wow, this novella made me so uncomfortable, but that can be a me case. i didn't know that this is a taboo romance between stepfather/stepdaughter. then again when i found out i didn't stop, so the uneasiness i'm feeling right now is definitely my fault.
it was so hard to read at least for me because i've never been a fan of taboo romance in general. though i think i can still handle the step-siblings but not step-parent. their relationship just made me so uncomfortable.
i like the writing style, the story flow, and i'm actually surprised with the suspense at the end. it's just the characters and their current situation that gives me emotional discomfort. then again maybe it's a me thing and other readers will love this.
this is my first book from this author but i'm sure this won't be my last. i truly enjoyed his writing style and i'm looking forward reading each book in this series.

I enjoyed that there was an actual plot and that the MC's feelings were realistic throughout, I found the story in general very believable due to the circumstances. I wasn't expecting all of that in a stepdad/stepdaughter story.

Well written, quick story about an ex mercenary and his stepdaughter. Very sexy with a good plot for it not being a long book.

DNF @ 24%.
I am really disgusted by stories where the step-father is lusting after his young stepdaughter. He is waiting for her to turn 18 bc he feels guilty for his thoughts. And low and behold the stepdaughter is also horny for the stepfather and becomes very sexual as soon as she discovers his secret longing. I guess its just be but I'm sickened by stories like this since I have worked with victims of molestation and sexually assault. The synopsis of this story is very misleading because it doesn't mention that the H and h are related by marriage.

First time trying this author but I didn’t love this. Characters had way too many flaws. it made me dislike them both and honestly couldn’t see why they liked each other except maybe they found each other hot? This is often a problem with shorter books but it rarely bothers me and usually just leaves me wishing I could read more about the characters. However, in this case I found the heroine very, very immature, when usually we forget how old the characters really are because they mesh so well together in age-gap. She seemed so whiny and couldn’t think past reacting to the moment at hand and her immediate needs. She would whine when he doesn’t want to go out or do the same things she wants and it made me wonder what these 2 are doing together as a couple. There was a lot of focus on her eating (disorder?) but she never appreciated his caring because it continues through the entire book (she eats a half an apple for lunch and won’t eat more even when he pushes her and makes her food). Didn’t feel like this issue added anything to the story for me. I felt similar regarding his bad knee that caused a limp and severe pain but yet we find him chasing people and moving fast (it was the reason for his retirement) but it seems to continue to hinder him & cause a lot of pain, unless he felt like carrying her around or needed to move quickly? I just didn’t get it’s purpose in the story. Maybe he was shot and retired but is better now, but that does not seem to be the case since it sounds like he can barely walk at times. Unless there’s an action sequence...

I purchased this book via Amazon and am leaving my review voluntarily. It is the first book in the series. Do not read if this genre is not your thing.

Action. A drop of drama. Lots of sexy time. HEA

Whew! Hotness overload and I LOVE IT!
This steamy story hit ALL THE SPOTS and I just kept wanting more!!!
Stringer felt like he was literally stripped right out of my fantasies. Dominant, possessive, overprotective and with a single mindedness that was all directed toward his one obsession... His little feather, Raven.
He will do whatever it takes, without consequence, to keep his girl safe and by his side. Proving to her, time and again, that she's HIS and nothing will change that fact or ever take her away from him.
I didn't want this book to end and I am anxiously awaiting Nikolai's next release...and hoping that it comes SOON!

Sometimes your feelings are returned.
This was my first story by this author and I really liked it a lot. It was entertaining and enjoyable with a bit of taboo. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Stringer was a man after my own heart with how he took care of business. He was protective, possessive, and focused. Raven was a wonderful mixture of young and old. She was young age wise but definitely older in her mind with how she knew what she wanted and when. Their talks had a tendency to crack me up. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

He was consumed by his stepdaughter. She was in love with her stepdad. How in the world does this scenario work out? It does in Nikolai Andrew’s world and I’m glad he invited his readers in. This was H-O-T, hot and naughty. The Hero, Stringer, is…er…high strung and trigger happy when it comes to any male tangling with Raven, his stepdaughter. It certainly isn’t fatherly feelings he has for Raven, although when she calls him Daddy…

Wow! This book was not at all what I was expecting but I thoroughly enjoyed it! Stringer is a retired mercenary after a devastating injury to the knee forced him out of the job. He lives with his stepdaughter and harbours taboo feelings for her that he trays to keep in check but when she is kidnapped, all bets are off. He will burd the world if necessary to get her back in his arms. Highly recommended

This is one hitman that I'd hit!
In his first solo book, Nikolai knocked it out of the park! The storyline was strong and the chemistry between the characters was hot! I love the way her writes as a mans man. Very masculine and dominant. Had me all hot and bothered!

Stringer & Raven
I love that this book just jumped right in with both feet, no "introduction" necessary. It is told from duel perspectives, and I thought the hero's views were better fleshed out than the heroine, as she seemed a little immature, but hey... she probably was! I also loved that this book contained several of my favorite tropes without me knowing it going in, so that was an extra bonus! Overall, great story, and I look forward to reading more by this author!
