I learned that it is possible to create a new career and become a show biz legend simply by being at that right place at the right time.

I was fascinated by Sandy's sad but ultimately uplifting tale, but I was more intrigued by the idea that a 19 year old kid could just luck into a dream career as a professional theatrical animal trainer simply because he volunteered to find and train a dog for free while he was interning at a theatre.

I loved reading about the bond that developed between Sandy and young, idealistic Billy.

I was so pleased to learn that Sandy went on to live a happy, healthy life and that Bill Berloni was able to buy a farm where he now lives with 20 animals, all of them former strays.

A wonderful book.
