Spice was mild honestly. So my issue is with Merideth. She comes back into Connor's life after three years basically and automatically just jumps right into bed. Cool things happen, you two still have whatever connection. My issue comes when Connor asks her anything having to do with in depth conversation about what she has been up to, who people are etc, she brushes it off or lies. I don't deal with liars personally so her lying to his face about who Ken is and calling a scene at a BDSM Club a business meeting was a nope for me. Her lying caused Connor to lose his temper and she went off and let herself become so drunk she falls into a bad situation. Mind you the situation could have been worse but it was actually avoidable if she was honest from the beginning.

Spice 🌶️🌶️
M/F, sex club, exhibitionism, Dom/sub.

No real fluid storyline line, it’s almost as if this prequel was written half heartedly after the series had been written and felt rushed.
Connor and Meredith had a summer fling when he was 18 and she took his virginity. Some years later, they are back after both finishing college? And meet again and have sex straight away - no foreplay or lead into it.
Meredith clearly mentions that she is submissive and enjoys scenes and Connor is so sex drunk (even before having sex) and ignores this. She tries to tell him multiple times about her preferences but he ignores it.
He then gets mad at her for doing what she needs at a sex club in a safe and controlled environment.

The sex trafficking just seemed a bit much to push them back together after their fight.

Apart from the very poorly written scene at the club, there’s no other dom/sub play in the book

Teach me... to find a way

Sweet little book with him newly reunited with his first. The one that got away but came back with a passion. Shes a treasure and he's willing to open her every day.
I'm glad I read this as it was just what I needed to sweep the other books outta the way. Loved it

Both people had underdeveloped viewpoints in this story. This saying applies to both, “if someone tells you who they are, believe them”. Connor’s over the top anger was very misplaced, since Meredith had already mentioned the lifestyle exploration in which she participated. Then, he eavesdropped on her conversation and knew where she was headed. Then, for Meredith to be so devastated by Connor’s anger was just ridiculous. Come On! If you are going to make the radical choice as she did, then be strong enough to stand up to the backlash, when it comes. And, it will come!

While, I thought this was well enough written, I do not agree with the lifestyle. On the surface this was okay, but I really could not enjoy it as I am probably considered very prudish!

DNF due to utter lack of description. I got 50% finished and still had NO idea what the male lead looked like. Just horny nonsense.

Little to no plot but I guess that is a possibility in a novella. A little too much descriptive smut.

It has an intriguing premise, but it falls short in execution. The relationship between the characters feels rushed, and the plot lacks depth, making it difficult to connect with the story. Some scenes are engaging, but overall, the writing feels inconsistent and the character development is shallow. Unfortunately, I won’t be continuing with the rest of the series.

Good set up/idea for a book. Big twist that didn’t actually progress much of the story. Execution lacking.
