Based on the on the wildly successful animated series, Bluey, as seen on Disney+
It's Christmas Eve and Bluey's entire family has gathered at the Heeler house. They can't wait for Santa to come! But Bluey's dad reminds them: No peeking, no presents. So Bluey, Bingo, and Muffin decide to play a game called Veranda Santa to practice not peeking! What will Santa bring them?
Kiddo loves this book, i think that it helps that the story runs so closely to the episode. The colors are wonderful and he gets excited when we turn the page to see the Holiday lights decked out on the Heeler house. I do wish that there was a bit more exposition on why Bluey should not have been so mean to Socks, but i guess a parent can fill in the blanks as they read. A great bedtime story, especially around the Holidays when its important to learn that not everyone celebrates the same as you.
This book was so cute! It was definitely a longer read but it was so cute I didn't even notice how long it was. It was about Bluey wondering how Santa would get in the house if there wasn't a chimney and they called him Veranda Santa and would take turns laying in bed, being Veranda Santa. Dad would remind them if they peeked, they wouldn't get any presents, but at the end of the book that wasn't the point, it was a sweet game to play as a family.
To say that my kids and i are obsessed with Bluey is an understatement! We love Veranda Santa so much, it’s such a sweet story that teaches kids about forgiveness and to be kind & nice. I always like that Bluey’s stories are full of great lessons to be learned. The story also has funny bits that the kids think are hilarious which is always a plus. The illustrations are beautiful as well!
If you want to delight your preschoolers, read this book and then pretend to be Veranda Santa and give them little treats while they are "sleeping." It was a HIT!
It was also a hit with my 6th and 7th graders, whose love for Bluey runs deep and have begged me to add Bluey decorations to the library.
i read it to my baby nephew i think i was more interested in it than he was xD but i thought it was cute and they are australian too - which i dont read much about aussie characters so thats always cool
The tv episode is always better than these books but this one was pretty good. It was a cute Christmas story with a great lesson that it’s always best to forgive others and think about how your actions can hurt them. Definitely a cute book for Bluey fans around the holidays!
The book of the cartoon episode with the same title. It's colourful, fun and just what we love. It's also a great story to teach children about kindness. Bluey is pretty mean to Socks, but she learns how to be a good cousin in the end.
it didn’t really keep a 1yo’s attention but she loved the star background on the inner covers. personally, i thought it was a really cute book and was a new kind of christmas story for me. i love how Bluey’s parents are so often involved in the kids’ play!
We missed reading this before Christmas but we still got it in and it was just as cute. My daughter loves Bluey and loved this story. We liked the moral to the story. The illustrations are identical to the TV Show. We would recommend this read.
Little One likes this better (I think) than "Christmas Swim," which we also got in this pack. He's very concerned why Socks doesn't also get a present, even when he knows why. Poor guy. (And poor Socks! She's just a baby.)
This is an adorable Christmas story featuring Bluey and Bingo! It follows the Blue Veranda Santa episode perfectly, which my child loved. The story is fun and easy to follow. The illustrations are detailed, colorful, and engaging!
Bought this for my daughters second birthday and it’s an instant favorite. She loves all things Bluey. Watching the episode may be better than the book, but watching my daughter sit contently and smile ear to ear as me or my wife read this is much more special. I wasn’t aware there are lots of Bluey books until I logged this one on Goodreads. This is the only one our local Barnes & Noble carried. Based off this one we will definitely buy more.
Got this book for my niece. She loves Bluey and this one was too cute to pass up. Bluey and her family practice Christmas Eve traditions of leaving presents for each other.
