The third and final book in the trilogy is a satisfying conclusion to the series.
The life of Isabel Fielding is being made into a movie in this book. However, the stirring up of old wounds and new ‘crazies’ collide in this twisted plot. Leah, Tom and Seb all feature and there are some interesting conclusions and some that I did find unexpected.
Staying true to the torrid, psychologically damaged characters and warped plot; the tight, gripping writing and a definite conclusion; make this an all-round psychological thriller series.
I honestly don't know why this was written . The characters have no depth. It's like it was written very quickly with no thought to format. There's so much going on that this could have been divided into three novels. I thought it was about the film but I'm halfway through and there isn't much reference to it. My advice is don't bother. It's a total waste of time. I'm being kind.
Finished the third and final!!!! I don’t want to give spoilers but I’ll say it ends how a series like this should!!!! Anyone who knows me knows what will drive me the most out of my mind ever in scary movies or thrillers and I will rant and be on it about what should happen how dumb and how it always goes that way BUT not this!!!! There were also many twists and turns that I was not expecting and it keeps you in it till the end!!! I truly loved this trilogy and recommend it as free distraction / escape reading and entertainment ! I took it with me to a training this week because they often give 15 min breaks and I wanted to read during that time ....well absolutely unexpected but I sold someone on it and they ordered the trilogy on break ... I told them if they didn’t like it I didn’t want to hear it cause I like it lol!!! No I hope they enjoy it and look forward to their review!!! I recommend this and the other works by @sarahadenzil
The most wanted dangerous female serial killer is still a threat even behind the bars of an all female maximum prison. Don’t underestimate her abilities she’s escaped before. The UK has lived in fear of this girl for too long.
It’s a matter of outwit, outplay, and outlast your opponents in this dangerous game of murder.
Throughout all this madness Leah is determined to climb her way out of mucky madness by reaching for a lighter.
Overall: That same sense of danger still lingers even with Isabel locked away in prison. The same level of cunningness and planning is still present. Each book was written with the same skill of a talented writer. Sarah crafts her artistic skills with illustrative words. This was a dialogue driven story focusing on multiple characters. The story had multiple points of view.
I was pulled in right from the beginning. Sarah gave me a sense of comfort. Then she ripped the rug out from under me with her powerful words.
Following the lives of Leah and Isabel after Isabel escaped the hospital and went to prison is a road full of sharp turns and twisted roads. I never get tired of Isabel’s character. Her ability to thrive and survive even with the walls of a prison is a true testament to the true power she has. Her patience, her intelligence, and her connections are her true strengths.
Each chapter ends with that dun dun dun thus causing the reader to quickly turn the page diving back into this thrilling world of psychotic characters.
The anticipation of knowing Sarah upped the story with some form of dangerous scene was thrilling. Add in the characters behaviors, actions and feelings and this cocktail sets the pace for something sinister.
Sarah conjured up a good list of suspects, all very convincing. My mind was plagued with similar thoughts. I love the angle of toying with my emotions by stating how a characters upbringing or genes could contribute to the need to murder or kill. Everything stated was very thought provoking and realistic.
The story focused on the suspicious behaviors of the characters leaving out the graphic details of the murders. The few bread crumbs that were placed still had the reader questioning everything.
Three for A Girl is the final book in the Isabel Fielding series. What a great way to end the series. Each book was thrilling and exciting.
Wow when you think Sarah A Denzil can't go any darker!
This is a such a disturbing dark trilogy, the suspense grips you straight from the start. If you can stomach it, it's best to read the three one after another as there is details from the first book I kept forgetting and could have done with reading it again to bring me up to speed. I read book 2 and 3 back to back and that helped to keep the continuity.
Simply brilliant writing, but I don't think I could have put myself through a fourth book, heaven knows what it must be like to write it. I think I would have nightmares!
This author can do no wrong in my books (see what I did there!).
I can't believe it's all over now!!. This trilogy has been fantastic!!. I've been on the edge of my seat ,wondering what will happen next!!. I've never found anything predictable!!. The suspense Sarah creates is great!!. There's always a build up to things and then you're hooked!!!!.
I'm kind of glad this is the last book in the series because there are times that Denzil is clearly running out of inspiration for this story. Bit of a disappointment, unfortunately,
Really enjoyed this final instalment of the series, to catch up with the characters and see where their lives have taken them whilst always on the lookout for Isabel. Glad she got her just desserts in the end.would be nice to know how Leah and seb carried on and where life took them. Wpuld recommend the whole series
Too long since reading book two and too many other similar books read in between. Not sure if any of the characters became likable in book three, but there was resolution if not vindication for Leah.
Moves pretty good once I could remember why I was reading the book.
What a disaster after Books 1 and 2 Such a disappointment after the first two in this series! So ridiculously predictable, boring and slow. This one just didn’t have the precision and suspense as the first two. Jumping from too many ludicrous subplots and an abundance of unneeded characters, it made this a convoluted mess. Ugh! What a catastrophe. Even narrator Jasmine Blackborow couldn’t save this one. I’m still confused, probably because I don’t care…. With two more hours to go, it’s time to jump to the last chapter and/or Google “Three for a Girl.” I paid $11+ and did not use a treasured credit. I don’t return books I pay for.
