I liked it!
First I thought this was going to be BAD. The first chapters were the classic trashy toxic romance.
By chapter 40 I finally understood the potential of the story... And by Chapter 59 I was just salivating with the amazing groveling on page and to come.
The villain falling in love and the shy insipid guy growing a spine and personality. 👌🏼
The way the power imbalance evolved and shifted was as great as watching Yu taking control of his own personal agency and voice.
Some parts were ridiculous, others were brilliant! It surely was FUN.
Will come back to read the ending.

You don't have to break my heart over and over again, author. This one is just too sad and violent. But this freak reader loves it so much inspite of all those disturbing scenes and arrogant characters. Thanks for making me cry for every chapter.. keep continuing. *Ongoing

The first half of the novel, I was like... is everyone stuck on stupid? Then the last 30%, turns palpable. Like the author improved his/her skill as he/she composes the story.

The first 70% of the novel is blatantly abusive. Pretty excessive and most of the time, the punishments of the MC is stupidly unfair. It's like the ML is blind or something. He kept misunderstanding the MC without giving him a single chance of explaining himself even though he knows well that the MC is mute. He treats the MC like a sex toy and then stomps him in the mud when he is tired of his pretty toy. I don't understand the love the MC has for the ML at all. ML is a total jerk, selfish and egoistic to the max! Then again, perhaps the MC is a masochist.

Said masochist MC somehow grew a backbone and things turn somewhat pleasant. I am not going to lie that I did not enjoy the retribution chapters in the last 30% of the story. The ML spine got stolen by the MC, and he became a slave to his Queen. Seeing him grovelling is so satisfying.

Another thing I didn't get is how on earth does the MC thinks that he could fake being a woman when his husband beds him every single night? Which hole does he think his husband is poking? Naivety has to have a limit, or it is equivalent to being an idiot.

This story is a very tall tale. It does not even need to try to compete for the title of being the tallest tale. Oddly, I did somewhat enjoy the last 30% of the novel with the MC being more clear-headed and then pregnant with the ML hovering like a mother hen.

I love stories that make me angry. I love when the mc gets abused by the love interest based off of a miss understanding and then it’s cleared and the love interest is so distraught. So upset. They get maybe try to sewer slide. Or just. Grovel so deeply to the mc. And the only reason I keep reading this is because I hope I can see it. I am so angry. The fact the mc cannot speak (he’s mute) is so frustrating because it’s easier to ignore him. Easier to not listen to him. When someone is yelling at you. You have no choice but to hear a little. But if you take away the mc’s paper. Don’t look at him. He cannot speak. And I think that both adds to the story and also makes me much more angry because the love interest isn’t listening. He’s dumb and stupid and I want to see him grovel. Ok this has been grovel hour. Retweet for more groveling. Bye bye.

I DON'T read or watch dramas, the dramas mean every aspect of 'drama'.
The lonely, naive and despairing main character experiences every bad, heartsore and almost impossible situation, and is surrounded by outrageous people who are nothing but an enemy.
That takes thousands of episodes... That lasts forever...

So I didn't know this was exactly like that.

I thought it was a Yaoi romance with a cold-hearted prince Xuanxiao, and an innocent mute slave Yu.

Turns out the prince is a cruel douchebag who abuses him, takes advantage of him and uses as his pawn, and (of course) never stops behaving badly until it's too late.
And I will definitely not fall for just bc he takes care only when he gets sick.

My poor, beautiful boy.


I may have cried and it's nothing to do with my just-ended period or the flu fever I had.

After Yu (and I) had enough he started to stand on his own ground and every time despite his weakness and misfortune, he tried to be strong and I was like ‧º·(˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )‧º·˚ ɢᴏ ʙᴀʙʏ.

The reason I'm more angry than sad is the things he went through and all motherfuckers treated him inhumanly WHO THE HELL CAN STAND THIS AND WON'T GET MAD FFS!



Anyway the story is still ongoing, and becoming something reversed roles n Yu having his revenge without noticing, and I ENJOY every fucking second of Xuanxiao's desperate effort to win his heart back.

I HOPE they WON'T end up together but it would be a miracle. Yu deserves so much better but if they will be then I really really really need to see Xuanxiao suffer.

There are some ridiculously illogical situations and mpreg is on the way... just...

Why the fuck I'm so emotional can't even...

I may change my rating once it's completed and fully read.

Well I won't be reading it. Probably they are together now. Changing my rating from 3 to 2 stars.

This read like a weirdly stereotypical heterosexual romance novel written by someone who put zero effort into considering the setting outside of visuals. It started off brutal but eventually started getting more and more nonsensical the farther I read....I already spewed all my complaints to friends in private so I'll leave it at that for this review.

