Green Fraud: Why the Green New Deal Is Even Worse than You Think

Rate this book
Marc Morano’s analysis of the proposed Green New Deal is eye-opening and damning. In his new book, Green Why The New Green Deal Is The Wrong Solution To The Wrong Problem, Morano exposes the program as a far-left agenda filled with progressive policies disguised as a way to save the planet.

No matter what the environmental scare-of-the-day may be, Morano says, the same solution is always proposed -- and that solution should scare us. Morano clearly shows how the Green New Deal will lay a path for “global governance,” resulting in less freedom, less sovereignty, massive government bureaucracy, and significant, crippling wealth redistribution.

Drawing on past “new deals” to illustrate the impact such “deals” have on the United States, Morano will explain how FDR’s New Deal and Lyndon Johnson’s “Great Society” really impacted American society. And this latest big government program is no different.

In Green Fraud, Morano
How the Green New Deal’s objectives extend far beyond the environment -- including free college; “healthy food” for all; “safe, affordable, adequate housing” provided by the government; and other far-left agenda items That in Europe, where climate policies are years ahead of the United States, energy rationing, low economic growth, and rising costs are leading to misery and even death among Europeans How even Green New Deal allies such as the New York Times and Washington Post have outed the legislation as a wish-list of progressive policies How America can and must defeat the Green New Deal and restore sanity to the climate and energy policy discussion

A must read, particularly if you happen to be a reasonable person who is on the fence about climate change. Marc explains the climate initiative has nothing to do with saving the environment and everything to do with redistribution of wealth, socialism.

If you like the COVID-lockdowns, then you'll absolutely LOVE the "Climate Lockdowns".
Don't think that's a real thing ? Ooooh. It's coming. There's nothing we can do to stop the "solutions" from coming our way. But since we'll all be suffering (oops I mean saving the planet) together, you may-as-well read Marc Morano's book Green Fraud: Why the Green New Deal Is Even Worse than You Think so you're ready when the time comes.

GREEN FRAUD
by Marc Morano, pub. in 2021 & about 250 pages.

Green Fraud: Why the Green New Deal Is Even Worse than You Think is not just about exposing how ridiculous AOC's plan really is, but covers the failed promises, fraudulent facts and the lies of the climate alarmists who envision governmental control as the solution.

A SUMMARY
Morano’s analysis of the proposed Green New Deal (GND) is eye-opening and damning. In his new book ... Morano exposes the program as a far-left agenda filled with progressive policies disguised as a way to save the planet.

No matter what the environmental scare-of-the-day may be, Morano says, the same solution is always proposed—and that solution should scare us. The Green New Deal will lay a path for “global governance,” resulting in less freedom, less sovereignty, massive government bureaucracy, and significant, crippling wealth redistribution.

Drawing on past “new deals” to illustrate the impact such “deals” have on the United States, Morano explains how FDR’s New Deal and Lyndon Johnson’s “Great Society” really impacted American society.

Green Fraud reveals:
how the Green New Deal’s objectives extend far beyond the environment—including free college; “healthy food” for all;
“safe, affordable, adequate housing” provided by the government;
and other far-left agenda items.
In Europe, (where climate policies are years ahead of the United States), energy rationing, low economic growth, and rising costs are leading to misery and even death among Europeans;
how even Green New Deal allies such as the New York Times and Washington Post have outed the legislation as a wish-list of progressive policies;
and how America can and must defeat the Green New Deal and restore sanity to the climate and energy policy discussion.

Begins with praise for the book from various authors and sources and even includes a section of quotes titled "Rage at Marc Morano." One example of the rage is a quote from the New York Times which calls the author "... a prominent denier of espestablished climate change science." [This actually seems like high praise coming from the liberal's premier propaganda news source, the NYT].

The book has 15 chapters and concludes with: "Scientific truth and reality-based economics are always “dangerous” to climate charlatans peddling their coming climate catastrophe..."

"The Green New Deal is not green. It’s not new. And it’s not a good deal for America."

Some details by chapter.

1. Serves as an introduction giving a brief overview of each chapter. The Green New Deal explained as a plan to redistribute wealth, control all aspects of your life and which does nothing to save the planet. "It is about transforming modern America into a centrally planned and managed society ..." Covers the authors testimony at a 2019 Democrat Congressional hearing (and other venues) on climate change along with Greenpeace founder Dr. Patrick Moore who is now a climate skeptic.

