Power is only transferred, never lost.

For the first time in shifter history, our community is plagued by internal conflict. Packs are turning on each other. Rogues are under the control of an unknown force. And a power vacuum has left all of us with no clear path to peace.

I already lost my mate to the chaos, but there’s no time to grieve.

As my sister comes to terms with her place in our family’s legacy, I’m ripped away to a secret community that intends to transfer ultimate power to me.

It’s not the life I envisioned, and training for the role means facing dangers I’m not prepared for. It also brings me face-to-face with Paxton Glass.

I don’t want a second chance, especially not with someone like the enigmatic fighter who doesn’t know how to take no for an answer.

But the fates always have their say.

Due North is the second full-length novel in The Northern Shifter Legacies series and is best read after book one, True North. The story concludes with Tevin’s story in book three. This series ends in a HEA for all three couples.

Paxton Glass has been on a hunt for his fated mate. It’s been a long hunt for him because his mate ended up being the replacement Luna Sovereign which is a pretty big deal and she is highly guarded and is kept isolated.
So when he finally gets the chance to meet her face-to-face, things don’t go as planned when she doesn’t have that instant knowledge or connection that he is her mate.

“She’s clearly too caught up about the mate she lost for her wolf to feel the bond with me. This situation is completely fucked.
And now I’ve gone and stolen the replacement Luna sovereign.”

Tasha was already mated to one wolf. (The story behind that is in book one.)
So she’s in absolute denial over this rogue Wolf that’s stepped onto her pack lands and claiming he’s her mate too… Even if her wolf is finally speaking for the first time since the death of her first mate.

Paxton can’t wait. He refuses to leave her again and possibly lose the chase to find her again. And kidnaps her.
It’s not a easy relationship. It is a slow build up. And as frustrating as that is for Paxton and his wolf, he does have respect for her to not make the claim official.
“I don’t understand what I missing. I thought getting to my meet would be as easy as finding and claiming her. “

Besides the relationship, there is a bigger issue and that is the Jarreau family is being sought after and not in a good way. From reading book one and book two, both sisters have some type of abnormal super-power that definitely helps them in a time of need. Like a protective orb.

Tasha needs help. And Paxton being a rogue who has no desire to find his family, she’s really left doing things with or without his help. And she does end up finding the help through his family and her own… Paxton eventually being in the same team as his mate.
“ If she needs me to prove I can lift her up like a queen, then that’s what I will do. If it means I’m pandering to this idea that bringing my family together will somehow fix all of us.. we’ll do that too. It doesn’t really matter to me anymore if it’s rational or not. If that’s what Tosha wants, I’ll give it to her. I’ll do anything to keep her. Fighting dirty didn’t seem to work so maybe now it’s time I let her take the lead. She was chosen to be Luna Sovereign for a reason.”

The book leaves off on a opening for a book 3 which will be new characters. And I’m excited to continue the story!

Second mates and angst filled fate

It’s taken me a few days to write this review, I’ve come back to it repeatedly trying to write a review to show this book justice but it’s hard to express how much I loved about this book!

If you’ve read the first book in this series than you’ve me both characters Tasha and Paxton. Tasha is Tess’s sister and Paxton is briefly mentioned towards the end in Tess’s book. From the first book I was hooked with this world! It’s original, thought out, and captivating! This isn’t your average fated mate wolf shifter book, it’s so much more!

Tasha has already had a mate and lost him in a rogue attack and thinks she can’t possibly have a second mate. Paxton is a rogue and has been on his own for a while but once he saw Tasha he knew she was his. Their story isn’t easy, they both have very distinct and stubborn personalities but complement each other so well! They balance each other out.

I loved how much was involved in this story from the action, mystery, magical elements, spicy romance, and more it was all amazing! The angst and build up with not only the characters and their development but the thickening plot as well is *chefs kiss*. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series to see where it goes

This book was ok..... It is part of a 3 book series around 3 siblings each with their own book and trying to solve a mystery. This book left a lot of questions unanswered that I hope we will get in the next book. After now reading 2 books the questions are multiplying and still unanswered. Especially ones that are specific to this book and these characters we still have no answers for. IT makes me feel like the 3rd book will be extremely rushed in order to wrap up all of these storylines somewhat neatly. Given the time before book 3 will be released I am not sure that I will return to this series for the answers.

