Reflections on the wonder of EasterSuffering & Glory recovers some of the best Holy Week and Easter articles from half a century of Christianity Today. Guiding readers from Palm Sunday to Pentecost and including contributions from Tish Harrison Warren, J. I. Packer, Nancy Guthrie, and Eugene Peterson, Suffering & Glory will remind readers of the beauty of Christ's death and resurrection.
I really appreciated this collection of devotions regarding Holy Week, Easter, and the weeks leading up to Pentecost. Especially following Easter, it was so encouraging to have weekly reminders of what was accomplished on the cross and with the empty tomb. It really helped continuously center my heart on what Easter is about and not to get too caught up in the festivities of the day itself.
This book felt like walking slowly through Holy Week with wise guides beside me. Each reflection was simple, grounded, and quietly powerful. It didn’t rush me to Easter, it let me sit with the weight of the cross first.
Beautiful, steady, and deeply reverent. A small book that carries a lot of meaning.