2. The history of other New Deals used to expand the power of government. Effects of FDR's New Deal [1933 to 1939] and the Great Depression [1929 to 1939]. Others who proposed their own version of a GND in years past.

3. Man-made climate change is not a threat. Facts demonstrate there is no climate emergency and the proposed fixes would only expand governmental control, cost a fortune and solve nothing. The consensus of scientists is a fraud invented to prove man-made climate change. CO2 doesn't control the climate; there are hundreds of other factors. No mass extinction event, no hottest year ever and polar bears are not endangered. Extreme storms, floods, and fires etc are just more unsubstantiated hype. The climate model con. Models are manipulated to prove whatever outcome is wanted. Climate activists propose jailing climate skeptics.

4. A detailed look at AOC's wacky GND. It's not about the climate. It's a plan hatched by the Democratic Socialists of America and their leftist allies to end America as we know it. The attack on farting cows and air travel. Nuclear power plants, clean energy vilified by the left. President Biden's 2020 version of the GND nonsense, outlawing fossil fuels and mandating unreliables (solar & wind), a costly energy plan that "will drive skyrocketing food, housing, healthcare, and transportation costs."

5. The problems with the GND that's taking place in Europe. The European Green Deal is aptly summed up as an insane suicidal goal of net-zero emissions. "The EU has yet to meet any climate target. It has only succeeded in making energy more expensive."

6. Nothing new. The environmental scares of the past had the same proposed solutions (primarily governmental control of everything) as today's global warming nonsense. In the 1960s and '70s it was overpopulation, then global cooling in the 1970s and the coming of a new Ice Age, running out of oil, cutting down the forests and the threat of no more ozone layer.

7. The Watermelon Cut Open. "It's a watermelon: green on the outside, red on the inside." Gives details of CO2 as "the pretext for shutting down the hated capitalist West ... to introduce socialist totalitarianism on a global scale." Our love of freedom and the prosperity that comes from our capitalist system stands in their way. The progressive Leftists plan to impose the GND on us, eliminate our rights, control what citizens are allowed to eat, drive, or own, restrict prosperity, etc.

8. Covers some of the Lib / Dems who are also questioning the GND, including prominent Democrats, the New York Times and Washington Post and even environmental whacko film maker Michael Moore.

9. The Costs to End All Costs. In addition to AOC's and then Biden's GND, the Dems in 2020 introduced their own Green New Deal version costing $400 billion each year and focused on "climate justice." The GND, harms the poor and minorities the most while doing nothing for climate change.

10. The folly of solar and wind power. These unreliables are not useful renewables. Covers our energy dominance under the Trump administration and the Left's war on nuclear power; "...nuclear is actually the safest source of energy and the only way to provide reliable non-carbon electricity anywhere in the world."

Dangers of EV cars and solar / wind unreliables: dead endangered birds, massive land use, mining of rare minerals, pollutants, etc, and "renewables can't save the planet." Michael Moore's film Planet of the Humans exposes the green energy fraud, profiteering, waste and environmental destruction. The green Libs of course tried to censor Moore's exposé and condemned him for revealing facts like--"wind, solar and biofuel energy are not clean, green, renewable, or sustainable, and they are horrifically destructive..."

11. The COVID lockdowns have inspired environmental alarmists to call for similar restrictions under the guise of a climate emergency. "They want people stripped of wealth, isolated, and terrified. They want sources of joy--church, sporting events, vacations...--eliminated." There's a list of numerous activists and organizations that call for using the severe COVID restrictions as a way to force implementation of their climate solutions.

12. Indoctrinating our kids to become climate activists as nutty as Greta Thunberg (the Swedish environmental activist kid) and details the propaganda of AOC, Al Gore and others. Greta wasn't yet 15 when she was indoctrinated into the climate disaster nonsense and certainly wasn't the youngest; "... kids have been terrorized with climate doomsday nonsense since kindergarten..." Gives the facts and science that debunks Greta's climate misinformation and scare tactics, which Patrick Moore (formerly of Green Peace) labels psychological child abuse and says "It's normally called brainwashing. Mao would be proud." George Soros, the looney leftist gazillionaire, also funds the youth climate movement.

