Definitely another excellent addition to the series, fun characters and a fun way to be sure. One reviewer seem to think the author had an issue with religion, but I think the reactions were rather natural when fantasy characters with comparatively Godlike powers in a medieval era encounter each other LOL. I didn’t particularly find anything offensive and that wasn’t done in other books or TV shows like Xena. All in all, I had a lot of fun with book for like ahead with books one through three, and now I am curious on what would happen if these characters went into a sci-fi setting. Vur the space ice dragon! Just bring the translation spell this time.
I didn't actively dislike this book, but I doubt I'll read any future installments in this series.
I read for enjoyment and generally don't review books with a critical eye, but I just don't understand the purpose of this book in the series. The characters barely interacted with each other, nothing of consequence is accomplished, and the ending was abrupt and jumbled together.
The best way I can describe this book is as an anime filler episode. If you like the characters and simply want more of the same, you will likely enjoy this book. However, if you are hoping for any progression of the characters or the plot, you will likely be disappointed.
I love how this author can make me laugh and keep reading the entire book. While I sometimes get annoyed at having the perspective shift between characters, I found that the author used this to make a hilarious set of instances that all fall into place. While it may not have the plot an intrigue of some books, I can definitely this book made me laugh the whole way through and if you're thinking you might like this book- do it. Its worth the money 100%
I hope this would be able to give me some much needed laughs.
Sadly this story is about or initiated by the most annoying character in the entire series. The mate thirsty dragoness, who just can't seem to get a man.
I didn't like this as much as the previous books. Not enough of the person who made me love the Series (Vur), and too much of people I literally don't want to know anything about.
The jokes weren't as funny because it didn't include my favourite dragon.
It just... just.... Okay, first of all, Vur is involved, so you know common sense is out the window. But then there are Aztecs. And the Reformation. And wars. And totem spirits. Not tasty ones, but still.... Prika's pretty useless, as to be expected. Actually, Tafel's still the most useful. It's Prika's fault, though.
For fans of Terry Pratchett, this series is a wonderful fantasy series that is mostly humorous but has enough of a plot to be interesting. For this, the fourth volume, Virlyce explores what would happen if Ver, the blue-mage human-dragon, and his entourage come to Earth in 1521. Let's just say that history changes.
Sorry the new setting really didn't work for me, but attempts were made and many solid jokes did occur but the ending was a bit of a mess. I'll keep reading this series because while this book didn't work for me it didn't ruin any of the characters also Virlyce seems to be a bit of an experiemental author which is good just this one didn't work out for me sorry.
What can you say, Strong prickly characters are thrown into a cardboard world, coping with The hardship of boredom and trying just hang on and find their way home. Comedy gold!
The book wasn't as good as the others, but was still pretty good and had lots of humor. This book also seems to have important plot points for future books. Will still keep reading this series.
This has turned out to be a phenomenal series. The first few chapters I was dubious on the new setting, but things got great, quick! I love the concept so much and the execution is tremendous. 👍🏾👍🏾
