3.5 Obsessive Need Stars ⭐

The sweetness is so at odds with how rough he was in bed, and I find the combination intoxicating.

Bratva Enforcer Oleg has a crush. Not exactly a term you’d associate with this brute of a man. It’s completely at odds with everything he represents. Yet each week he visits Rue’s Lounge to watch his girl sing. Not that they’ve exchanged any words, but they have an uncommunicated understanding.

It would be impossible not to notice the beast of a man who watches her perform weekly. Story Taylor daydreams about Oleg who’s appointed himself her protector even if they haven’t officially met.

But after months of glances, the one time that Oleg steps in to offer Story assistance, their lives collide both romantically and momentously.

“You’re like a big daddy bear who spanks and then cuddles. I’m definitely going to be your bad girl.”

With Oleg’s past back to haunt him, it is unfortunate that Story is caught in the crossfire. Now his protection is necessary, and he has no intention of letting her go. It is now a matter of helping Story overcome her aversion to love to convince her to stay.

Judging from my rating you would think I didn’t enjoy The Enforcer but that’s not the case. This book was one of the sweetest mafia romances I’ve read in a while. Featuring a mute hero completely enamoured with his girl, it was difficult not to swoon.

The romance was top notch and the sex delicious, yet the story itself lacked depth. Had this story been a little more intense, it would have been spot on.

Olge has got to be mg fave guy in this series!!!! Our rough tough enforcer who is mute is everything you want in a man!!

He is obessed with his girl Story a musician who plays at a bar he stalks making sure he's always at her show listening to her sing and rock out. And I enjoyed how he was protective of her. Being her "bodyguard" and making sure nothing bad happens. Now hes slowly making his move. Their is alot of sexual tension and alittle frustration with the two since he can't really communicate very well since he doesn't know sign language or letters. But that doesnt stop the two from moving forward.

But beside them being so cute together someone is trying to kill Ogle and they try to use Story.  Now hes on a mission to make sure his past doesn't kill him and show Story he's her forever Rock.

Low angst, no ow/om drama, no cheating, Slight secondary character, drama, sexy times, no virgins or manwhore

Coming Friday, April 1st!

“Do you want to come in?”
His heated brown gaze rakes down my body, but he shakes his head. I’m surprised how much his refusal disappoints me. I mean, I guess I thought he was a sure thing. There’s no way I read this thing wrong, is there?
I face him and lean in, standing on tiptoe to throw an arm around his neck and tipping my face up to his. “Why not?”
He freezes, his big body going rigid.
If I didn’t feel his erection prodding my belly, I would think he wasn’t into it. But he is.
“Why are you holding back?” I whisper. I pull his head down and close my lips over his, tasting him.
He remains rigid for one second.
Two.
“Please,” I ask, needing him to know I want this.
And then he surges to life. My back slams against the wall beside my door as Oleg unleashes the months of pent-up attraction between us. One beefy hand cups my ass, the other captures my nape, and he claims my mouth like it’s his last chance at breathing.
My core instantly turns molten. I grind down on the leg he thrust between mine, kissing him back with as much frantic need as he’s giving. I don’t feel his tongue, but I use mine—probably too sloppily. He kneads my ass, helping me hump his leg.
I reach out to open my door then grab a fistful of Oleg’s black t-shirt—the one stretched taut over his broad shoulders and chiseled pecs and try to tug him into my apartment.
Try is the operative word here.
Because Oleg doesn’t move.
The pulse between my legs makes me antsy. “Come inside,” I encourage.
He shakes his head.
What… the F?
“Oleg, come inside,” I say it more like an order now. I mean, this guy’s into me. He’s going to give me what I need, right?
He shakes his head again then mimes drinking.
Aw, fuck.
Really?
“You won’t touch me because I’ve been drinking?”
He nods.
He’s that much of a gentleman?
“That’s… sweet.”
Really, really sweet.
“And annoying. Oleg, you can’t do this to me,” I reason, tugging fistfuls of his shirt. “That kiss just got me all hot and bothered. You can’t leave me all needy. It’s not fair.”
His brows go down again. Jaw clenches. He wipes his lower lip with his thumb, eyes dropping to my mouth. I can see him struggling. The guy who respects me versus the guy who doesn’t want to deny me. And also there’s the guy who’s going to have blue balls, himself. Because I felt his boner, and it was rock hard.
Like before, the moment he makes his decision, he surges into action. He crowds me backward, into my one-bedroom apartment, then kicks the door shut and locks it.