13. Identity Politics, climate justice and environmental racism. The National Academy of Science claims; "Whites are mainly to blame for air pollution, but blacks and Hispanics bear the burden." Even NASA is now woke and has labeled science as racist. Supposedly it's not just CO2 that is to blame for climate change, but also white supremacy, the lawn at your house, cops of course so they must be defunded, and old folks those age 70 or more. Senior citizens are sitting around with the AC on which makes them "a dangerous climate threat." Bill Nye the Science Guy suggests seniors should age out (aka die) which will also solve the problem of old people being the climate denier generation.

14. The COVID lockdowns are seen by climate alarmists as an enviable pattern for their future climate lockdowns. Climate activists have to ramp up their climate scare tactics. Ever increasing urgency and fear is required to get their all-society-encompassing plan passed.

15. Climate exaggeration is successfully used as a scare tactic to terrify the populace into accepting GND policies. The COVID model is an example of government mandates that could be applied to controlling all aspects of our lives. There are examples of climate activists and organizations now calling for prosecuting and jailing climate skeptics. The former Czech president gives a warning about this climate activist agenda. Their pursuit of power "...is the way to the end of freedom [and a] brave new world of dictatorship and totalitarianism."

.

Well done and contains familiar details for those who follow the Lib / Dem's climate hype. Also has many references to the work and research of Bjorn Lombard and Michael Schellenberger.

Appreciate the info on the climate hysteria and the on-going agenda to eliminate our freedom and human rights.

The documentary Planet of the Humans is particularly damning in exposing the big lie of green renewables. Solar, wind and other supposed renewables cost a fortune to build, produce only a fraction of needed electricity, don't last very long and all have to have a fossil fuel backup plant of coal or gas. It's a colossal scam and I see now why the leftist libs, the democrats tried to kill the film and condemned Michael Moore for exposing them.

"Green Fraud" points out, using the words of various UN officials, leaders of the green movement or the architects of the "Green New Deal", that the plans to save the world by destroying modern industrial society have nothing to do with the environment and everything to do with reordering the world along Marxist lines. That same Marxism that caused in excess of 100 million deaths in the 20th century.

The leaders of the green movement are the modern Bolsheviks; profoundly ignorant, utterly without conscience or morality and obsessed with saving mankind no matter how many people have to die in the process. Just the usual sociopaths like all of the Marxist leaders in the 20th century.

It's a labor reading books like this though it's well researched and written; one has to wade thru ignorance and stupidity of the the environmental activists as the author makes his points.

This is an inside look at the Green New Deal and what it will, and will not, deliver. It’s an excellent catalog of quotes and stories from environmentalists predicting catastrophe throughout history, and some arguments against them. Sure, the book can be accused of being biased. And I have read better books on the science of climate change, but this debate is political, not just about the “science.” No matter where you stand on this issue, it pays to understand both sides, and the ideas that animate this issue. Read it and judge for yourself.

I found this to be a well-reasoned argument for why the brakes should be pumped on climate grifters preaching damnation to everyone. I think the point that the Green New Deal would be a forced implementation of socialist economic policies was proven beyond reproach.

As with any current affairs books, you have to examine primary sources and make up your own mind. Morano does get repetitive at times which makes you want to skim. I found there to be some glaring typos which I had to keep staring at to make thats indeed what they were and not some word or concept I had never heard of, which doesn't help the reading experience.

I do think that Morano did a good job with the chapter on covid lockdowns being the blueprint for climate lockdowns.

Read the book, examine primary sources, and do some reading on the opposing side. I think this is a fine resource for those skeptical of the climate Armageddonism headed our way this decade

While the book did sometimes become too overly technical, it’s a great read to understanding what is truly happening within the world regarding CO2 and destruction of the earth. It breaks down the science, with case study results, that shows we are not going to die in 12 years and the world is not as bad off as the media makes it out to be. It also reveals the details of the Green New Deal, the majority of which has nothing to do with climate, but with ending capitalism and reducing the quality of life based on various social programs. Again, another way the media and the Dems are pushing their socialist agenda - with an ultimate goal for power and control.

