This book was an awesome follow up to Pretty Monsters. It is dark and twisty, but sexy and fun. I loved getting to revisit a lot of the characters we meet in the first book, a random group of friends, that are just the right people to help Sin, Raven, and Lucien in the crazy mafia type world they come from. Each character in this book has pulled themselves out of difficult backgrounds, and even though the circumstances they found themselves in seemed far-fetched, it felt completely real and believable at the same time.
I absolutely love Raven and Sin together, they are both broken but beautiful. Their lives are tied together in so many ways, and their devotion to each other is swoony.
If you like your romance a little on the dark side, this is definitely one you should read. Make sure you start with Pretty Monsters, because this picks up right where that one left off. And the ending of Perfect Sin?!!! I am soo anxious to read the 3rd book and see how everything plays out.

Thrilling, suspenseful and all around amazing! Just like the first book in the series, I couldn't read fast enough. Also like the first book, I cannot wait to see what happens next for Sin, Raven and the crew.

“If he is a monster, then I’ll happily follow him down the path of darkness. There’s no light for me without him anyway.”

I’m about to spill some tea from Pretty Monsters, so if you haven’t read it yet, abort mission now because there are MAJOR spoilers ahead from the end of that book.

We ended Pretty Monsters finding out that Sin is actually the son of the current governor and he and Raven were secretly married before everything went to hell. Sin gets traded back to the governor in exchange for Raven’s father, Damien, getting her back. Damien is thrilled that Raven and Sin are married but Sin’s father, Arthur is not at all happy about it and vows to have the marriage annulled. You can guess where this is going right? A large portion of the book is spent with Arthur trying to tear them apart and Damien helping to keep them together, with a lot of other shit going down as well, but all of that is spoilery, so I can’t say anything else.

I read a LOT. And it takes a lot for characters to take up residence in my head and not go away, but that’s what has happened with this book and the previous one Pretty Monsters. I didn’t want to stop reading because I HAD to know what was going to happen next. Seriously, these characters are living rent free in my head right now, and who knows how long they’re going to stay there.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a book give me so much emotional whiplash as this one did. From getting mad and upset with some of the characters, to having anxiety about what was happening and what was going to happen next. Not to mention loving a character at the beginning of the book to loathing them at the end or vice versa. Also I hated that Arthur was doing everything possible to separate Raven and Sin and I loved that Damien was helping them to stay together, even if it was for selfish reasons. Don’t worry that liking toward Damien was short lived but congrats Kimberly Carrillo on making me having a momentary existential crisis. As much as my emotions and psyche has been through the ringer, I can’t wait for the next book!

“Vows we shared in secret may come back to be more prophesy than promise, because I’ll destroy anything that tries to keep me from her.”

"Daddy Issues"
Perfect Sin is book two in Kimberly Carrillo’s Pretty Monsters Trilogy. We find our hero and heroine, Sin and Raven, still fighting evil and to stay together, only now they are married!
A big part of this installment focuses on the character development of the protagonists. Kudos to Ms. Carrillo for giving it time to breathe. Sin and Raven are now in college and learning who they are but they’re also learning how to be in a relationship together. And many of us know, that is no easy feat. Sin is a bona fide genius and Raven is no slouch either. Homegirl has some tricks up her sleeves too! In the middle of it all, they are also navigating campus gossip, new threats and old, and revelations from their pasts. I’ll admit, the character development does slow the narrative down a bit. It took me a little longer to read than the first book. But it is 100% necessary because so much is revealed and is relevant to the story unfolding. And there’s A LOT of sex between the newlyweds. At this point though, I was more intrigued by the plot.

We learn who Sin’s father and mother are, but as in the first book, things aren’t always as they seem. We also learn more about Raven’s mother (BIG surprise coming your way with that one). Just like Damien Blackthorne, Raven’s father, Daddy Sin has his own agenda.
Daddy Blackthorne is also seeing his daughter in a new light and plans to use it to his advantage. When I say these men are the cream of the crap crop, it’s no lie. These daddies are doing dirt and they’re digging big ol’ holes! As Ms. Carrillo aptly put it, they are both “self-serving a**holes. The plot twist involving Blackthorne is just indescribable. The dude needs to have his stick and berries removed. STAT! I think this animal jumped to the top five on my villain list.

About 85% into the book, the action picks up again. There are so many players in the game, that it’s incredibly difficult to tell who’s on Sin and Raven’s side. I am loving the members of their found family, though. Ford (book boyfriend alert!), Ted (just wow!), Shane, Jen, and Amber are a loyal bunch, and they are integral in helping the couple (and Lucien) fight the hidden dangers and solve the mounting mysteries.