Наш главный герой - жертва домашнего насилия, проживший полгода в токсичных отношениях. Жалко его, т.к. будучи впервые влюблённым, он смотрел практически на всё сквозь розовые очки и в тот период запечатлел в памяти образ заботящегося о нём мужа. В последствии он разочаровался в партнёре, но в глубине души помнил те чудные мгновенья их времяпрепровождения и продолжал любить. Но мне очень хотелось, чтобы автор оставила парнишу в покое и дала наконец нормальную жизнь, где нет этого тирана.

Что касается тирана... принц севера, а потом уже и король никогда не заботился о других. Он вёл себя как хотел и никто его не останавливал. Варвар, абьюзер, убивающий направо и налево. Сколько он вреда и ужаса принёс нашему герою по пальцам не пересчитать.

Когда пришла арка с искуплением, я была скептически настроена, но всё же решила дать шанс. Честно, не верю что ТАКОЙ характер можно исправить. После внутренних потрясений и осознания, что он сам довел ситуацию до такого он по прежнему продолжал вести себя одержимо, кидаться на других. Преследовал, сталкерил, взгляда не отрывал.

Мне жалко нашего героя. Он решил сбежать от тирана далеко в изолированное место, где его точно не должно быть, но увы, тот пришёл за ним следом. Под другим обличьем, но всё же он. И наш герой постепенно будет влюбляться в своего нового телохранителя, который по итогу окажется тем же королем. Именно в данной арке я увидела, что гг - жертва абьюза. В том плане, что он сам того не осознавая, тянулся к жестокому телохранителю. Это напоминает ситуации, когда девушки сбегая от насильников, вновь и вновь находят себе таких же парней. Это не тот хэ, которого заслуживает герой.

Было много ляпов в сюжете, но на это уже всё равно.

Для меня читать такое это чистой воды мазохизм. В манхве события быстрее разворачиваются и некоторые фрагменты вырезаны, из-за чего возможно можно поверить в искупление тирана и их хэ, но если брать новеллу - то категорично нет.

I really liked this story! Had a kind of Painter of the Night vibe to it in the beginning, and then it takes many turns I didn’t expect.

SPOILERS:

I am not a fan of mpreg, and this kind of came out of nowhere in the manhua, but I didn’t hate it here. Plus, not much is shown.

This story feels like it can be broken down into phases:

1 - ML becomes concubine, gets abused and falls in love with MC, and contends with the jealous wife and emperors plottings

2 - ML and MC’s misunderstandings build, ML grows a back bone and starts to break away from MC’s abuse

3 - ML is kidnapped by emperor and searches for his mother.

4 - MC and emperor fight for affections of ML, ML tells them both to f themselves and goes off with his Chu family

5 - MC follows ML with a mask, pretending to be a body guard as Chu brother tries to get with ML

6 - MC keeps protecting ML and makes up for his past mistakes

7 - ML realizes his body guards identity and after some grovelling they get back together

8 - ML (for some reason) takes mpreg elixir and after a short time they have a baby

9 - time jump and the baby is grown up and baby and the adoptive child of side characters seem to be getting steamy

- I stopped at this point (Chapter 144) and will pick it up again soon. I like it, but the main story is over with now, and it does end weirdly abruptly.

I wonder how different the novel is? I might read.

But as it stands, I liked this, it made me cry at the beginning and anything that can cause me to have such strong emotions deserves a good rating.

Este libro me hizo llorar, reír y enojarme. Sobre todo enojarme.

Durante toda la primera mitad del libro la historia se centra en la relación de los protagonistas, que debo decir, es una de las menos saludables que he leído, y he leído varias así. Uno de los protagonistas maltrata a otro e intenta hacerlo pasar por amor, mientras que el otro, que no conoce nada mejor, lo acepta con resignación.

Sin embargo, de ante mano había recibido las advertencias sobre esta historia, por lo que venía en gran parte preparada y continué con la lectura.

Para la segunda mitad, el co-protagonista finalmente tiene su arco de redención, y si bien eso no me hizo amarlo y olvidar de pronto todos sus errores, da algo de lástima y termina por convencerte. Aunque, la dinámica de la relación cambia por completo, lo que actúa como un punto a su favor.

En cuanto a la pareja secundaria, fue divertida de leer, en algunos momentos se sentía un poco forzada, pero finalmente resultó bien. Las tramas políticas no se toman mucho en cuenta a menos que influyan directamente en el romance como elemento de drama, pero los pocos vistazos que se tienen son interesantes y uno que otro giro de trama también fue bastante inesperado.

Y luego está el final, bastante dulce y feliz, pero termina demasido abruptamente. Fuera de todo eso, la novela es entretenida y una buena lectura para pasar el rato, con drama y lágrimas incluidas.