THE PROMINENT ‘CLIMATE SKEPTIC’ LOOKS AT THE GREEN NEW DEAL, AND MORE

Author and documentary producer (e.g., ‘Climate Hustle’) Marc Morano wrote in the first chapter of this 2021 book, “The Green New Deal is the ultimate wish list of the progressive environmental agenda. And it has almost nothing to do with science or ‘saving the planet.’ The Green New Deal would impact literally every aspect of your life, from your lightbulbs to your appliances… to your home heating and air conditioning, to your SUV… to land use and the size of your home, to your job and the prices you pay, and finally to America’s national sovereignty.” (Pg. 1) He adds, “What criteria will the overlords of the Green New Deal use to say, ‘Okay, that’s enough taxes spending and regulations; the climate has been fixed’? … This book will explain that there are no criteria for a climate end game; the GND is an endless con game.” (Pg. 4) Later, he summarizes, “This book will serve as your guide to understanding the Green New Deal, its goals, its distortions of science, and the tactics that are being used to get it enacted.” (Pg. 24-25)

One of the first things you will notice about this book is that it has a seemingly endless amount of QUOTATIONS---from persons who support his viewpoint, and from persons opposed. In the ‘Acknowledgements’ section at the end of the book, he explains, “This book weas greatly aided by the fireless efforts of a band of climate skeptical bloggers, public policy experts, and vocal scientists who have devoted themselves to revealing the truth behind the climate claims put forth by the UN, Al Gore, the Green new Deal, the media, and academia…” (Pg. 307)

He proudly recounts, “But the greatest honor bestowed upon me was being ranked the world’s number one ‘climate contrarian’---number 1 out of 386 skeptics---by a peer-reviewed study in the journal ‘Nature Communications’ in 2019… They looked at 200,000 scientific journals and 100,000 media articles… They found that yours truly was tanked the most cited climate ‘contrarian’ in the world.” (Pg. 19-20)

He recounts, “Green New Deal-pusher Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) famously predicted in 2019, ‘We’re Like the World is Going to End in 12 Years if We Don’t Address Climate Change.’ But relax. AOC is wrong. Dire predictions about climate tipping points date back to at least 1864… In 1989, the United Nations was already trying to sell their ‘tipping point’ rhetoric to the public… It’s difficult to keep up with whether it is hours, days, months, or years until the climate apocalypse arrive… Perhaps the best summary of the tipping-point phenomenon comes from UK scientist Philip Stott: ‘In essence, the Earth has been given a 10-year survival warning for the last fifty of so years. We have been serially doomed.’” (Pg. 46-47)

He observes, “Ocean levels have been rising since the last Ice Age. Global sea levels have been naturally rising for -20,000 years. There is no evidence of an acceleration of ocean-level rise, and therefore no evidence of any effect of mankind on sea levels. According to tide gauges, ocean levels are rising less than the thickness of one nickel… per year…” (Pg. 51)

He states, “There is nothing essentially new about the Green New Deal. ‘Global warming’ is merely the latest alleged environmental scare that is pushed to promote the same tired ‘solutions.’ The climate alarmists are using what Al Gore called ‘torqued up’ language to urge quick imposition of their desired policies, purportedly to protect us from a ‘climate emergency.’ … AOC has acknowledges that her ‘deal’ will require ‘massive government intervention.’” (Pg. 69)

He asserts, “the Green New Deal is quite literally the most all-encompassing attack on capitalism, wealth creation, and freedom---and the largest boost to social disruption, toxic racial relations, and central planning. The Green New Deal is NOT about the climate. It was never intended to be about the climate. It is a vehicle for the agendas of the Democratic Socialists of America and other leftist groups.” (Pg. 70-71)

He notes, “Nuclear energy is considered a ‘clean’ energy source and provided 19.7 percent of U.S. electricity generation in 2019, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). Under pressure, AOC did partially relent on nuclear energy, calling it ‘an important element of our energy mix.’ She claimed, ‘The Green New Deal does leave the door open for nuclear.’” (Pg. 79)

He contends, “Every version of the Green New Deal---including recently touted ‘Global Green New Deal’---is nothing more than a rehash of the past five decades of environmental activists’ wish list of ‘solutions’ to whatever green ‘crisis’ they raised the alarms about in their day. The Green New Deal literally offers the same solutions that were proposed from previous environmental scares. No matter the environmental problem, the solution is always the same: massive government intervention and control, population control, economic restructuring, wealth redistribution, and limits to national sovereignty. The details of the current environmental ‘emergency’ never really matter.” (Pg. 101-102)

He points out, “Coincidentally, the global cooling-coming ice age scare of the 1970s required the exact same ‘solutions’ as modern climate change!... In fact, the CIA issued reports warning about the dire implications of the imminent cooling… We’re in luck! Geoengineering solves both global cooling AND global warming…” (Pg. 113)

