Your past self is coming back. Do you want to remember?
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞…
Sixteen-year-old Abigail Masters has been tormented with nightmares–realistic and terrifying dreams that keep her awake at night. But, somehow, they don't feel like dreams. More like she’s relieving someone else’s life. A chance meeting with a mysterious fortune-teller at her aunt's rural hometown awakens in her a shocking realization.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧…
Nothing will ever be normal again for Abigail when a shadowy organization sets their sights on her. The Association, they are called, and they are determined to keep her in the dark. But as a mysterious guy offers her help in remembering, Abigail must discover the meaning of her dreams and find out why they are coming back now.
Abigail is a teen in California dealing with some severe anxiety and nightmares, so her parents take her to Virginia for a weekend to visit family and to try to relax for a little bit, only it backfires. When her cousins take her to see a gypsy at the fair, the gypsy surprises the three of them by knowing all of them by name and talking to Abigail about her dreams. The next thing she knows, she’s back at her cousin’s house and is told she’d fainted while she was at the fair, and there hadn’t been a gypsy. Back home in California, and back in school, she and her best friends are given an assignment where they have to research a witch from Virginia, a name that Abigail knows. A name she hears in her nightmares… We’ve also got men in black from a group called the Association that’s out to get Abigail, but there’s also help in the form of Dominic. This story is well written, but at only 62 pages, there isn’t much time for character or story development. One issue for me is that it’s written in an episodic format with the books ranging from 57 pages to 84 pages. I like that the series is in Kindle Unlimited, and most of the books are only $.99, but the last book is only 61 pages and $2.99.
A good introduction to the series. Abigail has been terrorized by nightmares to the extent that she needs to take medicine to prevent them. Along with the school stress, she's a mess. A trip to her Aunt's, to reduce that stress, only results in more. She knows things that she shouldn't. When a stranger, Dominic, returns her phone, he opens her eyes to an otherwise unseen world. I wonder where the series will lead.
Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Haunting. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.
I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.
For such a short read it certainly packs a lot of action, plagued by nightmares her parents take her on a visit to Virginia and while visiting a fair a gypsy palm reading triggers her magic. She's lived before as a witch and now her magic is waking others want to stop her from becoming strong enough to spoil their plans. Could be the start of a good series we will have to see what the next book brings, Baz.
Short first book to introduce this series. Many characters are introduced along with the concept of "A Returned One". Abigail has been having nightmares and meets a fortune teller in Virginia telling her they have meaning. Then she meets Dominic and realizes there more to her and Angelica Bennett then she can believe. Interested to see what the next book brings.
A good start to a series, short but with an interesting plotline to carry through the series. Well written with an great lead teenage character. I will.be reading more to see what develops.
Very interesting little novella about a teenager who discovers she's a witch and is the reincarnated or "returned" soul of a witch who lived during the infamous witch trials. I enjoyed this little book and look forward to reading more.
I liked this short story. I liked the charaters. The only thing wrong with this story was it was a cliff hanger of sorts. It was more like the end of the first quarter of the book. There is definitely more to this story.
LOVED this book!!! Was too short for my taste, was left with wanting more, NOW... 😊 Great characters, location, and settings... unique plot... 5 Stars from me... Can't wait to read the next book in the series 😄
Interesting enough read, the characters seem fine enough and the concept is simple to follow. I will read the next book in the hope of becoming more intrigued.