3.5 stars!

This is the third book in the Chicago Bratva series and features Oleg and Story. It can be read as a standalone but you will get more enjoyment out of it if you read the previous books in the series.

Oleg has watched Story every time she has preformed at the bar with her band and is entranced with her unique beauty and spirit. Oleg, having no tongue because his previous employer cut it out, keeps to himself and refuses to forge emotional relationships with the people around him that his loyalty belongs to. He is a formidable man that instills fear in those that don't know him and doesn't think he deserves much in life. Story is the one thing he wishes he deserved. Story searches for Oleg every time she performs and sees him as her protector and safety blanket.

After a show one night, Oleg's past comes back to haunt him and Story gets caught in the crossfire. From that moment, Oleg knows he must protect her at all costs. But protecting her means being closer to her than he's ever been and the fire between them ignites. They get lost in their attraction to each other and both are scared of the future. Story is afraid that he will abandon her, as her childhood and teen years she saw a revolving door of men in her mother's life. Oleg doesn't know how he can be something for someone with how damaged is. But the more time they spend together, the more they start to hope for a better future.

Can Oleg put the ghosts to rest of his past and protect Story? Can Story put her faith in Oleg and create a happy life together? What will Oleg's current employer and partners think of his past?

Oleg was a much sweeter hero than I was expecting and his teddy bear attitude towards Story made me love him. Story was a fun and strong character. The storyline was decent and wrapped up nicely. It was steamy and kinky. I found the story a little boring at some points but overall, a decent read.

How do you communicate with someone that has no tongue? Story and Oleg have figured it out and what a love story it turned out to be. We have seen Oleg in the past two books and know that he is a sweet guy underneath all the gruff. We also knew that it would take a certain woman to bring it out for him. Story is that woman.

Story is a songstress that Oleg goes to every Saturday to watch sing at the local bar. He is her unknown bodyguard. But one night he makes himself really known when Story needs a drive home. These two communicate on a whole other level when it comes to real love. For once Oleg is understood and takes Story for his girl back to the "Kremlin" so that everyone can meet her and understand what is going on.

There is just something about when one of the people in the relationship can't express themselves properly. It takes an extra special person to take the time to want to know that other person. That is Story and Oleg's love story. These two are beautiful together. I loved this story, and I can't wait to see where Renee takes us next.

MY OBSESSION—MY BEAUTIFUL SWALLOW

Once again, Ms. Renee Rose has spun a fantastic tale. The story is the third in the Chicago Bratva series but could read well as a stand-alone. While the two characters, Story Taylor and Oleg, have been introduced, there has been nothing more. Oleg is like her biggest fan, as she and her band, The Storytellers, play each week at Rue’s Lounge. He is always there, open to close, at the same table, where she trusts that he will play along, catching her, allowing her to climb him, whatever. The crowd eats it up. Then at closing, Oleg watches to make sure she leaves safely—wash, rinse, repeat week after week.

The plot will have Oleg at her weekly performance and not happy when it is over, and she downs more alcohol than usual, and then her brother and bandmates leave her drunk to drive the van. Oleg will be there, offer to drive her home, and when she wants sex, he isn’t going to take advantage of her drunk. He gives her an orgasm, then tucks her in and leaves. But he isn’t paying attention and is attacked. While he escapes, he isn’t unharmed and makes his way back to the van where he passes out, and that is where Story finds him the following day.