I started book one yesterday and just finished this one. This series is so good. I absolutely love Paxton and Tasha. I love how the story flows from one book through the next even with the change of couples from book to book. Definitely worth the time to read!!

3.5 stars. Enjoyable but way too many questions must be answered in book three.
I started off thinking Paxton was a jerk but it didn’t take long for me to like him once his family dynamics were told.
He was gruff, frightening and brutal, only showing his softer side rarely and actually a very caring individual if only towards Tasha.
Now Tasha in book one was a caring, motherly individual. Looking after her sister even after the loss of her mate.
I wasn’t surprised she was the new Luna Sovereign, it felt apt.
BUT, her constant rejection of Paxton as her second chance mate was cruel at times. Even her wolf came out of mourning and tried to tell her the truth.
Her stubbornness went on way too long and turned me off her. Though I did like her powers. But how come Tess learnt to control hers whilst Tasha never tried to learn?
The story was entertaining and had a lot happening that continued from book one.
But we are left with too many questions once again, some of which will hopefully be answered in the last book.
But questions pertinent from this book were not answered.
What did they do with the half a million dollars?
How did they cover up all those human deaths?
Why did ALL the Sovereign pack run? Doesn’t matter if they were disbanded by their alpha, they swore an oath to protect the Luna Sovereign herself, so I don’t believe they all would have scattered so widely.
Tasha exposed her wolf to the humans. They were dealt with but what about those still inside the building.
The baddie is of course alive to continue his actions.
Read through Kindle Unlimited.

Stopped at 65%

Horrible character. Tasha is rude, unreasonable, vindictive, and relentless on attacking her mate paxton. I get her first mate died. I get she's experiencing change but she was unnecessarily cruel. It honestly caught me by surprise at how much I dislike her character because I thought it would be Paxton I didn't like, considering the start of the story. It changed to Tasha and by 40% I was thinking about abandoning this book because the story doesn't move. Its just her bashing Paxton, playing games and being cruel to her new mate. I thought surely at 40% this will turn around and I'll be happy I read it. I got as far as 65% and I'm done. It didn't move forward. Just constant angst. I won't read the 3rd book either.

Well, this book was just one surprise after another.

I had suspected what would happen, going by the blurb for this book, but nothing prepared me for what unfolded.

It's safe to say that when the book started, I wasn't a fan of Paxton. I liked Tess' assessment of him at the end of True North but getting into his head shed more light on him. He was fine at the start but progressively got worse as time went on with his attitude toward his bond with Tasha. I mean, I get it but Tasha had to either run away or force him to see reason for a long time before he actually started to listen to her and respect her. But he did eventually start listening to her. Granted, it was after she had marked him by accident in the heat of the moment. But by the end, I did like him. I kind of wished for more by the end but I know their story isn't over yet. The drama of their relationship is but their story isn't. And that will be continued from Tevin's point of view.

Before I talk about my theories with him, I'd like to say that I liked Tasha's personality. She's the type who is used to taking care of other, who feels her instincts pulling her to that end, and she often forgets that she needs to be taken care of too. When she finally accepts Paxton, it becomes clear to her why the fates chose him for her. It was around this time that I started to like him more as I saw how they could work together when Paxton isn't trying to force Tasha into a position and Tasha isn't fighting to keep away from him. I was worried about Tasha for a while considering her position and the clear dislike Waverly had for her. I wasn't the least bit surprised when things came out about how Waverly had betrayed the Luna Sovereign. It's still not clear who killed her but I'm starting to have suspicions.

In the last book, Callum was a, sort of, major character because of his feelings for Tess. He is featured a bit in this book but only for brief interactions that usually sent Paxton snarling at him to go away. The one time Callum and Tess were in the same area, that I knew of, was after the run-in with Jeff Langston. And he brushed Tess aside so he could hug Tasha. I suppose that means he's getting over his feelings for her but he's going from having Dominic staring at him like he's ready to kill him, to Paxton doing the same anytime he's within arms reach of Tasha. He's becoming less and less important.

