WOW!! This was a great book, was not expecting it to be so emotional. I loved this story line , kept me on edge. I am irritated with the character Kelly, to me she seems like a snob. I do get she wants to be a part of things….we’ll stop being so judgie. I cannot wait for the next book…this is definitely my all time favorite series….PLEASE keep them coming!!!!!!! Happy Reading :)

Both Ian and Lily's family all come to Oregon for Connors first birthday. Ian's parents have a major surprise for their children when they buy the old Marymoor Santorum lot (for the insane) and plan to build a home there. Lily's mom brings back more than just old toys. I like the end of the book even though that storyline was starting to feel repetitive and could've said more about the mysterious eight women.

June is even more annoying than Kelly. The only downside of this book is that the move will mean more June in future stories.

I liked the imaginary friend story line. It was original and touching. The other storyline felt a little rushed and over simplified - it could have been another book. This series continues to be light and easy, which sometimes we all need.

It's Connor's first birthday, and everyone is coming to town - with surprises!! First, Ian's parents have decided they want to live closer to their two children. So without telling anyone, they sold their house and have arranged to buy a piece of property to build on. Unfortunately, because it was a secret, there was no one to warn them that the property they bought was once the site of the Marymoor Insane Asylum, which is VERY haunted. The second surprise happens when Lily's parents decide to bring a box of Lily's old toys for their grandson to play with. Little do they know, that along with the toys is the ghost of a little boy! How do all of the Beach Drive mediums deal with the current paranormal activity, when in the midst of so many non-mediums!

I really enjoyed getting to know Lily and Ian's family when they were in town for Connor's birthday. They were a little much, along with Lily's sister. But overall I liked this storyline a lot. Can't wait to see what comes of Dani and Walt's exciting news and Ian's parents moving into town!

Not much of a mystery in this book, but totally enjoyed re-visiting Danielle, Walt and all of their friends (and ghosts).

I'm totally addicted to this series!

For drama, humor, ghosts, and animals this series has got it all! I've loved it from the 1st book. Finally Heather and Brian
have found love with each other. I'm really happy for them! I
have the feeling that Danielle is pregnant and I'm really happy for her & Walt. I can't wait for the next book!!!!

Definitely not my favorite of the series, because
1. Suddenly ghosts are transparent?? How have there been so many instances of the mediums mistaking ghosts for real people if they're transparent?
2. We had the same conversation about the damn haunted property and "not being upset you're moving, but being thrown off because of the property!" sooooo many times. Seriously, one or two times was plenty.
3. The juicy bits of the story happened in like the last 3 chapters

Still glad I read it. Still looking forward to the next one. Overall, didn't love.

Honestly, this one was a slow. I am not sure why the author feels the need to inject so many Aholes into the plot.

Characters being oblivous, mean, or controlling does NOT make for interesting conflict. People like Kelly and Ian's mother are insufferable, if they continue to get more spotlight it might be time to put away the series.

Lots going on in this book. Various problems to solve. For one, Ian’s parents sold their house and bought a lot in Frederickport in order to live closer to Ian, Lily, and Connor. It was a surprise to Ian and boy was it a surprise! Not a good one because his parents bought the lot that the Marymoor insane asylum used to hold. The lot was haunted with an angry ghost that attacked anyone stepping into the property. Ian and Lily and most people in town knew about the hauntings. Adam and his now fiancé Melony were attacked by a floating stick (they cannot see ghosts like Danielle, Walt, Chris, and Heather can). Adam was leery of selling the land to Ian’s parents, but the parents said they don’t believe in ghosts.

When Ian found out, he knew he had to do something to either have his parents back out of the land’s title or somehow get the ghosts that inhabited that land to leave. Ian spoke with the mediums and they devised a plan to help the ghosts cross over.

Then there was also a little boy ghost that was “haunting” Ian and Lily’s house. The ghost Marie and Danielle worked out a way to get him to cross over. This was after Danielle and her husband Walt did some research about who the boy was and what can be done to help him be at peace. The boy turned out to be Lily’s imaginary friend from the time she was born until the time she was 6 years old. However, he wasn’t actually an imaginary friend, but a real boy ghost and he was taking over as Connor’s new pal. Lily, Danielle, and the ghost Ava took part in reconnecting the boy with his ghost parents. It was beautiful. That’s the day Lily was able to see her best friend from childhood the boy ghost and they told each other Goodbye and I love you’s were exchanged.

Then there was Heather and Brian - they finally came “out of the closet”, so to speak.

And throughout the book it was suspected Danielle is pregnant. Well, in the end of the book she finally got a pregnancy test.

What else? Well, Ian’s parents will soon build a forever home on the Marymoor property and I suspect the mother, June is going to drive Lily insane…especially since they are not privy to a few friends that often hang around are ghosts.

Next is the 29th book in this 30 book series and it is called The Ghost and the Church Lady.