The story is full of mystery, suspense, danger, threats, revelations, and, best of all, the sweetest romance. Oleg and Story seem strong on the outside, but on the inside, they have both suffered pain, and wounds are still raw. Oleg has secrets that could lead to his death, things that others would do whatever is necessary to uncover. Story comes from a life of chaos, and it has become her defense in avoiding any commitments.

“It’s amazing how comforting his presence is to me. Grounding. Solid. When I’m around him, the chaos in my head seems to quiet.”

When Oleg and Story do get together, it is like two missing pieces finding what they didn’t even know they were looking for. Story thrives on the dominance and control Oleg exerts, and he finds peace within himself when he is wrapped in her arms.

“You’re like a big daddy-bear who spanks and then cuddles. I’m definitely going to be your bad girl.”

After a second attempt, this time using Story to get to Oleg, the rest of the group must become involved. Oleg fears his secrets may be his doom, but his bratva brotherhood proves they are loyal and ready to do whatever is necessary to stop the threats and keep Oleg and Story safe. Now, Story is brought into the Kremlin, and she doesn’t back down; she is active and honest.

“I grew up in total chaos. Two siblings, a mother who is—emotionally unstable, and a dad who partied like a rock star. We had a lot of love but not much consistency. Consequently, I have a very high tolerance for chaos.”

Plans are made to flush out the enemy. The one thing that there is no control on is feelings, something that both Oleg and Story have avoided all their lives. What will happen when their hearts get involved? Will they be able to handle this, or will it cause one or the other to walk away?

“She believes this will end as quickly as it started. Maybe that’s her M.O. with men—quick to let them in, quick to throw them out. That seems to fit with her enigmatic personality.”

The good, the bad, and the ugly play their roles. Story needs to learn that she isn’t her parents and their messed-up lives. She is such a sweet, caring person, doesn’t seem to judge, accepting, and when it comes to Oleg, she doesn’t see him as a freak, a broken man; she sees him as a friend, then lover, and eventually a huge part of her heart and soul. Oleg has suffered so much in his life, learning that even the ones you respect and care for, they will turn on you. But when it comes to Story, her songs, her personality, it is a healing balm—yet, he is afraid she will reject him—and when he isn’t, the man shines. True acceptance is a blessing, and love is powerful—and that is what happens with these two. But, then trouble is here, his past has caught up with him, he can’t let his brotherhood be caught up in his responsibilities, and he can’t take a chance on Story’s life—but martyrdom leads to upset.

“You were being you. Trying to protect me and do it all by yourself without reaching out for help from anyone else.”

The story has power exchange, dominance, control, and explicit sex scenes. It has life and death danger, some violence—but best of all; it has chemistry and romance.

« quitter Mélodie me semble impossible.

C’EST CLAIREMENT MA CAME 🤓

Même si c’était à certains moments c’était prévisibles j’ai trouvé ça mimi et super agréable à lire.
D’autant plus que le prota étant incapable de parler, ça a rajouté un petit quelque chose à l’histoire ..

I seriously loved this book. Oleg is an Enforcer and he can't talk because of something that's happened in the past. He's obsessed with Story and shows up when her band plays at a little bar every week to make sure she gets home safely. This was so well written that I could actually feel the frustration he feels at not being able to communicate with Story. When he's attacked, she comes to his rescue. As their relationship grows, danger is still lurking. You know, I loved The Director and The Fixer but this story has become my favorite. I just want to squeeze the stuffings out of Oleg. He may be a possessive and over the top Alpha with Story but he's also a teddy bear in the inside, but just for her! Loved seeing everyone from previous books and now I'm waiting for the next book in this series. Ms. Rose just gets better and better with every book she releases!!!

