Here we go again... She's forty. Single. And Accidentally Magical!
Ever since that fateful knock weeks ago, I expected life to suddenly be brimming with adventure and magic…
Yet here I am, changing my cat’s litter and flossing like nothing ever happened.
I mean, my best friend is a Fae princess, and there’s a magical bracelet fused to my body for goodness sakes! Shouldn’t something be different?!?
But aside from playing mediator in my pet’s arguments (which they have far too often), life is pretty, well, boring again. And the only action I’m seeing is in my dreams with my favorite brooding Coven leader.
I know, I know.
I should be careful what I wish for, but as they say, you can’t fight human nature.
But maybe I should’ve? Because I seem to have forgotten that adventure—and danger—go hand in hand.
And when that second fateful knock finally does come, it brings more adventure than I could’ve ever bargained for…
I’m really enjoying this series, and have already downloaded the next book in the series. One thing that may be a problem for some readers, (although it doesn’t bother me), is that we still haven’t solved the original crime of the missing Kings. I understand this will be an eight part series, so eventually all will be revealed. In the meantime, I’m enjoying the trips to other realms and all the magical beings.
I have really enjoyed Melinda Chase’s other stories including the first of this series...I’m pretty sure the file uploaded to Kindle is the wrong draft as there are copious spelling mistakes, grammatical issues and muddled sentences, that weren’t there in previous stories. Would have liked more of Callie and Shade becoming closer in this book.
Willa, a fae princess, Callie, a human wearing a fae bracelet that can not be removed, and Slade the witch king's brother and protector are off to the fae realm to look for the fae king and the witch king. There are new twists and turns in this story and it's a nice slow burn that is just starting to heat up. Good story. Can't wait to see what happens next.
And mis-spelled words that distract from the story. Wrong names and weird sentence structure . The story is great and satisfying, and I am really looking forward to the next book.
Witches, Fae and magical creatures. Funny, mysterious and danger lurking around corners. Missing kings and more questions than answers. Good series and can't wait to read the next book. Happy for now.
Really loving this series! Callie, Shade and Willa are fantastic characters. I love the romantic friction between Callie and Shade as well. Can't wait to read the next one.
Over the first two books in the series-enjoying seeing the characters become more developed with each book-Really appreciate having an older heroine and the slow burn going on - Can’t wait for the rest of the series…
I really liked this story, the second book in this very interesting series. I do have one problem---it needs a better proof reader, way to many mistakes word wise.
The book and storyline are good, but there are several grammatical errors and a few times where the wrong character name is used. Overall a good series
This storyline gets better and better. The characters keep giving so much and it’s a joy to listen to. Krys really helps me bond with the personalities in this book.
