Carraway Falls #1

Turning the Page

You know what they say about best-laid plans…

After eight years away from home, my plans have been blown out of the water and I’m right back where I started. Carraway Falls. I never wanted to return to my small-town life but I also didn’t plan to get laid off.

So here I am. Trying to figure out what’s next. Picking up the pieces isn’t easy but at least I’ve got the safety of my best friend’s couch to land.

Oh, and did I mention my childhood friend/crush is still around. And he’s a ridiculously hot firefighter. Yeah, I don’t have time for that kind of distraction. I’m on a mission to rewrite my story and nothing’s going to get in the way.

I mean it. Nope. I’m trying to dust off and make some new plans. Jack Fuller’s sexy smile won’t veer me off course. Not even if a second chance at…whatever we had in the past is enticing.

Turning the Page is a full-length, standalone small-town novel. It is the first book in the Carraway Falls series.

Jean Marie has been falling in love with characters in books for as long as she can remember. From an early age, she escaped into the worlds created by others. And now she's finally creating some herself, complete with sexy heroes and relatable heroines.

When she's not reading, she's drinking some tea, probably watching a truly tragic medical drama, or reading. Her debut series takes place in the fictional small town in Vermont and features famous garlic knots, some serious steam, and a whole lot of heart.

Jack and Lily's story captivated me from the very start! I love second chance romances, and small town romances, so this combined the best of both worlds! The intrigue with Jack and his job, and the tight knit group of friends kept me hooked through the entire book, and Jean did an amazing job teasing what are sure to be amazing books in the Carraway Falls series! A brilliant debut novel!

What could possibly happen when you move back home after losing your job and your childhood crush is hotty McFirefighter? Well, Lily finds out in Turning the Page.

Jean writes a beautiful, sweet, second chances love story that has your heart feeling all warm and fuzzy. The way she writes grabs your attention right off the bat and you want to keep reading to see if they get their happily ever after.

Lily moves back to her hometown but ends up staying at her friend's place because her parents had rented out their house. Lily has no job and is not sure what she is going to do. Well she is out with her friends they bump into Jack, her high childhood crush, and boy has he filled out, and he is a firefighter. What could possibly happen when he gets a little close? Her favourite restaurant is closing and she decided to buy it but it needs a few changes.

Jack has never told Lily that he has had a crush on her for years but never acted on it. He offers to help Lily and that gets the sparks flying. All he can think about is her. He makes a life-changing decision and it causes some tension between them.

Will Lily make her new place work? With Jack helping her will she give in to his charming ways?

The writing is fantastic and you want to keep reading. This is her debut novel and it is fantastic. I look forward to reading many more of Jean's novels in the future.

Turning the Page is Jean Marie’s debut novel and she did an amazing job! This is a super cute second chance, small town romance with character Jack and Lily.

She’s back in her home town after life hands her a bad hand and he is still in their hometown... looking all sexy and such!

I loved the characters in this story that each had their own quarks and difficult pasta that they need to deal with in order to grow. It had me in tears and then laugh out loud at times. I love how Jean made it believable and that they had to work for it in their own ways.

It has the perfect amount of steam and tied in other characters for the series perfectly. Another thing I loved is that they both had their own insecurities that they needed to address before moving forward. I feel like I could see them as friends in my own life and their relationship progressed in the exact way it would in real life!

I am looking forward to the next part of the Carraway series 😊

“I laugh and we both smile as our eyes meet, and something settles inside me. It feels like a perfectly placed piece of a puzzle finding its home.”

This book will give you all the small town feels, and you will love it!

Lily moves back home after being fired from her job and she is looking for a fresh start. She soon runs into Jack one of her best friends going up who she secretly always had a crush on. Jack, who is now a firefighter, is trying to figure out what is missing in his life. He recently went through a rough fire, and is deciding what he should do next. Jack also had a crush on Lily and was going to tell her the day she left town, but missed his chance. When Jack and Lily run into each other, Jack knows this is his chance with Lily.

Jack and Lily pick up right where their friendship left off. They both know this is their second chance, and go for it. It was precious how they took their time and got to know each other again before it went even further. Jack will do whatever he can to help Lily with her new business. He was hesitant to open up to Lily with what was going on in his life, but he did not want to add more to her plate. I wish he would have opened up to her sooner, even his best friend was telling him to open up.

Overall, this was a great start to a series, and I cannot wait to read the next one!

This is an amazing debut, and this is definitely an author to look out for in the future. Lily return to her small hometown after being away for 8-years to regroup and for a fresh start, while catching up with friends. Jack is a sexy fireman as well as one of Lily’s best friends, and the chemistry between them is undeniable. This is a beautifully written story which is a wonderful friends / lovers 2nd chance romance story, with emotions, friendships, intrigue, and love, which all leads to an entertaining and all-consuming tale. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend.

A great small-town second-chance love story

Ok, I really enjoyed the story. Jack and Lily are a great couple who both have some things to work through before they can have their happily ever after, and they did it together in this book. Jean Marie also penned such wonderful secondary characters that I'm really looking forward to reading their stories in the future.
But can I be real with ya'all for a moment? I NEED a library-themed bar and grill in my life!!! Also garlic knots. I need those things please. :-D

Fantastic debut novel!!

From start to finish, I was completely captivated with the characters and the storyline. Lily & Jack grew up together and both hid their true feelings for each otherfor 8 years. Their love for each grows while working on Lily’s new business. I can't say enough good things about it...just read it!! Jean Marie knocked her debut novel out of the park!! I can’t wait for more Carraway Falls books. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Great start to a series. The book starts of a bit slow and is a slow burn but once I got to know all the characters and what is going on I was hooked. I just wish the beginning was a little spicier, it takes a bit of reading to get to the sexy parts but they are not disappointing. I’m really looking forward to and hoping for Chloe’s and Elise’s stories.

This is the authors debut book and I absolutely loved it. Its a second chance at love with two old friends who were close but never actually dated until now 8 years later, when Lily is back in town.

Jack always knew she was meant for the big city so as hard as it was he never told her how he felt. When Lily loses everything in the big city she goes back to her small town and spends time with her two best friends while she decides what to do with her life.

In town she reconnects with Jack, and friends in her town and has to decide what her future will be.

This was a wonderfully written story and I adored every single character. I adored Jack, and I loved Lily and I cannot wait to read more about Cooper, Chloe and Elise.

If you love friends to lovers, second chance at love and small town living then you will love this story.

I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fantastic debut novel, second chance, small town, the tropes I love. Also, the beginning of a series!

It is fun getting to know the characters in Carraways Falls, Jack and Lily, plus their meddling family and friends. Lily has just lost her job in Boston and moved home. Jack is a local firefighter, and both have had crushes on each other for some time. As usual, everyone knew but the parties involved. As they get closer while working on her project, will they tell each other their truths? Can she change her dreams and goals?

I was hooked from the first page, and I am looking forward to going back to Carraway Falls to get more stories.

Sweet second chance read. Lily wallows in self pity when her world is turned upside down. Jack is the sexy firefighter she left behind all those years ago. Once the two reunite the flames have been stoked.