Then there’s the cliffhanger. DID. NOT. SEE. THAT. COMING! Cue the jaw drop. It had me adding the trilogy finale, Peaceful Chaos to my Kindle before I even finished the book.

Perfect Sin is captivating and cleverly calculated. Another prime piece of work by Kimberly Carrillo.

Read if you’re down with:
*Plot Twists
*Daddies Doing Dirt
*Found Family
*Lots of Newlywed Sex
*One Hell of a Cliffhanger

Right, let's get this out of the way... I am hereby profusely apologizing for that cliffhanger! If you've read the book, you know what I'm talking about... if you still have to read it - I am so so sorry.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think that Kimberly Carrillo would listen to my ramblings and decide to change her plot! I was just telling her what I thought of *Spoiler*...

Speaking of wildest dreams... that's exactly what Sin is! Damn I love this man so much! I get irrationally jealous of Raven and if she was real, I would have killed her so I could have Sin baby for myself!

That's another thing! While reading the first book, I kept thinking that this can't be real life. Everything that happens to this group of friends is bordering on far fetched. You think it was bad in Pretty Monsters? Things just gets weirder in this book!

I think I was able to predict one thing right. Everything else walked straight up to me and slapped me in the face! The "WTF did I just read" moments came flying at me and all I could do was try and dodge them. I few hit me in the feels... HARD! I'm still bleeding!

I got so paranoid that I didn't trust any of the new characters... and none of the old ones! You just don't know who to trust!

I wish I could climb into Kim's head so I could see how her mind works but I will need a flashlight light cos her mind is a dark dark place!

Oh, I just remembered that I can't kill Raven because I feel so sorry for her. That girl has been through hell and she came out on the other side... a little unhinged but not completely broken!

My favorite quote in the books is: "I might be a basket case, but at least I’m an entertaining one." I'm so getting it printed on a T-shirt!

Perfect Sin fucked with my mind but I forgave Kim because this Thirsty Bitch was mentioned in the dedication! And I'm saying this again... Kimberly Carrillo you better finish Peaceful Chaos because I need my Sin fix! I can't go a day without my Sin baby!

So what are y'all waiting for? Go buy this book RIGHT NOW so we can try and figure this out together because I don't like where my thoughts are going. It can't be true! It just can't!

Just like the first book I couldn't stop reading... We find out who Sin's parents are at the end of the first one but in this one we find out how he ended up with Damien.. Raven keeping the secret from her past from Sin annoyed me a little considering everything they already had going on with Damien trying to sale Raven and Sin's parent trying to split them up, when she got that first text she should have told him...She did make up for it by taking care of her past even though Sin and Lucien doubted her.. I get Sin wanting to be overprotective of Raven because she was the first good thing in his life but he always gave her shit for anything she wanted to do(I get it though) We get so much character development from Sin in this one which I didn't mind reading considering everything he has been through.. Things are starting to take a toll on Raven but she tries to do the best she can to hold it together to take Damien down.. I love that her and Sin made a deal to go to therapy to deal with all the trauma they both been through and we meet Lucien and Raven's bio mom and just like Sin Lucien and Raven he's done damage to her life too.. Once again the plot twist at the end was everything and had me ready to read the next one

Perfect Sin Book 2

This one is even better then the first one and I feel like each book in this series gets better and better. I hope that she continues this series. I want to see POV of everyone in this group. There dynamics are amazing and they work so well together! This book is definitely a lot more spicer then the first. The plot and story line are well put together and established very early and of course always a twist that she carry’s out so well. I just can’t not 😭 will they get a chance to breathe and enjoy being regular people? Ravens dad is a crime lord trying to become governor and has everyone in his pocket. I’m assuming if you read book one you saw the twist that Sins Dad is the current governor who is straight laced and you see that in this book. But will be more then what he says or is he corrupted as the rest and will end it all for Ravens dad? I guess I gotta read book 3! Happy Reading my loves !

This is book 2, out of a 3 book series. All books need to be read in order for the story to make sense. This book picks up immediately after the dramatic cliffhanger of book 1, revealing who Sin's parents really are. In this book, Sin and Raven don't know who to fully trust. Damian is playing nice, but what is his plan really? On the other hand, Arthur the govenor, is doing everything in his power to keep Sin and Raven apart. There's always threats coming from Sin and Raven at all sides. Now they are committed so they can't buckle under the pressure. Sin and Raven just fit together. Their friends along with Raven's brother continue to support them. Raven got a unexpected surprise concerning her parentage too. There's another cliffhanger going into the last book. I'm not sure what to expect in the last book, but I'm here for it! This series keeps me hooked and wanting to read more. No one could ever say this is a slow paced series.

