul, you learn more Secrets that shake you to your core and leave you spinning. So when that happens, who can you turn to?
Guess you'll have to read it to find out.
Hang on tight, there's always a cliff someone wantd to push you off of right around the corner!

OH-MY-FREAKING.....WHAT A OUTRAGEOUSLY CRAZY AMAZING RIDE THIS ONE WAS😍😍😍😍
How the heck am I supposed to survive till the next book comes out I have no idea but I know it will be worth every second of the wait.
I cannot express how deeply this series and Elio and Sienna and each one in this series has consumed me completely. Like I'm still all there thinking about the things that happened and guessing what and the why of everything.
This review is probably going to be a lot of rambling but that is what happens when a book drives you completely crazy and you just can't stop thinking about any of it.
Elio is ten times more intense but so is his perfect match Sienna. In book 1 we were still reeling from the many things that were happening and the reunion of Elio and Sienna. But this book delves deeper into the union of Elio and Sienna, the person and personality that they are today.
Also we get to meet people who just open up all the more secrets and a web of lies and deceit id spun which just gets so complicated, I had was not sure whom to trust and who were the betrayers.
Especially when the people closest to you are hiding huge secrets and not ready to reveal anything behind the secrets, no one is wiser as to the actual happenings.
Mariano was just infuriating with the forceful way he is with Sienna but I like that she's a strong woman and certainly knows how to put him in his place and hold her own.
There are many scenes which gave me adrenaline rush just reading them. Some of them chase and action scene turn into spicy and sexy times for Elio and Sienna.
As there is sweet family who loves, there also people within the family who'd rather see them separated and drive a wedge between Elio and Sienna in such a fashion that they are not even aware who the real players are.
AND THEN THERE IS THE BIGGEST SECRET AMONGST ALL THAT JUST CAN DESTROY EVERYTHING AND I WAS SO SHOCKED TO FIND OUT ABOUT IT. I WAS READING CRAZILY FAST TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.
Ahhh... There is just so much piled up and so many things left a secret but that sneak-peek at the end was such a dayumm teaser, I'm so excited for Book 3 and how everything would unfold.
Freaking loved loved loved this one. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

The number of twists and turns in this book....

OH MY HELL! I'm trying to figure out why the hell I would think that maybe just maybe some questions may be answered (not all of course since this is only book 2), because instead of knowing anything, I know nothing & am suspicious of everyone and their dog to be honest LOL! By the way, YOU MUST READ Quiet Wealth (Book 1) well first because there are layers upon layers to Sienna & Elio's story. There are a lot of times when I've come across a second book that slows the plot down, but not in this instance, hell, it's actually hitting new levels of suspense with insane twists coming in hot so I don't know my head from a hole in the ground at this point. There are so many moving parts with quite a few of them lurking in the shadows waiting to make sure our MCs have no chance at a future together so the betrayal is super thick, and I found myself mad at everyone at some point with the exception of Sienna but that's just me! I swear to all that's holy, the wait for the next book is going to feel like forever so you'll just find me sitting here waiting while dying inside LOL! So yeah, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Quiet Secrets by J.L. Drake is book Two in the Quiet Mafia Series. This continues the story of Elio and Sienna, so you should read the previous book 'Quiet Wealth' before starting this one. Sienna's past in coming into play on her future when Elio who has been taken with her starts to doubt things and questions her. This series has been crazy and nothing but page turning read. This book does end with another cliffhanger setting us up for the next part in their story.

This is the second book in the series and book 1 needs to be read first before reading this review to prevent any spoilers.
Sienna Giovanna's life once again seems to becoming undone after she finally was back in the arms of her first love, Elio Capri. But now she is being torn between two families that hate each other more than anything else and she is trying to find out where she belongs.
Elio Capri's family is the Mafia and he is the Underboss to his father. Elio does his best to protect his family even though he knows that his enemies are trying to infiltrate his close family. Yet Elio understands he must bide his time before he acts on anything, even if that means pretending he is not in a relationship with Sienna.
Yet soon we see how many secrets there really are.
I was somewhat confused about where Francesco's loyalties were but I knew above all there wasn't anything that he wouldn't do to protect Sienna. He was walking a fine line with everything else but I knew how much he cared for her and he really tried to be the peacemaker between everyone involved.
I really do not care for Elio's Nonna at all or her driver, Abramo. They gave me such evil vibes and I am pretty sure that she is behind everything bad that is lurking within the secrets.
I was pretty frustrated at Elio in this book as he kept questioning Sienna over and over again about her past that she has no idea about yet he wouldn't open up to her about anything. So frustrating and I was losing hope that he was the right guy for her.
The end was definitely shocking and I am super curious to see where this goes now and what happens to Sienna!!

