WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.
Devlin mets Kylie when she moves in next door to him. Kylie has left her life behind and is starting new. When Kylie goes out for a little job she takes in the neighbor and heads to the park. When Kylie is headed back home it starts to rain. Kylie gets home and realizes she lost her key to get into her new home. So Kylie tries to get in through an open window. Devlin comes home and sees someone at the house next door, no one has lived in for months. When Devlin heads around back he sees someone trying to enter through the window. Devlin grabs the person by the leg and pulls them down, when they try to fight he straddles them and puts handcuff on them. When Devlin finally sees the face he realizes it's a woman. Kylie gets handcuffed by her neighbor the cop, she tells him to take the handcuff off of her. Kylie tells Devlin that she owns the house, she just moved in. Devlin takes off the handcuff, then tells her he has a key. After Kylie gets inside her home she tells Devlin that she's getting her locked changed. A day later Devlin comes over with a box of chocolates to apologies to her, it's Kylie's favorite. Kylie forgives him, they talk for a while. Devlin helps Kylie when he can he's been busy at work trying to catch the Dalton Family. When Devlin goes to leave he asks her if he can see her again, so Kylie invites him over for dinner. A week later, Kylie is busy in the kitchen making dinner, she waiting for Devlin to come. When there's a knock on her door she finds her sister's boyfriend, Marty Dalton. Kylie left in the middle of the night, from her sister's place. Kylie wanted nothing to do with her sister's boyfriend or their family. Kylie tried to get her sister to come with but she was to in love. Devlin comes knocking on the door right when Marty is about to leave. Devlin recognize Marty right away, but he can't arrest him. Devlin asks Kylie want her involvement is with the Dalton family, and she explains about her sister. When Devlin starts to try to get information out of Kylie she tells him she doesn't know anything they did, she kept to herself. Kylie tells Devlin he needs to leave. When Devlin gets home he realizes Kylie is his, and he needs to protect her. Devlin goes to get his gun and when he's about to leave Kylie is at his door. Devlin pulls her in and kisses her, then tells her he doesn't care about her past. Kylie tells him she wants him too, Devlin tells her she needs to stay with him. Kylie asks him to show her his bedroom, Delvin pleasures her then they make love. Kylie wanted a new life a new start and it looks like she has it with Delvin. Three years later, Devlin leaves the courthouse, the reporters swarm him but he holds up his hand. Devlin doesn't answer any questions he's on his way to the diner to met Kylie. Devlin finds Kylie in the back with their son, feeding him. Shortly after meeting Kylie Devlin got a break in the case, it has taken three years for the case to go to court. Kylie's sister was clean, she even started a new life for herself. Kylie asks Devlin what happened and he tells her guilty on all counts. Kylie tells Devlin how proud she is of him for keeping King's County safe. Devlin has a healthy son, a beautiful wife, and a job he loves, he has a lot to celebrate.

Welcome to the neighborhood with a slap of the cuffs
Devlin is the fifth book in the King's Cops series and is the story of Devlin and Kylie.
Kylie is twenty years old and moved into her own place the day before. She is starting over with her life and has made a midnight running break from everything and everyone. There is only herself and her older sister Mel as their mother died when Kylie was fifteen and she then moved in with and was raised by Mel. But a few years ago Mel fell in with a bad crowd from work as a hostess in the VIP area of a club, and she met and got involved with Marty Dalton. Marty and his brother are into running drugs and other things and Kylie wanted no part of it or him and his family. So she moved across the county which she thought was going to be far enough away.
Devlin is a DI with the King's County Police Department. He has been in charge of trying to get enough evidence to bust the Dalton brothers and their crews to send them all away to jail for a long time. The last few months have been intense as the push has been on and even though they are close there is that one piece that will break the case wide open for them.
The day after Kylie moves into her new place she is out running, as this is her new life and she can do what she wants to do now. The only problem is that the skies open up with a downpour and by the time she makes it back home she is not only soaked but her shoelace has ended up untying and that that was the one that had the key attached to it. So what is a girl to do with no key, in the pouring rain and soaking wet....nothing else to do but break into your own house. Devlin is just pulling into his driveway when he sees a hooded figure sneaking around the empty house next door. His police senses go on alert and so he grabs his cuffs and heads out to investigate what the person is doing. When he rounds the corner of the house he sees the man halfway in a window with his legs kicking outside still. Devlin grabs hold of the legs and pulls hard....what happens next involves some choice words, a tousle and some cuffs being slapped on wrists. All that before Devlin realizes that the man is actually the most beautiful woman he has ever seen and that she is his new neighbor. Well nobody says the welcome committee can't be a very big, handsome and sexy cop who knows exactly how to use his cuffs.
This is a well written and very entertaining and at times funny short story. You just have to feel for Kylie as she just wants to get as far away from her old life and ends up living right next to the sexiest cop she has ever seen. Leave it to Devlin to end up falling for a woman who is potentially linked to the case he is working. They both have reasons to stay away from each other and yet they just cannot do it. Sometimes true love just wins against all odds. I really enjoyed this story and it is a wonderful addition to the series.

