More Than Anything is a five-week study on the topic of idolatry. Over the course of this study, we will take an in-depth look at the idolatry historically displayed in Scripture along with common ways we continue to struggle with idolatry today. There are many things vying for the affections of the heart, but only God can truly fulfill our needs and satisfy every longing. Our hope as we walk through God's Word is that we would identify and uproot any idols we have and that we would find ourselves loving God more than anything else.
This was a wonderful study, focusing on all the many ways we create idols in our modern lives (many times things we don't even realize). This would be great as an individual study; although, I was blessed to be in a group of about 15 women and the discussions sparked by the book were a blessing to all of us. It's important to remember that the focus of the book should be internal, what idols do I have to tear downin my life? Versus pointing the finger at those around me and finding their faults. I love thedailygraceco, all the studies I've completed so far have been truly wonderful!
Wow! This is one my favorite Bible studies by Daily Grace Co! This study helps identify and get to the root of potential idols in your life and leads you to love God more than anything. The daily studies are honest, convicting, and full of great scripture and questions that help you dig deep. If you’ve never done a Daily Grace study before, this would be a great one to start with. Highly recommended!!
While the theology is solid, the content was disappointing. I want to go deep in Gods Word. This study could easily be a 5 day plan in the youversion bible app. Dragging it out to 5 weeks was unnecessary. Each week was repetitive of the prior. Every question the same: is this an idol in your life? Do you love this more than God?
The book was a beautiful esthetically pleasing format. But empty on content.
Certainly one of my favorite Bible studies from the DailyGraceCo!
Each day reviewed a different facet of life that, though initially good, can easily turn into an idol that we place or somehow trust above God. Each day served as a reminder of human nature’s tendency to seek fulfillment and satisfaction in things other than Jesus. The book ends with a diagnostic test to dig deep into what idols most easily steal our personal attention and what this reveals about our hearts.
A very comprehensive study covering a wide variety of manmade idols. I found this to be rebuking, yet uplifting. Content was great, but I would have liked to see more practical/tangible suggestions on ways to combat idolatry. Also, the review questions were typical of a Daily Grace study — repetitive and shallow.
It was a good study on the topic of idolatry; however, it was very repetitive. It made it hard to want to finish the book. On a positive note, it is biblical-based. I liked the various topics of idolatry and I agree with others that it is convicting.
The daily grace co has great studies that aren’t overwhelming but have good content. This was a great one to focus on areas in my life that are taking God’s place.