I was somewhat confused about where Francesco's loyalties were but I knew above all there wasn't anything that he wouldn't do to protect Sienna. He was walking a fine line with everything else but I knew how much he cared for her and he really tried to be the peacemaker between everyone involved.
I really do not care for Elio's Nonna at all or her driver, Abramo. They gave me such evil vibes and I am pretty sure that she is behind everything bad that is lurking within the secrets.
I was pretty frustrated at Elio in this book as he kept questioning Sienna over and over again about her past that she has no idea about yet he wouldn't open up to her about anything. So frustrating and I was losing hope that he was the right guy for her.
The end was definitely shocking and I am super curious to see where this goes now and what happens to Sienna!!

Holy Crap! What an ending!! The title says it all. So many secrets in this one. Who knows what and who is going to end up getting hurt? This is the second book and you will need to read book 1 first. Sienna and Elio's story continues with this book.
I love this author's writing style. She is sure to give us more than we asked for and sometimes I just didn't even need to know. BUt it all adds to the richness of the characters. This Italian Sydicate/Mafia family has secrets so deep, I don't think even they can remember them all.
Some overall thoughts: I love Sienna. She is so much more than a street rat young woman. I love watching her adapt and meld into this world.
The creeps are even creepier: Mariano, Anna, Nonna and her driver, the Santori bros. What the heck is going on??
Loved seeing some familiar faces from the author's MC books.
March is too far away to get a resolve for me. I can't wait to see what Sienna will do now. I know that there is true love deep down but as I said, family secrets run deep with this bunch. I don't know that Elio will get pasts this.

What a fantastic plot. It’s twisted, and full of clues and hints that kept me fully invested in this thrilling journey to its conclusion…
Elio and Sienna have a rough road ahead of them, there’s evil men they will have to kill and men that they will have to find, and things that have to be said.
As the story progresses there’s more double-crossing and some of the shady secondary characters to contend with. Yep the story is just packed full will clues and twists.
There’s still questions that need to be answered, I can’t wait for the next book……

Quiet Secrets picks up right where Quiet Wealth leaves off and you’re dropped right into the action! Sienna finally has her mom but it’s definitely not the Gilmore Girls relationship she was hoping for. She’s led down paths she never imagined and Elio doesn’t help at times! Their relationship sure is tested throughout the book… especially when others get involved.
The action never stops, secrets are always coming out, and you’ll never guess what’s going to happen next!!

Quiet Secrets by J.L. Drake is book 2 in the Quiet Mafia Series. Elio and Sienna’s story continues in quite an explosive way! Things are just bubbling up , secrets and lies finding its way to the forefront, the secret romance between Elio and Sienna is finally exposed. There's so much betrayal, secrets, twists, backstabbing, animosity, hate, lies, family dynamics/loyalty, romance, heat, feels, emotions, angst, drama and cliffhanger in book 2. At the end , ask yourself? Are you having a good time? The answer will be 💯% YES! because this book has it all!! I can't wait for book 3!!!!

J.L. Drake strikes again!!!! What a way to continue the story. She is not playing with the cliffhangers , twists and turns and I did not see that coming moments!!!! This book will keep you turning the page. Drake stepped it up on the mafia action/violence. Elio definitely levels up & has no problems letting his dark side show. Quiet Wealth gets your feet wet but your in the deep end with Quiet Secrets! And the ending doesn’t disappoint. A definite recommend 🔥🔥🔥🖤🖤🖤

Another amazing addition to this author's repertoire of the best books ever.
This book takes off right where we were left in Book 1 - lucky for us, we still get to immerse ourselves in the hot chemistry that is Elio and Sienna; they love each other so hard, but there are forces out there, they aren't aware of, working against them, and their Happy Ever After.
For me, some things are starting to fall into place (I'm guessing) and still, I'm more confused then ever about other parts of their lives and the characters surrounding them - Sienna's Mom has joined the cast, and the past is coming into the forefront with a vengeance!
I just love when the characters from other books drop by - love Jodi's world!