The final installment of the slasher series. At the start, Isabel is incarcerated but we know this can only be a temporary confinement. Sure enough, it doesn't take her long to break out of a high security prison. The body count begins to rise yet again as Isabel and her brother, Scott, escape to their uncle's in Thailand, aided and abetted by their mother. However, it isn't long before they return to the UK, managing to outsmart and evade all checks. At this point, I have to admit that I found myself wondering why I was still reading these books. What follows is basically a rerun of the previous two books with Isabel intent on finishing the job with Leah. The trilogy ends as we always knew it would and I'm grateful to the author for not indulging in twists or leaving the reader to make up their minds as to what happens. An OK series but not particularly scary or tense.
╭──── 🌿 Isabel Fielding Series Book 1-3 by Sarah A. Denzil ╰ ❝Good morning, Mr Magpie. It was my father who’d always said it. Then he used to wave. One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy.❞ - One For Sorrow (Book #1)
╭──── 🌿 A B O U T – T H E – B O O K : This series is a psychological thriller that follows Leah Smith, a psychiatric nurse at Crowmont Hospital, where she is assigned to care for Isabel Fielding, a young woman convicted of a horrific crime. Leah becomes suspicious of Isabel's guilt as she gets to know her, seeing a kind and innocent person instead of a murderer. Determined to find out the truth, Leah begins to investigate, suspecting Isabel might have been framed. As she delves deeper, Leah's own dark past and psychological struggles come to light, complicating her quest for justice. The novels explore themes of obsession, guilt, and the blurred lines between right and wrong, with suspenseful twists that keep readers on edge.

This series I think changed my brain chemistry. lol The amount of twists and turns and WTF moments had me wrapped up until the very last page of the series. I honestly loved Sarah's writing style as well. Going to pick up more books from her for sure! Highly recommend!
3.5. I couldn't even tell you why I read the whole trilogy. It wasn't amazing, but it kept me coming back. I guess she is just a good story teller? I fight realize until now that this is the same author as Poison Orchids. I assumed that was an Aussie author. 🤷🏻♀️
This series kinda lost me, i loved book one, i was invested in the characters right till the end, it made me emotional, but i was putting this books aside a lot and reading something else because i didn’t really want to read it, it felt dragged out through the series.
Somewhere between book 1 and 2, so 3.5 starts. There was quite a bit of repetition. I didn't like that nearly everybody turned out to be a murderer or psychopath and how Leah was forgiving Tom. Also, which doctor doesn't have a test to pee on? But the story in itself was conclusive.
Though I'm happy with the ending and everything is tied up with no questions or loose ends I find I'm going to miss the characters. From the sadness at Tom's reveled true self to the love Seb show I feel like I've grown with the characters. I even cared about Isabell and fought with Leah. I loved every twist and turn this trillagy took me on.
I don't know what the prison system is like in the UK, but here in the states it's pretty hard for serial killers to escape, especially as easily as Isabel did.
Leah is finally leading a somewhat normal life with Seb (who is the only character in the book I truly liked), and she finds out they're making a movie about Isabel. Then everything is back to chaos.
The biggest problem I have with Leah is that she's so gullible. For someone who escaped a serial killer (more than once!), she's awfully quick to trust, and almost always quickly betrayed.
Isabel has grown less interesting across the three books, mostly just reactionary in this one. I guess I expected more from her?
The ending was satisfying, I was happy with where the characters ended up for the most part, especially Isabel and Tom.
I loved this from start to finish what an amazing ending to a fantastic series.
I’m not really great at writing reviews really I’m one of those that never actually tell you what’s going on in the books because I give way way too much away ha ha. So read it and find out for yourself.
I have sat and read this whilst feeding my new born I really didn’t want to put it down. So many twists and turns and things I wasn’t expecting.
I highly recommended it’s now one of the top of my unputdownable reads
Thank you Sarah for so many amazing books you are fantastic I love each and everyone of them.
This is the third installment in the Isobel Fielding series (and you need to have read the previous two) and as with the others is a total page turner.
The characters are so well written, they are complex, human, and even downright evil! The story deals well with the issues of mental health and complex families. Like the others I read this in one sitting, I tried to ration it but I couldn't put it down! It's a really good fast paced thriller, highly recommended.
Denzil is a fantastic author and I am looking forward to reading more from her in this genre.
Another brilliant story from this author, this time, the concluding part of a macabre thriller, where insanity lurks around every corner.
There are plenty of strong characters in the series, some with dark pasts, and yet, not all decide they want to kill.
Themes such as insanity, incest, sexual abuse and murder make this a disturbing read, although it highlights the balance between good and evil and the choices before us.
It's very well written with only a few typos; its fast pace sweeps the words in a typhoon of energy that can leave us breathless at times.