Now, regarding Tevin. At the end of this book, there is a small chapter that is told from the perspective of Tevin's mystery companion. I have a theory as to who that is but I'll discover that shortly. The part I want to focus on is the hint as to what Tevin has been up to in the months he's been, essentially, a rogue. According to his companion, they had been pretty much on the morally gray side of things. And judging by what Tevin does in this small chapter, I'd say so. But it's also clear that everything he is doing is to protect his sisters so I can't fault him for it. I'm just curious how his dynamic with his mate is going to be. Because that is who I think is with him. His mate. And I have a pretty good idea who she is. I can't wait to see if I'm right.

So far, I am loving this series and in this book, I got to see Quinn and her men again for a brief moment when Paxton goes to confide in her regarding his mate bond with Tasha. Shortly after, it's Mason we see a bit of. Paxton stated that Mason was the "nicer" of the twins but from my experience in their book, Ian was the nicer and more friendly one while Mason was more reserved. So I'm not sure if that was a mistake or what. Regardless, it's interesting to see their group through someone else's eyes.

I can't wait to see Tevin's story as his will be what closes this series off. And I can't wait to see if I'm right about who he ended up with.

💋 PNR/Shifters
💋 POV
💋 The Northern Shifter Legacies, book 2

STEAM LEVEL: 🔥🔥🔥
🅁🄰🅃🄸🄽🄶: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Never have I ever read an “opposites attract” romance quite as fitting to this story. Add in the emotional turmoil of our FMC, Tasha, the anger and resentment in our MMC, Paxton, a fan-freaking-tasting plot that carries on flawlessly from True North, and what you end up with, y’all, is this masterpiece of angsty, shifter, soulful vibes I can’t get enough of. 😭😍

My heart. Oh gosh, my heart is aching. I thought Dominic and Tess were angsty but this is a whole new level! I wanted to strangle AND hug both our MCs so many times but I also understood thoroughly where they each came from. Tasha was sweet but firm and observant but extroverted. Paxton was rogue but deeply loving and burned but willing to compromise. It was a long, sexually tense, emotionally draining romance of epic proportions.

I loved everything from the romance to the plot! So many things are happening and while it’s PNR it feels realistic. The story is average in length but flows so effortless it was devoured. I’m also obsessed with the Glass family and NEED IT ALL.

I’m so freaking glad I discovered this brand new author and series. Make sure you start with True North! You’re welcome. 🤘🏻

Kelsey, this book, wow. I love the detail, though and depth Kelsey has put into the world building for this series. Every word pulls you in, immerses your senses and pulls at my heart. I honestly didn't think I could love anyone more than Dominic but be still me heart Paxton has claimed it

A rogue wolf, who's spent his life living in the fast lane, carefree, without anyone to answer to, no orders to follow. Then he captures his mate in his sight and instantly knows things will stand in his way of claiming her. He learns the hard way that he can't follow his caveman instinct, storm in and make her his. I completely adore him once we see his softer side he is just *chef kiss* perfect, he is such a well rounded wolf.

Tasha bless her broken heart has spent most of her life mourning her after he was savagely taken before their life together had even had a chance to begin. In her pain and anguish she turned to taking care of everyone around her instead of herself. Fate always had a plan but Tasha can't believe she has a second mate after everything shes been through. I love how her wolf demands that she puts them first and looks after them rather than everyone else giving her the chance to have happiness again. The chance to grow and find herself with Paxton at her side.

We get some answers in this amazing book bit there is still far more to be unearthed. I know Tevin's book will definitely give us more but will it be all of them?? Only time will tell.

How do I even start to describe how I feel after this?! Like I can't even begin to tell you how much love I have for this world! I didn't think anyone could top Dominic for me, but Paxton is just something else!

Paxton has spent his life alone, a rogue wolf who loved his life living in the fast lane, nobody to answer to, nobody to tell him what to do or where to be, until he lays eyes on his mate. Nothing is going to stand in is way of getting her. But he doesn't realise that it's not going to be as easy as storming in there like a caveman and claiming what's his (although he tries 😂) but the softer side of Paxton comes out, and OH MY HEART. THIS MAN. THIS WOLF. He just does things to me 😍🥵

When Tasha loses her mate she believes that she's in for a lonely life mourning her mate, but then fate brings along a second mate, although she finds it hard to believe at first. Tasha has spent her life looking after everyone else, but what happens when her wolf demands she starts looking after them instead? Putting their happiness first for a change, she has a chance to grow with Paxton at her side 🥰

We also see our beloved Tess and Dominic! And Luca 😍😍 we get some answers in this installment but there's still lots of secrets and mysteries surrounding the Jarreaus and I can't wait for Tevin's book now 😍😍

I need more!