He proposes, “Who needs EPA regulations or UN treaties to reduce carbon dioxide emissions when good old market forces and technology-driven efficiency like fracking can reduce them for you? If climate activists were intellectually honest, they would be singing the praises of fracking as the most effective way to reduce emissions. Fracking has put the UN climate agreement out of business. The U.S. does not need the United Nations centrally planning our lives or a Green New Deal forcing wind and solar on the public to reduce emissions.” (Pg. 172)

He argues, “The COVID lockdowns and mandates were a gift to climate activists. The climate movement may now be poised to plan and dictate a new ‘earth-friendly’ world in the aftermath of the heavy-handed government response to the coronavirus. The climate activists quickly began to strategize to use the coronavirus pandemic as a model for the climate scare---as a dry run for what they hope to achieve.” (Pg. 206)

He summarizes the message of Greta Thunberg to schoolchildren as, “government ‘climate action’ is their salvation. Once government passes the laws that will fix the climate, the kids can have a future and go back to school. Just to be very clear: it’s not ‘climate change’ that is causing this terrible emotional toll on kids and creating a suicidal environment of hopelessness. It’s the fear and the indoctrination kids are receiving from kindergarten through college. Their schools, Hollywood, the media, scientists who should know better, and the youth climate movement are creating this desperation with false alarm. The kids are being instilled with fear by the adults in our society. These children believe that they are ‘doomed’ and only climate ‘action’ can save their future because so many adults want them to think that. Why? Because frightened children are useful for climate-lobbying purposes.” (Pg. 228-229)

He summarizes, “Even if we faced a climate catastrophe, the UN Paris Pact, the Green New Deal, EPA regulations, carbon (dioxide) taxes, cap-and-trade, unplugging your charger, and driving an electric car, would not have any detectable impact on the climate---even if the U.N. CO2 science were correct (it’s not). All of these measures are not actually about the climate---they are about power, politics, ideology, wealth redistribution and symbolism. The scientifically meaningless Green New Deal will not impact the global climate in any detectable ways, but it will have huge human impacts measured in economic, sovereignty, and energy harm. And so preventing the pointless and harmful Green New Deal and climate treaties from being imposed on a nation is the right thing to do… But in political Washington, advocating ‘doing nothing’ about a huge media-hyped issue while an activism-fueled climate ‘crisis’ chorus pounds the airwaves daily linking every possible weather to ‘climate change’ is hard for many politicians to do. Which means that many on the Republican side of the aisle are highly susceptible to wanting to do ‘something’ about climate change.” (Pg. 294-295)

Later, he adds, “My advice to those skittish republicans is use phrases like ‘the way forward’ or ‘regardless of your views on climate, our plan is environmentally friendly.’ … If the climate-woke Republicans continue to talk of ‘solving’ the climate ‘problem’ it makes them look like they are capitulating, and they appear like nothing more than pandering politicians.” (Pg. 299)

He laments, “In many respects, the Trump administration was an historical opportunity for climate skeptics. Having the most climate skeptical U.S. president’s administration remain essentially silent on the climate claims emanating from academia, the media, and the United Nations set back the cause of climate skepticism. Climate activists cold credibly point out that even the Trump administration never challenged the climate consensus claims---therefore they must be valid. And without a scientific challenge, they are fighting the Green New Deal with a major handicap.” (Pg. 303)

This book will be of great interest to climate skeptics, but will be ‘anathema’ to others.

Not the best climate book.

He recommends Schellenberg through out the book. I recommend reading his book, as he is a life long environmentalist who has come to the conclusion that it is not an emergency and most of the claims are false. In this he quotes at least a hundred people mostly believers and spends little time explaining why they are wrong.

Great green expose

A great investigation and report on what a fraud the green new deal is and how the green new deal supporters influence the unsuspecting public about what it is really about which is the redistribution of wealth. A must read for everyone!

Well researched and written, but difficult to get through. This debate is political, not just about the “science.” It reveals the details of the Green New Deal, which has nothing to do with the climate. Climate change is just the vehicle being used to usher in broad socialism and control over the people using scare tactics.

Depressing about what people think about when they bring up climate change, this is a wake up call to those who think they know what they know. Spending tons of money on things that feels too good to be true should give people pause. Those who like to stick to facts rather than relying on politics and letting others distill their info for them will appreciate this book.