Ugh! So good. This book was exactly what I needed to read right now. A JP Hero, of course, but a SWEET guy. A rock, if you will. 😁 There was drama, yes, but it was nipped in the bud as quickly as possible and then the MCs just loved each other. 5 stars

Sometimes a book goes down like warm, melted butter—it just glides into you. That was how I felt reading The Enforcer. Oleg is a fascinating character: mute, huge, and utterly devoted to Story, the lead singer/guitarist/composer for the band her brother formed years ago. Story is intriguing in her own right: she has serious abandonment issues from her parents that have left her gun-shy about lasting relationships. But Oleg, who comes and watches the band faithfully for years before making a move on Story, shows her his credibility, and that maybe, maybe, he’s worth trusting.

Rose puts her patented wonderful spin on sexy times here—there’s a teeny bit of kink and dominance in Story and Oleg’s unfolding relationship. And I liked how the risk that arises for Oleg and Story comes out of his damaged past, and how what might have seemed like mercy on the part of his mentor actually causes a seismic shift in how Oleg sees himself and others. Both Oleg and Story need to grow and change to be able to commit fully to one another, and that evolution is beautifully shown in The Enforcer.

There are some blips here—it’s kind of astounding to realize that Oleg’s bratva companions wouldn’t have thought to use sign language with him after years together. And Story’s bandmates are surprisingly detached from her when she’s goes off with Oleg for long stretches of time (rehearsals, anyone?). But these blips didn’t detract greatly from the story for me.

Rose has been on a hot streak with this Chicago Bratva series. The Enforcer is a marvelous addition to that.

Love a silent big man and Oleg is it!!! He cant spesk because his tongue was cut out before he was sent to prison in Siberia, Oleg is the Enforcer for the Chicago Bratva! He's been following the music career of Story Taylor and the Storytellers a local band. His past comes to haunt him and in order to save Story he has to kidnap her....remember that he cannot speak!! Its freakin awesome how the author works this and his interactions with the rest of the Bratva. Lots of smexy times and spanking is involved!!🔥🔥🔥 Another book that proves she is a one click author for me.

I always liked Oleg from reading the previous books. This book is his. He finally shows his Bravia family who he is by opening himself up. It figures it would be a woman to get him to change for the better. His knight in shining armour allows him the beginning of a relationship with Story. Ms. Rose never disapoints with the panty - melting scenes. The bravta shows the way they deal with problems in their way.

The Enforcer by Renee Rose is book 3 the the Cicago Bratva Series. For best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order.
Oleg is a dangerous man who's goal is to get Story for himself. So the big bad enforcer carries a big bad crush for the singer and his enemies learn about it pretty quick.
An ok read, 3 stars.

Heart pounding and heart meltingly good. This is by far my favorite book of the series, and I loved the others. This author brought the characters to life where I experienced the thrills, the intrigue, the danger, and the depth of emotion that blazed from the pages and actually brought tears to my eyes at different points. Oleg and his sparrow took root in my heart as they overcame all the barriers in their way, even those of their own making. Fabulous read!

Great addition to the Chicago Bratva series. Oleg was a fascinating character to follow, not only because he's hot or because of his history but also because of his missing tongue. The way Story helped him to learn to communicate was so cool. Loved seeing both Oleg and Story grow, both individually and together.

The Enforcer is the third book in Renee Rose’s Chicago Bratva series. Readers are introduced to Story Taylor, a lead singer in the band called The Storytellers, and Oleg, a muscle-bound hunk member of the Chicago Bratva. Oleg spent time in a Russian jail and was mutilated by his former employer leaving him with a mute. Escaping his life in Russia and wanting to start his life over, Oleg, comes to America. He connects with the Chicago Bratva cell becoming their Enforcer. Oleg is attracted to Story; however, he does not act on it since he feels his handicap makes him not worthy of her love. Story is attracted to him. Like Oleg, she feels unworthy of his love, but her feelings of inferiority stems from her dysfunctional childhood. A threat to Story’s safety leads Oleg to take Story to the safety of the Kremlin, the headquarters and living compound of the Chicago Bratva. Will Oleg keep Story safe? How will Story and Oleg communicate? What path will their romantic journey take? To discover the answers to these questions, you must read this book.