Intense. Sombre. Une dark romance (quand même soft) qui vous en fera voir de toutes les couleurs. Un entre-deux entraînant, passionnant, avec une touche énorme d’action, de suspense, de danger et de… passion! À lire!

C’est à cause d’un article qu’a partagé Sienna que tout a commencé… (Eh oh, je ne l’accuse pas, je vous mets en contexte! Hihi) Que toute cette violence a commencé. Notre histoire commence ainsi. Des armes pointées, sur beaucoup trop de personnes autour d’elle. Sienna doit donc prendre du recul et agir comme la voix de la raison afin de calmer l’homme devant elle. Son homme possessif. Le nouveau Patron de la mafia italienne : Elio Capri, le fils de Piero Capri.
« Je ne baissais jamais mon arme tant que je ne comprenais pas une situation dans sa globalité, c’était une de mes règles. Mais quand il s’agissait de Sienna, je les enfreignais. Sans hésiter. »
C’est la première fois qu’elle voit sa mère, et cette première rencontre se fait sous le feu des balles. Bon, pour l’instant, aucune balle ne vole, mais cela ne sera tarder… Surtout avec la tonne de valises et de secrets que cette mère transporte avec elle. Par ailleurs, cette mère, Elenora, semble être une femme puissante, se promène avec des hommes de mains et dévoile de petites miettes de secrets… Des secrets que Sienna a besoin de comprendre, afin de savoir qui elle est vraiment.
« Je m’arrêtai, choquée par ce qu’elle venait de dire.
-Tout ce que dont j’avais besoin?
J’avais envie de hurler, mais je ne voulais pas qu’on se dispute.
-Ce dont j’avais besoin, c’était de ma mère. J’avais besoin de savoir qui j’étais et d’où je venais. J’ai l’impression d’être une toile blanche aux bords tachés et craquelés. Quand j’étais petite, j’arrivais à peine à tenir le coup. Et puis tu apparais avec la clé de mon passé et tu me juges à cause des personnes qui m’entourent. »
Malheureusement, tout arrive en même temps… Sa mère débarque en ville. Les menaces commencent. Le danger se rapproche. Et si on ajoute à cela qu’elle doit comprendre l’univers de la mafia, ses règles et ses lois, Sienna en a alors gros sur les épaules… surtout lorsque Elio, l’homme en qui elle a le plus confiance et qu’elle aime, commence à douter d’elle. Saura-t-elle faire faire à la vérité lorsqu’elle lui éclatera au visage?
Bon! Je ne vous cacherai pas que commencer par un deuxième tome peut parfois… nuire. Comme cette fois-ci. Car il me manque des parcelles de l’histoires. Je vais être honnête, cela ne m’empêche en rien de bien comprendre l’histoire et de la savourer. Mais je crois que j’aurais aimé avoir le « avant » : comment nos personnages se sont rencontrés, savoir comment ils sont tombés amoureux, etc… Par ailleurs, le fait que ce tome est la continuité DIRECT du premier tome est déstabilisant, mais en même temps très intriguant.
Après cette lecture, je pourrais vous dire que c’est ce qui fait la beauté de la plume de cette auteure : elle nous garde en haleine avec les secrets de ses personnages. Et pour avoir des secrets, des mystères… il y en a BEAUCOUP! Chacun de ses personnages sont intrigants, addictifs, mais tellement énigmatiques. J’ai bien aimé les personnages, malgré le fait qu’ils devraient apprendre à davantage parler, communiquer, tous les deux.
Concernant l’histoire; si on oublie les nombreuses fautes de frappe, d’orthographes, la romance est addictive, prenante… On veut en savoir plus sur la famille Capri, sur l’histoire de Sienna… Et tout comme le premier roman, cette romance termine de façon abrupte, brutale. Une romance intrigante, captivante, mais également quelque peu insolite, pleine d’action, de péripéties et de suspense.
« Elle était la seule capable de m’aimer et de me détruire en même temps. »
Un conseil : lisez cette romance du début à la fin, du premier au dernier tome… Cela vous aidera! Hihi! Une histoire captivante, originale, sensuelle, un parfait entre-deux! 8/10

