“Revenge, the sweetest morsel to the mouth that ever was cooked in hell.”
― Walter Scott, The Heart of Mid-Lothian
Emilia has a very dark hobby - she’s learning how to get away with murder. Primary schoolteacher by day - killer by night!
Just one fateful night changed Emilia’s life forever. After being abducted, she was gang raped and beaten to within an inch of her life by seven individuals. The violence that she was subjected to (both physical and sexual) was simply horrifying, and furthermore, her attackers filmed her ordeal and posted it live on the Dark Web. The perpetrators threatened to hurt her family and friends, unless she kept quiet, so she told everyone that she’d been the victim of a hit and run. Her ordeal doesn’t end there though, the physical scars may heal eventually, but the mental scars run very deep. She’s finding it difficult to cope until she decides to exact revenge on the seven individuals and make them pay for what they did to her that night.
The Kill List ventures into insanely dark and disturbing territory, the stuff of nightmares, and describes horrific violence, (not for the faint hearted) but does it make for a gripping read? Most certainly.
The level of research required, into the vile workings of the Dark Web, and the ‘commodities’ on offer, together with studying various methods of murder, to present this tale of revenge, must have kept the author up at night! Nevertheless, it’s a gripping read - and I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Emilia!
