Will Slater is on the hunt. Three months ago he found a list belonging to drug-slinging gangster Dwayne Griggs. A collection of blackmail, pictures of unspeakable horrors. He’s not going to stop until the men in the photos are dead and buried. He’s already mown through five of them. The sixth poses a problem.
Kian Grant, an ex-televangelist preacher with murky ties to the Boston underworld, knows something’s coming. Before Slater can even approach his suburban mansion, Grant is gone, fleeing south over the border to the mountain town of Durango. Slater knows exactly what that means. Cartel ties. Doesn’t mean he’ll let it slide.
If Grant was hoping Slater would let it go, he picked the wrong enemy.
Slater enlists the only man willing to help wage war with hordes of soulless killers in a barren land, and together he and Jason King set off in relentless pursuit of a grifter who’ll get what’s coming...

Matt Rogees is a great writer and I always read them all, King series, Slater series and since they got together Slater and King!
Anxious for the next book! If you haven't tried them yet I suggest you stsrt with The King Series to get an understanding of what and who his character is, then the Slater series! You'll then understand why this King and Slater is all about!!!
Another great King and Slater black ops story King and Slater are back at ridding the world of evil people, and in the mean time keeping a home lifestyle going back home. The Matt Roger's series of books uses, what I consider, the modern style of writing thriller books. King and Slater succeed on their own, not because of some misguided fluke of the universe gives them a luck break. I whole heartedly recommend reading Matt Roger's books. And if you want a great reading experience, start at the beginning or at least book 1of the King and Slater series.
Once again a very engrossing story. I am so glad you have kept these 2 working together. Plus their female partners. I wish the end of this book had been the 4 of them sharing their stories. Anyway, once again a great read. I have read every one of your books and would highly recommended to all readers.
Rogers does it again. Our heroes are back with all the thrills and spills we expect. The story is one that is so close to home it’s scary. The guys approach from dif sides for dif reasons but still to conquer the bad that’s reared it’s ugly head in their worlds. The awesome woman are just as bad ass as their men and we now have a family component that Rogers brings into play without losing the gungho go get em thrills that have kept this reader enthralled. Thanks Matt Rogers, another winner
King and Slater continue to grow and develop. Great story lines encompassing the families too. The future looks exciting and non stop action. Highly recommend for all readers.
Bitter sweet ending to the the King & Slater saga (so far)...though excited for the next as-yet unwritten book, which hopefully is in the works. This installment starts about a month or so after the last. King is adjusting to life as a father to his newborn son, and Slater is admirably filling the role of Father-figure to his basically adopted teenage boy, Tyrell. At the end of the last book, when Slater takes down the biggest Heroin dealer in Boston, he comes across a stack of evidence against a number of different people guilty of terrible crimes, which makes up his newest shit-list. This book starts with Slater taking a few of the names off the list, before others on said list apparently become wise to the targeted killings, and begin to go to ground. One scumbag in particular, Kiern Grant, this book's antagonist, is a middleman for a Mexican Cartel, moving large quantities of Heroin to the east coast of the US). He realizes that he's being targeted, so he fleas to Mexico, into the arms of the Cartel, who he believes will protect him from whoever is killing undesirables in the US. Long story short, Slater enlists the help of King, and the guys take a trip down to Mexico and end up wiping out an entire cartel, before ultimately knocking off the next name on Slater's shit list. This book was pretty straight forward, not too many twists/turns. In fact, it was probably the most formulaic thriller of the series to date, IMO. Which is why it didn't get the regular 5 stars rating. Also, this book really solidifies the direction that the series is going to take, which will consist of Slater continuing to check names off his shit list, and wrangle King into the fray with him. Altogether a good book, but certainly not his best.

Slater and Alexis train 13 year old to be a killer!
Ok, stories about King and Slater were fun. They give us a set of Hero’s to follow but they are true to life killers through and through. Then they find smart attractive women and the women become killers through whom justice is almost always death. Finally, crazy Slater adopts a 13 year old from the street and begins to train him to follow in his footsteps. No story about Alexis stopping that; she encourages the kid to begin infiltrating a drug ring whom she later kills. It’s too much to even sanction by accepting this as a good story. It isn’t a good story and for me it has become a sick romp. Don’t buy this degenerate story line.
As all the previous books that came before “Tyrants”, this one is a great way to distract yourself from real life by following the fictional heroes Jason King & Will Slater into the abyss of what fictional heroes do to save humanity one human at a time.
I have loved all the Matt Rogers books I have read but the King and Slater ones are my favorite. I look forward to the new releases, after all they have to get through that list of a um age!
Wow what a great read Slater is ruthless as usual and with King they tackle bad men in Mexico while the girls have problems of there own great read and soo looking forward to the next got withdrawal systems already !!
Another caper, yes you have an idea how it’s going to go......none the less a fast paced and good story.... I’ve read them and still enjoy each new book when they arrive.....keep up the good work Matt and thank you🙏🏻
Since I found Rogers I have been hooked. I've powered through every series. Every book is action packed. I love it. King and slater are such great characters. Tyrants just continues the saga. I don't want it to end.
These guys never take the easy way. But they always win. Their fight this time was actually on two fronts with a big assist from their ladies. Just shows you better not underestimate their team.
Vintage King and Slater. I read many of them and I’m hoping to take a shower but I have not read were jam getting ready to check out right now thanks for the good book.
Enjoyed the way the story was following the story , not only from the foreign front, but also from the home front. The environment and the interface between the women, Corell, and the drug trafficers.
As usual you just can't put the book down. It's an amazing gift to be able to put everything together, and make it FIT so seamlessly. Thanks for a great read!!
