About the author

Michala grew up in North Idaho surrounded by mountains, lakes, and trees. From an early age, she and her friends traipsed through the dandelion meadow and the forest in her front yard pretending they were characters in Middle-earth. To this day, she is still waiting for Gandalf to show up at her front door and invite her on an adventure.

At the age of thirteen, she read fantasy novels that inspired her to create her own magic with the power of words. Now as an adult, she's caught between the worlds she brings to life in her stories and the one called reality. Michala loves crafting stories of found family, light defeating the darkness, and redemption.

She works for a non-profit Christian humanitarian organization as a member of DART (Disaster Assistance Response Team) and deploys to places impacted by war and natural disasters.

In her free time, Michala enjoys seeking adventures in other lands, trying new foods to appease her Hobbit appetite, and gathering inspiration for her stories.

Michala is published with Havok Publishing and Inspire Christian Writers. Currently, she's writing an adult epic fantasy trilogy featuring an orc protagonist.

This is the first book I read from this author and let me tell you that I loved it! Such a good book with great characters that keeps you obsessed with every page since the first one. The ending of this book.. come on! I just didn´t expect it! Can´t wait to read other books from this great writer! Amazing job! a must-read! A fantastic book that has it all! I happily endorse this story to any and all who are looking for an enjoyable read and a completely different experience than anyone could imagine on their own. ¡Great book!

This book was a great read! I finished it in one day, I couldn’t put it down! The characters are endearing, captivating, and real. The author is not afraid to run them through the wringer, but still brings hope and healing to them all. I truly loved the family these characters created and the world that was described so vividly. I honestly felt transported as I read each chapter. This found family, dark, medieval adventure book is probably best for the older teens (a lot of people die, ok. I swear Michala Hampton is trying to be the next George R. R. Martin). I highly recommend it! Great first book by this author! 10/10 Can’t wait for another book of hers to come out soon!