Ms. Rose penned a delightful, fast-paced, character-driven romantic suspense plot. I appreciated how she used the concept of a mafia crime family as her setting for this story providing readers with an in-depth look into the Bratva Crime Family. I appreciated the way Ms. Rose developed the relationship between Story and Oleg and how they learned to communicate. Ms. Rose masterfully uses literary devices, like dialog, POV, backstory, and flashbacks, to tell Story and Oleg’s story. Her use of conversational and internal dialog helps readers better understand them. She further sheds light to their dispositions using dual person POV. The inclusion of flashbacks provided readers an opportunity to deepen their understanding of their backstory. Ms. Rose builds suspense and tension through many rising action events leading to a climactic scene of abduction of Oleg. Overall, this was a captivating read. Nice job, Ms. Rose!

As I've been reading through the Chicago Bratva series, my eyes and heart have been pulled again and again Oleg, the enforcer. His imposing size, stoicism, quietness and his underlying layer of sweetness have been like catnip to me, and I've been desperate to learn all his secrets and see him got a shot with the woman that he has been longing for. This book, number three in the series finally grants my wish and I was not disappointed. I will say that I feel this book could quite easily be read on its own. Just keep in mind that characters do reappear and there are some references to some things that have occurred in previous books. Personally, I recommend them all though, so if you want the complete experience or you try this book and you find yourself intrigued and craving more, check them out. I do not believe that you will be sorry. Now back to this book. Oleg and Story really will make you heartache as both your temperature and heart rate increase as the well-crafted and engaging storyline unfolds. These two have some major baggage that weighs very heavily in the emotional and the physical challenges this couple must face. I must say that I applaud the author because even knowing what details I did about Oleg, she still managed to stun me with a few things I had never considered. I thought this was just a terrific read that has characters that will tug at your heartstrings, a story that will keep you feeling like you're right on the edge and a romance that hits you with a ton of feels and heat. AND if you are reader that is always on the lookout for unique characters, Oleg should be on your radar. This is my unbiased, unsolicited review.

This big bad enforcer, Oleg is a really a big teddy bear. Oleg is a the stoic quiet type. As we learn about his life and how he grew up, my heart weeps for him. Without providing spoilers, Oleg grew up in a tough area, found a person he looked up to and was loyal to ... which netted him an unjustified prison sentence and cut out tongue. Betrayal from the one you trust is one of the most painful experiences.

Story's life isn't as difficult yet it was no walk in the park. I find it interesting how two damaged people can find what works for them and create a relationship meeting my motto. Sweet pain with rough pleasure.

Of the three books so far in this series, Oleg's story was my favorite! I absolutely loved this book. It has to be kind of hard to create a story about someone who is unable to speak, but the author did a wonderful job. Story was the perfect woman for Oleg! The emotional connection between the two just pulled at my heartstrings and I really felt like I knew them! Once I started reading this book, I could NOT put it down! Who needs sleep anyway?!

A wonderful story about romance, sacrifice and true love. If you haven't read this series, you really should. It's fabulous! I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series!

Nope. Not into this rocker chick that will sleep with a stranger. I also did not find her to be cool.

The 3rd book in this Chicago Bratva series, easily read on its own, but so much better if you know the backstory to this..... I was really looking forward to this one after reading the others in this series! Oleg is a giant of a man, full of tattoos, imposing, intimidating, but his quietness and his inability to talk really drew me in, I wanted to know his story and all his secrets, and this book did not disappoint!! Its full of secrets, heartbreak, danger and suspense as well as some steamy hot scenes...