Paxton Glass was sent by fate to hunt for his mate, Tasha Jarreau. The only problem is that Tasha already found her mate and lost him when he was killed by a rogue wolf while protecting his pack’s alpha. When Paxton finally catches up and finds Tasha he discovers that she’s been named as the new Luna Sovereign. He tries to talk to her to explain to her that she is his mate, but when she meets him for the first time she thinks he’s there to harm her. Paxton sure had his work cut out for him trying to convince Tasha that they were meant to be.

This book was a second chance book for a couple who both thought they’d be alone. Paxton because he chose to live life as a rogue, and Tasha because she just couldn’t see life without her first mate, Jimmy. Their story is one full of danger and building of trust between the two. It was definitely a wild ride. This book was just as good as the first book, True North. The Northern Shifter Legacies series is a great read, I cannot wait for the third book to be released so I will get more of this amazing shifter series.

So impressed the author gave this book more steam and smut, Paxton whew, its hot 🔥 in here. War and Warriors book in this story is getting interesting, I'm wondering if Tevin or Maren added the photo to the book. I'm also wondering what happened to the black magic book that went missing in book 1 from Luna Sovereign's library. The plot continues to thicken in the wonderful story of lies, betrayal, deceit, and secrets it's full of mysterious things. What's happening to all the Rogues unrest ? Who returned the War book after Jeff got ashed by Tasha ? Who is with Tevin, and what are they doing with Alpha Waverley's body and eyes ? There's a hea and multiple povs. I enjoyed the large glass family and returning characters from book 1. There is also Mason and Quinn from this author's other book Cupids pack overlapping this story's as its the same town and world of characters meeting up and hashing out the unrest with mates and Rogues. Cupids Pack series was published after this series, so I'm reading in published order. These books 📚 have got me engrossed and have me very engaged as I love the magic Tess and Tasha have inherited and hope to find out in the next book if Tavin has a special gift too.

Due North was EVERYTHING!!! I am completely in love with these characters and this world. Paxton oh my stars this man/wolf gives me all the feels. Being the rogue wolf and living his life on his own terms is something to behold. I love him and dare I say he edged his way into my heart a bit more than Dominic and we all know Dom was seriously everything! The moment Pax lays eyes on his mate he is done for thinking he can just claim her and storm in like he owns the place except that is not how its about to go down. Tasha, my heart completely broke for what she has been through losing her mate and going through life mourning her love and living a lonely life and then the stars grant her a second chance at love with another mate. These two together were fire. The slow burn the feeling the emotions you can feel everything! This rogue wolf found his Queen and he was going to do everything in his power to prove that to her. This was such a fantastic follow up to book 1 and there is still so much mystery swirling around and I cant wait for the next book.

good quick read

I finish this book last night and I had to wait to write this review because my feelings where all over the place. The potline just like the first book was great it was so good there’s so much action kept you thinking the mystery is great. The love story is where I’m getting confused. Tasha, In the first book is dipped as this mother the fixer of the family the one who’s always there by your side, she keeps running away from Paxton even know her wolf says he’s the one and it’s just so frustrating. I love Paxton he’s your bad boy only good for your girl guy. He’s loyal to her constantly looking out for her and listening to her still a little bit of the bad boy with her which is lovely. She just what is annoying again it’s like 5060% of the book until she finally says OK I think I might like you I don’t know I’m gonna try it. The love story is exactly verbatim what the first one was.

I will read the third one when he comes out with everything being said hopefully the love story is different than the first two books will see.