Kylie just wanted to get away from the life she was living, knowing her sister's boyfriend was someone she did not want to be around. Moving into a new house, she was ready to make new life and decided to go out and run. When she returned she realized she lost the house key, so she decided to climb through a window. Devlin was just getting home when he notice someone sneaking around the next door house. When he got to them their legs were hanging out the window, after cuffing the would be burglar Devlin them realized she was his new neighbor.
Kylie and Devlin's tale is a sweet romance, after the mishap of their first meeting they could not help but spend more time together. But what about her past? Will it catch up to her? This fast story is a great read to enjoy and get lost in.

A beautiful end to this series
Kylie moves in next door to Devlin. She decides to take up jogging but it started raining, she lost her house key. So she tries getting in through the bathroom window. Delvin doesn't know he has a new neighbor and tries to arrest her. He then has to apologize after she calms down. They end up working on her house together until one night he's going to have dinner with her. He walks into a situation he never expected when he arrived at her house. Not going to say what happens, don't want to spoil the book. It's soooo good!! Enjoy. Written by Cindy :)

Kylie is starting a new life, having left her old one. As Devlin and Kylie get to know each other her past comes knocking at her door. Literally. When Devlin realizes that Kylie has close ties with the crime family he’s trying to bring down he is furious. Retain a lawyer ,folks. You may need one.

Devlin gets home from work and sees someone trying to break into the house next door. He’s been working long hours so he’s unaware that Kylie has moved in. After pulling her from being stuck in a window he handcuffs her and only then does he realize it’s a woman and not a man. Kylie then starts to feel free and in charge of her life only to have her past come knocking at her door. A fast paced read with an interesting story. The characters were likeable and had a good connection.

Devlin and Kylie meet when he thinks he is sneaking up on a burglar. Shocked when he realizes that it is a woman, Devlin immediately gets off of Kylie, but the damage has been done and he now has a disgruntled neighbor in spite of the spark coming off of them. He makes it up to her, but will their budding relationship come to a stop when Devlin learns that Kylie has a connection to the Dalton Crime Family that he is investigating? You will be glued to this story from the first to the last page.

The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Devlin and Kylie and does not let go. When Devlin sees someone trying to get through the window of the vacant house next door, he automatically goes into "cop mode" and pulls the person to the ground. However, when he actually sees Kylie, he can feel an instant connection. She also feels the connection but is afraid her past will be more than he can understand.

This was the last in the King Cops series and I was sorry to have finished it. There was a little of everything in this book. It seemed from the time the characters interacted they were meant for each other. The story line has great development amongst the characters and the family that the police were chasing down in all five books finds its ending along with the series. It’s a don’t miss finale to the series.

A captivating book five page-turner in the King’s Cops series! The story-line is well written, fast pace, funny, witty, engaging, and well developed. The characters are likeable and real; their chemistry is instant and off the charts. A recommended read!

This book had such a great meet cute with Devlin and Kylie, definitely had me laughing. The characters were fun, yet they also had that serious side where life is not always fair through family loss and crimes that other people commit. I enjoyed the connection and the final outcome for this short story, good ending.

Devlin and Kylie’s story was interesting but it wasn’t the best in the series. I did enjoy their dynamic but felt there could have been just a little more between them.

Listened to Devin and Kylie story of in book 5 of the King's Cop series. It was funny on how they met. Her hanging out in the window of her house and Devin being a cop comes home and sees this an thinks someone is breaking in the house. The sparks start to fly.
I recommend this series.