Story is the singer of a band that Oleg has been obsessed with since he first saw her perform. He is always at the bar where they perform every Saturday without fail, from opening to closing. Story has got used to seeing him there, relying on his being there, even to the point where she will throw herself off the stage knowing Oleg will be there to catch her. But that's as far as their friendship went, until one night she has had too much to drink and Oleg takes her home, and she invites him in..... but all is not as it seems, he doesn't take her in her drunken state, but takes care of her and leaves, only to find his past has caught up with him and found him walking the streets on his own, now both he and Story are in terrible danger.

This is a great story, made all the more special with the rightness of Oleg and Story together, how they fitted together like missing pieces, how he would do anything to keep her safe, and how she instinctively knew what Oleg was trying to communicate. Their connection just pinged though the pages, their passion, the steaminess, it was a joy to read and watch as Oleg opened up and tried more in communicating with Story and his friends. This one made me fall hard for both these characters, both Oleg and Story have very different backgrounds, each having had their own set of troubles, with each eventually realising they had found their One with each other, but not without some bumps in the road to get there!! A great addition to this series, can't wait for book 4!

“The Enforcer” is the third book in the Chicago Bratva series and I was waiting for this book since I read The Fixer! It did NOT disappoint! It is a tender, loving romantic story, filled with suspense, intrigue and hope. I had a review written then I read one of the posted reviews and needed to respond. The reader was perturbed because they didn’t understand how Oleg, who can’t speak, could be surrounded by friends and “ NO ONE can come up with a way for him to communicate with them until he finds a girlfriend?!!!” Each book is a stand alone, yet the characters weave their way in and out of all the books. I love this because I enjoy learning more about them. You don’t need to read the other books but it will heighten your pleasure if you do and then you will have a clear understanding about Oleg. I was so happy that Oleg got his own book and we would learn what happened to him. There are reasons why he cannot speak and why he choses not to learn how to speak. Renee Rose uses her amazing ability and helps us discover his secrets through the aid of Story. Oleg has been enamoured with Story, who is the lead singer in the band and he goes every Saturday night to hear her sing at Rue’s Lounge. Oleg has been an Enforcer and has enemies which puts Story in danger because they know, he cares for her. Will their relationship survive her fears of commitment? His enemies? His reticence to learn to speak or sign?
Renee Rose has the awareness and understanding to treat this subject with empathy, and warmth, as Oleg finds a way and makes the decision to communicate with Story and others. They discover the depths of their feelings for one another, their roles in life and what their desires could cost them.
It is fast paced and another stand alone story that will keep you reading from the first page until the end of the story! It is sweet, hopeful and filled with lots of suspense! Another AMAZING story!

“The Enforcer” is the third book in the Chicago Bratva series from author Renee Rose. The books in this series are interconnected stand-alone stories. I have read and enjoyed the other 2 books in the series as well, but I have to tell you that this one is really something special. I don’t want to give any spoilers, so I’m trying to choose my own words with care and its tough because I also want to go on and on about it!

Oleg was an intriguing character in the other books of the series and I was hoping we’d get his story. But how do you share the story of a mute mafia man? (Answer? Renee Rose weaves her word magic, that’s how.) His silence made him especially interesting and left me with so many unanswered questions … which I can happily say are now answered! Oleg has been incredibly attracted to Story, the lead singer of a local band. She’s a musically talented but relationship averse free spirit. When the story brings them together, the chemistry and connection between them transcends speech. This story is told in dual POV, which is critically important in allowing us to hear and experience things from Oleg’s perspective.

There is plenty of dramatic action in this book, which I expected. But there is also a lot of emotion in it, to a degree that totally exceeded my expectations. Oleg’s silence – (because of physical reasons and also self-imposed) - is so profound and heartbreaking, as are the restrictions Story has placed upon her own life. I wouldn’t expect there to be sweetness in a mafia romance, but in this one, there is. I couldn’t put this book down until I had finished it. The secondary characters are nicely done, and some will be familiar if you read the other books in this series. We also get a strong hint at who will be featured in book 4, and I’m already looking forward to it.