Unpalatable characters

I've never encountered characters so absolutely unlikable. One would think I would at least enjoy the story, the writing, something! Honestly I preferred going through labor, sans epidural and meds of any kind to Tasha and Paxton. Anthony in "Consequences" had redeeming factors and he scared the crap out of me. Mister from "Color Purple" will go down as the biggest jerk off ever written imo - but I loved him compared to how much I LOATHED Paxton. I won't even get in pitiful a** Becky, or was it Karen ( 2020 did not invent that term-we just shared it with company-women like that have been Karen since this Gen Zer was born)? My bad - Tasha. Darn it, I not wasting more life on this, I have a global pandemic to suffer.

An Enjoyable read

I enjoyed this book but I didn't find myself as invested in it as book one. There was something not quite there for me to really feel Tasha and Braxton as a couple.

The storyline was enjoyable and there is still a lot of intrigue about the Jarreau siblings that has me wanting to read the next book. Though I would have liked to have seen a bit of Tevin in this book or the last for me to really feel a connection to him through his interactions with his siblings.

This book is a stand alone for the couple and their dynamic but does need to be read as book two to get the most from it.

I agree with some other readers reviews about this story being xtra elongated .I would've forgone the first few chapters they don't endear neither Paxton nor Tasha but after that I actually quite enjoyed the story .
The mystery surrounding the Jarreaus continue and the plot thickens when the Sovereign Luna doesn't get the protection she's meant by the Sovereign pack , Add in all the rogue attacks and the humans involvements discovery and you won't be able to put this book down.
I'm interested to see what Paxton's family 's role in all this. Saying that I'm off to reading the next book to find out.
I hope we'll get To the bottom of the family secret in Tevin's book

It was fine. I almost DNFd but I like the overall plot line so I pushed through. There’s still a lot of unanswered questions and I’m curious how the author is going to wrap it up in book 3 when it’s shorter.

I did not like this MMC at all. He’s even more petulant and entitled than book 1 MMC—a feat. He has no respect for her and treats her like property which the FMC calls him out on. Authors constantly like to use the mate bond as an excuse to violate autonomy and it is so tired. Find another means of creating tension.

At this point I’m only reading for the plot line resolution. It’s different enough that it has my interest.

So if you’ve read True North then you’ll know some of characters already. Due North follow’s Tess’ sister Tasha.

I really enjoyed this one. I liked that it wasn’t the usual “instant” love, the connection was there but work had to go into it, and that’s what you see throughout the book. Both Tasha and Paxton trying to over come different things to get to a point where they can work together. It was great 🙌🏼

I gotta say though, 2 books in and I’m still not sure what’s going on 🤣🙈 But I’m looking forward to HOPEFULLY finding out more with book 3, now we know who that’s about!

Interesting plot and lots of yummyness!

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series and am excitedly waiting for the last book. The story is interesting and engaging, the love making scenes are steamy and hot and the characters are flawed enough to be realistic. Gamble has created a wonderful community with plenty of originality to make it her own. Well done Kelsey as thank you. Xx

Good

Paxton at first is extremely frustrating. Pushing a grieving Tasha much too hard. Tasha does very well dealing with him and her grief. The mystery is the best part. I like the Glass family. Peter and Leah are very interesting. The Jarreaus manage to best back one mess only to have another more dangerous situation pop up. In the end Paxton comes through for Tasha. I can't wait for the next book. There are a lot of loose ends.

XXX! Tosha is just surviving. Selected by fate to be the next Luna Sovereign. No prior Lunar Sovereign has had a mate. Tosha just lost her mate. When the Fates bring her Paxton, her second chance fated mate, Tosha is unsure whether to accept him or not. Paxton, however, has no such qualms. He will do everything in his power to keep Tosha, including and not limited to kidnapping and killing. To be fair he only kills those trying to harm Tosha. So….it’s more like extreme protection, right?

loved this book!

I read the first in the series just from curiosity but the story caught me and I’ve continued on through this one. The story, characters, and world itself is described beautifully and intricately so that it draws you in and keeps you interested. Going on to read the third book now!

This was much better than the first book. The hero was overprotective, but much more amenable to change and respecting the heroine. I enjoyed the familial relationships in this and how Tasha's strength was her compassionate nature. Overall though, I was just not that into this, and the audiobook readers were still terrible. I will not be finishing the series.

Loving 🥰 this series. A book a day isn't bad. I love the new found strength found in the FMC of this book. The rough and gruff edges of the MMC. The balance and symmetry between them. The new world they are all building together.
