Educating Thalia

Rate this book
If anyone discovered her secret, sassy Puerto Rican grad student Thalia Bareo could kiss her scholarships, opportunities, and any future career hopes goodbye. She'd be forced back home, stuck working at her father’s auto shop… the very place she’s worked so hard to leave behind. Thalia values her independence and has never needed a man to make her life complete. She’s on the fast track to becoming one of the top minds in her field, her passion for museum curation and her desire to travel the world the driving force behind all of her decision making. But fate throws a wrench in her plans when Thalia’s path crosses with two men who each stake a claim on her heart - two men who just happen to be professors at her university. Rivals at the posh New England school she attends, and neither having any idea they’ve taken an interest in the same plus-sized beauty, these men couldn’t be more different from one another. Yet both desire Thalia’s voluptuous body, as well as her intellectual mind, and offer her very different glimpses into futures she’s never considered. With each of them, she discovers a hidden side of herself and must make an impossible choice now that her eyes have been opened. Is it just about the thrill of her ‘education’ or will this forbidden love change Thalia forever? *** Authors' This is a full-length novel with lots of steamy romance, a HFN (Happy For Now) with a plus-size heroine. There will be a sequel to this book, concluding the tale of Thalia and her men. This book is NOT a threesome romance, though it contains sexual content and language. This book includes discussions of fat-shaming the main character experienced in her life. In later chapters of the book, there is a description of a thwarted sexual attack on a female character. What did I think of this one... hmmm...

Kidding. I thought it was well-plotted, well written, very steamy, and so much insanity! I can explain.

Well-plotted because the flow of events didn't feel forced or over the top.

Well written because it's beautiful and full of voice. Every character is unique and it's not a bunch of the same voice between characters.

Steamy... you know... It's an obvious factor. There is heat. But not so much that it's unbearable to read this book in a public venue, but not so absent that there feels like something is missing. It's the perfect temperature. Enough heat to feel warm on a cold day, like sunbathing in spring... And even better, each of the characters had their own voice here. Certain ones would like certain things, and you knew they were different beyond just the way it read... Didn't make it any less spicy.

And insanity... it comes down to having Thalia decide between two men. One, Rob, a pompous British professor, who, once you get to know him, isn't quite reserved and pompous. The other was Josh, another professor, who was a former family man and a dad. Both worlds different and yet both are the potential love of her life. That, and I have issues with anyone named Josh being a romantic lead, that's my own personal issue that no one can fix. LOL

So, who would Thalia choose? And why can the one man I want to win be the one? Because I do have a clear choice in my head. I really don't want to see the other guy heartbroken... All I know is that this story left me wanting so much more. Thankfully, there is a book 2... I NEED ANSWERS!!! STAT!!!

As though this is a hospital drama...

Anyway, would I recommend this book? Absolutely. If you're looking for something steamy, yes, please read. If you're searching for something with more depth in a love story, yes, please read. It's really good. Really addictive. And really makes you want to scream in frustration in a good way.

I did my best to keep this spoiler-free... which is not an easy thing to do since I want to talk it all out with someone. Please read, enjoy, and feel free to hit me up should you ever want to discuss.

Fun, hot and DRAMA

I loved this book from the moment I picked it up! Such a beautiful cover, and it sets you up for exactly what you’re getting! The first five chapters are hot, hot, hot! It pulls you in from the beginning and you dive head first! I am Thalia, and her choice has me on edge as well! Kudos to the authors for bringing this spicy piece together! Can’t wait to pick up the second book!!
