This is probably one of my favourite Bluey books, because you get to do all of the voices. And who doesn't love exclaiming 'I slipped on ma beans!'

This is a book retelling of the much loved Grannies episode of Bluey, so the story is probably well known. They do a nice job of emphasising different words - particularly 'right' - nice to explore what it means to be 'right' all the time in relationships.

Okay, okay, okay, I am a little behind on my challenge. I read close to 150 children books a year because of my job. So I may need to count a few for my challenge. I think the Bluey TV show is cute and I really kind of liked this book. The girls are playing "grannies" and Bingo does the Floss. Bluey exclaims that Grannies can't dance!! (This Grannie certainly isn't coordinated enough to Floss, but I do a mean twist!)

Bluey and Bingo are pretending they are grannies. But they get in an argument whether or not grannies can dance the floss. There’s only one way to solve this question.

I love the solution to this debate and how it depicts a fun-loving granny willing to step out of her comfort zone for her grandkids. Kids will find the idea of a granny dancing humorous (but whether they know what floss means is another question).

Re-read

Our household loves Bluey so we were chuffed to read another one of these board books. This one has a good lesson about hurting a playmate's feelings, and offers a way to make everyone happy.

The smallest member of the household declared that they are unable to dance the floss - maybe because they are not a granny.

Fun story about Bingo and Bluey pretending to be grannies and getting into different predicaments. Then b
Bingo losses and Bluey says they can't. They call Nana to ask her and she can't. Bingo gets upset and doesn't want to play anymore. What will Bluey do? Can Nana learn to floss? The author trleaches the lesson you don't always have to be right.

This adaptation, and probably all of the others, is an abbreviated version of a ten-minute-long episode of the adorable and well-written cartoon series. To cram the story into 24 pages, most of the charm and humor was cast off. I suspect a lot of the visual humor of the series doesn't translate well into static pictures as well. I hope my children enjoy it, at the very least.

Cut off pages

The book starts off just fine. But then the pages are cut off and missing half of the page. So many pictures and words are missing that we do not know the end of the story. Very disappointing. This was a e-book on Kindle to read to my grandson and wants ever to know he is very disappointed.

This one is funny. The girls are playing/pretending to be “grannies” and fun ensues. The morale of the story is that having fun together is more important than having to be right and prove the other kid is wrong (about trivial nonsense). So not a bad thing to cover. It ain’t fancy Nancy, but it’s still fun.

I love this episode of Bluey but the book is not done very well. It’s very choppy and has places where there’s just random lines where someone is saying something but you don’t actually know who. I love the story but this book is horribly done.

Recently Hafsa has started watching Bluey and I am not upset about it. It’s a thoughtful series. In this book Bingo and Bluey debate whether grandmas can floss and I have gotten old because I thought it was about teeth when it was really about the dance.

Cute and gentle story about two pups' imaginative game, which is ruined by a minor disagreement. Bluey comes up with an ingenious way to end the argument, resume the game, and teach Nana some slick new dance moves in the process.

This will always been one of the best episodes of Bluey ever! And now we can not only watch it but read it too! I love how the book is illustrated and it’s so colorful without being overly so. Will definitely be a repeat for us!!

We love the Bluey series at home and I like to get some of the books to read as well. I liked this one but prefer the episode with all the three grannies: Bluey, Bingo and Muffin... because Muffin is hilarious!

Grannies is a favorite episode for Maggie so this book as a hit! She even prompted me when I got distracted because I thought she was through reading. She wasn’t. So happy I bought a few of these books for one of her Christmas present.

Cute story. I like the lesson that Mum teaches Bluey. That you can be right, or you can play with others, but sometimes you can't have both. I like that Bluey makes the choice to choose her sister & her sister's feelings above being right.

What is the appeal of Bluey? Is flossing a thing you do for the sake of your teeth, or is a dance? Is it more important to be right, or to keep playing the game? So far I have more questions than answers....

Bluey and Bingo are pretend playing grannies. When the two disagree on whether or not grannies can dance, Bluey has to make a choice between sticking to her guns about being right, or finding a way to compromise in order to keep playing.

Bluey's problem solving in this was pretty good.

Bluey and Bingo's Nana rings very true in our household: we often spend video calls staring at a close-up of her forehead.