This was actually a really good manga, the relationship between the characters was very complicated, but enjoyable. Of course in the beginning, Jun Xuanxiao was treating Shen Yu terribly, it was hard to read because the dominance from one side and the fear from the other was just radiating so much. But later, when Shen Yu got pissed, he became independent, grew some balls, gained such a badass atitude and didnt forgive Jun Xuanxiao. It was so unlike other ancient chinese gay couples, like, we always love when the bottom controls the top:)).
Jun Xuanxiao, when he almost lost Shen Yu realized that he was in love and was as desperate as a puppy to make Shen Yu love him again. It was really fun to watch him humiliate himself for this obsession. There were so many funny scenes and quite a few spicy ones, unfortunately nothing explicit but still, a work of art, I really liked it, but I couldn't give 5 stars only because of season 2 (well, also for the male pregnancy because it gave omegavers vibes). It's literally their's and the side couples child just repeating their parents mistakes, the bottom is being treated terribly, it seems like everything is repeating itself but without the good parts and theres nothing unique, that's why I'm disappointed but it's not over and I'm still waiting for an update but I can't give 5 stars yet, maybe I will change my mind later.

Juro que a esta novela termine por odiarla!!! Jamás leí tanda toxicidad junta entre los dos personajes principales... la parte final fue definitivamente forzada....

Como hubiera quedado mejor ( según yo)......

Que el shou si hubiera muerto y que el Gong terminará sus días lamentando la pérdida, cambiando su forma de ser, intentando componer lo que hizo mal, pero no, se metió en la trama un viaje donde el loco del rey se hace pasar por un guardia para cuidar del otro y así redimirse y luego esa dichosa pastilla jajaja que salio de la nada!!! la razón por la que termine la novela, fue porque quería saber que pasaba con la pareja secundaria y gracias Dios!!! que si tuvo su buen final.

Los extras no aportan nada y termino cayendome mal el shou jajaja, ya dije todo, espero no trasmigrar en esta novela jajaja

Jajajjaa ya me rendí con este libro, le daría 1 estrella, pero me gustó el inicio.

Sólo terminé el primer libro. Empezó bien, tenía una trama entretenida y con buena cantidad de drama, tal vez incluso más que el gusto general, pero me gusta sufrir. Sin embargo, no hubo desarrollo de personajes, ya sólo había conflictos porque sí y el prota terminaba sufriendo a lo menso. Además comenzaron a usar el cliché del BL en que todas las mujeres quieren robarse el interés amoroso del prota y por eso lo odian.

Quería terminarlo porque me estaba gustando, pero por más que intento regresar menos me gusta. Creo que me estaba limitando a leer más danmei porque quería acabarlo, entonces mejor ya lo doy por terminado. Espero algún día regresar a leerlo, pero mientras nop 😶

2.5 es la calificación que le doy pero no se si el 3.

En primer lugar está historia es tan toxica que toda la primera mitad del libro tenia corajes y que yu tenga esa idea de que a metrata mal pero, me gusta. Pasa de abusos humillaciones...

Para que al final me digan que ese sujeto el general trataba así a Yu por una situación umportante que no diré que, pero AAAAAAHHH!!

Ame a la pareja secundaria que me hubiera gustado que contarán más de su historia, fue muy poco de esos dos.

Pero siento que al final cumplió con segarme para estar feliz con el final y no pensar en ese momento todas las injusticias que paso Yu.

Termine aqui por culpa del Manhua.

Y esos extras... Li Qing y Kiryu... ahora necesito saber mas de ellos

Personally, I do not recommend this book. It's like Stockholm syndrome and it's really frustrating the fact of this kind of romance. I give two stars due to the efforts of the writer to write this and for secondary couple which one thousand better than the main couple.

For me, abuse and love are not the same so if you like this kind of book you can go ahead and read it. If not, please, do not read this unless you're like me and want to finish it although you will get mad

I'm on the fence...do I like the story? Or do I not?
This was one of the first manga/webtoons I started reading, so I was hooked, but as I read more, I found myself less and less drawn to this story. It's not terrible but how in the heck did he think the man he married wouldn't already know he's a guy? And for the time period, the violence and male supremacism makes sense, but for me right now, this will be a story I try to read again in the future.

HORRIBLE DE PRINCIPIO A FIN. Sin lugar a dudas es el peor danmei que he leído. Violación, abuso, suicidio y un largo etcétera de cosas que no se están manejando bien. Al final, quiere redimir al personaje y lo hace mal. He tardado un mes en leerlo porque no podía más. ¿Lo peor? Que tengo el primer tomo del manga y ahora voy a tener que deshacerme de él porque me niego a ver en imágenes el horror que se vive en este libro.