Sin & Raven story still continues and its is getting DARKER !! I love it. I will try and not to spoil too much but, I will say things get more complicated.

Raven and Sin are still extremely in love. Their thirst for murder is still going strong, yes they are made for each other. Am waiting for her brother Luc to get a love interest. The action scenes I love especially the knife scene with Raven. Nope I won't tell you what happened in that scene but, don't mess with Raven

I love everyone especially there group of friends. The villain I truely hate and he is truely a snake. There has been a few surprises that changes everything

THE ENDING AND ONE OF MY FAVOURITE CHARACTERS BROKE MY HEART. Stab me in the heart Kimberly 😈 you devil writer you 😆

Perfect Sin is the second book in Raven & Sin's journey, and it's not a standalone so YOU MUST READ Pretty Monsters (Book 1) FIRST! I'm going to keep this review so very vague because there's just so much going on here that I promise it's more fun to go in blindly. Raven's father has her again so Sin must make a deal with the devil, and doesn't that just sound so deliciously suspenseful?! Trust me it is as this story isn't slow so I found myself on the edge of my seat with heart racing & f-bombs dropping from all the twists and turns coming in hot. It all leads to another cliffy (it is a trilogy), and since I had both the first two books at the same time, there wasn't a wait but now all bets are off. I'm dying inside for what I suspect will be an explosive conclusion, and I'll end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING TO ALL!

This is the second book in this series by this author and this story continues Raven and Sin's story. This book is much darker than the first one. It is a fast paced edge of your seats read from start to finish. This book is raw, gritty, intense and intriguing from the start. This story is filled with emotions and secrets. This book can not be read as a stand alone read you must read Pretty Monsters first. This book leaves you wanting and needing more. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I was given an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my honest review

With book 1 ending on a cliffhanger, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I wasn’t disappointed! The plot continues being well written and developed with characters you love to love and love to hate. Again I continue to love all the characters despite their flaws. This book is also filled with twist and turns you didn’t see coming. Sin and Raven’s chemistry is flaming hot causing my phone to melt. I love Lucien as well despite his flaws. I really want to read his story! I love it when a book is full of action and unpredictable. Rollercoaster of emotions which makes this trilogy worth reading. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait for book 3 to see how it all ends. Will some characters redeem themselves? Will Sin, Raven, Lucien, Ford, Teddy, Shane, Jen, and Amber survive? Fingers crossed book 3 will be as explosive as the others.

Perfect Sin by Kimberly Carrillo is a dark romantic suspense that I listened to on audio narrated by Nathaniel Gray and Phillipa Miller. This is the second book in the Pretty Monsters Trilogy.

I am really enjoying the relationship between Sin and Raven. It's extremely messy but I can't help root for them. I loved getting both of their points of views throughout the book.

The book ended on another great cliffhanger. I can't wait to dive into the next book in the series Peaceful Chaos to see how their story will end.

Nathaniel and Phillipa did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you're looking for a romantic suspense.

This audiobook, narrated by Nathaniel Gray and Phillipa Miller, unfolds with gripping intensity. This dark romance, featuring Sin and Raven, plunges into a world where love battles against insurmountable odds. Sin, once a mere pawn in a deadly game, finds his everything in Raven, challenging his past and threatening their future. Gray's deep tones perfectly capture Sin's turmoil, while Miller's nuanced portrayal of Raven adds layers of vulnerability and strength. Their combined performances enrich the story, making the characters' desperate fight for love not just heard but felt. The story weaves a compelling tale of redemption, sacrifice, and the unyielding power of love, making it an unforgettable auditory experience.

“If he is a monster, then I’ll happily follow him down the path to darkness.”
—Raven, of ‘Sin’.

Book 1 wholly sucked me into this world and book 2 is no less drama-packed than its predecessor. It’s fast-paced, so much that I had to listen twice! And this was no hardship, as this book is gold. I’ll just be over here absolutely dying for book 3.

If you haven’t read or listened to Pretty Monsters then you’ll want to start there and go ahead and get this one and Peaceful Chaos because you’re going to need all of the details. Sin, Raven and their friends have endured more than anyone could expect them to before the end of this book. My friend and I had started the series around the same time but she got ahead of me! I got the text, “have you finished “Perfect Sin” I think I know and wanted to see if you thought the same thing.” When I caught up I didn’t stop listening, I went right into Peaceful Chaos and my response was “I think I know what you were talking about, I agree and I’m glad we were right!.” I didn’t have time to stop listening to discuss it. I was way too invested!

