The last living dragon, Axela, lives isolated in a fort with wine as his only comfort. Meanwhile, Corette, an orphaned but optimistic girl, moves in as his caretaker and ferociously tries to get him to warm up to her. Will the two overcome their differences and bickering? What will Axela do when Corette is suddenly taken hostage by the queen?
I kinda knew how the story would end. What I didn’t know was that this story was only in black and white. It wasn’t a huge problem but I was tricked by the profile photo.
Even though there were over 100 chapters, I managed to get through most of it within a day. It was an easy enough read, nothing too heavy or thought-provoking. Besides the fact that the main guy, Axela is the only dragon left and uses alcohol as a coping mechanism.
I appreciated the fact that the author tried to world build plus the mentions of past events kept things intriguing.
There were some hilariously awkward moments when a teenage Corette knew nothing about puberty. Although, it felt a little weird when Axela was in that mating phase. Like, he’s hundreds of years old and she’s still a teen… (Nothing bad happened but Axela kept Corette in a very tight bubble about how that whole thing works.)
As I said, I knew where this story was going as soon as Corette aged up. There were bittersweet notes but it was basically a HEA.
She was 13 when she met the hundreds of years old dragon.
SHE WAS 13 WHEN SHE MET THE HUNDREDS OF YEARS OLD DRAGON.
She was 13 YEARS OLD when she MET the HUNDREDS OF YEARS OLD DRAGON.
Look, this was a cute, bonding story until for some reason the writer decided "welp, she's 15, time to take this unbalanced power dynamic and make it romantic".
All I want in life is to stop having to see young women or girls hooked up in a romantic relationship with men MANY years older. Especially in stories.
The artwork is fantastic. The characters interesting. The plot lines drew together well in a way that didn't feel like a neat "wrap up".
But I can't get over how much having a 15 year old child or young woman start a relationship with someone MANY years her senior squicks me out.
One star.

Another completed one from the Manta app. 60 chapters and 5 bonus. Whilst the cover is in colour, the content itself is black and white. It starts off cute and funny. An orphan girl given the job of becoming sitter to an alcoholic dragon. Their time together is sweet. It was entertaining to see Ax at wits end. Corette was lovely and dense. The little talking crow was nice too. Up until the hostage situation it was 4 stars. The queen annoyed me. She had her past, her trauma, but she was still so awful. Kroy went down in my estimation too. The ending was wholesome and mostly forgiveness. The first kiss was funny, giving him wine to drink. The confession was unexpected and cute. I didn't think she's ever realize. The age gap was a little iffy. Corrette is only 15 by the end. It was cute and innocent. Up until the queen.

This was a really good manhwa like the storytelling, the characters and the art would really captivate your interest. However with the romantic side of things and regardless if it was fictional, the female lead was definitely too young at 12-15 to worrying about love as well as an age gap. I mean it wasn’t a biggie like both her and hot tempered dragon boi had definitely interesting conversations, especially getting to know each other on why she had to be a sitter and why he was a royal hermit in the first place.
I even liked how the story really didn’t leave anyone out like Crow boi and the Queen were pretty interesting side characters even if they are sus af lol. Although I will admit she was inappropriate and creepy to our FL when they first met. I wish dragon bois friend Ginitae had more screen time, he would’ve been fun to watch and participate in all the action that everybody went throughout the whole story beginning to end (don’t worry I won’t tell spoilers to what happened in the end).
Look guys if you love your fantasy art style, this manhwa is one to check out! That is if you don’t mind the age gap between main characters tho…
This started out as a cute story about a determined young girl and an extremely stubborn dragon. When I first started Dragonsitter, I wasn't sure what to expect. I enjoyed the interaction between Axela and Corette. No matter what he tossed her way, she handled it and kept going. I found Corette to be a strong character. I liked seeing her grow from an awkward girl into a more confident woman. Axela starts out as a surly alcoholic dragon. He felt like more than anti-hero in the beginning, but the more time he spent with Corette, the more he changed and became a better person/dragon.
The artwork was wonderful, and I really enjoyed the story line. I only wish there had been more!
I really liked the story except for the romantic aspect, which is weird to say coming from me as I love romance in stories. But FL was a child when she dragon man, who was hundreds of years old. When the author did the tap jump, it shouldn't have just been two years, it should have been at least 10, at the minimum, or the romantic interest should have one-sided in terms of the FL. She was wayyyyy too young and naive to be a realistic interest to dragon man. The story itself was great for the most part. I just really hated the Queen. She definitely deserved more than the practically non-existent slap on the wrist she got. She should have lost her position, got her ass beat, something. She was too much of a horrible person, I don't care what her traumatic backstory was. She was a shitty person and that's all there was too it. I like that dragon man was a complicated person. He was multi-dimensional and interesting. FL was also interesting, and yes, while she was mature in some aspects, she was hopelessly naive in the same sense. I love the art. It was spectacular.
I like it! I like Corette and Axela relationship,i like the storyline,i like the artstyle, recommended!!! You have to read it,I want to read another story from Zica.
A lovely story about an orphan girl, Corette, being a dragon sitter to the only dragon left in the world, Axela. in the first few chapters we are given a glimpse of Axela’s alcohol addiction and lousy temper; and how Corette was able to tame the dragon. There were humour here and there as both Corette and Axela could take a jab (or many) from each other.
As the story progresses, we are introduced to Queen Gaisa and Kroy her advisor, and the history of how this dragon’s life became so intertwined with theirs, politically and emotionally.
3.5 ⭐️ because the story ended too quickly 😂 character development was also somewhat two dimensional. Though given the pace of the story it’s already pretty good imo. overall it’s a feel good story and a quick read and I highly recommend this to lovers of fantasy + a dash of romance!
The age difference was really too much. I loved it before it took a romantic twist. After that, I struggled with the story. The power dynamics, the age difference... it's just yikes.

A mix of love and heartbreak, romance and intrigue, it held my attention through most of the story. The beginning was a little slow and the end a little sad. Over all enjoyable.
