This episode is giving us a different vibe and pace than the previous books I had the pleasure to follow. I'm not exactly sure if I liked that, as I got used t the other one. I have a feeling this one was used as a setup for following events in the next episodes, as a well done "bum is always needed in the middle right? And Ms. Loth did that really well!

Kimberly Loth’s Dragon Kings Chronicles with this 14th installment in this serial/series and things are starting to get interesting. Ruby is still intent on her own personal agenda, but she’s willing to string Damon along for the ride if he’ll be assistance and not a hindrance. Isa is still intent on hating Liam, but it’s high time for her to get over herself and let it go. Jens is determined to maintain his hold on the children, but as Sid plans an attack on Isa, Jens finds a way to manipulate Sid to achieve the ultimate goal --- Isa’s demise.
This installment in the series has things gradually getting more interesting. Liam is given the choice of becoming one of Isa’s Guardians. I’m personally against it, because who knows who is really pulling the strings of the Guardians? Pierre says it’s him, but is it really? Grace is mourning the loss of Jude, but the danger tha swirls around them isn’t going to wait for them to be “okay” again. Ruby is literally lying to everyone around her, but don’t worry – there’s a twist in near future as well. Am I wrong when I say I’m pleased with it? LOL!
Now, prepare for a big twist in this book. I did not see that coming, but for a couple of books now I’ve had some suspicions about certain character(s). We’ll just have to see how that all pans out. I’m rating this installment 4.5 out of 5 stars. If you’ve enjoyed the series/serial to this point keep reading.

"War was never a good thing for anyone." So begins the next installment in this saga. Jens is still determined to take the dragon babies and raise them as a "pure" species. But, is this really the right thing to do? He still vows that Dragon races shouldn't mix.
Meanwhile, Sid and Aspen and their friends are trying to deal with their heartache. Could this be the breaking point for their loving relationship? Or, will they be able to overcome their sorrow and keep their race alive?

Grace and Jude are moving ahead with their relationship although Jude is leaving soon for a mission. And, Grace is still trying to hide her wizard background. She still wonders, "Which of her friends would she have to kill?"

Each of these short novellas moves the story along at a fast pace. Be prepared for some humor, some sadness and lots of intrigue. Can't wait to see what our author has in store for us next!

Isa really needs to let up on Liam because he has never once tried to hurt her and he's just telling her the truth. She needs to give Grace a break too because her friends is only looking out for her. Also poor Grace and that big shock at the end of the last book. I also feel for Sid and Aspen because they are going through the most horrible thing a parent will ever go through and it happily not even true. This part of the story makes you feel so many different emotions that are caused nu everything it is hard to know if I love or hate this part because everyone is causing one giant misunderstanding and its leading to so many future mistakes.

Isa isn’t talking to Liam or Grace and Judes revelation about the wizard controlling the guardians sets of a string of events that will change everything.

When things quickly go south for Jens with the dragon babies he has to make a decision and as news of Liams death reaches the rebels Jens tries to figure out a way to get back in with Obsidian, they have a better chance of defeating the Queen working together.

This is Book 12 of a series and not to be reads as a standalone. These are short reads that can be completed over a couple of hours and are action packed from start to finish

Early in the series, Ruby was an endearing character. Now, she seems almost as despicable as Isa. Way too much of the story seems to focus on a first-person perspective of Jens and Seamus: apparently giving voice to evil. This episode is okay as it seems to be setting up conditions for future episodes but nothing particularly positive happened even though some potential tragedies did.

Entertaining. Haunting. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable.

Lots of stubborn, headstrong characters. Tragedy occurs which of course send emotions spiraling out of control. It seems every pair up is being challenged expotentially. Everyone’s motives seem to be lurking in grey areas of right and wrong. A quick, fast paced delve into drama amidst paranormals. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.

Thank you so much to the author for the book!
I received this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this book, it was full of drama and emotions, with some scenes that broke my heart. Several chapters are told from Jens's point of view, which were a little slow and definitely not my favorites, but beyond that this book had several interesting parts. Also, there are some very beautiful romantic scenes that made me sigh with happiness.

On the other hand, it had several shocking revelations and some news that completely shocked me. Discoveries that weren't completely revealed and left me desperate to read the next book to know the truth. This story has very good twists and turns. And a huge cliffhanger, an ending that left me screaming desperate to know what will happen.

So many things are happening in so many places that at times the chaos and agony the characters go through seems to be to much but they get through it. It is such a mix of emotions as things become tense on all fronts

◦ I've received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ◦

As always, Grace is my favorite character and I am so happy to see that she and Jude finally took the big step. She was sooooo sweet during their intimate moment. The moment between them wasn’t explicit but what you get, the glimpse of their romance is just perfect because she’s so innocent and so pure it's impossible NOT to love her.

However, I’m not a big fan of Ruby, while she let her guard down once in a while and had sweet moments with Damon at the same time she still makes everything all about her and how she doesn’t want to let him kiss her but in the same time, she gives him fake hopes. Sometimes she makes me feel like she’s very shallow and her pure interest is only what she needs and wants. While I understand she tries to be near Damon I don’t agree with the way she makes things giving Damon fake hopes they are or might be together, when she doesn’t even want that. My heart really broke for Damon because he was so devastated by losing his friend, his pain is really so strong and that makes me hate Ruby even more because she doesn’t know how to make her limits known without sounding shallow.

I felt that this book was like a breaking point in The Dragon Kings Chronicles series, everything went from bad to worst in a matter of minutes. Liam’s parents are fighting and there’s no saying if they’ll remain or not together, Ruby and Damon are not ending up well and Grace .. her life will be forever changed. The end of the book leaves you gasping in horror because you don’t want it to be true, but sadly.. there’s no going back.