This is the 2nd book in this amazing trilogy, and this story continues from where #1 ended. Raven is back in her father’s clutches, and to rescue and save her Sin needs to make a deal with the devil. No spoilers: this is a must-read trilogy for all dark and unpredictable storyline lovers. This is a well written tale which is dark, raw, gritty, intense, intriguing, thrilling, and with secrets, emotions, and an intricate and unpredictable plot. I was enthralled throughout this awesome novel, and I look forward to reading the 3rd and conclusion of Sin and Raven’s journey. I highly recommend this talented authors’ work.

I'm not sure if I just wasn't in the right head space for this story or if I just didn't love it like I did the first. It felt really long and drawn out and like a filler story in the trilogy. That being said, I did still enjoy it and I found the action parts of the story great. And the last half an hour grabbed my attention and with that wicked cliffhanger, I'll certainly be picking up book three.

The audio was really well done. Nathaniel Gray and Phillipa Miller were absolutely fantastic and I really enjoyed listening to them narrate this story. I'll definitely be looking for more from them in the future.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is the second book in the series and you must first have read Pretty Monsters. That will give you the start of dark love story between Raven and Sin. This book picks up right where the first left off. It has plenty of danger, twists and turns, suspense, lust and their own brand of love. Their story is intense, fast paced and gritty.

Exciting addition!

The second book of this thrilling romance continues with more than I expected. Raven and Sin journey is far from over with so much action, danger and heat level that surrounds their group of friends. The twist and suspense will have you flipping the pages until the end that will have you craving for more of the well written storyline and a love story worth waiting for a HEA. I can’t wait to read the conclusion in this exciting trilogy that doesn’t disappoint!

Story definitely picked up with this book. Also, glad that Sin and Raven hit more rocky times. Since you know messy love is always addicting as the reader. I enjoyed how everyone in the found family of this story had a role to play. And they all loved eachother so much. Story moved quickly, I wish occasionally we could have spent more time on character dynamics and heartfelt moments, but didn't seem that was appropriate for the context of this book. "We need to learn to bend before we break, but hell if I know how we get there" Definitely enjoyed it.

It’s okay if we break, as long as we break together.

Book two of the Pretty Monster's Trilogy. Picks up where book one left off. This was a lot of back and forth. Sim learns who is parents really are and Arthur Whitmore is the rival for Damien. There was a lot of back and forth in this book. A lot of betrayal and Lies. One constant is the Love Raven and Sin have.

I love how possessive Sin is and how bada00 Raven is. This does end with no resolution and continues in the last book of the series.

Wow this crazy ride gets crazier. I never knew what was going to happen next because crazy twists and turns are rampant in this trilogy. Sin and Raven and all their friends have a huge minefield to navigate and shockers come out of nowhere. That ending! Yet again left with questions and on edge of seat with anticipation...I have an idea of what may be happening and that all isn't as it seems!! Cannot wait for the final book to come to audio so I can find out if I'm right! And jeeze how much more can these people possibly have to endure? Narrators bring this crazy ride to life.

Wow, way to give us that second book!! This will be brief, I can’t get into the plot. You have to read book 1 first, Pretty Monsters. There is suspense and mystery around every corner for Sin and Raven. These two!! OMG the things they’re going through! The twists and turns they’re facing throughout this book is so intense. I can’t recommend this book, this series, more than ever. You need to start with book one, make it happen!

Ends where book one finishes with Sin being exchanged back to his father for the return of Raven.
While Damien is happy about the marriage, Arthur isn’t and the war begins to tear them apart by one and keep them together by another.
The only way for Sin to help Raven is to make a deal with the devil, the devil they are trying to take down. While deals are being made it’s hard to know who to trust, or even if they will survive.
Can’t wait to see how it ends in the next book.

What the heck did I just read?!? This installment picks up right after the ending of the first book and the wild ride continues. Who do they trust? Who can they trust? No one is safe from either family and the stakes are getting higher. I am anxiously waiting as well as dreading the final book in the trilogy.

Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done

Okay, I did not realize this was a trilogy and that this book ended in a freakin' cliffy!! Argh.

Book 2 develops into more twists and turns for Sin and Raven. So much intrigue with each turn of the page. Great story line continues and the character development is spot on for me. I'm dying, DYING, to see the Ted/Lucien/Amber story. Dying.