When we left Quiet Wealth there was a standoff – guns pulled on both sides – Sienna being held captive – tensions are high and damn we are back in business!
If you thought we would get light and happiness in Quiet Secrets, I’m here to tell you that is not going to happen! Although Sienna and Elio are happy to be back together, there is still so much that needs to be sorted out.
It’s hard to sort through lies though and Sienna is finding out how hard it is. These lies, it seems almost everyone is lying or withholding information. Everyone is suspect, well personally I think the one person not withholding anything is Sienna, it seems she is everyone’s pawn in this game.
Do I doubt that Elio still loves her, no but there are things he is not aware of either. Although he is not innocent by any means he is also a pawn being played the question for readers becomes, how many puppeteers are behind the scenes, what is their intention and who the hell are they??
One can suspect but some get knocked off the list fairly quickly and as readers peel back the layers on the lies being told we realize author J. L. Drake had taken us into the middle of a maze and we are just as in the dark as Sienna is.
I could not put this book down and when I got to the last few chapters, I honestly kept saying, Crap, oh no! What the hell!!!! and that is how it ended. Will I make it to March for book 3? I hope so, in the meantime I am going to go back and read Quiet Wealth and Quiet Secrets, so when the next book comes out, I will be ready to walk into Sienna and Eilo’s world ready to fight with them.

What a fantastic story it kept me invested in finding out all the answers to my millions of questions left from book one and just added to them! The writing is fantastic and gave me a stress headache with all the tiny hints of clues.
The plot is so twisted but so delicious. I really had no clue who was being honest and had several murderous feelings for quite a few people. The vengeance parts were wonderful and painful. There was lots of bloodshed, and it soothed my evil soul when they mutilated some nasty men, (a shame they couldn’t do a couple of the women too). I did get one HUGE answer at the end, one that I had suspected the whole time, this made me happy because I’m always so clueless.
Elio and Sienna have a lot going against them, a lot left unspoken and so many people to kill. This makes me clap my hands with glee. I’m sure that things will work out the way they should… they better… I’m not above stalking the author to make sure I get the right results!
The plot thickens, the clues get more blurred, the double-crossing gets more cryptic and the characters get shadier. There are so many loose ends and unanswered questions throughout the whole book. I trust no one, I trust some of them, then, that trust gets squashed. My mind has been fried, then scrambled, then beaten into submission and acceptance and now I’m not getting proper answers until book three comes out ... Is it March yet? ... In the meantime, I’m going to have to read the first two books again!

Elio and Sienna have a lot going against them, a lot left unspoken and so many people to kill. This makes me clap my hands with glee. I’m sure that things will work out the way they should… they better… I’m not above stalking the author to make sure I get the right results!
The plot thickens, the clues get more blurred, the double-crossing gets more cryptic and the characters get shadier. There are so many loose ends and unanswered questions throughout the whole book. I trust no one, I trust some of them, then, that trust gets squashed. My mind has been fried, then scrambled, then beaten into submission and acceptance and now I’m not getting proper answers until book three comes out ... Is it March yet? ... In the meantime, I’m going to have to read the first two books again!

Are you fucking kidding me. How in the world does she do it. She creates my favorite books. She gives me what I need and crave before I even know I need it. We need to start a support group for Drake readers. Who’s in? I need all the support I can after this.
Sienna is trying to navigate her way through the mafia life. Her history did not prepare her for this. All she knows is she loves Elio and wants to know the secrets of her past. Mafia life isn’t that easy. Hiding relationships and trying to build others in the process is hard. She doesn’t know who she can trust and the one she thought she could is slowly turning on her.
Elio is in a shitty situation. He needs to take care of business but he wants to love Sienna. He is soon realizing those two things don’t mix well. He needs to protect the family but at the expense of his heart. No-one is to be trusted in the mafia.
This book DEMOLISHED me. There is not a book that this woman writes that I do not love. I’m obsessed with her work and she makes me fall in love with the majority of her characters like I’m a WHORE!!!! No loyalty at all on this end. I will never choose a favorite and you can’t make me!! As for the ones I can’t flipping stand? Well there is a list so stop in. Mariano needs to GO. He just seems like a person id just see their face and get nauseous. Nonna is a bat shit crazy old woman who needs to stay in her lane. Elenora bores me to tears. I need her to mind her own damn business. She’s a damn drama queen. Finally we have Anna. The woman who just can’t take a damn hint. He doesn’t want your slutty venereal disease near him BITCH!! As for the rest. I’m madly in love. Vinni needs his own book. There I said it. He is my all time favorite side character. I love a man with a great sense of humor in a serious environment if that makes sense.
Basically this is all to say I loved it and need MORE!!!!!