Brilliant Series Now Boring and Going Downhill Fast

This series is getting more wackier and boring and just simply also ran. It's list it's sparkle, it's light touch, it's freshness, it's romance...and it has for damn sure lost my interest. Lily as become a very unlikable, snotty person, no continuing romance between Walt and Danielle which is why I keep reading. The characters are too pat and nosey and for goodness sakes, several of them just simply need a good face-to-face telling off. Character development is way way off and bland and too predictable. The idea of an imaginary friend who was a ghost was alright but the insane asylum storyline was too implausible. Good to see Heather and Brian hooking up but now I read to hurry up and get to the end to see what will happen between Walt and Danielle. It is for this reason I pre-ordered the next book but the series has gone south for me and jumped the shark and having read it since book 1, I am just so terribly terribly disappointed to the point of excessive yawning when there is a new release. The next book maybe my last.

This is my favorite series ever and we are up to book #28. The writing is fantastic. I don't know how the author keeps coming up with such intricate plots.

In this book Connor, neighbor Ian and Lily's baby, is turning one years old. He has an imaginary friend but the mediums are astonished to discover that his imaginary friend is a ghost! And that he used to be Lily's imaginary friend. Meanwhile, both sets of grandparents have arrived from out of town for the birthday celebration. I'm a grandma too but I hope that I am not as annoying as Lily's mother-in-law. I can see why Lily's sister-in-law, Kelly is so obnoxious. The apple didn't fall far from the tree. Lily and Ian are speechless when they discover that his parents sold their house and bought property to build right there in Frederickport, Oregon- he has bought the very haunted land where an insane asylum once sat. And the ghosts are not friendly. Can the mediums of Beach Drive get together and do an exorcism?

Keep this series coming! I haven't yet read one that I didn't love.

Families can be harder to cope with than you think.

This is an excellent read. It has ghosts from the past of Fredrickport and a specific ghost for Lily.
When an old site comes up for sale Ian's parents decide to buy it,, of course there are ghosts attached. The resident psychics have to find a way to convince them to leave.
Meanwhile Lily's parents arrive with a box of her old toys for baby Connor, not realising that they have brought the ghost of a young boy with them. Danielle and co need to find out more about him to help him move on, but he isn't talking to them.
A must read for all lovers of the supernatural world

These stories get better & better in all the characters lives. Danielle & Walt's friend's, Lily and Ian's families come to Frederickport to celebrate Connor's 1st birthday and the in-laws have a surprise for them that is a total surprise and disturbing because Ian's parent's bought land where there was an asylum that burnt down and has a history of being haunted but the in-law's don't believe it. Connor also has a new playmate with a surprise for Lily and I don't want to tell much more to spoil the story. I love how this story ended and look forward to the next chapter for all the characters in this series.

This was one of the better books in the series. Despite the fact that both Kelly and her mother are alike and equally annoying, their presence receded with the manifestation of the ghosts from the old asylum. The mediums of Beach Drive investigate the asylum staff and residents along with finding information about a ghost at Lily's house. The intensity of feeling surrounding the property where the asylum used to be helped amp the action and suspense and helped dull the irritation with Kelly, her mom and Lily's sister.

Loved it!!

I love how Walt and Danielle are always happy to help out whether it's a living person or someone who's passed on. I'm this new adventure we find that despite it being Connor's first birthday someone from a not so distant past arrives and we get to learn what really happened at Marymoore. Now we are getting to see what happens with Heather and Brian! This book was funny and a little heart wrenching but a must read!!!

Mystery Solved

I loved the 28th book in the Haunting Danielle series. With in-laws around, things are pretty aggravating for our group. I still dislike Kelly but with her mother around, things are about to be a little more trying for Ian and Lilly. I love this series and with the added audio book it was even better. Excellent narration. I highly recommend this book and series. Great little cliffhanger!

As of this writing there are 36 books in this series. All easy reads which are perfect for a beach/pool day or lounging near the fire. I love how Holmes/McIntyre introduces new characters with every book so by the time you get up near the 30’s, you have an entire small Oregon town to remember who’s who. Cute stories with great characters. This particular book fits the template and does not disappoint.

Interesting story and characters in Fredericksport, OR

I've read all of the books in this series. Are ghosts real? I don't know but the stories are wonderful, people living in a small coastal town who know about the town and the inhabitants from the past and the present. And spirits are tied to Fredericksport in many different ways that presents the mystery. Highly recommend.

Imaginary friends

We all have heard how little Marie could see Eva when she was a child and now we know Lily had an imaginary friend. That friend has now become her sons friend, plus with the families coming to town for Connors first birthday all hands on deck. Ian's patents drop a wallop of a surprise no-one saw coming. Is Dani pregnant? Can't wait to find out.

Spirits

My husband and I like Bobbie books. They are fun and just good reading. I'm happy Lilly was able to see Rupert and his mother before they went for good. I was also glad Danielle was able to help the others. I have recommended these books to others and will continue to do so.

Considering this was titled “the ghost and the birthday boy” I was expecting more of Connor! It still makes sense, it settles around the ghost of a child that visits Connor, as well as other things happening in the family around the time of his birthday - ending with the celebration - but still. I don’t know what I was expecting but I wanted more of the baby!