OMG!!! I am just speechless....where do I start?? Quiet Secrets is so twisted with so many twist, turns, and secrets. This book consumed me. If I wasn't reading, I was thinking and trying to put the puzzle pieces together to try to figure out the big picture here. Only to come up with nothing until I read that last page and then I had to pick my jaw off the floor. WOW!!! Nothing like I thought and nothing prepared me for those answers to those questions that I had. Geez...this story isn't over by a long shot and I really can't wrap my head around what I just learned. Now I'm sitting here with even more questions as to how this is all going to go. J.L. Drake never disappoints in her writing, but this book right here really is in my opinion one of her best. I probably say that about all her books, but this one has really done a number on me. How am I supposed to wait until March for the next book??? Not with all these questions swirling around in my head...Gosh, J.L. Drake your killing me here. If you have never read anything from this author you are totally missing out. I can't recommend her books enough. Quiet Mafia is a MUST READ!!! I promise that you won't regret it.

Oh I have been dying to get my hands on the next installment of this series and I was not disappointed. The title is aptly named because there are so many secrets that are swirling within these pages that you are left asking yourself did that really happen. Drake has a masterful way of weaving a tale that will keep you on your toes, constantly guessing what will happen and give us a stunning and unique storyline like I have never read. There is a lot that happens within Quiet Secrets as Sienna’s mother reappears in her life, lots of unanswered questions and Elio is not sure what to make of anything. But one thing is for certain, his feelings for Sienna. Regardless of how it is tested, these two have such a stunning connection.
There is a lot to unpack in this one and because it is book two of the trilogy, you know there will be a cliffy ending. It will leave you wanting more. It will leave you breathless and completely lost as to what to do next because you have been so wrapped up in this story. One thing that is brilliant is how Drake interconnects her prior series into this one. Let's just say, I was a very happy girl! Bring on book three!

J.L.Drake knocked me for a total loop and straight into the stratosphere with this one. There were moments when I was ready to throw my book across the room to deal with the emotions I couldn't release. A scream or two might have escaped me as well. My heart couldn't take the beating it took. The character development is so deep and amazing that they felt like they were real.
Elio and Sienna have their love tested time and time again by so many factions that it's surprising they have lasted as long as they have. Her past keeps rearing its ugly head to interfere. She doesn't know who her parents are so this has caused many questions that have dangerous consequences when the answers finally do come. Elio's position as the underboss to his father and the family's syndicate constantly places anyone he loves in a permanent place of danger. Any weakness will be used against him. When Sienna's past and Elio's enemies seem to collide, the results are catastrophic.
Quiet Secrets ends in yet another cliffhanger but oh my goodness, what a place to be left hanging. This book is so freaking good and I can't wait for the next book to find out what happens next.

Quiet secrets (Quiet mafia 2)
This is the second book in this series by this author. Wow what an amazing continuing story. This is the continued story of Elio and Sienna, and Omg this story just blows you away. This is one gripping read from start to finish. This book is filled with lots of drama, suspense, twists and turns and betrayal. This is definitely a hot and steamy read from start to finish. You will be gripped from the first page and left wanting more when you've finished. This book can not be read as a stand alone you must read quiet wealth first to continue with this book. This is an amazing addition to this series from this author.

Gahhhh, I still have so many unanswered questions. This is a story where nothing is as it seems and it will keep you guessing from beginning to end. I am truly looking forward to seeing where this journey will take us. I just need Elio and Sienna to get their HEA they have fought so hard. Elio is a man that I love to hate and hate to love because at times he was just so frustrating when it came to Sienna and he questions everything even his love for her and we can all see how much he truly loves and wants to protect Sienna but its those whispers in his ear that has him questioning himself and everything around him. Sienna is loyal to a fault and her love never wavering no matter how many time Elio has hurt her and my heart just broke for her. I felt like she was the only one fighting for their relationship and I need her to have a HEA. I cant wait for the next book because after that ending I need some answers ASAP.
